IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC will send your relative a packet of forms
Just a quick question on these Police Certificates. Since I am already married to my wife she has taken on my name but only recently. Does it matter what name the cerficate is in? Meaning her Maiden Name or Married name . Can the NVC figure that much out or does this open you to a RFE.
It may sound silly but its stuck in my head and I dont trust them haha. Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresModifying a I-130 Package

If there is an issue with your packet, they will send you a Request for Further Evidence (RFE). You can send a packet to USCIS containing the documents you'd like to add to your petition, however there is not guarentee that it will match up with your petition. Just stick it out and wait - that's my advice

Good luck

That makes good sense to me. If they do an investigation on each of us as they say they do then they will see also that we are both solid individuals and have been extremely stable for many years, each of us in our own countries of course. If they do any real investigations. Some how I dont think they do.

Is it possible to modify or add information to your I-130 package after it has been submitted but prior to the NOA2 being issued? If it is how would someone go about doing this. I am speaking of including more documentation of the relationship. Pictures, Emails and Joint Accounts. THX

if i lived in a particular state but different cities for 20years.do i just list the state or list all the cities.for example list all the five cities in the form or just he state

You live in a city, town or hamlet of a state. So list each City, town or ? individually regardless of what state they are in. Its about where you put your head down at night. Then make sure you have a Police certificate for the appropriate authority at each of those cities.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow to reach a person on USCIS phone

I tried to talk to someone at USCIS. I called this number 1-800-375-5283. The greetings says that customer representitives are available, but no option can lead to a representitive. Anyone knows how to reach a person.

Thanks.

I tried over and over again and dont think its possible. I even sent them an email and only got an applogy and directions to try the same number ... WOW is all I can think of to say without becoming angry.

I realize that this is about the Electronic Processing via the US Consulate in Guangzhou. I am hoping that my experiences here also will help others going through the same Consulate. Sorry if this is boring or mis-leading to others. But I am sure that any and all of you would do the same to get your wife here. The information provided to me has been very valuable and has assisted me in many ways. :D

Current we are awaiting our GZO number for electronic processing. And Darnel, Yes You are correct WAITING is a must for the GZO Number. I also took your advice and sent a few test emails.. All come out to about 20 Megs.. Only way to cut it down is to exclude some information and put into yet another email.. Such as in the subject line put case number - Part 1 or Part 2.. What do you think about that, or do you think 20 - 21 megs is ok? I asked this question to NVC, they did not seem to have an answer on that one.

Dan

No offense intended Dan.

Hi Darnell,

Just a though. Since this is all regarding electronic filing and most of us dont have that option should there be a seperate thread for this activity? I just though it might reduce confusion and traffic. Sometimes I read this and think I am missing something then realize it not applicable to me. Like I said Its just something to consider.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa delayed because we didn't have Cenomar at interview

The will send the visa by way of Air21 as soon as they get the document in their hands. I went through the same delay. I've been telling everyone. CENOMAR CENMAR have all when going to the interview or it will cause a delay.

Hey Vince how are you? Glad that your together now and can share Christmas Holidays together. Yes my wife had what she needed but then she applied for her new Passport. When she did she gave them the NSO copy and didn't get it renewed for her Embassy Interview. :bonk: Cant fix that now. Yes I know Air21 is the courier who delivers the packages to their home in PI. The Embassy has had all our documents since Nov 5th and still nothing from Air21. So tell me how long did it take for them to send you yours after they got your documents. The Embassy has had our records for 5 weeks now but still no word.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa delayed because we didn't have Cenomar at interview

hi seahawks21 i am quite concern on how was your case was going on? did your wife got her visa already? any updates? i

myself too is currenty dealing with this cenomar delay. Please update us.........

DOnt know Seahawks21 story but My wife didnt have here NSO Certificate of Marriage when she interviewed on Nov 3rd. She did get a copy to the Embassy on Nov 5th. I emails the Embassy asking them whats up and got a yes we got it but no further info other than giving me a phone number to a call center. I called then (cost $18) and all they told me was wait 6-8 weeks. Well its Dec 9 now and my wife and I haven't heard anything. I call my Senators office here on Dec 3rd and ask them for assistance . They informed me that our package would have gone on the bottom of the stack once the Embassy had all our documents then I would need to wait my turn. Which means all the other packages coming from NVC etc that came before Nov 5th would go before me. I ask what would happen if they found more ####### I was missing. Would I got to the bottom of the stack again and then again. Do they have any obligation to tell me all the things that are missing at one time. She got the message but said all she can do for me is to inquire. I will be calling tomorrow and see what's up.

My question is has anyone here gone through this and if so how long does it take once they have the NSO in their hands to issue a VISA. I am hoping my wife will get to US by Christmas but its not looking good.
TomDMalePhilippines2010-12-09 20:32:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVisa delayed because we didn't have Cenomar at interview
I have been reading the post here and find myself in the same situation as Seahawk21.

My wife only had a copy of her NSO Marriage certificate with her at her interview. She gave the original one she had to the passport people when she renewed her passport to have her name changed. As a result, she did not get an approval at her interview and she had to go to the NSO Pasay office and pay for another copy.

I was told that the Embassy picks up documents at the NSO office every Friday. The Embassy now has a copy of the NSO document as of Monday Nov 8. Her interview was on Nov 3 and she went right to the NSO office after leaving the Embassy Interview. When I found out what happened I sent an email to the Embassy asking if they got the NSO document. I got an email today responding to that inquiry. The email I got is posted below. They were not able or willing to commit to any date which I understand. How long it take to get the darn VISA I don't know as I am still waiting. I think Seahawks question was how long will he have to wait to receive the VISA once they have the NSO document. Everyone seems to have gotten focus on what the document is called but never asnwered the question. I am guessing 10 days from the time they receive the NSO document. I know people who were approved at the Interview received their Courier package in about 3-4 days. I am hoping she can fly on Dec 1. If anyone has had to deal with this situation before Seahawk12 and I would like to know how long it took to get your VISA. Thanks.. GO MANNY.. :hehe:

This is the EMbassy Email I recieved...
This is in reply to your inquiry of November 10, 2010, regarding the visa case of the referenced individual.

We received the requested civil documentation for Justina Davis directly from the Philippine National Statistics Office (NSO) and included this in our review of the case. As soon the adjudicating consular officer is able to review the information, we will notify the applicant.

The time required to process a visa application to conclusion varies from case to case depending on the complexity of the case itself and the number and complexity of other cases awaiting review. We advise our clients not to finalize travel plans, dispose of their properties, or give up jobs until a visa is actually delivered to the applicant. We are simply unable to commit to issuing a visa on a certain date.

If Ms. Davis would like to inquire further about the status of the visa case, she may contact the Embassy's Visa Call Center at telephone 1-909-101-7878. This number is for subscribers of PLDT and Smart telephone touchtone landlines with national and international distance dialing features (NDD or IDD access). Callers in the USA can contact the Call Center at 1-888-877-9888. The Call Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Manila time). There is a fee assessed to callers by the Call Center for its services.

We hope this information is helpful to you.

Thanks for the info Ricardo. Should be arriving in a week or two then. hope your folks are enjoying Music City. Are you still planning to move to Atlanta?
FYI I heard they are going to start giving free Yoga classes at the park by Farmers Market. Don't know if your folks would be interested or not. If so let me know and I will get more info for you.

Good to see you again you too help everyone in that group including me WHEN I joined in July and stuck with the group through it's thinning times.

Hey Ricardo, Yes good in deed. My wife made it here just in time to see the last big snow!!! She had never seen it personally and the was quite exciting for her. She did freeze but managed to enjoy it just the same. Now we are into much better weather and she is still cold most of the time.
Ricardo did the green card come in the mail or did you have to apply for it? My wife hasn't received anything yet. I even have to submit a form so they will return her original documents which were not returned during her interview or at the POE. Looking forward to a great Nashville Spring and Summer.Hope you have one too.

Well I don't know how else to do this or get this message out. I am hoping that most if not all of us have finally reached out goal and have our loved ones living with us. I just wanted to personally thank the dedicated VJ Gurus who helped all of us along the VISA path. Boy what a long and winding road. I could not have done this without your support and help. To those who made March 2010 a 318 page brother and sister hood thanks to all of you also for asking questions, helping each other, listening to our stories of happiness and whoa and listening without judging to much :). We were and are all from different back grounds and cultures and became family even if it was for a short while. I will not forget these many hours spent on VJ... Well unless Alzheimer take my memory away. I wish all of you happiness and great fortune in your lives. Remember we all seek the same basic things and we should always keep this experience fresh in our hearts and minds. May all of you be blessed and feel peace for the rest of your days.

Hi! Guys I see that my status shows that my file was approved and it shows post decision activity. It read as follows:
On July 7, 2010, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

Now what does this mean?
I never recieved any email confirmation nor did I recieve any text message.
What do I need to do now? Please inform me as I dont know a thing.
Just to inform that my NOA 1 was on 5th March 2010.

I would wait till Monday and if you still have not received anything then Call them for clarification. If you cant wait call them tomorrow.
Congratulations by the way...

NOW WE HAVE TO EXPECT MORE DELAY BECAUSE EVEN IF PEOPLE ARE APPROVED ITS WILL TAKE UP TO 3 OR 3 DAYS FOR THEM TO GET THE NOA2 IN THE MAIL INSTEAD OF SAME DAY DUE TO USCIS IS NOT WORKING ON SENDING THE APPROVALS ONLINE FIRST MANY PEOPLE GOT APPROVED BUT THEIR CASE STATUS STILL SHOW INITIAL REVIEW WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK

You have a point but remember it takes 7-10 days to get your NVC # after your NOA2 approval so I dont know that this will affect the process time that much. Although it would prolong our waiting anxiety... :(

Hello fellow Marchers,

Just found out that we've received our NOA2!!! I am actually in the UK right now visiting the hubby, and my roommate sent me an email saying that I had received an "official" looking letter from USCIS. After asking her to open it, she read that it was in fact our NOA2 dated July 1st. SUPER EXCITED yet not too impressed with the USCIS. We were signed up for text and email alerts and NOTHING. We got a touch on the 2nd, called them to see if there had been any updates (not knowing that we had already been approved) and they said the same old "no news" #######! UGH!

Anywho...108 days from NOA1 to NOA2. VJ timeline predicted July 6th, just FYI. So...a few days earlier than their predictions. Wooo!

Good luck to everyone! Looks like it might be moving finally!

CONGRATS!!! Yes the USCIS does not exactly exemplify confidence and proficiency...WOW no email notification. DOGS !!!
With regards to Family Members VISA processing, they state that they have priority... So much for honesty but then I think they put their statement together focusing on what sounds good and not whats practiced... Geeh I hope or wish someone from the USCIS drops in from time to time and reads this stuff...

My husband went to Turkey embassy for his interview on May 5th, after waiting for 5 months for interview schedule and they asked him for Clarence!!

Would Clarence be his brother? lol Seriously. Originals certificates are submitted to NVC during the NVC process(IV Package). So at best he would and should only have copies. So I am confused with your statement.

Congrats Mojo... Another small step is taken in this lengthy process. We all get hope from hearing news about those milestones that are reached by others. It tells us that the journey is not endless and our efforts are not waisted.

Taya, Dont cry unless it makes you feel better. Sadness is too consuming so avoid it as much as possible. Focus on what you have not what your missing. This past year is but a small fraction of your future years ahead of you and sooner than you think it will be a distant memory.

As for me well my time is significantly more valuable as I have less of it left. So MOVE IT USCIS...

Okay I will be mister negative on this post. Or realist however you wish to see it.

I am not so sure we can put much faith in what their reported goals are or what their web site states with regards to time lines. Someone even posted that they received their NOA2 and the USCIS web site still didn't show them as being touched. What does that tell you? Government entities are renowned for always behind the production cure in my view. They are not know for their efficiency nor are they all that talented upon close review. Most are basically retired on the job.

I do however think all of the March NOA1 will be receiving NOA2 in July or RFE's as a worse case. Then that's only my opinion which doesn't count for much either.

As for me, I am just going to focus my time on what I can control, which is my paperwork that's needed to get through the NVC process. All the rest is just mental masturbation and will proceed as it may without any influence from me or my dire wishes otherwise.

I know when I look back at this whole lengthy process I will remember it similarly to my military experience. It will not be with fondness, although the final product will be its own reward...

Like it or not most of the people we know here in the US go out with, marry and have children with people from the US. So when we say we found someone from another country then questions always will arise. I know in the past I would even raise an eyebrow if I heard someone found a wife from a foreign impoverished country. I think its just human nature.

On the flip side when I was young and good looking  I fell in love with a girl from Port Rico. I was truly in love. I met her at Disney World and fell head over heals for her. I think she felt the same for me... I truly loved Carmen. (L) We ended up living together for 2 yrs while she finished her internship in San Francisco. B-) I even went to PR to met her family and attend her sisters wedding... I took my son with me who was only 7 at the time. Well her dad totally ignored me and I could tell that not everyone was happy I was with her. I really didn't care but I think in the end it mattered to her and we never married. When she went back to PR she sent me a Dear Tom letter and ask me not to come see her. I was heart broken, :crying: and moved to Hawaii to mend my broken heart...

I wonder sometimes what her life is like now and if she regrets her actions. But that's life isn't it... One door closes and another one opens... The beat goes on... My life is beginning to have so many open and closed doors its starting to look like the Winchester Mystery House...

Tom- Did she hand fill out the DS230 or type it? Did she send you the page that she signed? If she typed it all and you have the signed page, you could just fill in those missing pages and print those out. Hopefully that is the case and you don't have to type it all up and forge her signature or have her send those pages again. Yes, I know we all want out of the insane asylum. The forms are also on line so don't worry. Who is the USC? If its him then You should have already sent him the signed DS3032 right? That is if he is going to be his designated rep. Then he will mail it. You can also email it in from where you are. Its a real simple form so I would not be that concerned either way you go.

I wish we would be ask to provide a performance evaluation on the organization and proficiency of the process once we completed our Journey with the USCIS... But then why would they ever consider that... :bonk:

I am going to go hide for a week or two then come back when my time is a little nearer. I am not built for this waiting game. I am kind of a lead, follow or get out of the way guy... For those who can't stay away from the site. Good luck and Good Bye...

I googled it and here it is...A BOWL OF PHO / Vietnam's treasured beef noodle soup that brings families together... That works for me.

I last saw my wife on Feb 26... Seems like its a memory now... but dont tell her that...
