"Oh well." then nothing is wrong to raise a little hell while we wait...

Millions have come, millions have gone
Millions to come and millions to go
Life web that lasts like ebb and flow
Nothing lasts for ever that would glow.

Rose is a rose as sweet as its smell
Oh, no one on the earth knows it well
Go to the heaven all 'Senior' could tell
For one has to, but, raise a little hell.

I dont get it? Always in the wings waiting to jump in

I think a lot of ppl started calling the number once it was posted here. Looks like we pissed someone off really badly. Now I dont know if we can get any help from that number. Senator's aid is the only option now LOL!!!

You might be right JD ... One can sense the negativity here and I am sure it translates well to the phone.
Truly hope things begin to come back to earth with regards to USCIS and NVC's performance but I think its wishful thinking more than reality.

Good Morning my VJ family,

To TOMD: You owe me that beer now

Again thank you all

WHAT!!! I am shattered!!! :bonk: :bonk: Damn "T" you dont know me very well at all. One beer will never do!!! We might even need something jumping out of a cake!!!

Indigo , They dont know if Anthony is telling the truth or not. I think what might have helped was "I had already spoken to my local legislation to make a congressional inquiry" that might have made at least some difference. But I could be wrong. Join Me & T for a few beverages and maybe some cake then we can discuss further.

Probably, I will be the first client of this "expert" attorney, since it is second GC. I am prepared for any RFE from USCIS/NVC or AP at Consulate Interview.

Oh man, the best ones charge $600 per hour!!! But I am ready to pay it, if required.

But, for simple matters like what should I fill Q22 of this form, attorney is not needed :star:

Loto

Wow that's a lot of money per hour to spend. This is for a lawyer who is only processing papers for you and probably giving it off to a aid once your done talking to them. Its not like you're a criminal headed for a trial. This is VISA Application 101, information gathering (Which you will do most of), filling out forms and packaging it.
I am assuming there is no guarantee on any level of success. I know some very good criminal lawyers and I dont think their rate are that high. Hopefully you can avoid this insane bill.

Hi everyone, my NVC journey is now in the hands of the NVC. As of 8/10/2010, the NVC had loaded my IV application into the AVR system. So all forms are finally in. Please update me if anyone within that relative timeframe has gotten their case completed. We are hoping to have my wife home for holloween, target is thanksgiving, likely is my birthday, more likely is christmas, and worst case scenario is exactly new years. Estimates based on recent NVC completion and interview dates.

Hi Kevinandangel, Like discotrash ask please join in. If you go to the top middle of this page and click on Immigration Timelines, then click on Add/edit Timeline you can easily establish and update your timeline so everyone can benefit.
I just sent my DS230 in and the NVC should be receiving it today hopefully. Then it will take a few days to get it entered into the AVR. Halloween would be nice wouldn't it. If they get your package to the Embassy quickly. I was told that the busy season is almost over and things are expected to speed up at NVC. Lets see what happens.

Good Luck to All this week.

Okay all here is my little update.

So Today I called the Customer Service Center and spoke to a lady by the name of Sharon. After I explained my situation to her and advised her that I was a former government employee, she escalated my call to an immigration officer by the name of Gonzales. Now this is the information that I was given to the delay.

1. CSC is on complete overload with I-130 petitions and they have sent out an alert to all customer service agents that anyone calling to wait an additional 20 days before starting a service request for escalation.

2. This is a myth-buster. The applications for Haitian and Chilean nationals is not affecting the process of I-130 applications. This is because USCIS has set up a completely different section to handle only those applications.

3. Immigration Officer confirmed that the online site is a piece of Junk!!!!! And should not be used as a sole purpose of checking.

4. This was interesting to hear. That they often will pull applications for quality assurance and that will slow the process down for that applicant. (LUCK OF THE DRAW FOR THAT UNLUCKY SOUL).

5. Here is another interesting fact. Immigration Officer says that the USCIS timeline does follow CSC actual processing timeline as of today. Also stated that CSC will be on overload until around October 2010.

6. He advised that anyone that has passed the 5 month mark and 20 days should start calling so a service request can be placed.

7. (Local offices) Immigration officer stated that not much can be done from a local office. All they will do is the same thing that he did for me over the phone.

8. New information. When you call the 1-800-375-5283 number. All that person does on the phone is the same thing we do, which is check the online status board :bonk: . The only difference is that they can attempt to place the service request before sending to an immigration officer for escalation.

Well I am still going to make my appointment on Monday, just to see if what he told me was the gospel truth. :innocent: But he did tell me that my application was updated as of July 22. Which the online status board does not show.

So I hope this gives all of you some insight to what the heck is going on with the CSC office.

Nice work Tony. You can go to the head of the class.

GOOD FOR YOU "T". Don't forget to bring a peace offering(Small irresistible pastry treat) :D  It will be interesting to see what is discussed and how they can or are willing help you with your situation... Remember friendly is better than agressive and everyone like to show how smart they are. GOOD LUCK... I would love to be the fly on the wall. Has anyone who is passed the 'normal' processing time for their NOA2 called USCIS?? And if so what did they tell you assuming you actually got connected to someone??

Others have called asking and they were told WAIT. That what you are calling normal is not the case. It all depends on volume. But you should call yourself so you can hear it from the horsed mouth... It seems like I just queaked through. Rumor has it that Haiti and perhaps Chile has been affecting the workload.

I agree with that but my question is how can you give them any of the other people here on VJ approval without knowing there receipt number for them to validate it. especially for people that have been approved around your time frame.

Tony, JD,
Look here I didn't say go in there screaming!!! You need to be calm and collective. :innocent: You're a victim in all of this. You know its not deliberate. You are not accusing the person your speaking with so keep your emotions out of it. You need to shame them into it. Your the ones who are suffering not them. Negotiation skills...
With regards to supporting documentation. This is not a court of law. You dont need certified, objective evidence or proof beyond a reasonable doubt. What you see on here should be good enough. Don't tell me they think we set up a website just to make them look bad..haha :bonk: Just print out some peoples posts. Be selective your only looking for those that support what ever point your trying to make. ALso some of the charts. I think what we have here is certainly a good random sampling of the general public. Look at opinion polls and voting polls ...Your trying to show things that support your concerns and know body can fault you for that. I dont think they will put a FO on your file for asking reasonable and educated questions. You guys know the process now ... You understand Haiti and perhaps Chile have slowed things down. You just want fair treatment. Right.

hey JD12 have you figured out what to ask them when you have your appointment. I am still thinking of what to ask them when I get there and what to take to the appointment.

I wouldn't cancel the appointment even if you get your NOA2. I think you deserve some of their time and should get reasonable responses to questions you may or should have.

First off I would got there with some supporting documentation regarding other peoples time frames for going through the process. I would also bring a copy of the package you submitted to the USCIS along with your proof of payment.
The questions I would be asking is for them to justify why your case is so far out of time with other similar cases. Take the offensive give them the facts as you know them and ask them to justify your having to wait longer. Go to there site and take their words with you regarding first come first serve. Families having priority and so on . Once you do a little looking and thinking I am sure you could find legitimate things to ask. Then I would be asking them to expedite your case at least to the point where others who had you same time frame are.
Of course if your not into it then you get what you get. I am not saying it will make any difference but it might and should. Remember they are their to serve you and you deserve fair and equal treatment.

Maybe but I was thinking more along the lines of Job Security... Its probably the largest office with the most people so they need to show that they are over worked ... haha

I know its a pain but Get your thoughs together. Make a list of questions and facts to discuss with them.. You see the timelines for the people here. I am not contradicting, you may try for all the options. But even the first lady is also helpless in immigration matters.

I personally don't like this big delay by USCIS to bring our spouses to the U.S. At least they should make it faster to bring US citizen's spouses. A brand new H1B guy can bring his/her spouse along with him/her immediately in H4 dependent visa.

Sorry if I hurt you any ways!

i took this off the beacon. the uscis gov blog. We've heard a number of rumors circulating about the help USCIS is providing to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Three of the most common rumors are listed below and followed by the facts:

Rumor #1 - People may fly to Haiti to bring back one adult and one child.
The facts: Only those who are otherwise eligible to be admitted in a valid immigration status or have been granted humanitarian parole will be allowed to enter the United States lawfully from Haiti. Anyone traveling to Haiti to bring family to the United States should confirm that their relative falls within one of these categories before making the difficult journey.

Rumor #2 - You can pay someone $5000 (or any amount) to get a visa for your family in Haiti.
The facts: People may seek to take advantage of visa applicants by offering to obtain the visa for $5000 or some other sum of money. No one can guarantee that paying $5000 (or any amount) for their assistance will result in the granting of a visa for a family member in Haiti. To protect yourself from becoming a victim of immigration fraud, please see our "Don't Be a Victim of Immigration Fraud" webpage.

Rumor #3 - USCIS will delay adjudication of any non-Haitian applications and petitions.
The facts: USCIS had taken steps to allocate all available resources to handle the influx of Haiti TPS/earthquake relief-related applications while continuing to process its pre-existing workload. There may be some delays due to the increased workload generated by the Haiti relief efforts, but USCIS is processing applications received from all applicants and petitioners

Well I dont want to sound heartless but what a bunch of bull. There are natural disasters every year in many places on this planet. Haiti's biggest problems have nothing to do with the earthquake...JMO

Something must be up with CSC for having to wait so long for NOA2. I did have the experience a few years ago, in the business world, of trying to contact a vendor in California. For three days, all my calls went to voicemail without a response. Finally got a call back and found out that the "surf was up" and everyone went surfing. Maybe that's what is happening. The "surf has been up" for the last four weeks!

I keep looking at Igor's list. I don't like to be towards the end of any list, but somebody has to do it.

Let's go CSC!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to flood the NVC mailbox with emails!
