US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3 -What to send back
QUOTE (paul p @ Sep 28 2009, 04:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
QUOTE (paul p @ Sep 28 2009, 04:04 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
All;

Sorry in advance if being a bit thick. I have been on the us embassy site and on here and some information conflicts so a bit confused. I have had packet 3 and have been trying for last 9 day to get my head around it. Can you please help me the following.

To get an interview date i have to complete the following 5 forms:

DS230 (Part 1) - Is this correct?

DS156 - Is this correct?

DS156K - Is this correct?

DS157 - Is this correct?

IV-15K - Is this correct?
You've got it!

So if above is correct, some futher questions:

DS156:
Evidence of Financial Support. Is the affidavit fo support. THese is nothing on the US embassy webpage to help here. What form should i use to complete this information to their standards?

If you get stuck filling out any of the forms, go here: http://www.visajourn...p;page=examples. The DS156 is not the Evidence of Financial Support. The i-134 is the Evidence of Financial support. This is what your fiancee should be filling out and sending to you, with her documentation.

Evidence of engagement: What they want? Ring receipt? If you have it, or we just collected emails talking about our impending wedding. My fiance asked my father for my hand in marriage by email, so we included that. This is not something you send with Packet 3.

Birth certificates of all children: Do they want this even if they are ot accompanying me? I don't think so, If your kids are 21 or over, then no. Otherwise, I don't see why they would need these. Anyone else have this info??

Do i send in photo-copies of all additional documents (which are also on the checkilist)? Or do i send nothing in and just take the evidence with me?
All supporting evidence goes with you to the interview. Only the DS forms and the IV15 are mailed to the IVU.

DS230 part 1
Part 1 only - leave Part 2 blank. Is this correct? Leave blank any part that says "Do not write below this line". Fill out everything else. We sent part 1 and part 2 in our packet.

Q35 - All trips to the USA. Got to remember them all? Well, you can only record what you can remember. Do you have stamps in your passport? Anyone you travelled with who could help you out?

IV-15K
Do i have to wait until i have all items before sending this in? Currently awaiting affidavit from fiancee (i am the beneficiary) and police check
Well, I would suggest the correct answer is yes, but considering it takes approx 2 weeks to get the police check, how close are you? How close are you to getting your affadavit? I hear packet 4 takes at least 2 weeks.

Court / prison record. Never been to either. Do i stilll need this? No

Additional
Evidence like photos etc. re required. Assume just for the interview? Correct!

Again, sorry if this is repetetive. I have checked just been struggling

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi, can anyone help with this please?

It's not easy, is it? smile.gif Good luck. If you run into any questions along the way, just shout.

Be sure you include 2 copies of Form DS-156 and DS-157 for each family member applying for a visa.

Keep one copy of everything for yourself! This will help in case something gets lost at the embassy or in the mail along the way.

QUOTE (hindocha @ Sep 29 2009, 06:43 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Many times mate. NVC shipped it on Tuesday 22nd September; sent London an email trigger, confirming my petition is coming. I would have thought once they received the email trigger, this would have prompted then to send Packet 3 out (considering its a letter confirming they have it and another letter with URLs on it). But I'm still waiting, it's quite frustrating to say the least. Once I know London sent off Packet 3, I can begin to complete the forms and send of the IV-check-list along with another form they require. I don't they understand the frustration and anxiety people go through whilst we wait. Apparently London send an email once they receive the petition, but I haven't received one yet. I'm not holding out for one, as my status for I129f on USCIS website, still hasn't changed from RFE received to approved.

By looking at may peoples time line, they aren't waiting to receive the Packet 3, once they know that Packer 3 has been sent out, they starting filing the paper work.

When they are saying London hasn't received the paperwork yet, they are just meaning that it's not logged into their system yet.

It took 2 days for our packet to get to London (we tracked through DHS and even when we knew it arrived, DOS said it hadn't) and 11 calendar days for them to issue P3. P3 never showed up, so we sent the forms in anyway.

You can get your forms together now, if you haven't already, and have them ready to post.

It took us a couple of days to fill out the forms completely and make sure they were correct before we sent them off.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionUK Packet 4 Letter Content...
QUOTE (Shilps.Vik @ Oct 7 2009, 06:10 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi all,

Due to the very infuriating postal strikes going on in the SE of England these past weeks, I have not yet recieved the Packet 4 letter from the US Embassy in London confirming my K1 Visa Interview date and time.

Although I know the interview is next week (I've called them up and found out), I don't know if my 'Packet 4' letter will arrive in time. So, can anybody help with the following?

1) Is this letter necessary to take with you for the interview?

2) Does anybody know from past experience what the content of that letter was?

3) Were there any special instructions/directions etc, that needed to be followed or adhered to?

As always, thanks for your help everyone.

V

I wonder if the Dept of State or the embassy (more expensive) would be able to answer the "what happens if it doesn't show up" question. I've wondered that myself, since P3 disappeared in the mail somewhere.

From what I've read, the letter is required when you show up at the embassy.

Hi Guys

I am in the process of booking my flight to the USA as approved visa has come through (k1)
now my question is.....will it be a hassle if i book a RETURN flight to head over? will i get hassle at Poe?
Or am i just as well to pay the extra for the ONE WAY ticket and save any hassle?
I have spoken to a few people who say return will be fine and one way is the only way
as a return flight will red flag for whatever reason....

What do you guys suggest?
Anyone been through the POE on a return flight or was it one way?

Many thanks

If a round trip is cheaper then book that BUT you MUSt book it from your country. You cannot take "return" filght without being on the outboaund flight, they will CANCEL the ticket. Book it FROM your contry TO the USA with a return flight TO your country. Te not take the RETURN flight back and you will have no problems. If you have troube bookinga flight from your country on a US based website (like Orbitz or Travelocity) then go direct to the airline website and buy it there, it will probably save a few extra bucks also.

This is 100% accurate. You will not have any problems at POE if you book a round trip vs a one way (which is usually more expensive).

Good Luck

thanks guys can i ask if you have been through the POE yet?

They are correct.. We've not been through POE, but I was reading a thread on VJ about this a few weeks ago. They should not give you any trouble at POE. If they questioned it, you would just tell them the ticket was cheaper this way and you don't intend to use the return flight (because you know you cannot).

Congrats on reaching the end of your K1 journey. Exciting!

QUOTE (appledrop @ Oct 21 2009, 11:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey all, I'm looking for people with similar experiences or that can help me get in touch with the right people?

My fiance is from the UK (Scotland). His visa interview was on Monday and he was approved pending his medical. His medical was earlier this month and it all went well except for that they said he needed to get a psychiatric exam, which means he has to find a private psychiatrist to do the exam for him.

He cannot find a psychiatrist anywhere. There are some in London but the figures are looking like upwards of $1000US dollars to get it all finished. Is this for real? Has anyone else run into it? His GP referred him to a psychiatrist in Aberdeen but that was 2 weeks ago and he has heard nothing from either of them.

Do anyone know if there is a time limit to get his medical papers in for the visa to still be good? They approved the visa on October 19, so how long to do we have to get the medical in before we have to start over again? Also, the visa is only good for 5 months or so, right? Did that time start on Monday or will it start when he gets the visa in his hands?

Thank you for any of your input.
I'm freaking stressed out and sick of all of this. It's one of those days where I'm just crying and screaming and can't handle it anymore.

I mentioned this to my SO, who lives in England, and he can't imagine it would be $1000 to do this. My advice: Have him call the GP or the psychiatrist back to see how soon he can get in or what the status is.

Have you an idea of what would have prompted this request? It's ok if you don't want to say, of course, but I'm just wondering if it was one of the check boxes on the medical questionnaire.

Take care, hang in there, and make some calls.

Hello All, my fiance and I just received notice that our petition has been approved for the K-1 visa! yes.gif

But now this leads to a whole host of a million questions regarding the post NOA2 steps....which somehow seems more confusing than the initial petition process!

Two questions:

1) Is there anywhere on VJ that lists the step by step process from NOA2 approval to interview? I'm confused as to where we go from here and how.....like when my fiance can schedule his medical appointment or when we can start gathering documents such as my employment letter, etc etc.....I don't even know how long it takes to go from NOA2 approval to an interview? Days? Weeks?

2) I am also trying to clear up the whole discrepency regarding Question 11 on the I-134 for London Embassy filers---what do we put on there exactly?

Again thanks so much for helping me find my way in this great sea of confusion! My head won't stop spinning with all of the things my fiance and I need to get done before we get that visa in hand! cool.gif

Regarding question 2, I put "I intend" and then wrote, "All funds and accommodation needed for the duration of his stay". We just passed our interview on Oct 21.

Regarding question 1, highly suggest the Guides area at the top. It has everything post NOA2 you need. Have your fiance start filling out this paperwork: http://www.usembassy...a/iv/iv_15.html and requesting his police check. Get your i-134 and supporting documentation to him as soon as possible.

If you filed in California, you can start calling the National Visa Center in 10 days to see what the status of your petition is. 603-334-0700 Hit the prompts to speak to an operator. The automated system doesn't work for K1 applications.

After your petition transits to your embassy, then you can call the Dept of State for status. Once they say "the embassy has sent the P3 packet to your fiance", then you can start sending in the DOS forms you need (check the guides for them) and schedule the medical.

This forum is probably your next stop from here: http://www.visajourn...p;#entry3437903

Good luck! Hope that helps some. It's a lot to summarise all in one spot. smile.gif

By the way, the length of the journey varies. Ours lasted 7 months from sending our i129F packet until POE, which will be in 4 days. smile.gif

At this point, that is all we are waiting for...they have everything else done. Fingers crossed but I am not going to hold by breath...but I am always hopeful

Thanks for the heads up, I looked through the UK forums and couldn't find anything specific about November 2nd, I did see a post that stated you have to have the medical done at least one week prior to the interview. No problem there. Thanks! It's so exciting to know we are almost done with this step! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll hear something this week!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow long does one have to fill out the Packet 3 forms?
QUOTE (NikaThinks @ Nov 11 2009, 11:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi there,
I'm new to the forums but have been using this site as a resource for a number of months now. I tried to search for the answer to my question, but I couldn't really find the info I wanted.

My fiance and I are planning to get married next summer, and we've already received our NOA 2. The US Embassy in London has received our packet from the NSC, and has sent my fiance a letter with a link to a website with the forms he needs to submit (amounting to his Packet 3).

Do you know whether there is a time limit by which the Packet 3 forms need to be submitted to the consulate? I didn't see any info about this on the website, but I'm sure that at some point if you wait long enough your application must enter some sort of inactive status -- which we definitely don't want to hit up against! Would not submitting the forms until January 2010 (the consulate got the application in early November 2009) be a problem? Does anyone have any further info on this?

Thanks!

Once you've received the visa, which arrives a couple of weeks after the interview, your SO has 6 months to use it to enter the US, too. I'm sure you can go ahead with your P3 and you should run into summer that way. Then you have another 90 days to get married once he enters.

I call the courier service they say they have not had anything sent to them for me and to

before it is sent to the courier services for them to deliver.
My question is is it normal for it not to have been delivered yet, 5 working days later?
how long did it take from the interview until you actually got the visa delivered?

thanks in advance.

I think it does widely vary, but keep us posted, please. Some of us just interviewed or soon to interview would love to be aware of the status of visa deliveries.

So you have called DOS and spoken to a live person and they are saying your paperwork has not been received yet, or what are they saying?

Was your packet 3 sent special delivery where you can see via the postal website that it arrived at the embassy? I know there have been postal strikes, so a slow delivery is possible.

If another week goes by and DOS is still saying they don't have the paperwork, I would be tempted to resend it (special delivery).

Also can anyone please confirm I need 2 copies of DS156, 1 copy of DS156K, 1 copy of DS157 and 1 copy of DS230 part II?

Thank you for all responses.

Stefany.

I believe the form indicates to either staple or glue the photos to the photo section of the form.

Yes you need 2 copes of DS156, 1 copy of DS156k, 1 copy of DS157 and 1 copy of DS230 part II (sworn statement).

We did not put any passport photos on our paperwork. Ian took them to the interview (in London) and they were fine with that.

From my embassy (London) website: Complete the Form DS-230-Part 1, Form DS-156 and DS-157 for each family member applying for a visa. In addition, the principal applicant is also required to complete form DS-156K. Note: Forms DS-156 and DS-157 must be completed in duplicate.

If you send DS-230 Part II, which you can do, do not sign the sworn statement. That section indicates that you shouldn't write in it. You've probably noticed this. Paperwork is fun! smile.gif

Hey guys,

I looked at the example form for the I134 and the last question is something like 'I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions....'. The answer to this in the example is 'N/A. K1 visa...'. I just wondered if anyone could clear this up for me. My fiance (USC) just got laid off so we are having to fill in his I134 as 'unemployed' status. On his mother's I134, she wanted to tick the 'I intend' box as she is going to give me shelter and food even if for some reason I cant afford rent. Why do we not tick that box (according to the example) even if its true?

Thanks!

In London, they tend to like to see "I intend" and for the text, I put "Any monies needed during the duration of his stay". Other consulates might be ok with N/A, but London has a reputation for wanting "I intend".

Our i-134 went through like this, so yours should.

Good luck! Lots of paperwork, eh? smile.gif

I'm hoping the London consulate will have copies/access to the supporting evidence we have already submitted.

Yes. The one you submitted was not necessary. You will need an updated affidavit of support at the time of the interview.

I'd agree with Gary again here - The first people you see at the interview seem to be following a script - any deviation from that will confuse them and might cause you problems. When they ask for the I-134, it will be easier to simply hand it over than to try and explain you have previously submitted it and hope that they can find it.

Now is your opportunity to minimise your stress/worry on interview day - good luck! :-)

Adam

Hi there! Well this is my first time and I'm excited!

Well my fiancé and I are getting married in Feb! I'm from the UK and she's from US and I can't wait to start our new life together. However we are slightly worried about the whole VISA process. We received our NOA2 on 11th Novemeber saying that the forms are now being sent to the London Consulate, however I have not heard anything from the London embassy and now it's just short of ebing a month since our last update. Can anyone advise if there is anything I can do to speed up the process as everyone seems to have received their NVC Receive and consulate receive shortly after the initial approval.

Any help would be greatly appreciated ?

Regards

Luke and Amber

First, I would call the NVC and ask them if they still have it. You'll need your and her name and birthdays and your case number. Then ask for the new Case number (for the consulate), if they passed it along, you can email or call the consulate and ask for an update.

After my NOA2, I never received anything from NVC. If I would not have called, we would not have known anything until our consulate sent my SO the Packet 3.

In other words, I am not sure how many of the others 'received' dates are really that they got information in mail or email, and how many (like mine) are based on us calling.

Do not wait for the P3 to be sent. Call DOS ((202)663-1225 press 1, 0 ) and ask for status. If they say Packet 3 has been issued, then you can go to the embassy website http://www.usembassy...a/iv/iv_15.html, follow the instructions and send in your forms right away. The official packet 3 only has a link to this website.

If they don't say packet 3 has been issued, then give it a few days and call back.

I agree with the PP that you should not make any solid plans or buy flight tickets until you have your visa in hand. Absolutely anything could happen between now and then (delays at the embassy, requests for additional information, etc., broken visa printers, etc) that could cost you some $$ in the end.

I'm just nervous we won't meet criteria for funding and then I would be crushed! Fingers crossed ey smile.gif

You DO need to meet poverty guidelines based on an annual salary earned by a US citizen. This can be proven either with your SO's salary (via proof described in the i-134) or with the aid of a co-sponsor. You do need more than $$ in the bank. Immigration wants to be sure that any immigrant being admitted to the US this way will not become a public charge.

Every embassy may have different requirements, nonetheless the fact remains. As part of the evidence of financial support, the one required to provide documentation and proof is the petitioner. I-134, bank letters [this should show date of opening, balance], last year tax return [I send two just in case], employement verification letter with date hired, position and salary, full time or part time bases..

hope this can help you...

Hi there just collecting all our info for the Package 3. Just to clarify can someone please give me an example of what we need for the evidence of support? I have about $2600 in my US account and my Fiance has about $1000 in hers will this be enough? She also has a pernament job in the US and can provide pay slips/stubs.
The letter from her employer what should it say exactly? or does anyone have an idea of the jist of the letter?
How many copies do I need of everything for the Package 3? I am getting mixed messages from different people

Many thanks in advance for your replies

I'm sure the requirements for the i-134 follow the instructions for the i-134, regardless of which embassy we're talking about. You cannot go wrong by following the officially published instructions.

Each embassy website shows what is required for P3. Here is the info for London: Look here http://www.usembassy...a/iv/iv_15.html. Look under "The Visa Forms" for the number of forms to be submitted.

I would suggest going by the instructions for the i-134, which is what the sponsor will be filling out: http://www.uscis.gov.../I-134instr.pdf. Look in the Supporting Evidence section under General Instructions.

Also, some tips are available here: http://www.visajourn...mp;page=support

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionNOA2 & NVC Case Number
QUOTE (Peepod @ Dec 23 2009, 07:56 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hello everybody!

We received our K1-Fiancé(e) NOA2 on 12/18 and today I called NVC and found out they had received the case from USCIS! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

They gave me the case number over the phone. I guess my question is this; can I simply go to the London Consolate Website and download the required forms, fill them in and return them to the consolate even before we receive packet 3?

As far as I can see I will need to send them the following forms:
- DS-230 (Part I)
- Form DS-156 (x2)
- Form DS-157 (x2)
- Form DS-156-K
- IV-15 & Checklist

Many thanks for everyones help, this is such an awesome website. So many helpful people!

You can definitely do this.. just follow the instructions on the website. Just check with DOS before you send them to London. When calling DOS for status, they need to indicate to you that London has mailed your packet 3. Once this occurs, then send your paperwork as soon as you like. Send it confirmed delivery. Keep a copy of everything you send for yourself, in case something gets lost along the way.

I take it you have your police clearance ordered..

Make sure to make your medical appointment, as well, once you know your packet's gone to the embassy. There's a spot on the forms to note your medical appt date.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHelp with I-134

Hello! I am trying to get everything for my fiancee's interview ready I am going to England next week and am taking the paperwork with me. I took a break from nursing to help my sister and her family out by taking care of her daughter and son. She pays me 1600.00 monthly plus my rent and utillities. She does not give me a pay stub? I am very nervous that I am not going to get everything or I am going to miss something. I have my tax returns from last year, bank statements etc. Do I need her to make pay stubs? She is also going to co-sponsor will this be a problem seeing as she is my employer ? Please help I have read the guides over and over, I just need to make sure I have everything I need. Thanks for your help!!

Thanks,
Erin

I would say getting a letter from your sister explaining that you work full-time, how long you've been doing this, and what your salary is. Do you have cancelled checks from her? Maybe take some photocopies of those.

I don't imagine the co-sponsorship from her will be a big deal.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionVisa delivery time estimate?

Hi all,

My visa interview was on January 27th, but on the day I discovered that they needed to see a full birth certificate in stead my half cert! Also, according to the interviewing officer, my passport 'was too damaged to have a visa attached to it' (a few of the pages were a bit crinkled on the edges from water damage, although I had been travelling on it!), AND the interviewer indicated that she wanted to see my American fiancee's tax returns from year eneding 2008 (even though it says nothing about that in the interview guidance notes or checklist), AND the interviewer asked for a completed I-134 from my fiancee (even though K visa applicants are not required to furnish this document, according to the interview guidance notes and checklist!).

So, after that farce, I immediately order a new passport, a new birth certificate at a combined cost of £156, and Shawnie Fed-Ex'd her paperwork to me from Houston at a cost of $100.

Courier came and collected items from me on Tuesday 9th Feb. Courier said it can take up to 15 working days to process visa, but originally I was told from interview that it would be 3 to 5 working days. Does it just take even longer now because the interview didn't quite go according to plan? A delay creates even further delay? It just slows down further?

What is the average time for London applicants in my situation to get a visa returned by courier after supplying items to courier to go the embassy?

Thanks a lot everyone!

Martin & Shawnie.

3-5 days is what they always say, and sometimes it happens, but 2 weeks or less is more like it.

When it gets back to USCIS, contact them. Otherwise you will need to wait more than a year to appeal the revocation.

I would still call DOS and see what status they give you. I'm interested to know what they say.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 visa revoked, but...
QUOTE (rodrigoandjanie @ Oct 29 2009, 09:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
...case is still here at the consulate in Rio de Janeiro/Brazil. I honestly don't understand what's going on here...I had a visa interview on October 15 and for some reason the consulate officer said that would send back the case to the United States recomending to be denied because in his mind, my relationship with my longtime girlfriend isn't real (he didn't even look at the photo album or any other prove of the relationship by the way)
So he gave me a green letter saying that the visa was or would be "revoked" and then after that our lawyer sent an email to the consulate saying that this was obviously a big misunderstanding and that we can send all the evidence that they want because we have nothing to hide and we're not lying about anything here. The response they sent was that the consulate officer who did my interview would analyse the case. This email was sent the week after the interview, and we prepared a package with all the evidences about our relationship we can imagine. Even notarized letters from my fiance's family saying that our relationship is real, pictures of us together, everything! And then right after that, my fiance sent an email with a huge letter telling them that we're in love and we're together for 3 years and asking them to reconsider their decision because we ARE a real couple! Their response? "This letter would be added to the first email and the consulate officer who did the interview will analyse the case" Then this week...our lawyer called the consulate asking for answers and they said that our case is still here in Brazil but the consulate officer would analyse the case. My doubt is: what the hell is going on? Why is it taking so long for them to give us an answer? Did anyone here ever went though this and got the visa in the end? What are they doing? We're about to get the senator involved...but me and my fiance really don't know what's happening and why it's taking so long for them to make a decision.

Thanks!

All the best

Rodrigo

Well, if you filed for a K1 visa and it's not been issued, then it can't be revoked. Maybe you're in administrative processing. Call the Dept of State and ask them for status of your K1 petition.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview Date

Hey everyone,

I was just curious, Iam currently awaiting my interview date and was wondering when I receive my interview date is it possible to call the embassy and move the date forward if there have been any cancellations?

Thanks

Rhys

Once your visa's been approved, you have 6 months to use it, then 3 months after entering the US to get married. If you're looking for more time (just guessing), there's 9 months. Or are you trying to change it to a particular window due to a visit or business trip?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI NEED ASSISTANCE

Thanks. What doesn't make sense is that I don't make enough money, but when he would move over here we would both be working, and with us both working here in the US we would have enough money over the poverty line, no one in my family has ever been a public charge. Do they not take anything like this into consideration? Do they just look at how much you make, and deny you if its not adequate?

Also, in order to work in the US after moving here and marrying you, you would have to file for Adjustment of Status and he would have to receive an Employment Authorization card.

The best plan is to find a sponsor or a job that pays enough to bring you over the poverty level.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon interview letter

Hi Arch

We're all on the UK interview thread here: http://www.visajourn...d/page__st__855

You can see list below who's still waiting. From returning packet 3, it's looking like 5 weeks at the very least.....

Waiting for interview date:

Adrian+Mike (K-1) P3 sent 21 Jan
Kristen & David (K-1) P3 sent 15 March
nickm (K-1) P3 sent 18 March
doghandler (K-1) P3 sent 19 March
Miss Jess (K-1) P3 sent 22 March
Y&E (K-1) P3 sent 25 March
ztaylor (K-1) P3 sent 25 March
Amy and Michael P3 sent 26 March

Hopefully Adrian + Mike have called DOS to enquire about the current status of their application. That's a long time to wait for an interview date, IMO.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWrong Country on reply from NVC

So we got our daughters Greencard application back this weekend from the NVC and they have a) listed my daughters country as Ireland not NORTHERN Ireland and b) have listed her embassy as Dublin.

Now, she sees herself as Irish so is happy enough AND she is receiving official US mail on her N Ireland address, but won't this create a problem when it comes to interview as Northern Ireland in under UK jurisdiction and so she should go to London?

It's actually handier for her to go to Dublin than London ... it's just down the road rather than a flight away ... so it makes sense but would saying nothing and just going to Dublin create issues at the interview and cause a major hold up?

Ronan

One of you needs to call the NVC and have this corrected. If she is a resident of N Ireland, then she needs to interview in the correct country.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionLondon Packet 3 wait time concern

Thanks for this. Sounds like what we're planning to do--keep checking in, and send the docs as soon as they say they're sending packet 3. When you say you never received it, do you mean that you still never received it even after DoS gave you the word they'd sent it?

On DS-160, how odd. I could have sworn I just established to my satisfaction that while some embassies have switched to it, London was not one of them. Or that it was now in use for most visas except K1/K2. Or...something. Hm...back to quadruple check again...

This is reassuring; thank you.

Correction on the DS-160! I emailed them yesterday and they said: "Fiance (K) visa applicants are not required to file the Form DS-160, they are still required to file the old style forms, DS-156, DS-157 etc."

So follow the instructions on the link I gave you. :)
