i would like to ask something this is all about for the interview(those who married filipina).for the embassy are they need the original birth certificate and Cenomar for the interview or just the copy?which is which?i just want to know and to make sure so that i know what to do and what to be prepared for...thanks!!!

Tony,
The Embassy should already have her original as you will send it in with the DS230 package. They will probably give it back at the interview. It needs to be original or a certified copy from the NBI. Have you read LingChe's Shortcut?

Hi All,
Teya I can see you paddling down a river with your laptop checking status..lol...Well I am living in TN now but also have a home in the Bay Area near Oakland. My son lives there and is getting a very good rental rate. But he takes care of the place so I guess its a wash.
Your all more than welcome to come visit me. Nashville is not so bad of a town and I have an almost empty house. Should that get full I have an Acre to pop up some tents.

Well I was surprised last night because my Wife Called me. It was great to hear her voice. Then she is laughing and making noise in the room she is in. It was 11pm there and 9am here in TN. She had trouble finding the country code for the phone. I had no Idea but she finally figured it out with the help of her niece. IT 1 according to her. I told her that is because we are #1 haha. Its funny watching how she thinks and the things I do that are misunderstood by her. I also misunderstand her sometimes. DJ and I are Married men so it should be no problem unless your hubby is one of those MACHO kind of guys. lol

Went to the Blue Bird Cafe the other night. It was great. Small place real cozy. Its a song writers place to sing and entertain. Its like they are sitting in your living room. I went with a fiend and his wife. It was very reasonable also. Cant wait to do that again. Maybe with my wife ...

You know I almost never look at my status and I have never called anyone yet. I figure that time will come. Besides I get my status from you guys. Once you start telling me you got approval I will be most definately checking . Till then KAYAKing works for me. I hope you dont get the wrong Idea. I am a slow Kayaker No Class III and IV water for this guy. But it is fun and I sometimes just paddle and fish out of it. Too bad we cant post pictures ..

Well Enjoy the evening I have to start cooking and cleaning up.

Kapad - Relax buddy. Everyone has to wait their turn. The further away u r, the more your love will grow. These are the times that you have to be patient and as the say goes in indian culture "saber ka fal meeta hota hai"

So just relax and enjoy life as much as you can.

Kapad,
I have to agree with JD except for the love growing stuff... although I dont know what "saber ka fal meeta hota hai" means  But regardless, true happiness comes from withing not from somebody. I have heard that a sign of maturity is being able to deny yourself things that you want. We all want to be with our loved one and like JD said Time will make that happen.

So bide your time and start planning things that you can do once she is close to you again. Think of all the things that will be a shock to her or that she will like about her new home. Think of her getting strength from you and the support your going to need to provide at least in the first few years. For someone to grow up in a place its almost automatic for them to understand and accept things. When your transplanted it is a different story and a very long process.

My mother was from a Germany and although she only lived in in Germany for her first 23 yrs and lived in the US for 52 more yrs. She never stopped being German. Dont misunderstand she was American and spoke English but in her heart of hearts I think she was still German. The trouble was the Germany she new nolonger existed but she still loved to speak it with others and talk about her home. I also see this with my foreign friends. Their children are Americans but the parents born and raise in another country still have much love for their birth place regardless of how messed up it may have been or is. For me I was born in Germany but my Heart is USA all the way. I dont have any real feelings for Germany but I left when I was 5.

So look at what you can do to prepare to make her time here easier. IF you were not born here you might have a good idea about it . IF you were born here then ask someone who came here as a young adult from India. THat should keep you focused.. for a while

Hahahahaa. That was a good read Tom. Thanks. I'm pretty sure (about 99.5%) that my AOSer will fail me. I'm not too worried about the process. It would be futile anyway. I have 2 options...stay here or move there. I will be ready for both. Life is good.

 Well two options keeps it simple. I like that. I have to be honest and have thought of those options myself but for different reasons.

Now here is something that you may not have considered. I am sure there are a few people who have always thought about Visiting Peru and if you should decide to go there then some of us may have a Connections and Guild there. haha. Just a suttle hint... I bet there are many points of interest there even for an old married man like me. hahaha

That is also because no one wants to play the game we created. I highly doubt that no one has any questions nor that they will be radio silent once in the NVC threads, but whatever.Once we all get approvals we will all be headed over to NVC and therefore our bond will be forever changed. :P. I guess we just sit and wait. We (those who type a ton on here) can ask questions about the NVC. Since no one else responds anyway, what does it matter what we put in here (on topic).

I finally mailed off my I-864 to my supposed co-sponsor. After the hours of work I put into the packet, I have a sneaky feeling that it will be looked at and firmly rejected within 5 seconds. Then I will be back to the root of one of the major issues. *Sigh*

Teya,
I am a little older than some of the folks here, including you. Just a little advice. I know you had some unfortunate problems with the NOA1. Having said that, look at where we are. You are not further behind us as we are all still waiting and wondering.

To me that is the most difficult part of all of this. It makes or allows our minds to wonder. In doing that we start coming up with and second guessing some many things. Most of which are wrong.

You have a good idea now, just like many of us, on what it is going to take to get through this. Do your best and if something pops up that needs correcting then we will just have to do it. Thats why I go on Kayak trips. It keeps me from checking the site everyday for changes and news.

Many of the things that we have struggled with in our lives and those things that we worried about dont really impact us half as much as our worrying about them did before their time.

Allow yourself some peace of mind and dont let yourself get burned out by all of this because that may give you greater anxiety which could affect your performance or ability to think things through properly. Your a smart girl just take a few deep breaths (Relaxation Therapy) and let things run their course. You have little other choice. The ride may be longer but if it is you will be less stressed by it for not allowing it to affect you. Think Positive always and what will be will be. If you did your best then there is nothing more to be done. It will run its course and all will be good. Maybe not in the time frame your wanting or maybe it will surprise you. Either way think positive in this and all things.

Then you can come visit me and take a ride on my Kayak. Then you will have something to worry about.

So we're looking at sometime around (big emphasis) end of October to end of December. :)
I hope I don't have any RFE's since we're working with a professional. The main reason we went with a lawyer is to prevent any delays.

Thanks for the feedback.

Geeh never hear of a Lawyer delaying anything. Good Luck I hope you get what you paid for but I just get the feeling Lawyers are overated. At best they are just more familar with the forms but they put the real work in your court and will rely on you for all the information. Its the gathering of that that takes time because the forms are simple. Dont see how that worth the cost of one.

No. Cuz the world came in and I am now on the phone again trying to call them....oooh...some one answered.

My NOA 1 has no middle name for my wife but mine does. Just remember people we live in a do as I say not as I do world. Their documents dont need to stand up like ours do . They are the provider and the paperwork they provide does not get scrutinized as much as our paperwork does. I would only concern myself if they didn't put the correct name in or had significant typos. Remember they are Government workers which means well lets just say they are not as efficient as the private sector.

Oh What a long week end. I am so tired...paddle paddle paddle.
TJ people are always welcome at my house, provided that they help with the dishes...

Maybe someone will get on tomorrow and let us know that they were approved. Or Saturday. Otherwise we will have to wait until June to hear some approval bells ringing. No NOA1 today. I will be calling tomorrow. I'm scared to call and talk to a super. What if they tell me they burned my file for calling so much? Or I should've received an RFE?....I just need to WOman up and get what is $355's worth of rightfully mine.

HAHA Pony Up girl... You know what to do, Just dont be abrasive and I know you will not be. I dont think they know who calls or how often anyway. Your acting like they are super organized. ;) Besides If it was not for people like me and you and all the rest of us they would be out of a job!!!

I am not at active posting as many others. I do look every day but try to keep the chat down to minimum. Well another weekend is upon us and guess what I am going camping with my Kayak for all of it. ROCK ISLAND HERE I COME> You can look it up on Internet. Its a State Park in TN. I did a moonlight paddle yesterday we took off at 6pm and I didn't get home till midnight. It was a my first full moon paddle and it was awesome. Perfect weather no wind and good company. We fished and cooked out and had plenty of bug spray... Hope all have a great weekend.

PS Jesal thanks for the list ... What are the Numbers after our name? Is that the order because some # have many names associated with them.

I don't know why I bother to hang out in the May interviewers forum and read their posts. It makes me happy that the majority of them are getting approved but I know their cases are nothing like my case. I honestly can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm not looking for sympathy. Just pondering out loud. Maybe there will be my NOA1 waiting in the mail for me today.

I guess I dont understand why your case is so different :bonk: I think we all have differences but the rules or process is much the same. Having said that I can see if someone say had some bad history in their past then things would be different. I am trying to get my wife here without a co sponser and I have not worked since Jan 2008. I feel however if what I read is correct I dont have a problem because of my assets. I think we each need to be honest with ourselves and move forward based on what we know. I for one would not have a problem living in another country. I would just complain alot. haha and have to adjust accordingly.
I hope your case get moving. I thought the NOA1 was almost automatic... but perhaps I misunderstood your comments... ITs hot here today and I always think poorly in the heat.

Interesting. Some one started a July interviews group but no one has started a June NVC group yet. Next week is June. Maybe the May NVC people with no SIF are still hoping or fell asleep. Since the interviews get scheduled in the 2nd week of every month and the NVC takes around 1 month. I'm thinking the earliest any one of us would make an iterview would be August.

DOOH, August...I think Darnell was saying 6-8 weeks. Yeah hopefully early AUG. I guess I have to look at the bright side of it. My honey will be here to keep me warm during the winter.

Let me know if there is a JUNE NOA2 page started. This one is getting full.

Darnell thanks for your vote. I think however it may be more than most are willing to do so... Okay I will be away for about a week. Have some camping and stuff to do to keep my mind away from the Visa Madness. If my original Idea was to confusing or not so exciting then I have another.

First we need a list of player so we can keep track. Who can put this together? Once we have the list established then each of us would send out a statement on the NVC process. Start from the beginning of the process. Once a step is agreed to have been covered go to the next Step. The statement should be about something you noticed and almost missed. Then the other can check their packages. Give some time between questions say 1-2 hours. Then the next person post there observation. The questions and thinking need to flow so stay on topic. If someone feels the subject has been beaten to death then call for a vote and if 3 agree, move on to the next step.

Remember if you do this we can not be shy or feel stupid for stating simple observation. All Observation are equal because they will result if RFEs is the information is wrong. If someone can't be a participate because of schedule or access to Internet, that's fine. They can be removed from the list of player but they can still read the post and benefit from this effort when they have access or Join in when the scheduling conflict is passed.

Hey folks I know its not the dating game but for the price of admission (free) what do you want, your money back... lol

I will, as I said earlier, be away for a while but I can pop in from time to time as Internet access becomes available and between activities. I cant do the Player List but I will start off with the first dumb statement/observation or Heads Up what ever we decide to call it.

Here goes You receive Approval Notice from USCIS After all the Yelling and Jumping stops, Scan the document or make a few copies or forward the email to your Significant Other. Where ever he or she may be.

Then take a deep breath "Its Game On" ... This is the time to clear your head and double and triple check your package for completeness. Do this in order of need ( ie DS3032 then I 864, then DS230. Those things that are still not in your possession need to be put on a TO List. Dont do this all at one time give yourself break periods. When your mind gets jammed up take a break then get back at it ...

Well this is more a strategy but that's what each of us need. There is an old saying that goes like this. "Plan your work! Then work your Plan!" You can not be to organized!!!
Good luck and good bye for a little while regardless of what you decide to do. I will not feel bad if you do something completely different then I will be blameless haha

Well Kayaking is great fun. Your all invited I have plenty of room and if they fill up well its tents in the yard then.. Only dont look for me to cook haha.
On a serious side. Yes I know we have the Cover Letters and that's a great start but that's not the final, I'm ready point. As we all know, the devil is in the details. That's what gets us. With each of these items listed on a Cover Letter there are little points to remember and do. This would remind us of those points. So we should expand our thinking and dig the devil out of his hiding place.

That's why I finished cutting the grass and will be going midnight Kayaking. I can look up at the stars & Dream of the Days to come. It also helps me sleep when I get home.lol I am glad the we have summer upon us. It allows us the opportunity to get out and away from the house. If I am here to much I will sit and eat and gain weight and my mind and internet kills me.

So the majority who have responded are in the same 10 years age span... the time line is on VJ at the top where it says, "Immigration Time lines". Then you go to view you time line and then once at your page, scroll to the bottom and it was give you an estimate.

Thanks for the Info. Now I feel... well everyone know as they are feeling it too... I am again guessing once we get our NOA2, then start submitting our packages and we have minimal error or RFE then we will still have another 4-6 week before a Visa is issued. Is that about right? Oh I am out side of the box with about a 16 yr age spread.

Holy moly.... uhhh so the time line just jumped wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back. It was May 24th yesterday to June 19th and today it says June 4th to July 3rd! Every time I get within two weeks of the time line...it goes away.

That tells me that this time line thing is worthless. Where do you see that anyway I have never looked. Is it on the USCIS site? Just courious because I need a little more disappointment in my life...  :hehe:

Although...I think we will all get the picture of what is to be included after the 1st one or two. The same basic info for everyone (plus or minus some country differences).

Yeap thats the whole point isnt it. Get everyone 100% . Funny hey... I think I win the age difference contest. Me being 59 and my wife well she will be

triaxxx - just wondering where are you looking at the line graph? Is it at the uscis website or here at VJ?

Just got back from my 6 mile paddle and it was fun. It started to rain on the way to the lake but stopped once I got there and met up with 2 others who joined me on the paddle. This keeps me off the couch and reduces my beer consumption..haha

This is just my opinion. I don't know what it will be like going forward because I have never walked that walk. I do not this. I will be involved in what ever forum it may be, that I get the most benefit from. I would think everyone else would be in the same mind set. Personally I think we have several weeks and maybe more before we hear anything. I am March 23 NOA1 so I have more wait time than many of you which is okay with me. Like I stated earlier I had some delays but I think I have worked through those issues and will be on a roll now.

What I am finding is now that I am waiting my mind is not as focused and when I was questioning. So let me propose something to the March NOA1-ers. Our First deliverable after receipt of NOA2 is the DS 3032. This one is a "No Brainer" I think, But is gets a little more complicated on the DS 230 and the I-864 packets I think. Well here is my proposal or suggestion. Lets get a list together for each of us who want to do this in order of our NOA1 date. Then one by one go down the list. When its your turn post Your Table of Contents List located on your Cover Letters. The Details of your individual forms is still your responsibility we are not reviewing then we are just making sure you have a complete package. Moving on...

Then the rest of us who want to participate can review and comment in the same order as our NOA1 List. Don't put personal info out there but do something like this...

TomD DS 230 Package Content form Cover Letter.

Please find enclosed the following items comprising the DS-230 packet. I would kindly request that originals of pertinent documents be returned to my spouse at the time of the interview in Manila (my spouse can provide photocopies for your official records, if needed):
? Two (2) Passport Size Photographs of Beneficiary (NVC Case Number, beneficiary’s full name, and date of birth are printed on back of both photographs)
? DS-230 Form Part 1 (2 pages) completed and signed by beneficiary
? DS-230 Form Part 2 (2 pages) completed by beneficiary – unsigned, as of yet, per instructions
? Photocopy (2) of the Beneficiary’s Passport Biographic Data Page
? Original/Certified Birth Certificate of beneficiary and a copy
? Original/Certified Marriage Certificate and a copy
? Original Police Certificate for Beneficary and a copy
? Original/Certified Police Clearance Certificate and a copy

Then we look at them one at a time and make our comments based on our reading the Govmt form instructions and the LingChe Short Cut.
Comments should be clearly written per each line Item. Like this

Comments on TomD's DS230 Package

? Original Police Certificate for Beneficiary and a copy -
Comment #1: Make sure there is a Police Certificate from each location where the Beneficiary has lived for more than six months is attached
Comment #2: Listed each Police Certificate Separately on the Cover letter.
Comment #3: There is a typo on the word Beneficary should read Beneficiary

You get the idea. Then to keep this from getting to redundant the First Reviewer (person following poster on list) will post his comments then the second reviewer can Cut and Paste and add any comment to the Cut and Paste. If you have no comments then Cut and Paste the previous comment list posted and state NO Comments. When we get 3 No Comments then it is considered GOOD and we go to the next person and the person below them is the first reviewer. Hope that makes sense. Eventually We will have redundant comments. I dont know how long that will take but once we have say 2 Cover Letter list with Redundent comment then we are done with that Package. We can all use the same comment sheet to check our package and then go on to the next package.

Hope this makes sense. We maybe should do this on a separate forum so we dont bother those who are not interested. Then again we can also say "Hey TomD this is a compolete waste of time. Go Kayaking and stop making work for us. " :bonk: :hehe:

I would not put to much confidence in the USCIS website. I remember last year they had the same problem. I am beginning to think that it is deliberate. Some people get notifications from it, where others do not. I was approved well over a week ago and the website still says I am in "initial review". Seems kind of rediculous to me to offer such a service but not use or maintain it properly.

I agree with all that statement. Governments don't have anyone to answer to on a daily basis. Yes I know we have the vote. In my view that's why it is so important not to have government doing too much. The private sector should be doing most things for any country. Governments are far to wasteful, slow to react, costly, and without pressure to do a proper job.I am not just speaking about the US Government. All Governments are this way. They have there place but it should be a small place. Ours(USA)is way to big, extremely wasteful, inefficient and slow to non responsive in my view. Having said all that, it's the best one going. Power to the People... as they say.

Tom, theres something screwy going on over there.

Most people get their AOS bill within a day after giving the operator their email address. I still havent received any email from them. Granted its only been 3 days but still. Slow.

TheJesal,
FOr sure Something is going on or should I say nothing. I still haven't gotten my # . But what can I do... I have a fear of prison so I will just have to wait...haha At least I can share the pain with Fellow VJ'ers :hehe:

hello people my case got touched on 26th july.
May be they sent it to NVC. How long should i wait before i call them to get my case number ?

WEll my NOA2 approval was dated July 14 which makes today 2 weeks for me. I have no number. Yours being 12 days after mine would tell you what? :bonk: but this thread is about I-130 NOA2 approvals and I am hoping that those who are Marchers and still waiting get good new today and tomorrow. USCIS will hopefully move it move it move it...Good Luck All.

Indigo I know what you meant. Some appear to have difficulty coping with life's little realities and make those realities bigger than they need to be. Far to many of us have lost the ability to endure minor discomforts or exaggerate the situation. Others seem to be unmoved by anything. Perhaps somewhere in the middle is where we need to be.

Usually there are no approvals on Mondays. You might see one or two Tuesday. The day to look for a few approvals on VJ is Wednesday and Thursday. Rest of the days are usually dead space as far as hearing about new approval goes. So be patient and you'll see a couple of approvals in couple of days.

Indigo is right Monday are for the Govt workers to get back on track. Tuesdays they start working and Wednesdays they are at their peak, Thursday they are looking to the weekend and Fridays they are making weekend plans..
PS I don't like the new response format on VJ...
