Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAny one know about CR189 instead of I751 Removal of conditions

Hi All,
I submitted my I-751 on Sept 16th and had my biometrics done on Oct 12th. Today I checked my status online USCIS.gov and it says "Your Current Case Status for Form CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED"

It's under Initial Review. Is anyone have the same issue especially who files in September month 2011.

Thanks.

Where did you send your initial filing? I was just reading this, which mentioned I-751 and CR189 in the same article, where CR189 refers to a case which has been transferred from Nebraska or Texas SC to California or Vermont: http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

I am not a filer until this month, but that's what I was able to find on the Internets. :) It may be relevant.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 June 2012 Filers

hi guys im filling this 21 of june, that is the first day of my 90 days period, but should i send it before the 21st? so they will receive it by 21st?? and if im with my daughter to came here at the same time its just 1 fee right?? she's only 3 and we came here at the same time and we got our GC at the same time too.. i called the uscis customer service but told me that i have to pay $590 each of us, then i post a forum here some comments told me that if i came here at the same time as my daughter then she will be in my I-751 and just 1 fee but she have to pay the biometrics... is this right??? i just want to make sure...

and do i really need a affidavit letter from my friends when i came here for proof??? thanks in advance :)

If you have good proof of a relationship otherwise, you don't need the affidavits. If your other evidence is a bit lacking then include them.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 June 2012 Filers

Ciao again,

how's everyone doing?
I have a question, Does the 90 day window mean you have to file on that day (90days before GC expires)? If not, is there a reason for doing it right then? Can you wait a week or 2 after the 90 day before mark? I dont think I'll be ready thats why Im asking.
Thanks :help:

You should file within in the 90-day period before your greencard expires.

Your packet should be sent to arrive in the USCIS office in advance of your expiration date. So, you don't want to think it's good enough to just get it in the post the day before it expires.

Otherwise, you have to supply a letter outlining the reason you are late to the USCIS with your packet. Don't put yourself through having to do that. :)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsEveryone going through Administrative Processing in ISLAMABAD
QUOTE (MARM @ Nov 6 2009, 01:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
OK, so I made sure quite a few times before I decided to post the good news here (especially since last time it was a lie, so I didn't want to get my hopes up too soon):

My fiance received clearance from DOS today. He received an email from the London IV unit (the email address was not from LondonConsular@state.gov, it was from LondonIV@state.gov) saying that they received clearance today for him and that "we will issue your visa shortly and send it with the courier in the next few days". Now to confirm this, I called DOS in the morning (15 minute wait wacko.gif ) and the DOS rep told me "pending" and then I asked her whether the system shows anything about receiving a clearance from DOS for my fiance and I told her about the email he received, and she confirmed that yes it is INDEED TRUE yes.gif . And then again, (call it Obsessive-Compulsive if you want smile.gif ) I called DOS again just now (only 3 minute wait!) and the DOS rep told me that it is still pending and then I asked her again about whether the system shows up his clearance and I narrated the email to her and she also confirmed that yes that is correct, DOS gave clearance for him today. And then I decided to quiz her because I wanted to know why it showed pending when the London emailed me with their intention to issue the visa, she told me that DOS will continue to say "pending" until the visa is actually printed. So even if someone was approved at the interview and the embassy says (like in London's case) that they will send the visa within 5 working days, if you call DOS after your interview, they will say pending because as she told me "its not over until it is really over" meaning until it is physically in the passport, they cannot say issued. So this is the info she gave me and she also said the embassy knows first before DOS, even though DOS gave the clearance, but in the case of printing the visa, the embassy will make a note in the system and then she can say "visa issued". But yes, he has received clearance from DOS kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif
ALHAMDULILLAH!!!
We are hoping and holding our breaths until he actually receives the visa in hand. We hope it is the beginning of this coming week InshaAllah. Still praying and hoping....

OMG! I'm SOOO excited for you! I was hoping everything would work out before you had to go through any transfer process. smile.gif YAY!!!! star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif

Another thing some people have been able to do is looking on the back of their cancelled check...if they sent a personal check. Usually when USCIS cashes your check your case number is imprinted on the back. If you did this, maybe you can watch for the check to clear the bank and see if you can look at your cancelled check.

We have a cashed check from CSC and no case number anywhere noted on it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMoving...
My fiancé is moving from one UK address to another. We just received NOA1 a few weeks ago on our 129F. I'm a little confused about how to go about changing his address, and whom to change it with.

I went here: https://egov.uscis.g...ction=coa.Terms and it said this:

"USCIS can only accept a change of address for domestic addresses within the United States. If you have moved to a foreign address, please contact the nearest U.S. Consulate/Embassy."

I opened the form for a non-US citizen anyway, and it, of course, only has states to choose as addresses (they weren't kidding).

Do I need to wait till the NVC has shipped our case off to London to change the address? Has anyone run into this before?

Thanks, guys!

QUOTE (Rich and Bey @ May 11 2009, 05:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
i do not understand what a waiting period would have to do with it because by the time it is approved it takes more then three months so the state where it would be filed would be ok. i was divorced january 20th and i sent it in february 20th. it is now may 11th so the three months would be over so why would that be a problem?

When I called the Dept of Immigration to talk about something else to do with the application, they went through a stream of questions. One of them had to do with how long I had been divorced, and they made a point of saying that I could not file until the 90 day waiting period was up.

I wouldn't risk it.

After 3 months and a 1/2 my case has been approved.... I have no words to explain such blessing. Exactly one day after my Birthday the case was approved. I must admit that this is the best birthday gift I’ve ever received in my life. I am so excited, happy, and pleased with the speed of this process and I know that if God permits Mayra & I will be together sooner than later.

Despite the fact that I have been checking my e-mail anxiously to see the approval, today the approval caught me by surprise because I was checking my e-mail for some Skype records…. I am happy and I wish the same success to others like me and the ones in similar processes.
Thank you for all the positive comments…. And the support received through this FORUM.

This seems too good to be true...

I received my NOA1 just on 5/26/09, and today I already received the NOA2, dated 6/17/09! It says that it's an Approval Notice, has the validity of four months, and even has the A number on it like the sample NOA2 I've seen here on the website. The only thing that looks different is that in the text of the letter, it doesn't say it's been sent to the NVC, it says it's been sent to "the listed consulate." I am nervous to start rejoicing just yet because this seems to have gone through so quickly, and I'm wondering if this difference in text is some kind of indicator or something having gone wrong? Thank you so much for any help!

Rejoice. That's it. Doesn't matter the wording about the consulate, ALL approved petitions go through NVC. Consider them the state department mail room.

Wow, less than 30 days.

And ahead of everyone else. Someone @ USCIS must like you. Congrats!

Not enough data is being put into the system probably to give you a more accurate predicition.

Remember - VJ entries are a very small number of the actual cases the service centers are dealing with.

(there could be 1000's that are moving faster than yours)

Plus, I would guess that some petitions might take longer to get through than others.

Or... the person reviewing the case called in sick a couple days, then had to get caught up when they came back.

A big fiasco happened at the hole punching machine. biggrin.gif (this would happen if I was the one doing it)

Could be anything, couldn't it. biggrin.gif

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

On May 11, 2009, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from May 11, 2009 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee.

Thank you to all who will share their thoughts..i'll appreciate it a lot..im so confused why its not updATING to Pending application status? i believe that after two months i should get my no2. But its been two months since we solved this issue but how come its still the same? is this mean our two months that supposed to be our estimated approval or no2 came to waste? so 9 months for this whole visa process will now be 11 months? dam! crying.gif

We filed on April 1 in CSC and are not approved yet. Neither are a lot of April filers. They seem to be working on March people right now.

Wait time @ CSC is currently 5 months (hopefully less) for K1 petitions. 2 months would be a miracle without an expedite, IMO.

I just wish that they could finish March 09 CSC filers, so those folks can finally move on with the rest of their journey. So, far July is a good month for approvals. Maybe August 09 could be a good month for my approval. kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

My NOA2 may 8th . Csc is run by the feds and not the state. So for now lets be happy that workers are not being ask to stay home 3 days a month. Seams to be what box at uscis get taken off the shelf next . Good luck to all..

How is this information gathered, I am curious. CSC being run by the Feds... Looking at the USCIS site you will see Starlight that the processing time for K1 CSC is within 5 months and they are working on petitions now they received till May 31st 09 smile.gif

The USCIS is an agency in the federal government, if that's what you are asking (ref: USCIS.gov - About Us)

I think that's true... everyone's petitions from May 31 backwards are being worked. It would be extra handy if each approval came in date order, but for whatever reason, it's just going randomly. smile.gif

If you click into some of those profiles, you'll see their "last visited" date was ages ago. I think they decided not to use the site, for whatever reason.

Just received email this afternoon, as of July 2, NOA2. Thanks everyone for support and such. There were times when my SO and I were at each other's throat and just not in good spirit, but I think things are looking better now.

My wishes go to everyone else still waiting.

Congrats! Onwards and upwards!

I think everyone under this stressful situation may have moments of emotional release. Good luck to you during the rest of your journey. smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports4 touches in a row
QUOTE (SamAndDorothy @ Jul 15 2009, 05:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
In the last 4 days, i have had a touch everyday, even on a sunday.I hope that is a good sign that my noa2 is coming.I still never got my rfe in the mail, but i did get a email saying my case resumed.I guessed and sent them a fresh i-129f.I guess they never sent it out.

My question is if they sent me a email on the 2nd about a rfe, they got my responce on the 6th.And sent me a email on the 10 saying my case was resumed. So,they must not send the mail out the day they send the email saying you got a rfe?If they did i would have gotten it by now.

Anyways, i am thankfull something is going on with my paperwork.Anyone else experienced so many touches together?

We've had 3 since the last week of June. Good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC, Mistakes and Booking Interview.... Oh the fun!
QUOTE (Britt and Duv @ Aug 23 2009, 12:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi!

I am one of the many lucky couples who have recently been put in Additional Processing. The lovely lady on the phone said that she didnt have a timeline lol (no matter how many different ways I worded my question), and she also added that ALL applicants go through this. I was just bemused as a lot of apps have been through NVC in only a matter of days and yes, my fiancee received that letter smile.gif

Funny thing is, it takes me about 3 times calling NVC to get any information, because whoever filed the paperwork on the system got my fiancee's Date of Birth wrong - I've emailed them a copy of her passport but they are yet to update it. Despite this, some of the agents answering the phone ignore the fact that I have told them the wrong date, and tell me that our case has been there for 13 days and that since a few years now this has been the norm - I am just wondering if the reason I am waiting is because they have Britt's D.O.B wrong and they can't verify who she is etc.. funny considering they have ALL of the evidence they need - even the CORRECT date on the I-129F, Passport, birth cert.. need i go on? lol. Would this be a reason do you think?

Anyway, rant over whistling.gif

Just one last query, once i receive the Packet 3 checklist (I already have my paperwork ready) and send it back - do I just sit and wait to receive the packet 4 with an interview date in it or can I call sooner to book one asap?

Thanks guys..

We're in the same club, since July 29th. We are hanging out here http://www.visajourn...p;#entry3242321, and we'd love to see your progress when you come out of AP. Quite a few London-bound people stuck in AP.

Ian and I have been through all the possibilities of why we would be held up and can't think of a thing which would cause such a long delay. We can only say, "It's entirely random".

Good luck for a speedy departure from NVC.

I'm so sorry sad.gif We're in "additional processing" too, with no time frame for completion.... but we spent 5 months at USCIS, not two years. That's terrible.

(moving to K-1 Progress)

someone told me not to worry its normal and normally takes only a week to get out but with our track record of hang ups on our case im not thinking i should get excited about thinking it will only be a week i have heard some real horror stories about additional processing too

sara

Everyone goes through AP at NVC. Most people fly through NVC within a few days. We were there 35 days, but not many people spend that much time there. It seemed like forever, but we survived.

I have not seen anyone go over 35 days recently.

Don't worry.

I hope you fly right through.

Well, barring some people updating their timelines and adding NOA2's for the past week, I can tell you from walking back over the past year that NO time during the past *year* has there been so many days without a NOA2. Not Christmas week, July 4, memorial day, labor day, new years. The longest I saw (I looked) was i think 4 days without. This is driving me absolutely nuts!

Welcome to H-1B season, where becoming a non-immigrant worker only takes 2 months. smile.gif http://www.uscis.gov...0004718190aRCRD

I see a person here and there getting NOA2, though.

Hang in there... smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHas anyone tried to use NVC's automated system?
QUOTE (brlukath @ Sep 16 2009, 04:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think it says that the "automated" part does not work for K-1s. You have to talk to an operator, there 'til 12am EST.

The K1's absolutely cannot be checked via the automated system. I agree.

Hi everyone,

Wondering if any of you may know whether NVC sends multiple cases going to the same embassy (will know on Friday when fiance calls). I don't know for sure that they sent it but there is a package going to Montreal and the weight is 7.0 lbs. One case won't be that heavy, so I am deducing that that means they sent multiple files to Montreal. Any insight will be appreciated! Thanks!

Tina

According to the posts here, quite likely yes.

multiple files shipped to embassy

Yes it is. One of my VJ friends and my petition went out in the same packet. We were shipped from NVC on the same day with only one packet going to London that day. We arrived on the same day and even had packet 3 issuance on the same day. smile.gif

Our petition was 2.2 lbs. The shipment that went that day was 9 lbs.
