Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCopy of IRS Transcripts vs Copy of H&R Block E filing
We have our I-751 packet ready to be mailed, but my husband read on here that the IRS transcript is what we should send instead of a copy of our H & R Block E filing. We also have a copy of our refund check. Anyone have success just sending the Copy of the H & R block E filing? My husband wants to wait for the transcript which will take a week or more.

Thanks,

Angel

My fiancee has only received a polio vaccination when she was younger. She doesn't have any other vaccinations. Will they be giving the vaccinations at the exam, if so, which ones?

Thanks for the info. My fiancee does have a question though. She had a bicycle accident years ago and had some of her back teeth damaged. She has had a few pulled but some of her back teeth are decaying ane need work. Is this something the St. Luke exam is going to look at ? We just got approved for the petition..about how long will it be til the medical exam? I'd like to see her get her teeth done soon anyway to be safe.
Also, she said she has a small problem with hemmoroids. Big or small deal?

I'm just curious to know if anyone here has done the St. Luke's medical examination in the Manila? If so, can you please name every single thing that the examination conducted? My fiancee is convinced it's a full body physical, but I thought maybe it's a blood test and a few other things.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionA question about figuring income..
I'm planning to have my father(who I live in the same house with) co-sponsor. My fiancee and I will move out next year sometime with the funds I have saved up. I thought that for the Manila consulate accepts 100% of the poverty line for 2 people? (Which would be 14,570)
The AOS requires 125% of the poverty line for 2 people.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionA question about figuring income..
My situation right now is that I did the math and I do make enough money to be the sponsor myself. The first half of the year I was in college but I decided to take a break and work fulltime. I've been employed since the end of August and I work 40 hours a week and get paid 8.50 an hour plus another .50 cents an hour for "uniform pay", which pretty much goes in my pocket. Do they even figure that misc. type pay into your income? Even so, 8.50 an hour times 40 hours a week times 52 weeks in a year is 17,680 before tax.
Is this how much they tell you make a in a year? Even though I havent been employed full time all year...does it matter, as long as you are bringing in the income now? I am under the impression that I just have to show them my bank statements and my last 3 paystubs. I'm guessing they just base it off of the last 3.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSt. Luke's Medical Exam question (Manila)
I realize that it's way cheaper to get it done in the Philippines. I'm considering having her do it...but it will cost 482 dollars for her to get her teeth pulled and replaced. In the US it would probably be at least 3 times the cost. However, we just got our NOA2...there's a LOT of other stuff to pay for...so this doesn't help at all!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionSt. Luke's Medical Exam question (Manila)
I know I brought this up once before...but my fiancee requested taht I ask other people that have done the medical exam in Manila this question. She needs a major thing done with her teeth due to an accident. A lot of back teeth need pulled and so forth. The price to get the whole thing done is just crazy and with all the other expenses I have going on now, it would be tough to afford it. Does the medical exam at St. Luke's check the teeth? If not, then that would be good, cuz we can wait til she gets a job with dental insurance.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo-sponsorship annoyance...
I've read so many different people's experiences to going to the consulate interview in Manila in regards to co-sponsorship. And I also read the letter from the embassy that each case is ruled in a "case by case" basis and has a unique ruling in regards to becoming a public charge or not. However, it still doesn't really give me a good answer. To me, this should be a black and white issue and not a grey area. My guess is they don't like co-sponsors to be friends or distant relatives. In my case, my father who I even live in the same household with is the co-sponsor so I don't really see why they shouldn't accept it. The problem is, I've seen one or two people say the consulate wouldn't even accept their own parents as a co-sponsor. I think this is where things should be black and white. And the last person I read up on said their consulate and others didn't even look at the sponsorship forms.
It seems to me that some consulates are nice and less biased, and others act more unfairly. I really do hope my fiancee gets a good consulate.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI-134 Question
I have a question about form I-134. Since my father is filling out his form as a co-sponsor, and that I reside at the same address as him, I am not sure if he should write my name down as being partially dependent for support, or not at all. At my job I make 19,000 a year approx but I don't pay rent or much of anything else living with my parents. I'm not sure if that qualifies as partially dependent or not. I wasn't claimed on joint taxes with my parents for 2008 so I'm classified as an independent on there. I'm also not sure what looks better to the embassy when trying to pass a co-sponsor on through. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionk1 visa, co-sponsorhip refused
I'm really sorry to hear what happened to you and your fiance and I really do feel for you. I am sponsoring my fiance on a K-1 as well and my income is probably barely sufficient. I make 8.50 an hour and .50 cent an hour uniform allowance that goes in my pocket anyway. So basically I make 9 an hour full time, with some overtime. I live with my parents who make a combined income of over 100,000/year so I'm planning on using them as a co-sponsor just in case. My fiance's interview's coming up and things like this really discourage me at times. I have that CR-1 option as well but don't you have to wait a certain amount of time to file for it, if you had a K-1 denied?

My question is, did you even submit an I-134 yourself at all? I could be wrong, but it seems like you just submitted a co-sponsor and that's it. Are they giving you a chance to get a job and make some income so she can resubmit the I-134 with more income, or are they just sending it back to the USCIS? My guess is the consulate saw your living situation as potentially really sticky. But it doesn't make it right to do what he did. Immigration in this country is really crooked. Illegals that swim the across the border get their visas and green cards, even amnesty...but your own fiance can't get a visa? I often ask myself what kind of country is this.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo-sponsorship during the interview with the consulate
Gotcha, I work for $9/hr and work full time. Thanks for the information. Sorry for seeming overly emotional...but it's a rather emotional time for the both of us.
It still would definately help to get a job that paid like 12 dollars an hour or more. I work as a night time security guard and I get paid peanuts for what I do.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionCo-sponsorship during the interview with the consulate
Sometimes people don't know how exactly how hard it is to go through this. To be in love with someone that you can't regularly see in person and have no certainty that she'll ever get here. I'm always getting discouraged by things like this. I work full time and get paid 9 dollars and hour and I can't even find a higher paying job where I live. If I could, I'd be on that right now. I only make a little over 14,000 a year after taxes; I just calculated that one. I know that my cousin got married to a Filipino man, she just graduated at high school and still lived with her parents...and they still accepted their co-sponsorship. Hmm.

My father is going to be listed at my co-sponsor. I don't see why they'd reject that as a co-sponsor. It's not like a friend or uncle is co-sponsoring. I also have the money saved up for all the following fees and so forth.
Thanks for the encouragement guys, I might as well give up, break up with my fiancee and hang myself.

I've been reading a few people on here saying that the consulates don't accept co-sponsorship...??? What gives with that? I am planning on having my parents co-sponsor our petition. I do make about 13,000 a year but still that's not enough I don't think. Why on Earth would they not accept co-sponsorship, when yet every source out there says they do? This is so frustrating....

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)My Interview AP experience
QUOTE (Cereza @ Oct 15 2009, 09:17 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Here is a part of my interview experience. If any of you could tell me why you think we are on AP, or what steps we should take next, I'd appreciate it. And NO my SO has NEVER tried to enter the US illegally, NEVER had his finger prints taken by the police, and NEVER been in trouble, and is the ONLY person in the entire country with his FULL name, including his mother's maiden name. Ok, now read on.....

So we are called to window #20. Our CO was a guy in his mid 30s and his name was Glenn but looked more like a Bubba. He had a heavy American accent and was balding. He instantly struck me as a laid back guy, and it seemed like it was going to be easy. Glen swore us in. Shaking our heads was suffice, we didnt even verbally have to say yes. I told him I would do the interview in Spanish because I wanted my SO to understand everything, but he said no. That hed do it in English and Spanish. Well, the whole interview was a mix of the 2. He spoke to us in both, my SO and I responded in both. So each question we just picked different languages. At least he was able to see we both had no problems talking English and Spanish. He only asked me what was my SOs Bday and where I worked. The rest of the questions were to my SO, but I chimed in and had to clarify some questions-answers.

Were did we meet? We told him, and then he said, OK Im going to google the place. But then said, just kidding. Then he said it was better than meeting on the internet like some other people do.
He asked us what our religion was since that was on the original application as to the circumstances on how we met.
He asked my SO had he ever been out the country including Cuba PR etc...
He asked my SO what is Bed Bath and Beyond? That was on the original application as one of my past employers. Another CO said, "Hes not going to know that!" Then I realized why he was asking and told the CO that it was a temp job for a few months to save up for DR, and that my SO wouldnt know the name of the company, but that if he asked about my other employment he would know.
He asked my SO if he knew my ex boyfriends name? My SO said yes and told him. The CO asked if they were friends, my SO said not yet. Lots of laughs here.
He asked my SO if he knew my email address and to write it down. I told the CO my SO only knows my cerezadulce1@....com address and that is not the address I used for my petition. I used a more professional one. Either way my SO wrote it down. Then the CO was like, "ok back to level 2 spanish let me try to see if I can figure out what this means...sweet cherry 1?" I said "yes, that is part of the meaning of my name." He said ok. The CO then saw my jetblue miles and said "wow you have a lot. What happens when you get 100?" I told him I get a free flight. Then he saw my cerezadulce1 email address on my jetblue paperwork and said ok.
Then he started looking at our proof that I had sent in with the original paperwork. He started reading some emails and started saying jokingly, "What does this say here? Besame besame? A donde? Whoa!" Then I said, no that is not possible. He was joking again. Then he wanted to open up the photos we sent with the original petition but it was glued and stapled shut and he couldnt get it open. He said jokingly, "its the most fun to see the dirty pictures, lets see what you got" Again, I told him I didnt send stuff like this. He said he was most interested to know WHO took the pictures of us. But when he couldnt get it open was like "forget it, I dont want to see it that bad." So then I knew he was positive of our relationship. There were lots of laughs and we joked a lot.

So at this point all I was looking for was a green paper to start feeling happy. I see him pulling out a small green piece of paper-like a ticket and start to clap. He says "your visa is approved BUT"..... (the words I never wanted to hear and was my worst fear)...."there is some more processing to be done." He took my SOs passport and told him that when the processing is done, the visa will be delivered to his house. So right there my heart dropped as I thought of people waiting so long like TJ, Wfeliz, and Deale, and I said "this is bad news. This means this is going to take another 2-6 months." Then the CO said, "no this could take 24hrs to 2years, but as soon as you go pay Domex, I will hit the send button to Washington and this might be resolved very quickly." Then I asked if there was a hit with his name and he said very sarcastically because at this point there was no reason to joke anymore "Mmmmaybe yes, mmmmaaaybe not." I told him I wanted my SO to come back with me Friday for my sisters wedding, and he said that was never going to happen. We took the green paper and headed to the crazy long Domex line. Instantly I start crying and had my face red like a tomato and I was tore up. Instantly everyone begins to stare and stretch their necks to eavesdrop in my SO and mines convo to hear what the problem is. So we talk in english to avoid this and I start giving dirty looks to at the people staring and that resloved that problem. People were so confused as to why I was crying if were ON THE DOMEX LINE. My SO had a friend also petitioning his wife the same day. Apparently they called my SO back to window 20, but we never heard. Instantly his friend came running to the line to tell us to go back to window 20. So instantly we begin to think this was one of the COs many jokes or figure there was some mistake. But no, he forgot to give us another large green slip explaining everything, and that we were to present the slip to Domex. So then I say to the CO, "so basically we are under administrative review?" And he said, "no you are under administrative processing." Then I said, "thats the same thing." He didnt refute it. He also began to stare at me because I was a total mess even though I didnt cry in front of him, it was obvious I was crying. He told me, "Hey at least you get to find out if your SO is a drug dealer" Again, NOT the time to joke around! "I said I am positive he is not." I wasnt laughing either. Then we went back to the Domex line where I began to cry the entire hour till we paid Domex, and cried the whole night pretty hard. My eyes were so puffy I could barely see, and they are still puffy now even though I stopped crying yesterday. It seems like this ####### always happens to me. I am wondering if when the CO said, "all he had to do is hit send" if that means this is a process done by email?? If so that would make things quicker that waiting for DHL to send packages.

WOWOW>>>>>
I am so sorry my eyes were welling up to... these so called ppl( with NO HEART) just dont have a clue what we all are going thur and how hard this whole process is emotionally ....
I will keep you in my prays ad hope for a speedy AP.......

Is there anywhere i can download this? I would like to be very well prepared

I don't think you can down load pkt4. It will come soon. Make sure you have police check, birth certificate, divorce and marriage certificate if applicable and evidence of your relationship. In fact if you have packet3 it tells you the same as pkt4 and gives you a tick list of everything you need and it is only when you have all the required documents should you send packet 3 back to the embassy ( not documents, you take them with you to your interview )

QUOTE (elmcitymaven @ Sep 3 2007, 10:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Don't bother emailing London. Generally, they delete emails unread unless you have the "special" code you can only get from calling their premium rate number (£1.20/min!). You might get lucky if you put your case number in the line, but maybe not. If you really must email them, this is pretty much the only way you can ensure a response (although there are exceptions to this -- some people have gotten lucky in the past with only a case nu,ber). As Tracy said above, calling NVC is your best bet here.

Once you get the case number starting LND2007, you can call the Department of State for MUCH cheaper rates (as it's a regular US long distance call) for updates: 202 663 1225. They have just as much info as the Embassy (generally). Good luck! good.gif
I had no problem with the email system at the embassy. I was actually advised by vj menbers to do so, unless there is now a change in their emiling system

If your petition was approved, there's no point at looking at it online anymore (obviously your case didn't get updated online to show 'approved'). The case is no longer with USCIS - it is sent to the NVC after approval, and then sent to the consulate in London. The online information you used at the petition phase is no longer relevant.

If you have not heard anything since your approval in June, I would have definitely been calling someone by now! But at any rate, you need to figure out where your case is. I would start by calling the NVC and making sure it left there for the consulate. You'll need the case number of your petition, and I'd call either early in the a.m. or late at night. (603) 334-0700. They will be able to give you your 'new' case number, which will now begin with 'LDN'.

If it has indeed been sent to the consulate, then I would phone or email them to get a status.
http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=London

Processing times at consulates vary - and 'being British' doesn't matter one iota. You're in line with everyone else going through London, or at any step of the process, for that matter. You can get a guesstimate of London processing times from this thread:
http://www.visajourn...h...t&p=1153253
Another suggestion might be to email london embassy in my experience they were quick in responding just make sure you write your case number as a subject heading. I've heard phoning is extremely expensive. I waited from the beginning of Nov 06 until Jan until I heard in fact I emailed asking for an update and it was through this email that I learned about my interview on 31st Jan 07. Good Luck
