Middle East and North Africa	job du'a/prayers please	Rahma has he tried networking with people who work where they need help. My husband took ESL classes and his ESL teacher got him an interview at Walmart and he went to his interview and they hired him pending his background check also. He likes his job a lot because at least it's a start for him. He sent a few applications to places but never got called back..That was a big bummer and had him down for a while, But considering he came here Feb 9 and got a job April 19 we were pretty lucky. Middle East and North Africa	Monday's here again	Well you know they say sticks and stones may break your bones but words can never hurt you. However, human spit is really nasty. The average american doesnt know the difference between arabs, muslims, sheiks and hindus... I wonder how we expect them to know about anything else.. Anyways ever since I started wearing hijab I've been spat on, had something thrown at my car, and I was called and islamic b!tch in a grocery store.. And I expect more as well... People are set in their ways. wow..and you live in michigan right..like where most of the arabs live in the usa. We have an egyptian psych doctor here you see his wife in the store wearing her scarf and nobody doesn't even glance twice or stare at her. Other than that my SO is the only arab here. Well the other day one of his co workers has a daughter who married a guy from egypt and are in their immigration process so she told him she was happy he was there so when her son in law comes maybe he can have someone to talk to. He was kind of amazed everyone knew about the late king hussein of jordan. I guess even though i live in the boonies so to speak people are kind of worldly here. Middle East and North Africa	Monday's here again	some people are so ignorant. Ok let me tell you a story a couple of nurses I work with told me. One of them had her husband go to iraq and another one was in the national guard. Ok they both told me that the army told them that guys from the middle east who are not married are free to engage in sex with other guys..hahaha. I was like what the hell who told you that?? The other thing was the use of the water hose to clean themselves..since I work with other nurses they all thought that was very sanitary and was it's like taking a little shower every time you use the bathroom only thing they laughed about is dripping dry. You hear some weird sh*t about the middle east from people who never been there or who just hear things. sometimes you can sit them right about it and other times you just have to ignore them. Middle East and North Africa	Tuesday!	Tuesday.....BLAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! When is it gonna be friday again? I have been having tooo much fun with my new phone. I spent all nite yesterday making ringers for it and my hunny was getting annoyed bcz i was ignoring him to play with my phone LMAO JP same thing with me and my new phone. I got this new phone before Anmar got his visa and I spent the entire time messing with my phone instead of chatting to him. Finally i put it down on the bed and started chatting to him but then i would find myself looking at my phone . He's like who do you want me or the phone..lol That's soo funny!!! LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, yesterday both yourself and Sarah sent me IM's while I was playing with my phone, did either one of you have my attention? Congrats Carrie & Simo!!!!! Middle East and North Africa	Tuesday!	My vacation is kind of sucky My husband is working. I planned a birthday for my son on sunday even though his birthday is this wednesday. He wants it at the rec center so he can swim and play games and the only opening they have is Sunday from 1:30pm to 3:30pm so i have no choice but to take that one. Now I seen a carnival has come to town, and i'm thinking great that's all i need because my kiddo will be asking to go every night. He loves those little beat up carnivals that come to town and only have a few rides. Well I have two more days of vacation and then i go back to work on friday. I guess I'll just lounge around all day and eat bon bons..haha just kidding!! Just_waiting I hope your days get better. If possible start looking for another job while you are still employed. Never know you might find the job you are looking for. I work with all women and that can be tough sometimes too. But we finally all realized it's better to gripe in the morning about an issue and get it out of our systems before our patients come. Makes the day go so much better! Middle East and North Africa	new here	Hi everyone! I haven't posted in awhile but I have a couple updates. I got my NOA1 from my I-130 and sent in my I-129F two days ago, alhamdulillah. So all I have left to do is keep waiting at this point. I'm also going to Egypt for a visit leaving July 1 inshallah. Being away from my husband is soooooooooooo difficult. Some days are just horrible! I'm sure most of you guys can relate. Question...do you ever find yourselves picking fights just because you're frustrated from it all? I've picked like three fights in the past week with Mohamed. Last night I asked him if his life would be easier if I'd just "go away". I made the man cry. How horrible am I? Then he asked if MY life would be easier if HE would go away. Then I cry. So the two of us are crying like babies. Then he tells me about his cousin's wife getting pregnant. We start to talking about birth control and he asked if I was back on it or will be by the time I get to Egypt. He doesn't want me to get pregnant before he gets here. I get upset because in my mind the birth control talk means he doesn't want me to EVER get pregnant. So I tell him..maybe I'll get a tubal ligation and you'll never have to worry about me getting pregnant!!! OMG...am I a lunatic or what? This distance and waiting is making me CRAZY!!!!!! Ok thanks for bearing with my rant. Welcome to ME/NA forum! This process does take a toll on you and your SO. The most difficult thing is the waiting!!! Me and my husband use to have our little spats on the computer but mostly it was just due to the stress of this whole immigration process and being apart. Once he gets here it will all go away, but be prepared for the adjustment because sometimes that can be worse than waiting for some. Hang in there. You have good company here. Middle East and North Africa	Jordan Embassy SUCKS!	I am fully aware of all the reason my petition is being held up, I am just venting. I am very aware of the way they process their appications and visas, I just don't agree with it. I don't think its fair for the embassy to open its door to another country without recieving additional help, but like Rahma said that would be too logical. If I was waiting for an immigrant visa then I would be able to justify the date, but for those of us that are waiting for non-immigrant visas, its ridicoulous. We still have to do all the adjustments once they get here! I mean this goes against the whole purpose that the K-Visa's were made for to begin with!!!!!! Thanks all for your support, I have been trying to remain positive. I feel better having the packet now. I was just flabbergasted about waiting until December for a packet. I mean what if December came and went and no packet? How would I have the proof my interview was actually in February???? That was my major beef, I just wanted the appointment letter. Like i said they suck the big big one!!! Probably got a wild hair up their behinds thinking this was going to work much better. I wouldn't be surprised about the amount of email and phone calls they are getting because of this. Middle East and North Africa	Jordan Embassy SUCKS!	their policy is first come first serve no jumping ahead of anyone else, also they processes cases from iraq since iraq is unsafe to have an US Embassy there. wait times were 3-4 months for an interview and two months more for the interview but that has all changed. Probably backed up or overloaded with student visas and iraqis applying. Also there is no different if you are K1, K3, CR1, or DCF the wait times are the same. Middle East and North Africa	Jordan Embassy SUCKS!	Yep Amman sucks the big one. It's very typical of them to send emails like that. Sorry JP Amman does send the USC the packets. We finally received our K3 Packet last month and Anmar was already here. Talk about slow. Here is how the embassy works with walk in hours and asking for a packet. Sometimes they may give one and other times they won't. Anmar went for his and they said nope he just happen to see this lady that worked for this lawyer he was using and his lawyer got his packet. I think Lulu also sent his wife there because he thought she can just walk right in and get the packet. They told her no and from what lulu wrote she needed an appointment if i remember correctly and his wife being mad because she went all the way to amman for nothing. I'll tell ya, it's like its not even an american embassy they gave my husband more information than they gave me when they responded to my emails. ok that's my gripe about them! Middle East and North Africa	sorry this might sound dumb	kelly, amal asked that question too its somewhere here the forum. might have to look through the pages, but they can apply for visitor visas. only thing your father in law is a jordanian police officer. if i remember correctly anmar told me he has to get permission from the jordanian gov't first. Both his brothers are police officers also and that's what they told him. We also want his mother to come so we told her to start applying now for a visitor visa. The other thing they have to prove they still have ties to their country and won't try to immigrate once they are here. i think i read that on the web site. I'm the on call Acute Hemodialysis/Peritoneal nurse this weekend, and right now I'm at the hospital putting the dialysis machines through a citric thermal..meaning disinfecting them. My husband is working, ok so he just called and told me his cousin from kansas is here to visit. My house is messy because we left in a hurry to go look at some more houses this morning with our realtor. Darn now i have to go pick up my SO and go home and clean really quick.
