Usually there are no approvals on Mondays. You might see one or two Tuesday. The day to look for a few approvals on VJ is Wednesday and Thursday. Rest of the days are usually dead space as far as hearing about new approval goes. So be patient and you'll see a couple of approvals in couple of days.

Indigo is right Monday are for the Govt workers to get back on track. Tuesdays they start working and Wednesdays they are at their peak, Thursday they are looking to the weekend and Fridays they are making weekend plans..
PS I don't like the new response format on VJ...

there has to people receiving the approvals in the mails also. this doesn't make any sense at all. it wasn't the end of the month. soon people will be 5 months into this situation and they don't want the phone calls. so i would assume some approvals will come in the mail.

You mean starting 5 months, not in it for 5 months. I got my email and mail notice on the same day. A few days prior to my getting the email only mail notices were being received. So I am guessing they are behind the curve a little but it doesn't affect your date as mine was backdated or listed as the 14th which was 7 days prior to my receiving the mail or email. Enjoy the weekend and know all of this will be right here waiting for you when you return... Cheers...

Hang in there people. Your time will come. Yes many dont support VJ. So what Look at how long some of us have been monitoring and chatting on this March site. There are many whom I didn't see earlier but they are here now. I dont think the timeline provides more than a peek at what to expect. Its hardly accurate. I have seen some get their NOA2 in 94 days while others wait 120. Now that I have mine I am waiting for my Case #. Same goes with it some get them faster than other. WHo knows why. Same reason some win the lotto and others dont. Hang in there friends we have not left you. We are just in a next room. :hehe:  Waiting...

Hey one question:

My brother in law just called to NVC and in AVR system, they said that ' they are awaiting for biographic information for this case, and as soon as they receive all documents, they will do a final review on it'

question is : we have sent affivdavit of support couple of weeks back, is it accpeted by them ? ? ?
Does this message suggests that AOS has been accepted and we have to send DS-230 now ? (DS-230 is ready and we'll send today, fee's are also paid)

I don't think most people here know about this because they are waiting for their NOA2. You should ask this question in another forum.

No worries :) Thanks TomD!

So, giving the USCIS a call was a bust, they won't give me ANY information as I'm not my husband, the petitioner. So... I need to work on my American accent and lower my pitch a few octaves. LOL Just kidding! I think my American accent is awesome, hubby disagrees though! It's probably just as good as his Aussie accent... that is to say - Terrible.

I'm staying in high spirits, planning a nice weekend out with friends and then the family to keep my mind off all this visa stuff!!! :) I'm just really looking forward to hearing my husbands voice again, that's going to be so much better than any NOA2 news right now... hey, if it's his voice saying "Baby, we got the NOA2", that'll be 7th heaven. :)

Love to all and keep those NOA2s coming March people!

You have all your hubbies info so have someone call as him... Get his permission first.

Wait just a minute Sheila! I though you were the one who had the Ascent?... When we separated from England we took neither the tea nor the accent with us...:hehe:

Teya,
Your family dance secret will be safe with me. In fact I will most likely never be seen using it and I only have a few years left anyway... Watch this    How am I doing..?

People when you see the pony run by your house run out and check your US Mail Boxes... Seems like the US is not so slowly becoming Third World and we are even losing our communication abilities along with everything else. Maybe some of you could have your loved ones ask their leadership to aid the US and get the USCIS system back online...

At least they don't probe you. Or maybe they do. But they wonk and pull on your shortest appendage.

Then again maybe thats whats taking so long...

Hey TomD, I think you misread my post mate. Hubby is overseas so he can't get the NOA2 letter in the mail, since USCIS isn't emailing or updating the website right now, we have no way of knowing whether NOA2 has been sent to us by post until hubby gets back home and collects his mail. As for games, skype and so on... LOL... none of those are available to him, I'm not going to hear his voice again till he gets back. I'm a tough one so it's all good. As we say in Australia "She'll be 'right."

I plan to give the USCIS military hotline a call tonight, to find out whether they can tell us if we have a NOA2 yet. Unfortunately the line is only available between 11pm and 7.30am my time so I'll have to stay up late tonight.

I'm not worried, it'll fall into place soon enough and each extra day is a drop in the ocean. Our relationship is strong, we can get through this... and it's been many, MANY days since we filed, so a lot of the wait is over!

Lots of cheers for the new NOA2 recipients, congrats guys! Wishing for many more before the week is out!!!! :)

OK my Bad... Glad you're a tough bird, it will help somewhat. I wouldn't just try calling the Military USCIS. Call the regular one as they should know and have better hours for you. Looking at your timeline you may have a week or so yet to wait. Cheers and Good Luck

I have a legitimate question. I filed for my wife's I130 CR1/IR1 on April 20th, 2010. How likely is it for her to come to Ameica in 2010? I just wanna set my expectation and priorities in accordance to that.

Hummm Well your first post was paranoia striking deep  JK, Your not that far behind me and I expect my wife to be here in Oct/Nov time frame. I think it is possible that your wife might be here by Christmas Indigo. Wouldn't that be a gift for all seasons. But for that to happen certain things need to happen first. The big one of course is that you get your NOA2 in Aug. Then this needs to be followed with complete and speedy submittals on your part to the NVC. I know your capable of that. So dont give up hope too quickly.
Having said that what I think you and all the other have working against us is the HOLIDAYS>>> Thanksgiving and of course Christmas. We all know productivity slows down for everyone in these months. I guess I am saying its a ####### shoot but hope does keep us all going doesn't it.

Congrats wasmah :)

Hey gang, I mentioned earlier that our case was touched on July 14, our NOA1 is April 2nd, I've seen it referred to a couple of times so...to note a couple of points with my case:
-Hubby is active duty military and asked for our case to be expedited. Well, unless the touch of July 14 was NOA2 on its way, I think we're no faster than the rest.
-Also, darling hubby is deployed and can't check his post box, since it looks like USCIS isn't sending email notifications right now the NOA2 may well be sitting in his post box, and won't be discovered until hubby returns! Kind of sad irony that one.

I'll definitely keep y'all updated but unless USCIS sends hubby an email, our hands are tied I guess until he gets home. Unless I can call USCIS and ask them? Can I DO that? ;)

Cheers,
Jess

I am surprised to hear that your hubby cant get access to the net. He must be at a super isolated FOB because most of the MWR's that I knew of had multiple computers with connection to the Internet. The biggest problem was getting a turn because everyone was using them for Games, skype and so on. He could also check with his command to see if they would give him usage to check.

Not to derail from the purpose of this thread but I can tell you that this doesn't have to be.

For one thing, it is certainly not the case in France where public medicine is actually better than the private one. And this is simply because they have no incentive to save money to increase profit. So they don't cut on tests, treatments, etc. They also often have the best equipment. Doctors are free to use any means they feel is appropriate without the financial pressure they have in the private sector.

Because of that they can attract very good doctors, even though they will earn a lot less than in the private sector. Doctors who care more about saving lives than becoming rich.

In private hospitals you get better room service. It's more like being in a hotel than in a hospital, while in many public hospitals the room service is so so. But I'd rather have crappy food and good health care than the opposite.

Just saying. :-)

I hear you and I was sort of kidding when I wrote it. However You could have used another country for an example besides France!!! :hehe: On a serious note. Most things can be done better or worse than they currently are. I have seen the pros and cons argued before. These are my view which certainly can be disputed to great length. I dont think it really matter much whether its private or public. I think what most important is if $$$ is the primary focus. Thats when things start to fall apart. I know you may think that money is not a focus if the government provided health care well just look at the Military and you can see it does. You can also see that at least in this country government does not do things in a cost effective manner.
With regards to Doctors qualification and value... Practitioner does come to mind and they do charge you whether what they do works or not. Hummmm My hats are off to them for what they do but they take and get much more credit than they deserve. In many countries they are not looked at as highly as they are in the US. Of course lawyers play their role as well as people who are willing to sue someone at the drop of a hat.

Well Indigo sent out a chart which showed that Monday was the slowest day in the week for approvals. I for one am glad we are out of Mondays for this week. Rest assured if and when I get my approval it will not be a secret nor will I leave here without checking back as I progress on my journey. I don't think calling them less would help as the people who answer phones aren't immigration officers. They're just contract drones hired to answer phone and read off of a script. God heavens! I hope these people who answer phone don't get to decide our life-changing matters. -shudders-

Oy! Oy! Oy! Oy! Oy! Oy! Oy! Oy! Congrats.

If anyone wondering why I use Oy! ad infinitum: It's because in my mind everyone going through the USCIS process are ducks. And what other ways would ducks celebrate some victory other than to quack like ducks. Somehow ducks in my mind don't quack rather they oy! oy! oy! Yes, it has been suggested that I should become a writer. I'm thinking about it.

Or quite simply I'm Jewish and I don't know it. Oy Vey!

Oh Indigo, I know first hand about GoV employees although I was never one except in the Army I guess but that was under duress... I was just inserting a little tongue and cheek.

I thought your Oy! Oy! Oy! chant had something to do with your being a soccer fan...

I wonder if we all stopped calling & emailing the USCIS if this would speed them up but then I guess they probably have dedicated phone persons who would then be doing nothing.

Most of the dinner wares that I got out from the showcase are washed. Left them on the table to dry so I can wipe 'em and bag 'em when I go home after work today. Few other things need washing. I'll get to them eventually. Tomorrow. It was awesome. We had lots of laughs. Next weekend we're heading over to Amish country for some fresh produce on Saturday. Sunday, picnic by the lake. That reminds me I need to book a picnic shelter today.

Sounds to me like your very busy. Amish You living in Indiana or Ohio? We have some in TN also I like going to their shops and produce places...I love a good party and it seems like you had one. I lean more towards paper products instead of fancy ware... Someone did bring some moon shine haha I remember that much .

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers

Another Monday; another week. That means more obsessing about my spouse's immigration cases. Argh! I like the weekends more. I rarely think about this visa stuff during the weekend and to be honest, it feels good. I had a blast this weekend. Saturday, I went fishing. Sunday, we had a huge party in our house; there were 40 people over for dinner. The party started at 16:00 and went into the 0200 hours. A bunch of us decided to go watch the movie INCEPTION. Great movie! I loved the whole concept of it so much so that when I came home, I dreamt about continuation of the movie. It was brilliant. Di Caprio doesn't disappoint. Highly recommend INCEPTION to everyone.

Sounds like Funnnn! Thats a lot of people... We be Jammin  Hope the clean up doesnt take to long  Your right about keepin your mind off of this stuff its like they say a watched pot never boils... and good times are over to soon
