I am betting 100% that they will just request that you also submit a full I-864 because every petitioner must fill one out, regardless if you have an income or not. :)

ditto that..  absolutely

Just recieved my checklist via emial. Omg just because i didnt send the last page of the i-864 because since i filled it out myself and didnt have a preparer.should i just resend all of the forms and leave that last page blank or fill in N/a in all sections

I understand the FRUSTRATION -- I had two I864's in ONE package (one fee) all in one envelope.  One cover page but only one photo copy of my evidence- was checklisted for NO evidence on second I864-- been kicking myself in the ####### every day since then--

I would RE- DO the entire I864 and include all the same information and include the page that was left out---  put NA in EVERY SPACE that is Not applicable regardless..

sorry for you --  be 25-30 days after they scan the correction....

again- I understand--

keep the faith

nope,  but I called last night around 9:45.  took 45 minutes to get through and an hour on hold.  But I had to know if they completed my case AGAIN !!!!   and it is ... Everything is fine but I would not have slept if I didn't call last night.

I honestly didn't expect a call this morning..  I told you... I don't trust them at all.

I understand the thought of "having to call"---  I think when feeling so helpless - its the only thing you can do to try to move forward- so I call-- in my heart knowing it is too soon but we can only hope--

Today I woke up feeling more held up than usual...  I review and re-review my thought process when sending in those papers, and why I didn't make an extra photocopy!!!  I kick myself every time over and over again- in reality it cost me a month-- it was a costly mistake....  I just want so bad for an interview date- that would be something I could plan on and look forward to- this not knowing WHEN - even though you know its close is enough to drive me NuTz.

Well I am on hold- couldnt resist a call--- I know my checklisted documents were scanned on May 22nd so just dreaming that all is done...

The only reason I am posting is because today is my 53rd day @NVC-- not helping to bring down the average NVC process

As on hold just day dreaming about this process being done- and making travel arrangements.. so close yet so far.

Whoppie Dooo.... June! (Note sarcastic tone). I was totally convinced hubby would have a June interview and now I'm not even sure it will be a July one.

Hoping this month brings a lot of joy, happiness, and the ability to make plans for many of you. I know there are a lot that have their interviews in June as well and I hope they check back and let us know how it went.

Don't think I'll be calling so soon this up and coming week. It's going to be a crazy week for me. And I honestly can't take the disappointment anymore. Wouldn't it be funny if I got an interview email before even knowing I had Case Complete? #keepdreaming

Here we go June!!!' Whoooooo.....

My thoughts almost exactly...  I keep telling my wife- I will have a DATE in 2 weeks--  IF I just had a DATE of the interview that would take so much stress off- and get us working on the medical stuff--  just waiting is excruciating. -- I feel so helpless-- my checklist arrived on the 19th-- but didn't get scanned until the 22nd and there is absolutely nothing I can do to speed up the process- I know when they look at it it will be DONE.  then another two weeks to get an interview date--  I HATE to admit it but it looks like August for an interview -- and I haven't even told my wife that yet.. I was holding out for late June early July -- that ridiculous error caused the checklist..  I KICK myself every day-- but we only do our best--- its NOT like I didn't understand- the other case went through with NO CHECKLISTS ever..... frustrating does not even BEGIN to describe the feelings--  I feel the same way-- just wait- don't call, don't read about it think about it nothing.. I think that is impossible- I probably will just call every OTHER day...for the next week..  good luck to you..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHusband's Tourist Visa Approved-- Waiting I-130 NOA2

Hi all--

Just wanted to share good news. Today (I am visiting my husband in Mexico City), I went with him to the US Embassy as he had his interview for his tourist visa. We are waiting approval of the I-130 and took a risk of getting his tourist visa so he can visit me in Colorado during this process. He was treated really well at the embassy and they didn't ask him many questions, said that he was going to visit his wife's family and attend his brother-in law's wedding (which is true, the wedding is in October). They approved his visa without any hassle, so now we are really excited that he will be able to go to Colorado and visit while we are waiting for the rest of the process!

Hope this helps anyone wondering if this is a possibility! Go for it!

Good luck to all,

K

We tried that and were denied.  --  you are lucky to have the time together- enjoy!!

My husband was actually in the same case! Full time student so he wasn't required to file taxes. The only difference is that he was filed as a dependent on his father's taxes. Don't know if it changes anything. But they didnt ask for anything at the interview. Because I heard about the poor couple who went through AP for this we did prepare a copy of the IRS website stating that he didn't have to file taxes. Hope this helps!

Yes, I imagine that every case is based on its own merit, depending on the "whole" package things may be different, but I "believe" a written explanation, notarized along with a copy of the appropriate year IRS TAX GUIDE showing the minimum income requirements to generate an income tax return will document the situation--  my income was below the requirement in 2011 and that is what I was advised.  we will see on the 6th!!

It is currently affecting me and my husband. His interview was Tuesday and according to CEAC, they are still ready for his interview. No AP or Issued Visa yet. If this hadn't happened, probably by Tueaday we would have had the Visa. So much depends on getting this Visa ASAP and here we are left in limbo.

so sorry....

I have not been contacted directly -I have my appointment, my plane tickets, our plans etc etc etc....

not to mention the emotional investment- my wife and I have been literally counting the days to the appointment date- so much so that there is NO WAY I am not sticking with my plans and going-

regardless for what they say, 2 years 8 months and 2 days is my limit.. whatever their issue is they better be able to fix it by 8/6 7am

Yea,
Well since its only my wife then for TB they do a chest x-ray, on top of that they do a blood test and the results are sent to the doctor of choice a couple of blocks away from the lab. Then the docs performs the physical and shots while the X-rays and blood test comes up and is deliver. This is all done in one day. For children, the TB test is performed differently and i believe it takes 2-3 days.
Also this is in south america, i don't know which is tour consulate, it might be different

my petition is for wife AND daughter and they are both getting medical- one adult and one child - so that makes sense..  I read up on TB testing online and they do wait up to 72 hours --

sooooo close.

thanks

Sounds like my wifes medical- more than one day- i am reading some others that get it all done in one day?  can you enlighten me on why some are in one day and others in multiple days?  or anyone else want to chime in?

Just checking in
Hubby and stepdaughter did medical Monday.
He said it was a longgggg day. They got 8 shots total and paid 700.00US

13days until interview.
Hope he can make it here by last week in August so she can start school on time.

The Medical is $600 in Honduras....  we paid about $20 at the public Hospital when our daughter was born in 2009--  to put it in perspective.  They made my wife wait 72 hours for results of TB test?  I am beginning to think that is not the norm.  Did you complete it all in one day?  she is returning tomorrow for the packets.-- its a looong three days

FYI, CEAC does not always show the latest information.  For my wife's case, it still shows Administrative Processing, even though I received an e-mail from ustraveldocs over 8 hours ago saying that her passport would be sent today, and then I learned from the courier (Pony Express) website that it was picked up from the embassy almost 4 hours ago.  So now it's in transit, and I feel much better.

Here's something I found helpful.  You can send an e-mail to:  passportstatus@ustraveldocs.com, and just put the passport number in the subject line (nothing else in the subject or body of e-mail).  You then get a pretty quick auto-reply that tells you what's happening.  Earlier today, I received, "Your passport is still with post."  But now, I get, "In Transit From Post."  :)

But CEAC still says Administrative Processing...

Thats Good Info!!

Thought I would check in-- been a few days since I checked in..

my thoughts are on the Medical...

I guess it is normal to take a few days to complete the medical--  my family went to Teguc to get medical (& new "acceptable" birth certificate) in preparing for the 8/6 interview--

5 or 6 hours travel time, hotels, etc etc-- then the Doctor wants to make an appointment for 8/2!!!!(not) -- got in yesterday and I guess tested for TB and have to wait 72 hours to get results!

Are Medicals always this time consuming- hanging out in a hotel in Teguc ....

almost there...  cant wait to be FREE of this..

I leave on 8/1 from here to travel to Honduras and meet my wife on 8/3 then we travel BACK to Teguc on the 4th- interview on the 6th!!  fly home on the 13th (knock on wood)

Hey guys - do I need to register at usatraveldocs.com?

I think this is an embassy specific question, I know that for HONDURAS you have to PRE register with them and choose a office for your papers to be delivered to via cargo express and that is done on the travel docs web page ( I had to call them to get it done)--

THis is something that just recently changed for Honduras- prior to last month you did NOT have to choose a cargo express--  I would do it anyways just to make sure you cover all your bases and check your embassy for any special requirements they may have--

prepare and prepare some more-

good luck

This is by FAR the most nerve racking time of this process, in Three weeks our interview will be complete.  All the preparing in the last YEARS has come to this, thank goodness for this website and be obsessive about being prepared-- even still they are tryng to throw us a curve ball.  In the LAST 30 days, some changes have been made by the HONDURAN Consulate, they no longer accept the LONG VERSION of the birth certificate but now ONLY ACCEPT a new format called the BOOK OF BIRTHS, which apparantly is a microfish or printout of the official registry and has to be certified-- well we are running around in the last minute getting this for the interview.  Thanks to a fellow VJ member who has his interview shortly after mine he pointed this FACT out to me.  I called the NVC and said had they known about this?  is there a DATE when this took effect, all he did was pull up the HONDURAN Embassy web site and read the same thing I was reading -- but the interesting thing is if you look on other pages of the website it contradicts itself, his advice was just get it, and even though they accepted the LONG VERSION of the passports until recently they can do or say whatever they want.  ANOTHER CHANGE they made was in the delivery of the approved VISA, in the past it was always come back the next day and pick up the VISA, but now you must preregister with DHL (cargo Express) and wait to get it sent to you---  I guess if I am worried about the delivery of the VISA I dont have to worry about the interview if that makes any sense- but-- our flight is 6 days after the interview and NOW all of a sudden they have digured out a way to stress me out even AFTER the interview...

I am blabbering but HERE of all places you should understand WHY we blabber on - and let this drive us CrAzY!

hoping for the best- I start my trip on Friday evening August 1st- and will be reuinited with my three princess' on August 4 at 2 am...  that alone is reason to TRY to calm down.  The JOURNEY in the name VJ is very appropriate.

I really can't answer your question about can you go in embassy. Your country portal page has no consular information. I would suggest asking this country in your countries forum. Also have you gone through the 40 interview reviews? There may be information there also.

You are almost done. :goofy:

Ok, been reading through the Embassy reviews, when I started reading I remembered that I had read some of them before but it was a long time ago, reading them again had new meaning now that I am closer, in the past it seemed like a far away goal.  It does answer the question about IF I will be allowed in, and after reading several they all attended the interview but only one person allowed in the following day to pick up the visa.

Reading the reviews did raise another question, many people say they ask for documents original documents, I have already sent my original documents to the NVC and I understand that they will forward to the Consular office for interview, I'm a little confused by that- I only have copies of what I sent in at this point.  any thoughts on that?  do you think I should start gathering NEW originals ??  I think not that was quite a task--

other than that I don't think I have any other questions at this time- - I appreciate your input.

thanks

When we have our interview scheduled, I will be traveling to Teguc with my wife and daughter for the big interview day.  How does that work?  will they speak to all of us as a family or will they single my wife and daughter out and interview them separately?--

My wife does not like the interview process only because we actually have applied for a tourist visa in the past and she went to those interviews alone and was DENIED.  I am not worried about the merits of our case or the evidence that we have (extensive)-

Only today did I think of them separating us, either way I am going with the plans and HOPES of returning to our new life with them shortly thereafter.  a little history we lived as a family for several years in her country before I returned to USA.--

My petition is for my wife and stepdaughter, we also have another daughter who does not need an interview, we completed the report of birth abroad to US Cit. and have her US passport ready to be used.

I am so ready for this to be done, ONLY here at this website do I feel when I say that YOU understand.  Most people do not know what a long and extremely stressful process this can be.

Godspeed...

I must admit- I am celebrating --  hard to stop smiling...

waiting on delivery via cargo express--  if we had the interview a month ago the system was different you picked it up in person the following day- now you MUST use cargo express--

I am returning to USA / (work) with my wife and daughter finally...  Our oldest daughter will follow soon after - she vacationing with grandma for a month or two until we clear up her papers...

I admire your optimism but I have to admit I don't understand where it's coming from. The 6 week figure is from NOA2 to case number assignment, and it's a very reasonable expectation. Looking at that spreadsheet it's taking a month from case received to case number, and that's after the time spent getting from service center to NVC.

Ok, ---  only time will tell...  in the meantime we can only HOPE.

thanks

Receiving the NOA2 hardcopy was the best for me.. seeing the look of pure happiness on my husband's face.. (through skype of course) was the pinnacle!

I thought.. we are own our way now! Then I started reading the NVC thread and realised it will be a MONTH and a half for case number to be assigned..

I felt like one of those test dummy that had just crashed into a brick wall!

6 weeks to assign case number??  I have to disagree, look at the SPREAD SHEET LINE 685 and below..

https://docs.google....anc&hl=en#gid=0

Most  recently are less than a month and AVERAGE TIME to work through the NVS process is 51 days.

I don't expect to wait a MONTH and a half for a case number- and I am HOPING that I can be BELOW average in getting through the NVC process....

KEEP THE FAITH!!!

if you have your case number you can check it here https://egov.uscis.g...d/CaseStatus.do

Not your case # but your Receipt number from your I797 form starts with MSC, your case number will be assigned when it reaches the NVC.
