IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers
Hello to everyone here on VJ. My wife and I filed our I-130 on March 12 of 2010 and we received our NOA-1 on March 17. We are still in the waiting stage. I have talked to a guy I met that works for the NVC and he said that the wait time for NOA-2 is about 3 months. Hope that helps any of you out here.

To the person who got married in Hong Kong. I also married my wife in Hong Kong. Keep in touch with me so we can track the process together. Who knows maybe our spouses may see each other during the interview process.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresYM archive and audio/video calls ?

Ok, so me and hubby talk alot on YM, that is chatting and also audio/video calls. I understood that i can just go to archive, save it as text files and print it out for evidence. Is there a way to track our calls also , which would show calls history, length, etc? Thanks.

you should be able to do that also from the archive section of YM. but i think it only shows when the call was made not how long the call lasted. I can double check and let you know. I am also doing the same thing.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIRS Impact

I going to apply for the CR-1 Spouse Visa so that me and my sweetheart Khan from Thailand can be together. I have filed bankrupsy two years ago. I now have a good steady job in Resort Management. I also am working to a resolution with IRS on back taxes that are owed from a tax audit over two years ago. Will this have any effect on their decision for approva.

you should be okay as long as you are making arrangements with IRS for settlement of the debt and that you are making the allotted amount for income.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEver filed a petition for this alien?

Hello Everyone Thank you so much.. I've been sweating ever since I've received a rejection. I know in the grand scheme of things more is to come..

Since I received an official NoA1 rejection.. Now that I am filling out my forms.. (Since the month has passed, A lot of changes employment wise have occurred). I realize when the I-130 asks if I Ever filed a petition for this alien.. I do not know if I qualify to answer Yes. Since the petition never received acceptance.. Does this mean I can put no?

If you have ever submitted an application for your family member and USCIS sent you a rejection letter and it has a case number assigned to it, the answer would be yes you need to state that you have filed a petition for that person before.
Because during the background check they will find out that you were rejected before and if you dont put that you filed, they will think your trying to be dishonest.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow much is your phone bill?
I am not sure how much my wife spends on calling cards. Because she is the one that calls me the most. I prefer to talk on Yahoo, or Skype video. One because it is cheaper like (FREE) But since we can't be near a computer all the time to chat online. We rely on text messages on our phones through the day and night. Which is funny, because I am always having to remind her about the time difference.

One time I told her to call me at 9pm and she though I was telling her to call me at 9pm her time. Which you can all guess I was sleeping at that time.

I think I spend on intl. text about 10 to 15 dollars a month.

AOS packet is separate than IV packet, Anthony.

Here is the details of it: http://www.visajourn..._live_in_the_US

Loto

Loto, I know that. My question was do I need to make a copy of the whole AOS packet like I would with the IV packet.

Do you need to submit a copy of the AOS packet like you would the IV packet? Or do you just send the original packet and your copies of tax returns, W2's, pay stubs and original letter of employment.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJuly 2010 CR-1 filers
Okay all here is my little update.

So Today I called the Customer Service Center and spoke to a lady by the name of Sharon. After I explained my situation to her and advised her that I was a former government employee, she escalated my call to an immigration officer by the name of Gonzales. Now this is the information that I was given to the delay.

1. CSC is on complete overload with I-130 petitions and they have sent out an alert to all customer service agents that anyone calling to wait an additional 20 days before starting a service request for escalation.

2. This is a myth-buster. The applications for Haitian and Chilean nationals is not affecting the process of I-130 applications. This is because USCIS has set up a completely different section to handle only those applications.

3. Immigration Officer confirmed that the online site is a piece of Junk!!!!! And should not be used as a sole purpose of checking.

4. This was interesting to hear. That they often will pull applications for quality assurance and that will slow the process down for that applicant. (LUCK OF THE DRAW FOR THAT UNLUCKY SOUL).

5. Here is another interesting fact. Immigration Officer says that the USCIS timeline does follow CSC actual processing timeline as of today. Also stated that CSC will be on overload until around October 2010.

6. He advised that anyone that has passed the 5 month mark and 20 days should start calling so a service request can be placed.

7. (Local offices) Immigration officer stated that not much can be done from a local office. All they will do is the same thing that he did for me over the phone.

8. New information. When you call the 1-800-375-5283 number. All that person does on the phone is the same thing we do, which is check the online status board . The only difference is that they can attempt to place the service request before sending to an immigration officer for escalation.

Well I am still going to make my appointment on Monday, just to see if what he told me was the gospel truth. But he did tell me that my application was updated as of July 22. Which the online status board does not show.

So I hope this gives all of you some insight to what the heck is going on with the CSC office.
