K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMedical ~fanfare~

Hello, I have an upcoming interview date on Monday with Dr. Althea Banbury at the Medical Associates Hospital. I would like to ask those persons who have done their medical already:

1. What was your medical experience like?

in short - they wrk very slow and without much care

2. How long do I have to wait until I get my medical package? Same day or other?

definitely not the same day.. they don't wrk that fast. more like 3-5 days

3. Do I have to fill out the vaccination section of the Medical Health form beforehand?

your choice but it must be completed as it is a requirement

I am so excited that we're finally at the last stages!!! So what was your experience like?

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSO CONFUSED....SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

There is no quick fast way for either process. It's all about what you'll want at the end of the day. Being married or engaged doesn't always guarantee a visa at the end. The best thing I can advise is that you read up on the process for both(see guide tab above)and then decide what works best for you'll.

You will be best advised to remember, this Jamaican slogan: soon come. Nothing in Jamaica happens overnight.

Me and my fiance have been together for almost two years and we're getting married next year but trying to figure out the best/quickest option to get him here to the US with me. Just in the last year and a half I have been to Jamaica to visit him 4 times. We have been researching ways to get thru the imigration process quicker and to get him here...we have looked at getting him a fiance visa but I have gotten conflicting timelines on how long it will take for him to get approved thru that way. And we have researched me just going over and getting married, but we dont know how long it takes once we get married or what is the quickest process. How long does it normally take to get your marriage license back from Jamaica once you have married? I have seen conflicting timelines.

If you can give me any help or information at all it will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any help.

if you should get married and then file you can expect the process to take 8-10 months without any delays.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFee and form question
I went through all of the paperwork the other day just trying to plan ahead and it is not too bad. It will just take some time as this process always does. He will have to visit a civil surgeon to have some paperwork filled out in reference to his medical that he had prior to entering the US and his vaccinations. I had to call 3 before I found an office that actually knew what they were talking about. There is a fee for that as well which is not included in the amount that I just gave you...I don't think it is very much though...

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFee and form question
You are to apply for the Adjustment of Status for your husband not a k3. Go to the guides and pull all of that information. The fees are $1,010 total. It looks like you got married in April. Some people do wait past the 90 days to file the paperwork but I would not advise waiting too much longer.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIn need of advice before starting process...
I would suggest that you look at the guides and see what fits the best for the 2 of you. You have a few options. Is she in Denmark or here in the states??

In section 21 if you read it right above b. yourself it states persons that are NOT sponsored in the affidavit. You are only going to put 1 at the bottom

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC processing time
The amount of time that NVC typically has your file is just a few days but it can take longer depending on how many files they receive, etc... You can contact the NVC or DOS and check on the status of your file. You will also be assigned a new case number. After your file is sent to the consualte, you will be able to get updates about your file from DOS. The number for NVC is 603-334-0700 press 1 and then 5. DOS is 202-663-1225 press 1 and then 0. I hope this helps...

Well, I'm glad its not just me! It said there were 25 pages of results so I was surprised when the 'next' button returned me to the search instead of giving me more results.

I'm trying this today too for shipments from Weds. All I can get to work is the I-730 and correspondance. It gives 25 pages of results, but returns me to the search when I try to see past page 1. Of course, I don't see London on the first page. :(

UUMM not a bad estimate though, me i send my AOS and DS230 to nvc and was received by mid june had missing do and all was send and received on August 6, case completed on august 25, still waiting for interview so i might take about 5months or so, Do Your math From There

Not the case..!!! You're In kenya, Africa... You guys might have to wait 5 months but not the same for everyone. YOu sent your documents back in JUNE and August u got an RFE that COULD have been prevented.

AOS Received on 8/5 = No RFE, I sent my DS 230 for MOM and DAD and receive don 8/20 = NO RFE and case was completed on 9/13 and the wait in Jamaica IS NOTT 5 months... there's no math to be done.

The person below "Faby" got an interview for oct. 5th and his/her case was completed on August 31st.

My case completed September 10th, apparently I *just* missed the October scheduling (someone else had a case complete Sep 9 and got an Oct interview). So if all goes well, I am hoping by Oct 7 or so I, or rather my spouse, will have an early November interview for CR1.

Good luck everyone!

I like this, you got a plan......!

YES... if you were to send the emails.. what would you make reference to..? The files have to be opened so unstil this is done the NVC does NOT know what information did USCIS include so there for the case-class isnt assigned.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)I-846 quick question

Do the signatures on the I-846 need to be notarized? Thanx

No... if they are notarized you increase the chances of getting a RFE for proper documentation for that doc only... usually the STAMP from the notary would go over in the "offcial only" area which uscis employees/officials use.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Dilemma between the USCIS and the NVC!!!!

Thank you for the reply payxibka. Yes, my I-130 was approved by the USCIS when I was in the country (US). I was deported a few months ago and now I have to go that way to get back in the US. Should I assume that because I already have an I-130 approved by the USCIS, I'm not considerate DCF? Again thank you payxibka. God bless you.

DCF is only allowed by certain consulates.. and most times the US Citizen has to reside in the country where the DCF is being requested if offered. IF the I-130 was mailed to USCIS then it was not a DCF. This is done locally and they (office) accepts the receipt of the form.. some offices may process it there while others may send it to the USCIS office over your area to have the form adjudicated.... Others might have something to add.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)DS-230 Signature?

I'm the petitioner...and NVC told me to fill out the DS230. On the DS-230 at the end of the first part it says APPLICANT'S signature. If they sent me the paper to fill out for my husband, can I the petitioner sign it because I am preparing it. (p.s. this is not the section that needs to be signed in front of a consular officer)

Definately Not

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Ds-230 originals and copies?

I didn't include the photographs when sent off IV packet. Immediately i called NVC & live operator said, you could send it with COVER SHEET, I also asked is there any chance to delay for this reason, she said it would be save time than waited for RFE receive. I hope she is true.

Thank you - I was able to review the photocopy requirement/s. I guess they are trying to save time for themselves. I didnt submit the photocopy of any of the 7 orginals submitted but WOULD have had i seen that.

Even though you sent off your packet and forgot to do this... dont send them off.. it may cause delay to your case and the NVC will not tell you to send any document/s unless they RFE.

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Contacting NVC

If you wake up in the middle of the night, 3:00 am for example, you should get through on the first try. Was never busy when I called. Only thing is there are no operators, so you can just check the automated system. Put in your USCIS case number and if they got it, it will tell you the NVC case number.

I love this Idea.... And since the poster (just) want to know if the case was received then he/she can wake up at 3am or call just after 12am when they are closed if u dont want to life by the phone all day.
