I was wondering about the processing times once the NOA2 has been received. Approximately how long does it
take them to sent the papers to NVC? How long does ittake for the NVC to fwd it to the US embassy in my counrty?
And how long till my embassy contacts me?
I know nobody knows these time perioda for sure, but at least approximately. Thank you very much ahead.

I think it will be useful to start planning so that the paperwork doesn't pile up.

Do u have any difficulties learning German though? I know for a lot of people, especially Americans, the pronunciation and the grammar is pretty tough.

Well, the grammar is pretty tough, but I already speak English, Russian and Armenian so that helps

Lucky you! Not seeing my fiance till we meet in the US, crazy! So yeah, feels good counting one less month. Wish I was from Cuba or Dominican Republic LOL.

The thing is I was an exchange student in the US back in 2009-2010 :)So I am not in the USA now. The last time I saw my fiance was in February when he visited me on Christmas

And the next time I will see him will probably be no sooner than in 6 months or so

Amen and Amen! Yeah, we really have to trust in God to see us through all of this and yes, I do believe that God is able to even shield us from people like that CO who would interfere with what God wills for us. I got a tourist visa from the American embassy in Kenya last year and honestly, I think it just depends on who you end up having interview you. It was so easy for me to get a tourist visa though there was a real chance of denial because I was going to travel with my son and they heavily frown when they see a single mother supposedly visiting the US on a tourist visa, to them, it looks like immigration. But God was faithful and gave me great favor before the CO and in a few short minutes, my visa was approved. Felt like I had just gone to have a nice chat with a friend, very painless. Let's pray for smooth interviews like this one and I do know it is possible for things to go so well that we end up wondering if it's all really that easy. Thanks for your encouragement.

Took me a long time to figure out how to do my ticker and now I can't remember how I did it, hope someone here can help :-)

Having a nice CO at the interview is something we all pray for. I didn't have any problems at all when I was applying for a student visa

Even though me and Aaron we will wait as long as it takes, we are hoping for a 3,5 - 4 month approval. Anyway, if it takes longer than that, he is going to visit me again in summer, or in autumn (possibly for my sister's wedding).

Made it to Florida last night... was so awesome to see Tom waiting for me after a long & dangerous drive! (we drove right through a severe thunderstorm with tornado warnings in Michigan... scary stuff!!)
No questions at ALL at the border, maybe because I was travelling with my parents. The only thing they asked was for me to take my glasses off so he could match my face to my passport LOL.

That is so awesome. Have a great trip and take tons of pictures and save your boarding passes/itineraries for later in the proof of ongoing relationship.

I'm still trying to think of getting my proof together besides chats and emails. Most of the time we just chat everyday and see each other on webcam. I use magic jack with her once in awhile. Does anyone know how to get the call logs from magic jack? thanks. I wonder if that will be a problem. that's one of my few worries with the process. I front loaded my i-129f with my many pictures and emails and chats. but there won't be too much after we get the noa2 approved. it doesn't seem as strong since i filed. any suggestions? snail mail?

I suggest paper mail. I love writing letters to Aaron and he does, too

We have been doing it even before we thought of applying for I-129, just to make our relationship more special. We don't have very many but even a dozen or half a dozen should be fine. Also mind that the envelopes have to have the postal stamps on them. Send cards, letters. It will also make your relationship more romantic.

I got denied at the embassy too. I did not know my alien # until I was refused entry and was written in my passport, but apparently you're assigned one the first time you deal with immigration and denied (I guess it's something to do with keeping track of aliens with possible red flags?). I enquired about it while I was waiting for my flight back. I had two awesome CBP officers ghosting me for several hours waiting for my flight home. One of them actually got her fiancé in on a K1 visa as well! Strangely enough she did not qualify for the "met within last 2 years" and had to petition. Good to know even CBP can't cut the queue. She encouraged me to try for K1 with my partner. Anyway I am getting off track.

In short.. don't worry about it! They will link it back for you when doing the background check.

Thank you very much. This was a relief. I have heard many times that a tourist visa denial is not a big issue when applying for a k1. So we keep 'em crossed

I have a question about your post. I have been denied a tourist visa once before, too. Not at the port of entry but at the embassy. Does that mean I have to have an alien registration number, too? We sent our I-129 without it, I didn't know I had one. What should I do? E-mail it to them?

Dear everyone!
I see a lot of people asking about what we can do while waiting for our NOA2. There are a few advices that I have.(Just to make the waiting period easier)
1. Take up a hobby or start doing something you always wanted to do. For example, I am learning German.
2. Work on your looks to look amazing for your wedding. I am staring running in mid March, Aaron works out.
3. Work on your language skills. Watch movies, read books, learn new words in English. Believe my experience, the better you speak the language, the easier you are going to adapt to the US culture. I am reading Freud now

)
4. Spend a lot of time with family and friends because you will miss them.

It is so funny, Aaron received the e-mail on the 25th and it wasn't until today that we "guessed" that maybe that was the NOA1. The form doesn't have the words "Notice of Action". It says "Application Acceptance". But again, we haven't received the hard copy yet, just the e-mail.

The police certificates are usually good for like a year, so I think it's safe to start working on those anytime you want to.

Some stuff that I have been working on for Valentina -

1) Affadvit of Support (although I'm not sure yet how "recent" the documents have to be, but I am definitely including my tax return)

2) I bought her a book called "Living In The USA" from Amazon for like $5. It's all about our culture and includes chapters in the book on moving to the US, the culture of the US, and Immigration. It's not necessary but I gotta admit the book's pretty legit.

3) College Transcripts - I am going to have her college transcripts evaluated. It's a cost of about $200 and I'm using WES (wes.org) but I think it's worth it. She has her masters degree and we want to know what it equates to over here.

4) Money - We have been trying to figure out how to get her money ASAP for when it's interview time (mainly for the $350 Visa Fee). I'm going to get her a ATM card for my account. I considered buying her a travel VISA but the fees are exorbitant.

Other than those, not much I can do at this point. I'll be giving her a copy of the I-129F package with all of the original documents and photos, but there's not much else to prepare?

Thank you for the useful information about the police certificate. I thought one has to get the a few days before the interview. However, I have one question. It seems like everyone's cheques have been cashed after they got their NOA1. Ours has been cashed, and on the uscis website our case is under the "initial review". And we have received the I-797 e-mail too. Shouldn't we have received the NOA1 already?

I mailed my I-129F February 17 and still no NOA1 - no text, no email, no check cashed, but it was delivered Febrary 22nd.
Why is this happening???

We are almost in the same shoes. Aaron sent it on the 18th of the same month and still nothing. It was delivered on 21st and a few days ago we got an email telling us that it has been forwarded to California Service Center.

Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion

Removal of Conditions fee going up?

Does anyone have any knowledge about the removal conditions fee possibly going up in the next couple years? I know the USCIS is always talking about raising their various fees...but I don't know if the removal of conditions fee is one of them on the table. It's already way too expensive...my wife just got her 2 year green card this month...so we'll have to wait til 2012 to apply for it.

Very Frustrated; RFE

My wife and I have come a long ways on our visa journey, getting through the hardest(and most expensive stuff), but 2 1/2 years down the road during the removal of conditions process, an RFE comes to haunt us. We filed for her removal of conditions in February or March...and waited so long, and nothing. And then this past week we finally got something, hoping it was a letter for approval, but instead an RFE. I thought I had placed a pretty good(and convincing package) together to send to the USCIS, but apparently it wasn't enough to convince them. And my wife is worried they won't approve her. The things I sent the USCIS:

Recent Joint Bank Account Statement
Recent Lease Agreement
2011 Tax Return
401K Form (they claimed we just sent them an application for 401K, that it's not evidence of an account)
One Photo and 2 Post Cards

It is saying we need to submit Financial Records of joint accounts. I thought the bank page was enough, with both our names and same address on it. I don't have certain things, like our car insurance is under my parent's plan...and we don't have a joint credit card. We don't have joint health insurance either. I know that she has a life insurance policy though. We misplaced our W-2's, though I thought I sent them to the USCIS along with the 2011 tax returns. I can get another one, but it takes a week or 2 to get them.

It also says to submit evidence that we reside together. I thought the lease would be good enough. I do have a water/gas bill with both our names on it. The electric bill is in my name and the cable bill is in her name. Can I use both?

My other question is...do people ever get denied the removal of conditions for stupid reasons? I think we have all the proof we live together, it just seems like the USCIS is not easily convinced or anything :/

I heard that it could be both one or two days, and that you won't necessarily find out until you get there. It would be a good idea to book 2 nights at a hotel there if ur not from Manila

In regards to plane tickets

From what I've read, the Filipino fiancee has to purchase the tickets in the Philippines because it's illegal for an outsider to purchase their tickets to leave the country. So what is the best way to go about finding the cheapest tickets/route? I figured Philippine Airlines would be the cheapest and I flew with them to the Philippines and was impressed. What does the usual one-way flight cost to get to the USA booked locally?

My fiance lives in Cebu and I'm wondering what mail service they will use to mail out PACKET 3 to her...I know someone mentioned Air 21 but she's never heard of that. I ask because the regular mail she has is horribly unreliable. They don't even deliver it to her door most the time.

I'm just curious if any Americans here ever went to Maguindanao to meet their fiance? Since Maguindanao has been really big in the news lately in light of terrorist attacks and kidnappings, I wonder if anyone here actually went there. I personally don't think I'd ever have the balls to go there. Walking around in that place with an American flag shirt would be like swimming in shark infested waters with steaks strapped to your arms and legs.
