K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	April 2009 K-1 Filers	I received my letter from NVC today saying they received our case and it will be sent out to the embassy within 7 days (not necessary the case... it's their standard language). Just to recap: NOA2 (CA) - July 20 NVC arrival (CA to NH) - July 29 NVC letter received (NH to NE) - Aug 5 I thought that might be interesting for people with earlier approvals who haven't had their case received yet. Hopefully USCIS has a way of tracking the shipment to the NVC, or maybe they have stacks they're sorting through and things are just out of order. The wedding planning is fun and definitely takes my mind off the hurry up and wait process, but it's a good reminder all the same. Oh-if all goes even half-way well as far as the rest of the process goes, I realized that I will be back in Senegal during the month of Ramadan-an Islamic 30 day religous observation. It's a beautiful, but really solemn month and Lamine and I realized that we will not be able to do any form of engagement celebration during that time. We'll have to wait for the next time we visit-which will probably be in about two year until removal of conditions. I was really hoping this was one thing we could do for his family before he leaves, but we'll see. It just sucks because none of them will ever qualify for a visitor visa to come to our wedding here. We can send them video footage, but it's not the same....I wish there was a way that our families could celebrate together. Sooooo lets all have a good week...and see how it goes in the mail! LOL... You are good at the jumping up and down thing! Yay! "pressies" (as they say). My recent packet (our Affadavit of Support) took a week. The mail is so up-and-down between the two countries. Hopefully, a good week is in the works! It is absolutely correct, though, that K1's do NOT show up in the automated message line. I checked, just to be sure they hadn't recently changed procedure, and the automated still says they don't have our case, when the operator says they do. Have a good week people. Anyways, I figure I will get my NOA2 within the next 3-4 weeks, realistically speaking... I'm getting nervous when I realize that I will be going away for a month in just FOUR DAYS!!!! I have so much to do.. ack! As for the first dance, I don't know what we will do. We want to do something kind of fun and different. Have batted around some ideas, but not entirely sure yet. Oh, also, I'm a little sad today... I'm at my parents house right now, because they had a gathering of family for a goodbye BBQ for my brother and sister in law, and their 2 children (my niece and nephew obviously). They are moving to Cambodia this month. Today was the last time I'll see them for.... I have no idea how long... a year, minimum. My niece is only 3 months old, and my nephew is 2 and a 1/2. They will be completely different the next time I see them, and my niece won't know who I am, and my nephew, well... i'm just hoping he remembers. I'm really sad about that.... My brother is my only sibling, and my fiance doesn't have any siblings, so that's a big percentage of my immediate family that's away now! I think Neil is on a 3-week thing. You should post the pics, or at least send me one. I'm glad for your trip. You'll have so much fun putting all your plans together, and best of all, seeing your fiance! I did the above to track the shipment. I found a shipment going to London on the same date as our case went. It was delivered at 1.45 this afternoon however it said it was delivered to Lambeth? I know that the US embassy isn't in Lambeth. Anyone who has used this method before know if Lambeth is the correct final destination for the package? You might try asking this in the UK forum. When I called them they said that they couldnt get into my file because someone else was working on it! However, after asking a couple of questions about another matter, they said that they could now get into my file. Apparently, I put Dublin, Ireland as the consulate instead of London (I live in Belfast in Ireland!) and someone was changing it to the proper embassy as I was on the call. I havent called them back yet to see if they have sent it off to London yet. I will do that in the morning and I let you guys know. Anyone seen what the Packet 3 looks like when it comes from the London Embassy? I have a copy of it from the Bangkok embassy that I got from somewhere but it would be cool to see what I should be getting.
