Got approved today! :-)

 

Transfered on Feb 18th.

I got my first of three emails regarding my transfer on the 18th too--  got my fingers, toes, legs, crossed hoping to be following the trends....  common NVC!!

 

Just like everyone else - nervous that I may be asked for additional evidence or for some UNKNOWN reason postponed...

 

My petition is for my wife AND stepdaughter -- so I am hoping that does not throw a wrench in a timely transfer---  my evidence of marriage is VERY strong being we lived together and have had a daughter together who was reported to the consular as a US Citizen born abroad...

 

general feeling this process is waaaaaaaayyy to long for everyone... BUT hopeful we are in the home stretch now..

People are still waiting from February, March, April, May, June and July.

talking about unjust!!!!!!!

Those cases MUST be more complicated or "something" is not in order....  MORE than just the dates dictate processing times...and SOME may even be denied..

I understood that those SCs are maxed out and Nebraska will again begin to receive transfers to even out the load. I was also told to expect 60 days for an NOA2 post transfer, but we all see approvals come much sooner. Just wanted to share what I heard from someone who supposedly has better access to information than laypeople like us.

This sounds like some of the "canned" or "practiced" quotes - in a round about way saying nothing....TRENDS seen here give me a much more optimistic outlook, from past personal experience they always tell you more time so that way they arent wrong- after years of putting people off it must be easier to tell people longer expectations and then OVER deliver..  better for them to promise something and have somone come back for MORE questions..

Lots on your plate, I'm sorry to hear all this sad.png As far as what to do while waiting for a case number, I would recommend assembling all paperwork ASAP except the police certificate, you can afford to wait a month or so after NOA2 before getting that one (assuming the cert is valid for 6 months, I'm not sure what the case is for DR). It'll be ~2 months from NOA2 to case number, and a few more weeks before DS-261 is accepted and IV fee invoiced, so there's no sense rushing right out for a time-sensitive document.

TWO MONTHS after NOA2 to case #- AND a few weeks before DS261 is accepted---and IV fee invoiced.......!!??!!

 

I HOPE not-- here is some OVER generalized and optimistic analysis-

 

looking at the 88 cases that were completed in 2013 on the spreadsheet located in the NVC FILERS forum - the average number of days from NOA2 to case complete is 58 days...

 

NOW for even some MORE optimism, an average is an average, some higher and some lower- so I can only hope that my case is not too complicated and I have done everything that I can to prepare my documentation so I am going to be LESS than average- (for once in my life below average would be a good thing LOL) 

 

NOT to build up anyone elses expectations but my own BUT I am hoping for an NOA2 in a week or two and then 60 days form then be complete- IF I am living in a dream world--  its ok with me.  It gives me hope -- and also sets me up for disappointment (sigh)

In the mail today came my HARD COPIES of my I797 notice of transfer to CSC.

 

so CSC it is--  seems like they are just trying to get through the backlog in anyway they can--

 

Never thought I would be sent to CSC

 

hopefully a quick approval--  and then I can start chewing on the NVC

I got the same exact message today too- and it was my third one too.  first was on the 18th then again on the 19th and now this on the 21st--  I saw the other response and I BELIEVE that the hard copy is on its way

I am triple checking my paperwork trying to NOT waste anytime,and I have some questions....

 

Sometimes I think I got everything I need and sometimes I second guess myself.

 

I am just transferred but hoping for an NOA2 soon at which time my paperwork will be sent to the NVC...  I have all originals here with me (in USA)  when I go to the interview will I need my originals?  what is a "CERtiFiED" copy?  when I send my paperwork to the NVC do I send my ONLY original with the understanding that they will forward to the embassy for my interview?   I have police reports but they are expired now do I need the police reports for the NVC or will they approve it with espired co[ies and I can bring updated to the interview.  I KNOW these are questions for the NVC forum but I am asking these question in anticipation....  any input??

Question, that has probably been answered before, but i got an email stating my case was transferred on the 18th Feb (last night at 00:45 UK time), then one just now (13:50 uk time) saying my case was transferred on the 19th....

 

.... What did we decide this means?

FYI EXACT same thing happened with my case(s)  I have two petitions wife and daughter 2 emails on the 18th and 2 emails on the 19th--

NOA2 column tracks when people receive approval for their I-130, and yes, many people have received NOA2 8-10 days after transfer. California is processing petitions very quickly. That NOA2 date is not the same as the day USCIS ships the case to NVC, however. NVC stuff isn't tracked on this spreadsheet.

Wow so it COULD be a week or two from transfer to approval- Then you go right into NVC stage!! That is VERY encouraging.....I BELIEVE that I can get through the NVC stage very quickly because I have gathered all documents and just waiting for ANY request..

 

This is GREAT news.

on the speadsheet- the column labeled NOA2- is that be interpreted when the hard copy of the transfer is recieved telling them which USCIS office the file was transferred to..  OR

 

is it when USCIS has approved the application and transferred it to the NVC for processing--

 

I think some clarifications are needed becasue many people are saying they got NOA@ 8 and 10 days after transfer- IF that is NOA@ moving it to the NVC that is really something- but I suspect that is not the case and would like somone to elaborate on what that NOA2 SHOULD be.

I waited.

183 days which can be converted to one of these units:

the only good thing I get form this is that the hard part or MOST of the waiting is behind me- it feel like HUMP day waiting for the weekend..!

That estimate is for your NOA2, but it's based on other VJ members' timelines, which means it's not very reliable. It might've been more accurate before this backlog, but for the past year, nope.

ANd what is the average time from NOA2 to case complete- --"average", understanding everything is unique, from 30 days to 90 days? just trying to get my HEAD in the right place..  these false hopes are taxing.

When you look at times lines here at VJ and you see a comment LIKE this:

"Based on Timeline Data, your I-130 will be adjudicated between  XX-XX-XXXX and XX-XX-XXXX"

 

what is adjudicated referring to more specifically?  Is it arrived at the NVC, is it at the NVC and ready to go to the consulate?  Is it just arrived at the USCIS service center and being approve? 

Is it CASE complete?  what do those dates signify?

It just would feel soooooo good to be able to pick up the phone and call someone who I could give a case number to and they could look at my paperwork and give me a definitive answer on what I need or don't need and what to expect- this just waiting and getting these canned responses - wait -and speak when spoken to is one of the most frustrating things I have ever experienced- partially because it is so long- 6 months of waiting just to be told you are transferred and now you can wait some more is sort of .... a downer.

 

but in the end we do what we have to do

NOT YET!

The I-130 is not approved yet. It just has been transferred from NBC to TSC, still with USCIS.

TSC now will work on the application.

Once approved, then it will be transferred to NVC and then the case number etc etc..

ok, I understand that- I am correct in concluding from what I see that it is approximately 60 days AVERAGE from time of transfer to approval?  and also if this is the case I think that SOME PEOPLE are updating their timelines with NOA2 when it is transferred? a NOA2 is when it moves from USCIS to NVC. yes or no?

I got our transfer notice in the mail this morning.......and we got TSC.   How are the approvals for that center anyone know??

No facts, BUT from what I have read here at VJ, the TSC seems to have less of a work load than CSC, You and I have the same PD, but you have not updated your timeline?  I still have not received a transfer notice-- you got your formal letter pretty quick- WHEN I get my transfer notice I hope I get my letter that quick also.  Correct me if I am wrong but NOW you are waiting for a CASE Number and your INVOICE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER -- that would be the next step for you yes or no?  then after you have that information you can submit your AOS and pay the fee?  correct?

I sent in a copy of mine (USC) and my husbands both the certified copy and translated one. 


I got one around 615 CST, and was wondering what it meant and if this was normal??


I hoping and praying and waiting to get my notice, I imagine the sense of relief is overwhelming after 6 months of nothingness.  looks like it may be Tuesday for me (at the earliest)--

About the translations, I was under the impression that I could do my own, however some kind member on here uploaded the packet 4 list from the athens embassy and it stated that all translations must be done that the Greek department of foreign affairs translations unit. I'd say double check in the regional forums just in case. I'm glad I found it out now, translations usually take 2 weeks to be done and that's 2 weeks I don't want to waste!!

It may be regional, but I know that in Honduras they will accept self certification- I was told that by the local office here USCIS --  I should be careful in dispersing info-- it probably does depend on WHERE.

Guys, I really couldnt sleep last night, I was thinking and thinking, my priority day is 30th august so I know it will take a time to have my aproval and my nvc case number but I cannot stay in home only waiting and waiting, I want to feel that I am doing something so do you think that I can start getting the nvc documents like the civil documents and my birth certificate? and go to an official translator? is it too soon? nvc will see the dates in the papers, pleasee help!!! :/

You can self certify the translation if you are bilingual..  You should have already got the Birth Certificates (I hope)--- the expiration date of 6 months does not apply to those but to criminal records and I think the medical is even less than 6 months..I think the medical records are only good for 14 days.  ( I need to recheck that)
