That would be your best bet.

Good luck to your immigration journey and you are almost due for NOA2!

Yeah I hope it will be this week since I am closing in on 5 months waiting now.

9 more days until I hit the 5 month mark.

You can get ITIN later and amend your past return if you want.

When I did my taxes in 2007, I applied her ITIN along with the tax forms. It processed and accepted the return. We were married in Nov 2007 and she was here in Green Card & SSN in Jul 2008.

Loto

Ture, or I could wait for her to get here and just do the amendment after she is here and she will have a SSN by then. So no need to apply for the ITIN

Oh ok. If I get them back then I don't mind sending the originals at all. Thank you sorry I just had to ask to double check.

Oh wow.. ummm electronic processing?

The electronic processing is only available in certain countries like China and I think Canada. Darnell could give you a better answer about it.

MFJ will put more dough in your pocket since tax brackets are higher for each dollar taxed and exemptions/allowances are much higher than the rest.

As per IRS, if you are married by 31st Dec of that calendar year, you can file MFJ. The spouse need not be physically present in the U.S.

People will opt for MFS, if they wish to file separate and owe/refund money separately due to personal reasons and which is the worst in terms of financial benefits.

Loto

I tried that before and IRS rejected my filing because she didnt have an ITIN number

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to post this comment I got from another Visa site that I am on. If memory serves me correctly, he works for NVC. When I read this comment from him I felt I should post it here.

Despite the optimistic estimate I posted in May on this thread, I am now seeing I-130 petition approvals exceeding 5-month timeframes, though not by much.

Unless there is some indication of a "Request for Evidence" indicated on the USCIS status page, I still think it is too early for you to consider "calling out the Marines."

--Ray B

This might be some insight to why it is taking so long for us to get our approvals

Anthony, I was feeling bad because of the progress of my application ... Well after checking yours out I feel good THANKS!!! I needed a boost. :hehe: I am hoping that things move for all of yah ASAP ... Tomorrow should be a good day. RIGHT>

Well Tom I am glad that I was able to give you that needed boost. But beware when I get to the NVC stage whenever that may be  Because since I have all this time on my hands waiting for our approval notice. I have been able to get all the paperwork together.

But at the rate that USCIS is going I won't get my approval until it is time for me to file my 2010 taxes. :bonk:

Sorry I guess I should have used my code name so that we would have all been approved by now.

Well hello to all of my march family memebers. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I had a long weekend at work, but now I am back to sitting here at the computer checking to see if I have any kind of notice from USCIS. And of course NOTHING!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

Well I am down to 10 more days before my application is past the 5 month processing time. It sure would be nice to hear something this week.

I was reading a Jan filer post that was talking about how they still have not received there NOA2. Now that is really sad and upsetting. Since that person says that they have contacted USCIS and was told that they just need to wait another 30 to 45 days. I am sorry but something is really wrong with how they treat people that take the initative to get married first as a way to show the government that the couple is really wanting to be with each other.

Maybe I am just ranting here, but for years the K-1 visas have always been processed faster then an IR1/CR1 visa. I feel that it should be the other way around and that K-1 visas should have to wait longer to get an approval.

okay that is my rant for the day. :D

but again you might be right Tom, maybe it is just another way our government just does to keep us quiet and not say anything.

Best way to keep people from complaining is to publish some useless information that does not make any sense so that we will feel stupid and to scared to ask. :help: :bonk:

Well everyone time for me to get to work. Talk you all again tomorrow. Hopefully I will have some good news to share with everyone. If not I again will be along just for the ride.

Wow after reading the link you provided I feel real stupid. I guess its hard for Homeland Security to put out information thats clear and easy to understand...Baffle them with Bull S**T :bonk:

Exactly my point also.

But from reading it I figured that it is telling you that 2A would be USC filing for spouses. Which in turn would make us exempt to the visa chargeability per country limits.

Right So maybe They reached a limit. I don't know Just saying as God knows what is going on over there.

just wondering guys n gals, do u think this is based on country? I mean could there be a limit on how many they can approve in a month? Just thinking

There is a country limit for visas. If you look up the state department web site. It gives you the breakdown for allowed visas to be issued per country. But for immediate relatives you still get priority over the number of visas issued. T

That is what I gathered from ready the visa bulletin

there you go Teya I agree and I know our system would be swift and painless......taking applications and

WWW.VISAJOURNEY.COM.........LMAOOOOOOOOOO OMG can you imagine this would be a better world lol

Yeah but then people would search us out and plead us to finish their case before others.

I don't think I could actually work there. I would get fired after seeing the others being so lazy and not working on people's applications.

I think if I was to work there, I would have to be a supervisor. That way I could walk around with a big stick like the teachers used to due in school and when I saw that a worker was not doing their work. I would take the stick and smack their desk to get their attention that I mean business :bonk:

Tom- Sorry to burst your bubble but unless you have been married to your lovely spouse for 2 years by the time she steps foot on U.S. soil, you will have to do ROC (Removal of Conditions) 30 days before the 2 year mark of her visa stamp :(. Maybe we can all meet up again and have ROC parties :P.

russ and mary- I hope you can get your NOA2 soon and that your little family can be reunited quickly!

anthonyddiggs1- You are so close to Laguna Niguel, you should just drive there and demand the NOA2!

Hopefully there will be some good news tomorrow and some "Oh wow, my NOA2 date is from last week" 's tomomrrow!

Trust me Teya if I could I would. And then I would tell them to send out all the other March and April filers from here there approvals. Hell I would even offer to help work on the rest of the applications so people could get their approvals. Just call it my civil duty at a citizen

anthony have you been checkin your mail regularly? I know this is so hard, try to be as patient as you can! may I ask what's wrong with your background and why you think that could be the reason why they are takin longer to approve you? have your case been touched?

Nothing is actually wrong with my background, but the job I had before in the government was a high profile and high security related job. not sure if that might play a role in why it is taking so long for me.

I called USCIS today and asked them to check on my case since I was coming up on the 5 month marker. And they told me to just wait until next month to call back since I have not passed 5 months yet. OMG!!!! what is a couple of weeks. Why could they just not go and check? So I guess I am stuck waiting until either I get an approval letter in the next couple of weeks or start calling them after the 5 month date passes. either way I am not happy about it.

I think I am at the end level for patience. Anyone have any good remedies for frustration LOL!!!!!

Just to chime again once again all my fellow march brothers and sisters, still no word yet from USCIS. I have checked both my email and postal mail. Nothing has shown up yet. I guess because of my background with the government they are taking longer to approve me. God this is really driving me nuts. My wife today told me to just calm down and relax. Go figure, I thought I would be the one to tell her that, not the other way around.

Tom VERY BIG CONGRATS TO YOU!!!!! since you are like me one of the original march filers here on this thread.

Anyways to all the rest of the march filers that were approved my congrats and wishes to you.

Hello to all of my VJ family,

Been awhile since I have been on to post anything. I have been really busy with my summer session. But I just wanted to chime in today and say that I also am starting to get irritated with USCIS. I was looking at my file today and still NO TOUCHES!!!! As of this week, my wife and I have been waiting for 4 months for the NOA2. Now that is just crazy considering I have been seeing all these other people on this site and other around the same file date as me getting approved. And to make mattes worse, next month will be our 1st anniversary. I was really hoping that we would be in the NVC stage by then, but that is truly now just a shot in the dark. I should apologize if it sounds like I am ranting, but I guess this not knowing what is going on is starting to finally take a toll on my emotions :( . Well again to all of you that have been approved recently I want to say your are blessed and just one more step closer to being with your loved ones. To the rest of us here still waiting, I guess all I can stay at this point is let's all try to stay positive and not go insane :bonk:

Congrats March2010. good luck on the rest of your journey.

I disagree with your theory on the I-129f though. your noa1 to noa2 was 107 days? That is about the average or somewhere near the average of what they were saying it would be isn't it?

lately the average has been 95 to 115 days for approval

It's my turn to cool the hostile's down......

Wait your turn!

I've been around "THIS BLOCK" before..... read into that. I know first hand how a petition progresses. I've seen the K1 first hand, 2 times..... I think I have smartened up this time though. All I can say is I know how you feel. It is very stressful seeing no touch's, approvals or even others approved with dates beyond your filing date. I've had the congressman involved and all.....

If you want to keep your sanity. relax...... there is no sucking up here.... we are all in the same boat. If USCIS reads this then they all know how we feel. My personal feeling, I'd be willing to bet that FEB and March filers were extremely high and/or the Chicago lockbox mis proportioned the petitions to even the load.

I not only want to see my own petition to be approved, but I want to see movement. But not knowing how many petitions were really filed in Feb and March, and then factoring in how many are members of VisaJourney....... we can only speculate. There are just to many unknowns here to jump on each others throats.

If you want to blame somebody....... Blame Bush, everyone else does!

I agree with you on that one lets all just blame G. W.

Iam with u Teya n March2010 I will back u guys. Their is no need for anyone to put anyone down bcause of they think.

Once again I decide to chime in with my two cents. LOL!!!!!

I agree with everyone about not trying to belittle anyone here on our thread. As for what is taking USCIS so long to process our paperwork, just two simple words. "Government Employees" LOL!!!!!!

I can say this because I was a government employee for over 10 years and I know how they can get overwhelemed or just plain lazy. But have faith everyone, we will all get our approvals soon. I have been looking at the trend of people that have been getting their approval both here and on another site. So far it is still averaging about 3 months given another week or two.

As far as Igor's List, I have some doubt also the validity. I was looking up the K1 visa approvals and one couple has their NOA2 dated as 8-16-10. Anyone see what is wrong with this picture :bonk: since we are still in June, how could they possibly have an august approval. I also think that people are just now updating their info but not putting accurate dates. And of course that is just going to throw off the whole estimates and trend data for this site.

Now for my chime in on going to the interview, I am hoping God willing, to be with my wife in Hong Kong for her interview. Most of the embassies or consulates will not allow you in the interview room. But if you get lucky and can go in, you will be there just for support but will not be able to answer any questions unless directly asked by the interview officer.

Well everyone that is my view on everything.
:ot: So just for giggles Southern Californina has been rockin and rollin the last week with earthquakes. We had one a couple of days ago the registered about 5.7 magnitude near the mexico border. Gotta love California

So again good luck to all of you here on your visa journey

Hey guys here is my question about the DS 3032 form. There is a barcode that goes on the top of the form that you get from NVC.

To Teya, Did you get that barcode when NVC assigned you your Case #?

I don't know if you may have noticed on Igor's List but the K-1's have had alot more approvals so far from the CSC office for the start of this month. Could be a reason why we have not seen any others being approved yet.

But then again that is just my opinion.

I wish I could also join you all on a kayak trip. Because it would also get my mind off of checking USCIS site and calling everyday. LOL!!!!!! But what I have been doing over the last week with my wife is getting all the paperwork ready. I guess you could say that I am starting a little late in the game. But if it wasnt for me deciding to join VJ, I think I would have been lost on what to do. But I do have a question to send out to all of my march brothers and sisters. Have any of you used any other immigration help sites before coming to this one? And do any of you feel that this site is better or about equal to the other sites that you may have tried. I only bring this up because, I originally tried using ***removed***. I found alot of information there, but most of it was tailored for India. Which was no help for me since my wife is in Hong Kong. Then I tried using a site called World of Filipinas. For me that site was not that informative. But I did meet a gentleman that I am pretty sure works for the NVC.

Sorry if I am rambling, just want to get input about any of your experiences with other help sites and there forums.

If there are any march filers living here in California send me a PM.

To TeyaValentina again my money is on you for the 1st march approval of this month. Good luck to you!!!!!

Hello to everyone here on VJ. My wife and I filed our I-130 on March 12 of 2010 and we received our NOA-1 on March 17. We are still in the waiting stage. I have talked to a guy I met that works for the NVC and he said that the wait time for NOA-2 is about 3 months. Hope that helps any of you out here.

To the person who got married in Hong Kong. I also married my wife in Hong Kong. Keep in touch with me so we can track the process together. Who knows maybe our spouses may see each other during the interview process.
