K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

Is it just me, or do European applications (on average) move much faster than the rest?

I don't think country matters that much, except for Phillipines, of course. :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

Wait I'm very confused.

I thought NOA1 is also the ARN changed. I mailed my package on Jan 10th. They received it on Jan 6th and I got a NOA1 on Jan 15th.

This has been in my USCIS case status:

On January 17, 2014, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

So are we supposed to wait 5 months (avg) from NOA1 or from ARN ?

5 months is an estimated time from NOA1 to NOA2. :)

Yes, Must be true, I'm guessing some people don't send enough information or they forgot to sign something so they get it back etc, So they go on with the next one etc etc.. But one day we will hear something, Until then.. we just have to do something to keep us occupied, I've started reading a book, So hopefully that will pass time :)

It's only a few days and I feel really stressed about it, I think I'll go mad by the time I get the approval :) That's a good way to relax, though, and I've been watching TV series, and Game of Thrones is coming out so that'll be a great way to pass the time ;)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

I've read through the Jan fillers and I think us March will be waiting a while. hah! But I see some people (Not a lot) have had their NOA2 and they are JAN/FEB fillers.. Do they go through the applications in the order they receive them or not? :)

I've read that when they assign an Alien Registration Number, it means that an officer started looking into the file. So right now our files are being looked into, even if it's only 2 days since they got mine :) So I think there isn't really a waiting line, the wait depends on the evidence and the background information they need to get. Some take months and months and some take only a few weeks.

The A# for my petition also changed a day after I got my NOA1, that was 77 days ago <_<

Ohhh, well, hopefully you'll get a reply soon. And I guess we will have to wait, it seemed like a dream anyway :/

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

Yeah, I have read that somewhere as well. We didn't send a lot with ours, Just enough to make sure it is a genuine relationship and that we have meet in person 3 times within a year etc etc

That way, I'm hoping that it can lead to an early approval of some sort? I don't know. But In my mind I say that we will get approved in the 5-6 Month period, That way I don't go insane ;)

I'll be praying for you, And please let me know if there is a change in your case, I'd love love love to hear back from you :)

I'd love to hear back from you, too! We also send not a lot evidence, just enough, so I really hope it won't take 5-6 months, but like you, I also think that we will get approved in 5 months :)

Best wishes and good luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

I would say, just try be a positive. But, here my experience. I had a friend (same sex K-1 visa filer) on VJ that filed I-129F almost same time with my fiance. His fiance's alien registration number was changed earlier before mine. The result? I was approved after 38 days - 2 weeks after my alien registration number was changed - and he got the approval 3 months later. The bottom line, there is no rigid conclusion that after it has been changed then approval will come right sooner. Anyhow, I hope you get approval near in the future and wish you all the best. Good luck!

I've read somewhere that after an officer receives the case, he or she looks through every evidence in the file. Some need more background check and some take less time. I don't know how long it would take for them to go through our case, but hopefully not too long :) Thanks for the reply!

I don't know what it means, But mine says it was changed on March 25th 2014. I've read into it, Some people say it can be an error and some people say that they got their NOA2 a few weeks after this

notice, So crossing my fingers for you that you'll hear something :)

I'm crossing my fingers for you, too, and for myself! I'm trying not to keep my hopes up, though :)

We waited a month after ARN to receive NOA2.  I wouldn't take this as an indicator that things are progressing fast!

A month is a really short time, though! I rreally hope we would get it in a month :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

It means they entered some information about your case into their system. I would not expect an approval anytime soon; there are a lot of people waiting ahead of you in the queue.

I guess you're right, I'm trying not to be so hopeful about it :)

But I've seen some get approval in a month or two and some get it in 6 no matter how long the queue is. I'm sure there are lots of officers there looking at different cases. And I've read somewhere that getting an Alien Registration Number assigned means that an officer is looking into our case now.

Wish I could know what's exactly happening with it :)

yes! your close to get an approval! Goodluck! :)

I really REALLY hope you're right!! :)

I've been researching about it and some say it's just a glitch and some say I should expect an approval soon. But it's only been a day since we got our NOA1, I don't want to get all excited about this. But it's sooo exciting!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAlien Registration Number, a day after NOA1

Hi everyone!

I know there's been lots of posts about this, but it was shocking for me to receive the Alien Registration Number so early!

I've just logged in to USCIS website to check my case status and it says that my Alien Registration Number was changed on 2th of April, a day after we got our NOA1.

Does this mean that things are going fast in TSC and we'll get NOA2 soon? I really hope so!

Best wishes and good luck on your case!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTSC on Igor's List

Ah HUGE problem is people entering Texas as the service centre and then transferred to California same day (not a transfer).

Some people on VJ are confusing the Texas lockbox/sorting facility with the Texas Service centre.

Therefore when they list as transfer to California centre, Igor's list is going off the original service centre....

If you click on any of those TSC petitions that have been approved in 2 months or less, guaranteed majority are incorrect transfers (which don't count) and are making TSC timeline estimates seem faster than what they actually are.

TSC is averaging 5 months.

Thanks for the reply!

On March 2014 Filers topic, there was one case that got approval in 30 days in TSC. And I've also seen some approvals on February or January topics, and I'm pretty sure they know where their cases are. It makes me confused! And I think it's really unfair for TSC filers because CSC filers get theirs much quicker. :(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTSC on Igor's List

Hi,

I've been checking Igor's List on how the progress is going in Texas, but I always get confused about how things go there. They approve one from December, and then one from even March, and then from February... It shows that they have lots of cases still waiting from January or December. Why are things going like that over there? Is this normal?

Or can it be because some people don't update their timelines, or the ones that get transferred don't state that...?

LilayFemaleTurkey2014-04-10 02:50:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports***Timeline- You are doing it wrong!***

Why don't they send them to CSC?? They are pretty comfortable with time. I don't understand...

I understand your frustration. I mentioned about "transferred or not transferred" many times and probably many members here got tired and hated me for doing so. It is a crystal clear on notification - email, text, or NOA-1 hardcopy- where USCIS will en route the petition. It is not a rocket science to understand these things.

When a petition get transferred to another service center, USCIS will notify the petitioner about the case file. But usually transferred happens not right after acceptance which this is a problem now where some members tend to think Dallas Lockbox is same with TSC and when they received NOA-1 and read CSC listed as service center and then they thought their cases transferred to CSC.

Another thing, TSC is being slow in recent months because they also get petitions from Vermont Service Center and this is probably create backlogging cases. Vermont - from what I read and heard- is not processing K-1 visas anymore.

Oh this has been told and mentioned so many times... Still no change :) I just stopped being sad about it and I don't look at Igor's list anymore because I see the *insert some bad word here because of being so upset* CSC filers who fill their timeline as TSC and mess the data up :(

PLEASE PEOPLE DON'T BE SO CARELESS AND IGNORANT :'(

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsComing up on 5 months and still under initial review...
We got our NOA 1 on the 1st of April, and learning about people who wait for more than 6 or even 7 months, I'm getting myself ready for a long wait... It's just so unfair but I don't even want to talk about it anymore. I don't know if TSC will ever get faster, but we were thinking maybe we can get married in December, but right now it seems impossible. I planned most of the things for a winter wedding and now I have to do them all over again...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJust Bought the Ticket, Interview October 6th!!!!

Hi all!

My fiance and I just wanted to thank everyone on VisaJourney for the help and support throughout this tricky, stressful process. Last Friday we received our interview date from the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh.  October 6th!!!!! Goodness it seems so far away. I guess the Embassy is a bit backed up. Is anyone else's date this far away?

At any rate, this morning I just booked my ticket so I can be there for his interview. We've been saving like crazy to make this happen, and we definitely couldn't have gotten this far without everyone on this amazing site. So, thank you all so much.  Still sending prayers and blessings to all our Journeys.  108 days to find out if ours will finally be (sort of) over.

Love and Peace

Megan and Tee

Congrats!! It's just a little bit more waiting!! October isn't so far away, time passes by so quickly!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTexas Service Center - Who has gotten a fast approval for K-1?

My NOA-1 has a date of April 1, 2014.  I am just wondering, who has received a fast approval from TSC for the K-1? I am really hoping to have my honey here by September, god willing.  I sent out my packet on March 28, 2014, received NOA April 1st.  I know definitely for a fact I wont receive an RFE because I work for an immigration attorney and I submitted ANY OR ALL possible evidence they might request.  Please guys your input would be greatly appreciated.  I know it says 5 months but some people dont wait that long.  My NERVES ARE A WRECK!!!!

Hey, we have same NOA1 dates!

And I know it sucks, and people from CSC get approvals so quick and it gets on my nerves, I definitely know the feeling how bad it is to be away from a loved one... :'(

But just remember we're not alone in this. We should always comfort and support each other when we have nerve wrecks. Time will pass soooo quickly and we'll be so happy, and there'll be days when we congratulate each other for our weddings and babies! :D

Stay strong!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJust heard - k1 petition has been approved

Hi yeah so excited just heard that my k1 fiance visa was approved yesterday. Thank god. I know that now the petition goes to nvc. How long before I receive the hard copy of noa2? And when can I start calling nvc? What number do I call for nvc? At what point do I pay the visa fee and do the ds160 form online? Thank you everyone for your help. Thank you god for getting me through this part of the journey. It had been almost 1 year since I submitted 129f application.

Could you please fill your timeline? Thanks!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember filer 2013, still waiting.

Wow... TSC is more than a little slow... Did you contact TSC? What's their response?

LilayFemaleTurkey2014-06-27 04:18:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTSC and CSC comparison... FAIL.

I remember back then, there were a lot people complained why some VJ members got approved quicker than others. But, I've never seen people questioned about it after they just filed 3 weeks or less.  They had started complaining when they were reach 3 months mark. I told my fiance that the process would take a year to complete - I was the one who learned the whole process-. We never had expectation get an approval that fast and in fact there was a guy from the UK filed after my fiance got his NOA-2 before us. But it did not bother us, honestly, because we knew that sooner or later we will be together eventually.

Expect unexpected that was an attitude my fiance and I carried on for this process. I am not trying to lecture people here but my fiance and I spent time talking many hours everyday on Skype - imagine how long we had been in long distance relationship since we started dating back in 2008 and filed I-129F in 2013-. Do something else like what will you do after approval, learn next steps, planning what you will do after you come to the US, and etc. My fiance and I worked with hectic schedules that is why we never jealous if someone got approved before us.

I am the US now for more than 2 months and it is hard since I used to work for long hours and suddenly staying at home alone. Be prepare for culture shocks, different lifestyle, and environment. Learn the city where you will live in, what kind wedding dress you want, ring, wedding ceremony, many things that  you could use to occupy your mind from this process. You can do that while you are waiting the whole process completed instead keep checking the others timelines and feel upset about it. When you read horrible stories about K-1 visa filers here, you will be shock to death and feel grateful that you are not in their position (lost their files, petitioner was a suspect of AWA, lost their approval petition between USCIS and NVC, their petition was expired because never knew what to do for the next steps, and many more).

After all, that is just my 2 cents. Good luck for the rest of your journey, guys!

I know there will be a culture shock and even depression for me for a few months, at least, and it scares me sometimes even though starting a life with my fiance is what I want more than anything.

Thanks for the encouragement :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTSC and CSC comparison... FAIL.

USCIS does not process visas, they process petitions; it's a fairly important distinction.

Yes, but petitions are for the visas, right? So in a way, they are in the process of processing the visa. By visa, I meant petitions. :)

Yeah, it's pretty backwards. It just seems like there is absolutely no rhyme or reason as to when they will get to your application. I've been waiting since February and know that I probably still have a long way to go until NOA2.

Let's hope for a miracle... Maybe somebody will hear our voice and speed the things up a bit. :/

I'm in it with you. TSC 3-11-2014 NOA1.

LilayFemaleTurkey2014-04-22 14:40:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTSC and CSC comparison... FAIL.

Since I've got our NOA1, I've been checking how TSC and CSC process the visas. And I'm so dissapointed in how USCIS manages things between these two. There is NO equality. While March filers at CSC get approved in April, in TSC December filers are still waiting... Why so unfair?! Why doesn't anyone do anything about this??

And their speed is increadibly different, too. Whilte CSC approves aprx. 10 visas a day, or maybe more in terms of VJ data, Texas hasn't been approving ANY since last week. What is going on??

I'm really dissapointed. And I think only TSC filers can understand how I feel. It's been 3 weeks since we've applied, but I already know I'll wait for at least 5 months. This is so unfair... It's gotten to the point that seeing CSC approvals make me depressed and sad. Why is the USA doing this to us?

I always thought the USA is so proud of it's equality and stuff... I wish I could see that.

Ugh hate this wait...
Ugh hate this wait...

Couldn't have said it better--

it was 24 days for my original AOS to go from scanned in to approved for my wife--

it was 22 days for my IV Documents to go from scanned in to approved

we are now at 22 days - from when the checklist was scanned in for my 2nd (daughters) case--

When I spoke to a supervisor about the checklist back on 5/15- he told me it wouldn't take as long as the original---

turned out to be not true--

the waiting is best described as Ugh..  agreed.

Just called and still nothing new- so Monday will be the 25th day--

we can only hope.

ditto- I spoke to Gus- and he is one of the more compassionate ones....  but same news...

I called tha AOS was riviewed and I was told we are going to received a checklist because there is something wrongln it. She didn't want to tell was wrong, I am so sad :( :( this is going to delay more the process.

The IV packet hasn't reviewed yet!

unfortunately yes, you can add about 25 days from the day that they scan the response in-  IF you respond the same day it takes them 4 or 5 days to scan in so you just added at least a month-- I speak from experience-- I have the same situation-

sorry to tell you- best thing you can do is reply the same day you find out what was wrong-- and overnite your response- either way you will need to fill out and attach another I864 so maybe you can start working on that in the meantime.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - June 2014

what was the checklist for?

no "we".. you are :)

I'm stuck with the stupid AOS checklist for not writing N/A in place of residence.

It makes sense to me - if you get a checklist and respond it somehow should take priority over NEW reviews, because we all waited for the initial revue already.  Another thing that drives me crazy is my wifes case is complete and has been just sitting for two weeks now because my daughters case was held up.  The reason her case was hed up (checklisted) is I didn't provide duplicate evidence for her AOS, it is the SAME information already accepted on wifes AOS and was all in the same envelope togethor.  BUT instead of fast tracking the case that hold up my wifes case they drag the completed case back to the one still waiting...

The only way you can explain it is that it is that all rational decisions have been taken out of the equation and it is a series of checklists, if everything is in the right boxes it passes otherwise it gets sent to the back of the line, crazy but true not sure it is the way I would run a retail business but look up government red tape in the dictionary and you probably see the USCIS/NVC logo.

That said, it is NOT the guy/girl who answers the phones fault and will probably never change.  will be so happy to be looking at this in the rear view mirror.

What a humbling experience, not to often do I feel that a situation is totally out of my control, sometimes I just want to resist the temptation to call and the temptation to read about how all of our cases are progressing....  it is literally like watching paint dry, or grass grow...

the closer you get the slower it feels.

Congrats to all who have interview dates--  the CC will just be another step having the interview date will make the last time so much more bearable--  I know you all know what I mean, the longer you are here the more you understand the more you are humbled.

some of the messengers are so cold how they just deliver the 30 day spiel, I know its not personal and I know they have no stake in the game, but I just try and try to WILL the process to move forward and it wont- I think I am going NuTz.

each day is one day closer.

Now I need to go kick myself in the ####### again for making that dumb mistake that generated a checklist..  g'night...
