The fee was there and now it's gone. Likely that the NVC are performing updates and so much of the activities are removed. You can call then and advise them of this if it's a known issue an expectation might be set.. if not .. they might just say wait a few days.

ok so i am a bi lost and yes i have been sent the simple NVC stage steps but am still so completely confused.....maybe its casue i have a lot going on outside this immigration process i cant think straight.....anyways here is where i am.....got our NVC number, emailed choice of agent form got confirmation back after 1 day, paid the AOS bill online......when do we send in all the docs for income and such? do they get sent before the DS230 and those docs or all together?


You can sand it it today if you want and have all the documents ready...! Once your payment is processed and your are sent the cover sheet then you can send off the AOS. The DS-230 will come in about 9 days after you received the DS-3032/AOS notifications. Some send it together to avoid the additional $18.00 in cost if using USPS.

I'm quite new here, hope you can help me. I'm in the process of sending I-130 for my mom. Does my naturalization certificate suffice as proof of citizenship or am I required to also send my US passport? I just applied for US passport and I heard it will take time to get approved and received it back. Did you send a copy of your US passport with your I-130, aside from your naturalization certificate?

Hey Chenielle, so at this point I'm waiting for my AOS payment to go from "processed" to "paid". I followed your advice and completed the I-864 AOS forms, so I could mail out straight away once I get the signal.

Question: I was going through your timeline and I see that you already mailed out your IV package (same as DS-230 form I believe), but your mom completed it and sent it to you before you mailed it to NVC. How did she obtain the form in the first place? Was it sent to her via snail mail, email, or can this form be retrieved online?


ALL forms are online. Can be filled out, emailed, print, sign/date, mailed to the petitioner since other information/docs will be sent to the NVC too.

I want to file a lawsuit or a class action lawsuit (if there are others who want to file a lawsuit too) against the State Department

I'm a US citizen, I have a 3 year old I've been trying to get a visa for. I can't bring him into the country and apply for immigration here. He has to wait for the USCIS and then the NVC to process his case and set up an interview with the consulate. The NVC is very slow. I have to be in the States because of the AoS requirements and this separation is very devastating for my son. He's lost a lot of weight and he grinds his teeth at night, due to the stress this has placed on him.

He was saying to me today "You go and you don't take us". I really didn't have anything to say in response. This is so sad. America claims they value family, but that is just talk, in action they don't give a f_ck.



Lawsuit..? Are you Serious..? You DONT have to be in the USA for the AOS.. please go ahead and READ the form/s or go to DOS's website for clarification.. know the process. You can Move to the country of the applicant and live there while maintaining a domicile in the USA. Hope this works out for you. But we should know the immigration laws in place before we run else where. You can move there with son tomorrow. and as a US Citizen you will not loose any benefit. Posted Image Same is for LPS who are outside the USA because of a minor child like my parents.. that's how it goes... they knew that before they petitioned for their son.

Our case was also completed on July 5th and have called them everyday and get the response of "awaiting scheduling in Manila". Pretty sure you will get a email this week from them but in the mean time call them every day and find out whats going on with your case.

correct... same email.. (times might be two.. but not likely) medical will be done using one of the list of immigration certified panel of doctors in canada of your choice.

I am however finding the information here useful - as its now been over the initial 5 months that was shown as a processing timeframe and as of 2/2/2012 it shows they are working on June 1 2011 filers... :(

You will apply for your citizenship come Feb. 7, 2012 & that would be good. You can expect your case for citizenship to take take about 4-5 months. Since u are going to take advantage od the 4 yr 9 months rule u should understand that if your interview happens before the actual "5 years" of being a permanent resident the case will be placed on hold hence no decision on the case. After you have done the OATH CEREMONY you'll be given the certificate of naturalization needed to upgrade the case to IR/CR-1. THE case would be upgraded on about 7 days or less after the request is received via email. And interview would be scheduled within 45 days if your consulate doesn't have a back log like the folks in other areas.

I guess the interview date depends on how busy the Embassy is at the beneficiaries Home Land. A friend of mine got her interview date assigned at the end of her 8th week wait. Her PD date was not current.

Hi guys,

I have an update, paid IV and AOS today and now collecting required documents, certificates, police check etc.. which is going to be a nightmare as I am overseas and was not expecting this step for a while as my PD is not for a while! So, not sure how i'm going to get a fingerprint check from across the world... hmmmm..... Guess, it's good news that NVC are requesting all this though hopefully it means a jump in VB. hope it doesn't retrogress by the time i get all my papers organized lol!
