I had my medical, They done all the same as you except i never had the genital examination. Not sure why and if this is going to cause a problem. Maybe because i had my daughters with me for their medicals. But a little worried now as everyone else had one. :/

Maybe as you had your daughters with you they assumed you were a female :)

Have my medical on Thursday and seem to be coming down with a heavy cold.......typical!!!!!

Ahhh well, will still go seeing as its already cost £100 for train tickets plus the 95 Id have to pay to reschedule.

Im terrified of this part seeing as I have had depression with self harm and alcohol abuse in the past( 4 years sober)......doctor has written me a letter with the 'magic' words "is not a threat to herself or others" but Im still aware Im likely to have to see a psych doc. Im so afraid I'll be penalised for not dealing with what was a difficult in my life. Jeez I just want all this probing to be over :crying:

good luck for today!

Had my medical his morning at 8:50am at Bentinck Mansions :)

Apart from them not actually arriving and opening till like 8:49am everything went quickly and smoothly.
I had a really lovely blonde women who had an accent. She completed my physical and said everything was in order and I was fine. Glad I was prepared for the peek a boo of my lady parts by reading other peoples medical reviews though otherwise I may have been a little freaked out lol

X-Ray was fine and all vaccinations were up to date.

They said my results would be with the embassy by the 4th January because of the Christmas period which is fine by me. I was chatting to a courier outside though when I was waiting for them to open. He was there for ages (id arrived 30min early and he was there before me!), and just before they arrived to open he gave up and left! Hope this doesn't affect other peoples chances of having their results delivered to the embassy!

Time to have my vacation in NZ, then next step, the interview!!!!

You can take your doctor list and a piece of paper from Tesco's or Boots and Knightsbridge will combine the information onto your DS-3024. no worries about that. Just get something on paper that confirms you got a flu shot and the date.

Good Idea :) booked in for the 21st Dec at 8.50am! Good thing I live in greater London/surrey! The tubes are going to be a nightmare that time of day not to mention the weekend before Christmas!

There's a lot to take in at this point so keep reviewing the website and that pinned thread for K1s.

Your vaccination sheet (DS-3025) will be marked [x] incomplete [x]may be eligible for blanket waiver
They pretty much all are because you don't get every single shot on the list, thus incomplete. You are eligible for the blanket waiver on all the shots for kids, for example, because they aren't appropriate for an adult. So the "incomplete" marking is of no consequence as long as you get the "blanket waiver" box also ticked. And you will because that's standard.

If you want to be super sure, then get the flu jab at Tesco's or similar. It doesn't matter the season you enter the US. The dates that count are your 1.)medical date and 2.) the date the AOS important dude pulls your file out of the box to give it approval (after a long time on the shelf).
If it's not flu season at either of those times, then no flu shot needed.

So for you, two examples--

1.)Medical December 2012 (flu season) but 2.)AOS final review August 2013 (not flu season) No shot needed

1.)Medical December 2012 (flu season) but 2.)AOS final review October 2013 (flu season again) Shot needed

I really don't know when you will file AOS and how long it will take. Many procrastinate filing after they get here. So you are bringing yourself closer and closer to next flu season. If you hit the double whammy of flu season for medical and flu season on final review, then they could ask you to get a flu shot. Is your AOS dude going to be a stickler?...maybe not. I doubt they would pay it that much attention, but there's ####### people in all occupations, so if your guy is super strict, then you could end up with a late RFE instead of an approval on the big day your file gets pulled from the box if it is after October 1, 2013 (the start of flu season again). The big unknown is when will your AOS case get final review.

Does that clear up your blonde head? :P

My blonde head is perfectly cleared up now. Im tempted to grab the flu shot just to be on the safe side but ive already got my full vaccine list so that wont be on there ¬¬

Police confirmed they mailed my certificate today so im about to book the medical. Im just worried they will forward it on to the embassy and then they will forget about it :(

You ring them on the phone. Find the info onthe embassy website which you should be scouring for all the details you need right now http://london.usemba...xamination.html . Then if you look on the right column of that web page, there is a link for more information which brings up this document http://photos.state....18a_medical.pdf
It has the phone number, map, details.

There's no reason to wait on the police certificate before you call. Just book it for a couple of weeks from now when you know the certificate will have arrived.

Silly me :) I knew i'd seen that before! Thanks Nich-Nick! I've replied back to the police certificate receipt email I was sent asking on a rough estimate of when it should arrive but I think I shall ring and book my medical today :D

Will my vaccinations show as incomplete when when they send my results to the embassy because of the flu even though I plan on AOS after 1st April. I don't want this to have an impact on anything so if I need to get the shot I will.

United KingdomLondon Medical - Knightsbridge Doctors

Flu shot is a little different because of the seasonal thing. The adjudicator's hand book details it but I'm going to give you the basic bottom line--
Indeed your DS-3025 sheet is incomplete without the flu jab during flu season. So that means a flu jab and paying a civil surgeon to fill out a new vaccination sheet. BUT if it is no longer flu season when the adjudicator picks up your AOS case to evaluate it, he is supposed to waive the flu shot by what is written in their handbook. It is similarly detailed in their handbook examples that if a shot was required but no longer required on the date of adjudication, then it doesn't have to be done. Example an 18 year old needs Hep B, but if he turns 19 by the time his AOS is up for approval, then it doesn't matter about his Hep B shot because it is no longer a requirement for him. Same with a flu jab if it is in longer flu season, it's not required.

Just time your AOS filing, so by the date the approval rolls around, it will be April 1 (flu season over) and your flu shot will no longer be required. I got a PM just recently from somebody I suggested that to and asked him to report back if he did. He reported back that he got the greencard without a flu shot, using his DS-3025, even though it was flu season when that form was signed. That's just to let you know I try to keep up with specific scenarios.

Okay, so that doesn't mean you have to wait until April 1 to mail your AOS because it's going to sit in a box a long time before anybody reviews it for approval. I haven't looked at AOS timelines lately but it's going to take months. It's not based on filing date but the date it is reviewed for approval.

Ok so I think I am asking the dumbest question ever but....how do you book your medical

I have my case number from the NVC but it hasn't been forwarded on to the consulate yet and I haven't received "packet 3".
I'm just waiting for my police certificate to arrive, then I shall be booking but I'm unsure how :(

Also If everything goes smoothly I'm hoping to get my interview quite soon and arrive in the US in the middle of March. I am up to date with all shots except the flu cause I was thinking it wouldn't matter if I enter the US after flu season. If we marry at the beginning of April, I am then out of flu season and just to clarify, AOS should be fine yes?

Sorry for being a dumb blonde guys :(

United KingdomCan UK beneficiary contact NVC?

Hi there,

So basically USCIS is giving us bull ####### and can't give my fiancee (USC) a straight answer. One person said we will post the NOA2 confirmation letter to her by this Friday, and another one said we sent Packet 3 to your fiancee (me) three weeks ago but we sent it to number 42 (my house number is 41) and they did an RTS.

So tired of this #######, is there anyway that I, the beneficiary, can contact the NVC to see if they have my case? Do I need to give them any reference numbers because guess what, the NOA1 number they gave us doesn't work when trying to track it online.

The number I have to contact them is 001-202-663-1225.

Thank you for your time :)

Don't worry too much about the fact your case cant be tracked. I couldn't track mine online and it was so frustrating! Kept saying it didn't exist but then I checked it and it was available and approved! So keep your chin up :)

You can contact the NVC - +12026631225, Press 1 and then 0. Give them your receipt number and maybe mention that your not sure if its been approved or not as the people at USCIS are saying different things.

I guess its worth a shot :D good luck!

United KingdomForms After NOA2

I have some distant relatives and one of my 3rd degree cousin (LPR only) is willing to be a joint sponsor. I hope that helps. I still keep on looking for someone. We are looking, just not giving up with this. Posted Image

Any sponsor is better than no sponsor but yes don't give up. I dont know much about the sponsorship part of it as my fiance is above the poverty line but is it just family members who can sponsor? what about friends? are they allowed to sponsor?

United KingdomForms After NOA2

Too bad none of them :(
He couldn't even get a second job because he doesn't have fixed schedules. You're lucky cuz he's in the Air Force. My hubby wouldn't be able to enter military because he's deaf. Got my NOA2 47working days but 66 calendar days.

I know the military cant accept everyone cause of obvious reasons when it comes to the type of work but if he ever wanted to join I think there are aspects of the military that he could work in. Like office wise on base and I doubt he would be deployed. Might be worth looking into if he ever fancied it. Could he not find another job that doesnt work on fixed schedules...then merge them together?? Or maybe work out a rota with his current employment?? I know it would slow down the visa process but could he not leave his current job and find another or 2 that would put him above the poverty line?? Savings? Prove that you have enough to survive until you can find work?? Hmmm there must be something.

United KingdomForms After NOA2

Philippines. Was your case been expedited? This process wouldn't be as smooth as possible we could ever imagine. I've learnt that my husband falls on poverty line. So we basically need co-sponsorship and it's definitely hard to get. The last time I ad my vaccination of tetanus was 4yrs ago. I might pop in the GP clinic and ask if I could have a booster.

My fiance is in the US Air force and is on active duty at the moment and even though we looked into it being expedited it was already approved before we sent off any documents. Our only guess is they did it anyway cause it was very fast! Oh no!! Is there not a member of his family who can be sponsor?? You shouldnt need your tetanus if your last one was 4 years ago though. I got my Tdap (DTP) and MMR boosters about an hour ago. My arm aches now haha.

I have vaccination records issue. My mother told me that I had complete vaccination all thorough out my childhood.. and I did booster myself as I am a nurse. How on earth can I prove that if my mother said it's all gone(records) due to flooding in my origin country. I don't want to get those shots all over again (those are Tdap vaccines). I am waiting for the case number as well. I've learnt that we are able to phone them and ask about the LND case number but it might be too soon. Posted Image

Where is your original country?? I went to the doctors and they had all my vaccine records on file so they just printed me one out but I'm getting another one today after my vaccines so its even more up to date :D we received our NOA2 on the 26th...28days since NOA1!!! So happy :) I'm going to give it a few more days then ring the NVC. You might not have to get the Tdap again but you are suppose to get them every 10 years anyway. I'm a year overdue mine!

United KingdomForms After NOA2
Hi all :D

As some of you may know our NOA2 was approved!! WOOP!! So quick!!
My fiance has filled out the I-134 form and is in the process of getting tax transcripts (not sure how long this will take as he is on active duty in Afghan but fingers crossed), and I have filled out pretty much all forms like the DS-157 etc.

I am sending off for my police certificate today and I have my booster vaccines booked for next Tuesday.

Is the best thing now just to wait for our case to be forwarded to the NVC and the Embassy before I go any further?? I know I have to wait until my police certificate comes back as I need this for the medical. I'm just gathering everything I need ready for "Packet 3" but just wondering if everything else will be processed just as quick as our NOA2 was. Am I missing anything? I created an excel checklist spreadsheet and I think I have everything :)

I know it states to contact the NVC after 2 weeks but cause it was processed SO quickly do you think they would receive it quicker?? Can i contact them from London or should my fiance call from Afghan when he has a chance??

United KingdomPacking your UK life away ?

You might want to check the airlines that fly to any of the airports around your fiance's in Florida & be open to driving a few more miles if need be.
Once when I flew to Pittsburgh with Delta, which is a smaller airport, I checked in at Heathrow & though I had to pick my luggage & recheck it in for Immigration & Customs at JFK as well as use a partner connecting airline, the connection & cost were already all covered from Heathrow.

This might be a possibility but then again every other airport is miles out! Id normally have to fly to Miami, Atlanta or Dallas in order to get to Pensacola. New Orleans is only 3 hours away so its closer than any of the other airports even in FL! Orlando is 7hours drive etc and ATL is 6hours. I'll start checking with BA about extra luggage and maybe instead of suitcases il get big bags :D

Luckily when me and my fiance go on vacation together we can put up to 3 bags through in his name....for free! Because he is in the milatary he gets 3 bags, one up to 99lbs! Where is his luggage allowance when I need it haha
MmmBlondieFemaleUnited Kingdom2013-01-23 05:23:00
United KingdomPacking your UK life away ?

Obviously we flew US to DK, but the rates are the same DK to US for extra luggage. We flew Icelandair, not only was it really affordable but each person got 2 big suitcases and extra suitcases were cheaper than shipping. They also charged us less than $60 to bring a full bike just wrapped in plastic over. I can't recommend them enough.

My only issue is my fiance lives at the top of Florida near his Air Force base so our nearest airport is Pensacola...which isn't a hub and is tiny! I have to have connecting flights and I don't know how many airlines actually fly there since I've only ever flown with BA and American Airlines. I might have to look into which airlines give me the best allowance and hope when i transfer flights it will all go through smoothly!

By the way...does NOLA stand for New Orleans Louisiana?? Nola is what we call New Orleans and its only 3hours from our place in the US :D

Does anyone know or have experience with taking just a lot of luggage?

I will not be taking any furniture etc just clothes and personal items. I'm hoping to pack everything up in luggage that I will take with me on my flight over but I know all airlines these day charge a fortune for extra luggage. Is it best to call the airline I will be flying with to see if I can arrange something before hand??

I don't think il need a shipping company or courier for a few luggage bags.

And jobs. Everyone works 10 yards from their front door and there's always enough jobs for everyone.

On the square they all have low paying jobs or no job at all but money is no problem. Max Branning never seemed to have a job at all for years but he could afford to buy a half million pound house in London and support his ever growing family and girlfriends and can always hand out money like sweeties to anyone. Now he owns the car lot but never seems to be there and never sells cars but the money comes rolling in. I wish my life was that easy.
