I didn't have to give mine any elaborate reasons, except that it seemed to be taking inordinately long and my letter on July 30 said "7 days".

Well technically you don't absolutely need the police report until the interview. I believe you only need to mail in the 3 or 4 forms they give you links too as well as the checklist, but all of the documents like the police report you bring with you to the interview.

Please correct me if I am wrong.



Well, true, but by the time we get the IV-15 checklist, I would want to actually have those things in hand before checking them off and mailing it back to the embassy saying we have them.

There actually is not a tendency for UK filers to be stuck in AP. In fact, the opposite is true. UK filers tend to fly right through the process. AP is quite common for some of the high fraud countries, but the UK is low fraud so most people have no problems. I don't know if something has changed lately. Check out the UK forum and the 2009 interview thread. If UK filers are tending to get AP now, it's news to most of us.

You can see some of us on a chart here: http://apnvc.info/K1.html We've been in AP for 4 weeks. Our case is clean-cut. We cannot think of one reason we'd be in AP for so long. We're assuming it's random and just taking awhile.

I hear you, that's my story exactly. Working so hard to get money for his trip here, a small wedding, and AOS, there is nothing left for a trip to visit before this is all over. Hi everyone, I really need adives...i'm a new member of VJ...After i read a lot of stories in here. I feel very happy that i have someone to talk with and can give me idea...

My fiance went to interview on 2-17-09, and the counslate is unable to issue his a K-1 visa becasue they said his do not fulfill the eligiblity requirements which the consulate has determined, based on his testimony, documents and any other evidence, that we do not have a bona fide relatiohsip. Because of this, the consulate will return his case to the homeland security, CIS for review and possible revocation. It told serval month for CIS to recieve the case.

Finaly i got a letter for the U.S.Department of Homeland Security on 7-10-09 which is NOTICE OF DECSION. It said the petition was approved on 9-20-08 and was forwarded abroad to a U.S. Embassy/Consulate with validity period of four months. Subsequently, his case has been retured to the USCIS with a finding that the beneficiary was not issued the requested K-1 visa. Since the period of validity has now expired i can not be revalidated.

My question is...
Should I go back to China and get marry with him than file a I-130? or
Should i file a new form of I-129F?
What can i do???

USCIS doesn't care what your beneficiary's address is, really. Wait until it ships to the National Visa Center, then call them up to have them make the change over the phone. This is what I did, and it worked fine.

Hey, it's me again. On the NOA - where it says Notice Type: Approval Notice - it also says Valid from 09/18/2009 to 01/18/2010.
Does that mean that I the beneficiary has to have the k1 visa in hand by then or that I have to at least have the interview date by then, or what do the dates mean?? I am in a bit of a panic as Michael lives in Florida, works out of Texas at times and also does work overseas in Africa. Because of this we have been taking a bit longer to get the information to each other. Right now I am gathering the information for the check list for the interview. I need to know if we are okay still.

If you get close to the expiration date and still don't have your interview, you may want to send a request to your embassy to extend the validity period of the 129F. Look here: http://www.visajourn...nd-approval.doc

It's been a while since there was a review for Portal, they did an excellent job today! I write this from an undisclosed location in ND ph34r.gif laughing.gif First off! The Canadian side did a great job dealing with the exportation of my engagement ring (I had to pay a $300 deposit almost a year ago to temporary import it). Too bad the deposit it has to be mailed to a U.S. address in CAD funds *sigh*

There were probably about 3 or 4 cars ahead of me at 2:30 in the afternoon. As I got closer to the booth the customs officers inside kept on looking at me and my car...they were probably like...omg how did she fit all that stuff in her car? Anyways so I pulled up the booth and it was a young guy, I think he's inspected me before. Asks me how I am, I hand over all my paperwork, and he says "You have alot of paperwork here". I said yes its for a fiance visa. He jokes and says "Oh the guys inside will have alot of work to do" and smirks. He says.."Looks like you have everything with you..." Smirks again. I respond um yes and then some! Asks the standard questions, did not ask for my packing list and instructed me to pull over and park to the right and go inside. I was greeted immediately by a very polite and professional middle aged man and he asked me to start filling out the import paper for my car. The computer he was at wouldn't work so he had to move. Asked me when I was getting married, asked if their was a K-2, and one woman CBP asked me why I waited so long to cross with the K-1. I said in order to plan a wedding and give family and friendsnotice, plus save up some $$$. He had me sit down for approximately 20 minutes while he worked on the computer. A male CBP came over and they talked about how long the I-94 is good for, the middle aged man I was greeted by wasn't sure about how long to make it for, his coworker was saying "well make it for 90 days, I think thats how long K1s are good for, its also been a while since I have done one",( I wanted to say...look at the manual!!) it had also been a long time for the first officer whom greeted me.

Took my fingerprints, paid the I-94 fee and was on my way, he peeked at my car to make sure the VIN # matched. I noticed on my I-94 it says MULTIPLE ENTRY. I said to him "K-1's are ONE-TIME entry"? He said "Oh thats just the way the computer prints them out" I basically said oh okay well I don't plan on going back to Canada and re-entering until after filing an adjustment and getting AP anyways.

Sooo...Should I be worried that the I-94 says MULTIPLE ENTRY? I am just curious if it will cause problems when I AOS, or if the right visa class was put into the SAVE system? I guess I am being paranoid...I've read on VJ some people having to go to correct their class of entry due to mistake at POE.

If I was having a bigger wedding, I wouldn't mind inviting my SIL's parents. I've not met one SIL's parents, so not them. Do what you're comfortable with.

so... went dress shopping today... My friend wanted to go with me, and was more excited than me I think. Anyways.... We went to one shop, and i found NOTHING... everything just wasn't right, and looked like #######... then we went to another one... they kept bringing over more and more dresses... Anyways... It's getting to be about an hour before closing time, and I need to make a deposit if I want this dress (considering it's the LAST ONE, I knew that I had to decide kinda fast, cause otherwise with me moving and going on vacation, it'd probably be a month or more before I can get back to the store to try again).... but I know there's another bridal shop down the street so I want to rush there first. Had to go to the bank anyways to take money out of my savings to put the deposit on the dress... So we go to the other shop... I find a dress that I REALLY like... REALLY... I was excited about it (the sales ladies weren't as excited though, cause I caught them at the end of the day, and unfortunately that was a bit of a let down)... and my friend wasn't as excited, but admitted it wasn't her decision, and she really DID like the one that I liked, but liked the other one better (follow? LOL)... anyways even though it was in a really great style, looked nice, flattering, really quite a beautiful dress.. It was $240 more expensive than the one I had decided on at the other store. crying.gif So I had to say no to 'the' dress... and settled for 2nd or 3rd place...

And I had to put down a deposit on the cheaper dress at the other store... because in a week and a 1/2 I'm leaving for a month, and every one was freaking out that it was only 6 months to January as is... so I was like great, if I leave this for another month and a 1/2 later I'm essentially more screwed than I already am, since apparently dresses take 6-8 months to come in. So I REALLY felt pressured, by time constraints, and financial constraints, and I'm settling for a dress that my heart is 'CONTENT' with, but not OVER JOYED with.... And then my fiance freaked out on me for putting a deposit down if I a) didn't overly love the dress, and cool.gif can't afford it right now anyways... I tried to explain to him that I spent three hours looking, which isn't a LONG time, but still... I don't really want to waste money driving up to Toronto to look... don't really want to order online... am apparently running out of time ALREADY... he was angry that I didn't just ask the store to hold it for a day without deposit so I could think about it... I told him they're closed tomorrow. So he says Monday. I say I'm going out of town and won't be back until after they're closed. Tuesday he says... I say I'm meeting with someone after work to see if they can watch my cat next month while I'm gone.. Wednesday, I'm packing, Thursday I'm moving.. suddenly we're at about a week later. So yeah, they can't just 'hold' it for a week without some sort of deposit. And he's upset that I didn't let him in on the situation before making a decision. I tell him most women don't call their husbands while they're trying on dresses to ask him if it's ok. And I'm sorry? But Mr. Dual Citizen isn't HERE when he could EASILY just come back to Canada and we could be together through this whole process of wedding planning and immigration instead of 2,500 miles apart... so screw him.

so yeah... that was my crappy wedding dress shopping experience... sad.gif

I mean, don't get me wrong... the one that I picked is really nice, but it doesn't feel like ME. I started second guessing myself when I looked back at the pics that we snuck in the change room LOL I was like 'oh... hmmph, I don't think I like it anymore'. sad.gif

On the plus side, apparently I can use my deposit on any dress in the store if I decide to change my mind. But again, I'm leaving for a month, so when I get back they'll freak out more on me if they have to order stuff, then I likely won't get the dress in time.. OR I'll just have to shop off the sales rack still as well. This blows. Of course the dress I WANT is at a different store than the one I put the deposit at...

I think sometimes you just have to go with what you can, and not worry so much about the dress. You'll be beautiful!

They do that too, I went for my K-1 interview, 2 days later the CO called by herself to my office to confirm that I worked where I said and inquiried to my supervisor if he knew about my SO and me moving and so on. He knew about my moving but didn't met in person my SO, so he told her what he knew at that moment.

Home phones and cel are in the forms, they can contact you the way they prefer. wacko.gif

That sounds like an invasion of privacy. I can see them asking if you were still employed, but they should not be asking your employer about your personal life.
