IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsTime Spent Apart

You know, you could write letters, old fashioned letters to each other, make a little detail about the day....after this is over you'll have a lovely collection of love letters, and you can save them and read them over and over.

Real paper is something you can hold in your hands, and smell, and feel. It's a beautiful thing, a letter....  :)

Don't worry, just call...the best thing you can do is to stay calm and explain calmly what the problem is (and likely just an error...they make mistakes too). They'll figure it out! Stay strong!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsi want to understand my husband

He may not want to ask for help, but if he wants you in the U.S. badly enough, he's going to have to get a co-sponsor if he makes under the required amount. There's no shame in it; a lot of people have to get co-sponsors.

Otherwise, what's the point? You'll get an RFE, and then he'll have to waste some more time, and then if he still doesn't get a co-sponsor, you'll get denied. Waste of both of your time and money.

Many thanks to Saylin (F)  and every single person in this thread  (F) for all the helpful information and also for the good times I've had when reading the good sense of humor that you all have while going through this long and hard process.

Good luck to everyone else going through this, I hope you'll have a very smooth NVC process!  :goofy:

The Netherlands also requires a pre-paid envelope. :)

They didn't tell us to bring an envelope; they just said to bring a postage stamp (Post.nl aangetekende brief sticker...about 7e?) for them to stick on their envelope.

And a very special thanks to Mrs. Saylin! Without you were would any of us be? Your the Godmother of this huge family. :luv:

Good morning ;-)Yes , I meant to send the last page the first time around but I guess when I made copies it got mixed in with the rest of some other paperwork . The only difference with the second I 864 is that I didn't leave blanks. NVC received it on the forth. I'm thinking I should wait until Tuesday n call to see if it was accepted?? I'm beating myself up over this :-(

Don't wait, you can call every day if you want to! And don't beat yourself up about it. Parts of those AOS forms are pretty hard to understand and it's really easy to make a mistake. I had to send our AOS forms in 3 times and felt like banging my head against the wall every time; even our accountant gave me the wrong info and I had to call up NVC to get them to help me with it.

So call and ask. They're not going to send you an email that it's 'been accepted'.  You have to call and ask them.

So I got the official email for missing the last page for the I864. I sent another I 864 a few days after I sent the first one because I was worried about the blanks. Do u guys think I should send another one exactly the same as the first (with blanks) just in case?

On the second I-864 you sent, did you send all the pages (including the one that was missing the first time)?

She told me that I should call back on May 13th to find out my interview date. So I'm assuming that she figures that is when they will finish which June Scheduling.

I'm hoping we get one at the beginning of June. I'm so over this ####### today.  I am missing my husband a lot today. This sucks.

I know it sucks waiting so long. But there's a light at the end of this seemingly endless tunnel. Maybe there'll be a cancellation for May, and you can slide in. I'm hoping so hard for you that this is so!!!

I see you got your case complete email on 3/10. Was your interview date in that email or did it come later or by calling the NVC??

I called the NVC on March 7, I think it was...and was told by a very nice lady that the Case Complete was actually on 3/5.

The next thing we got was the email of 3/10 saying that they'd "completed the domestic processing" and gave in the same email the interview date of 4/15.

I was stunned and happy, because I'd expected it to take longer to get an interview. 4 more days to go to the interview...!

Give it a day or so and try again to see if the problem resolves. Then call and ask...maybe they can give guidance at NVC. Like Darnell says, maybe it's the browser you're using. I find the only way I could get the CEAC site to work for me was to use Firefox, and we filled out the online forms using IE. They're using too many different groups to design this software!

Got our NOA 2 monday.   Now, As I fill out my I-864, I have a questtion on "my current individual annual income is" ....Ive been trying to find a solid answer on teh internet to no avail.   Is it my income on my last tax return, or is it what i project to make this year?    Either number is above the "povery line requirement", however my current income is quite a bit larger than my last year tax return(military, deployed for a few months).    And if its my current income...before or after taxes?     Or does it really even matter?   I just dont want to fill this thing out and send it in and get an RFE requesting it to be re submitted because "this number doesnt match such and such"..

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJanuary 2014 filers

Hello,

TSC is mixed up right now, they have lots of files back from December even, and it looks like right now they're mostly working with January and February files. But I've seen some from March or February get approvals. It's hard to tell because when people send their files to Texas lockbox, they think their file is at TSC and they put wrong information on VisaJourney.

And there are also the ones who don't fill their timelines! :) I'd recommend you to fill out your timeline both for others and also for you to get an estimated date for your approval.  :time:

Good luck!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportswhat is going on behind the scens?

I am curious--

After filing your I-130 and G325A---when you get your first notice of action- it basically is a receipt of payment-- and confirmation that they will BEGIN the process-- from that time it is about 4 months until anything else happens?--

what is going on over such a long period of time--

what are they doing with the paperwork sent in?

then when you get your SECOND NOA-- it looks like at that point it gets sent to the NVC- for collection of documents- and depending on how fast you reply you can get through that in a few weeks or a month to two?

at which point it is sent to the consular office for final interview and medical exam results etc etc..

so those first 4 months??  what is going on on their end??

seems kind of long...  BUT gives me more time to get my paperwork ready-- as I wait... and wait.... and wait.

And FURTHER MORE--  is their a "fees at a glance" for a family visa--?  what are the TOTAL fees?

I130 / G325 is $420   then

I 864 is another $88

what other fees are there- the I230 - is that $165

would that be all?--  BEFORE i started to do this - I DID ask some prices for a lawyer- and one quoted me $7500!!!  sounds Waaaaay high--  if someone could summarize all the fees that I will encounter I would appreciate it--

thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNEW YEAR - RE-NEWED HOPE, anticipation

Just wanted to say that with the NEW year With the turning of the calendar, I am feeling RE-newed hope and anticipation, having waited so long and been through so many DISS- appointments my anticipated time frame seems short at this moment.  EVERY day we are one day closer- Thank God for Technology like SKYPE- when I first had to leave Honduras we did not even have internet access at our house it was in this past year that we are able to communicate MORE - (affordably)

I do NOT know if anyone else here has been in my shoes but after I lived in Honduras for six years, I was not a qualified sponsor, and do NOT have anyone who I could ask to CO- sponsor so my time separated had been extended because I needed to get into a position where I COULD sponsor, ( we are there now)--  also WE had a learning curve, I actually thought we could qualify for VISITATION visas at first but after TWO denials learned the LAWS.

All that behind US now APRIL or MAY does not seem that far away- I am VERY MUCH forward to taking that trip to collect my wife and daughter(s)..

Happy and Blessed New Year to each and everyone of you -

I agree being separated from your loved ones can be stressful. I've been separated from my husband since August 2012 and you have no idea how stressful I am. My hair falls off and I sleep less every night because I can't stop thinking about the process. You are lucky you had spend the holidays with them.

I understand too- HANG IN THERE- I left my wife and two daughters in Honduras November 2012- When I left our youngest daughter was just 5 months old--

THANK YOU for what we have- strong faith, a strong relationship, a TEAM effort, and SKYPE video calls.  The first year we were separated we didn't even have SKYPE so when we got internet in that part of the country it was a blessing.

this too shall pass.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsexpedite / humanitarian reasons

I would like to hear in general some reasons for expedite that have BEEN approved for humanitarian reasons in the past, any examples?

Definition of Humanitarian "CONCERNED WITH HUMAN WELFARE"

synonymous with; compassionate or merciful or sympathetic or socially concerned or best yet MAGNANOMOUS.

well not so with USCIS-

Today, I decided to petition for an expedite request for Humanitarian reasons and was denied in less than one hour.  Their VERY QUICK email response said among other things...

QUOTE,"Due to the high volume of expedite requests for this case type, we are strictly enforcing the criteria that has been set for these expedite requests.  While your situation appears serious, your case does not qualify for expedite processing."

My wife and two daughters are living in the murder capital of the world, we have been married for 5 years and lived together for three of those, We have been apart for two years now.  We have a two year old (biological) daughter when she was born we reported her birth abroad and registered her birth with the Consular office, my two year old IS a US citizen and has her US passport, on the other hand my wife and stepdaughter are NOT- my petition(s) for them(2) has been pending since Aug 2013, I delayed filing the petition when I first arrived because I did not have sufficient INCOME to be a sponsor -- I got to work and improved my work and then filed.  The delay was for the sole purpose of qualifying as a sponsor BEFORE I filed, We have no Co- Sponsor available.  I qualify now my income EXCEEDS the requirements now.  I have all the documents and evidence ready and waiting.

The more time my wife is alone the more dangerous it becomes for her and my two daughters they are THREE woman living alone in a violent country.  Is this NOT HUMANITARIAN?  this is my question and if it is NOT ..... WHAT is?  any examples.

I am intrigued by WHO gets expedition and WHO does not.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsGot my I-130 approved within 5 monsths :) :)

yes its quick but you still have to wait until visas are available... no ?

What is the difference between a C1 and a F2A visa?  if you don't mind my ignorance--   I do SEE faster processing times for the F class---

you would think that Fathers separated from their wife and children would be the 1st priority--

2 years ago I had NEVER even "thought" about the immigration laws of the USA-

I was so naïve....

as I wait and learn- I still get confused sometimes- sometimes I understand and sometimes I think it absolutely makes NO sense.

but it is what it is

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - February 2014

So nice to belong here.  Just got this message on the USCIS website...

Post Decision Activity

On February 27, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

So maybe I am a "little" early to be here waiting for the NVC to receive my paperwork - and from what I understand that could be a week or two...

BUT "poco y poco"

PS so nice to have these forums to get prepared- I am so prepared I am anxious.

I did have a quick question - I only HAVE ONE ORIGINAL of all the BIrth Certificates and Marriage licence..  will the NVC want originals?  wll the embassy also want origianals when I do an interview or will the NVC forward the originals onto them--  I don't care if I have any EXTRa ones at this time and I don't expect to get origianls back.  but is ONE enough??

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsunfair

USCIS is faster with the K1 visas because they make them more money.  Plain and simple.

You also will not find CR1 visa interviews on the same website as the K1 interviews because it's possible that K1 can book their own interview whereas CR1 need to wait for the NVC to book the interview based off of when the embassy or consulate opens up dates.

There is nothing in immigration that is fair.  But it's a privilege not a right.

As soon as you take your entitlement out of the question, stop saying you deserve this, that, or the other thing, and start saying instead that you're grateful for the privilege, you'll find yourself in a happier place.  This is a year or two in a lifetime with a spouse.  Is this other person not worth this time and effort? Yes we all want to be togther, otherwise we wouldn't be going through this process.  But this 2 years for immigration isn't your lifetime, it's just a process you have to go through.  Doesn't mean it doesn't suck but it does mean you should always remember it and be grateful when you're finally together all the time.

Just my 2 cents anyhow.

well said...  and WE have had similar family conversations, we appreciate each other MORE and will cherish our time together, never wanting to be apart again..  valuable 2 cents

Such VERY personal issues, it hurts.  And lashing out seems to be the EASY thing to do.  I like many before me (after too) feel that MY situation is more important or MORE something than everyone else--  But in fact like it has been stated WE ALL are exposed to "the process"--

I have not seen my Wife, and two daughters (other than regular SKYPE calls) since November 2011.....  I had to return to the states GET A JOB and QUALIFY AS A SPONSOR BEFORE I could file a petition-  I don't have or wouldn't ask ANYONE to sponsor my family they are my responsibility.  After living in Honduras for FOUR years I certainly did not qualify.  MY ASSETS were wiped out by the economical downturns which FORCED me to do SOMETHING--

IF PRIORITY was based on TIME apart, married, engaged? children, no children? how long been married ? 1 year? two year?

UNFORTUNATELY -- NONE of this comes into play - it is GOVERNMENT BEAUROCRACY at its finest  RED TAPE-

So the best thing you can do is be honest, do your best, study, prepare, love, have faith and TRUST that your day will come.

THERE IS NO ANSWER THAT FITS ALL.

NEVER BEFORE have I had feelings of UNFARENESS and HELPLESSNESS like this before--

Put trust in GOOD and keep the faith, right now 60 or 90 days more feels like a walk in the park to me.
