K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnother evidence question! Help!

Another question: How should we attach the passport pictures to the g-325as? I have the actual passport picture just paper clipped to the front of each g-325a. Is this wrong? How should we do it?

I took a Ziplock bag and two hole punched it at the top, like the rest of my papers, and just placed it behind my G-325a after writing my name/ fiance's name on it.

I think you sending bank statements showing that you were in the USA and she was in London are good proof of your claim you two were together within the past two years. It's hard to fake that.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresBasic Initial Form Questions
I followed the K1 guides http://www.visajourn...content/k1guide and added more then they probably wanted but I figured its better to send more and them not need it then them sending me an RFE.

My packet included:
Cover Letter
*PAYMENT*
G-1145(highly recommended for peace of mind)
I-129F Form
G-325A from both and 2 copies of passport style photos
Petitioner Birth Certificate
Copy of all pages of Petitioner's passport
Letters of intent from both parties
Proof of us meeting within the last two years including airline tickets/bank statements/boarding passes/hotel receipts/and pictures
Proof of ongoing relationship including: "Our Story" a more detailed story then the brief on I-129 form
I didn't have photos from Ross meeting my friends and family so I got my mother and two friends to write letters about meeting him and had a notary sign them
Skype chat logs
Facebook emails (we took snippets every 6 months because we've been writing since 2008)
Emails to personal accounts
Amazon gift receipts
ect.

If you have any questions I'd be happy to help! This process was nerve racking for me and I'm so glad we shipped it off at the beginning of October.

After following the instructions on the USCIS website I placed my K1 packet in folder to protect my papers. When I took it to FedEx they shipped it off in a box.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLast Minute Questions
Do all of our evidence photos have to be printed on glossy paper too, or just the passport-like photo? Do we need to date the photos???

Just the passport photo. You can send them copies of your photographs as long as you leave space to say who is in the photos, when they were taken and where because if they misplace the photos they will send you an RFE so its better to label EVERYTHING

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange of Address BEFORE NOA2

Once you get NOA2 and your case gets sent to NVC you can contact them to ask your case number. Then contact the embassy with your case number and tell them the new address (and you can also ask that they email you the packet 3 at that time).

Thank you!!! :D

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresChange of Address BEFORE NOA2
Everything I have read says that I don't need to do anything until after I receive my NOA2. My question is how do I notify them afterward? How will his Embassy know where to mail his paperwork? My understanding of the AR-11 form is that it is for after he has moved here and is on his visa.

Thanks! Love Dr Who!

They are currently doing petitions which have been filed on or before July 18th 2012. You are after that date so they technically haven't gotten to you yet at least according to their processing times listed. If you go here: https://egov.uscis.g...sDisplayInit.do and click the California Service Center processing times it will show all of the different types of petitions they do there and where they are in doing them.

Thank you!! I'm a huge fan as well! :D

I'm still not fully understanding. :bonk: I filed in October 2012 and it has been over 6 months with nothing from them. How can I be within their July 18, 2012 processing date? The link you sent didn't take me anywhere. Sorry to be so ignorant.

I guess I'm confused as to what that means. Are they only required to help you if you have filed before July 18, 2012? After that you just have to "sit tight"?

I'm tired of waiting around to hear from the CSC so I thought I'd be proactive!
I was wondering what to take along with me to my infopass meeting? I know I need my NOA1 and infopass appointment form but should I bring along my K-1 packet? Has anyone in the forum been to Omaha Field Office in Nebraska and have some advice? :help:
I don't want to go in there blindly and forget something.

Hello All!

Just wanted to know - along with the original I-134 form and intent to marry - should I send original pay check stubs/letter from employer/ W-2?? Or are copies sufficient? In the K-1 Guide it only mentions to copy the NOA2.

Thank you! smile.png smile.png

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDocuments presented at POE

Hi,

I need to clarify whether the intending immigrant is required to present his/her chest x-rays from the medical examination completed for the immigrant visa to border patrol at a point of entry to the US.

Or he/she only presents the the thick envelope given to him/her at the US consulate.

Thank you

Just the thick envelope. I just came to the States on K1 in September 2012. The X-ray is still sitting in my desk. This X-ray copy is entirely for your own records, and in case you need another medical done. I had it in my carry-on the entire time. Hope this helps.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAnything and everything.
[quote name='nicknackzz' timestamp='1366857966' post='6184896']
Hello all! I was wondering if anyone here can tell me anything and everything they know about the CR-1 Visa, such as what are all the required forms, what is an estimate of waiting, an estimate of prices, etc. I am 17 and not married but, it would help if I were told the information AS IF I were 17 and married because that may soon be the case and it would just help me out a lot. This may be a broad thing to discuss.. but please tell me anything you can! And FYI I know about the K-1 Visa and that is not a route we are willing to take at the moment.

1.The people who are advising you to do research are not doing so because they have went down the hard path and wanna make sure you do the same, they are just trying to make you realize the way this process goes. I read your complaint about USCIS not giving you relevant info, but (fortunately or unfortunately) this is how it goes. In order to be able to start the application process, you need to read the USCIS website, your local embassy and government info about this, research visajourney, ask friends who have been through this, make calls... even if you hire a lawyer, you will still need to know a lot in order not to get dragged around by people who want to make money off of you. Especially in your case.
2. even though I agree that it is nobody's business as to whether you will go to school or marry, you need to realize that when you make the decision of exposing your case to a forum like this, there's always a possibility that you are going to be judged. So filter out from the replies what is useful for you and ignore the rest of the comments.
3. When you are asking a question, please provide more information. It would be easier to help you if you provide you full circumstances. And don't get mad that people are not willing to just spread out everything they know in front of you. In a manner, it's like school; people here are wiling to help you with homework, but they won't let you copy theirs :D
Good luck.

Hi all,

I am waiting for my NOA2 for K1 visa and I want to change my job. Does anyone know if this will effect the K1 processing? Do I have to tell them that I changed my job just like I would have to tell them if I changed my address?

Hi, I am Zara. And no, you don't need to. My husband (fiance at the time) changed jobs while we were applying.Just make sure to hold on to the pay stubs, you will need them later in the process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDenial decision

A couple of weeks after the US embassy in Armenia received my papers, I sent them an email about scheduling an interview. This is what I got as a result.

 Dear inquirer,

Please be advised that last week you were contacted and asked for coming to the embassy for receiving your invitation. You answered that you are unable to come so we scheduled you on Friday, you didn?t show up. You can come to the embassy on 17.Aug.2012 in order to receive your invitation for your interview on 23-AUG-2012.

I had not received a single call from them, so apparently there had been a misunderstanding of some sort. This case is way different than yours, I am just telling this so that you know mistakes happen.

Whoow Greg n Veronica. I would kindly inform you that this is a forum, not a love chat. If you feel I am not supportive enough, overlook my comment. I did get that a simple email is all he has now, my comprehensive abilities should be none of your concern.  People need to disclose their circumstances in order not to confuse others.

As to fsuinla, your timeline tells me that your consulate is Armenia, whereas you mention Thailand. I had a few problems throughout my journey too(at an interview stage). Maybe they sent you an RFE that got lost in the mail, or it may be a dozen of other things.

Seriously? I apologize i advance for sounding harsh, but the way you posted is very selfish. You NEED TO provide sufficient information in order for us to give you advice. What you just did is you freaked out a whole bunch of people who are waiting for their i-129 NOA2. This is a long process and stressful enough. Posts like this scare people and they think USCIS is something horrible.

Dear i-129f applicants, please don't stress out. USCIS NEVER denies for no reason. This person either has something wrong with his case  (there may be millions of things), or this is a USCIS mistake. Either way, I am not going to give advice to a question formed in such a way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi-134 and Employment- Confused please help!
Oh that makes so much more sense!!! SALARY is not INCOME. It's your rate of pay, that you typically get every 2 weeks, right? So my salary will remain the same, I just am not receiving it until I get back and the form doesn't ask about that. THANK YOU!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi-134 and Employment- Confused please help!
Hello Everyone!

I am new to VJ as you can see, I haven't even started a timeline yet! I am getting read to send my Petition in for a FIANCE VISA. However, I am also getting together all the other documents my fiance will need for his interview because I will be going to Ghana to be with him for the next 4 months. Therefore, we want to make sure we have everything ready while I'm there, just in case he gets an early interview date. So here is my question:

I am going on unpaid leave from my Employment starting in January 15, 2012 until around May 15th, 2012. Therefore, will I still put my current annual income as it was for 2011, even though it will be different in 2012? Also, will i need to include this in the letter from my employer?

If anyone has advice or could point me to a place where I could find out I would REALLY appreciate it. Thank you SO much, I really appreciate this website and I have been searching through old posts for this answer!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK-1 filed since 17th Jan 2012 for Ghana
It could depend on the Service Center. I filed our petition on 1/23/12 and we FINALLY got an approval on 6/14/12. Ours was sent to the California Service Center. I think it can also depend on the individual worker who was assigned to review your petition. You can always call the USCIS and give them the receipt number that came with the NOA1. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUS Embassy in GHANA-where does package go?
Hi everyone!

So I received a letter from the NVC here in the States saying that the fiance petition has been or will be sent to the US Embassy in Ghana. My question is, what part of the US Embassy in Ghana receives the petition? This is a USCIS office in the US Embassy, however on their website they have a list of forms/petitions that they deal with and I did not see I-129f on there. I want to know so that we know what office to call/e-mail to find out if the package has been received. Could anyone help me out with this? THANK YOU!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 never received
Thanks for your replies guys! I ended up sending an e-mail to the USCIS service center I was assigned to, California. I included my receipt number, our names and DOBs and explained in the e-mail that I could not afford to pay for the replacement fee and did not feel it was fair as I had never received my NOA2 in the first place. 2 weeks later I got an e-mail back from the California Service Center stating that they were issuing me another one! Then I got 2 NOA2 letters on the same day!! So if anyone else has this issue, contact your service center ( I think you can only do that by mail).
LauraEFemaleGhana2012-08-07 23:26:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 never received
Well I received my letter from the NVC and an e-mail from the USCIS stating that the fiance petition was approved, but i am POSITIVE I never received an actual letter from the USCIS. So i called and explained the situation to them and explained that I have to have this form in order for Eric to do his adjustment of status when he arrives. They told me I would have to fill out a request for a duplicate copy and pay a fee of $405!!!

I was like is there any way I can get one without paying the fee and they said no. So I said "So I have to pay $405 dollars for one piece of paper that I never received in the first place that I HAVE TO HAVE in order for my fiance to get his green card..." and the supervisor on the phone just said, "Yes." Ugh I'm so mad. Luckily I might be able to fill out the fee waiver form because I took 6 months off of work/school this year to go to the Ghana to be with Eric, so technically I will be under the income requirements. Has anyone had an experience with this or a similar situation? Thanks again.

This is one of the few situations that will with almost 100% certainty cause a petition to be denied.

Well, we actually met five years ago, and I went out there three years ago, so, she's waited long enough... and it's showing. I was a fool to wait so long, but my life has taken several steps backwards since we met, and I just wanted to have everything just right for her to be here and it's taken me this long to re-establish myself.
