Standard letter that almost everybody gets. In a few days your wife will get the Interview Letter with date, time & location and what to bring to the interview.


I was not subjected to that standardized letter. I got the regular interview letter as nothing was/is missing from my file.

My wife got a strange yellow letter in the mail yesterday. I didn't get to see it because I'm on travel, but paraphrasing it said something like "This is not an interview date, but please bring your state issued photo id to your interview". So basically they sent a yellow letter to tell her that it wasn't an interview letter, but that she should bring her driver's license to her interview. What the hell is this thing?

It is a letter/checklist sent when information are missing from the file.

Please note that although our green card paperwork was through Nebraska our n-400 is through Phoenix. Next time time updates, please change mine. Additionally, my husband had biometrics yesterday and was done within 10 minutes. No wait time in St. Louis.

Ok so here I am with the update for Nashville, Tennessee. There are only 2 Naturalization Ceremonies Scheduled for April and they are 21, 22. To let every one know ... After your interviews are completed you/your case will undergo a re-verification process - THEN your oath will be scheduled. Here's to my April 22, 2011 Oath Ceremony. Posted Image

yes... it's ok though. I called the person who is over the naturalization Ceremonies to ask what are the dates for the Naturalization Oath Ceremonies in April 2011. I will go to the Interview and try to "make" my own date. OR least KNOW my date prior to departing. I think I'll do just fine.

yeii my hubby's case has been transfered to local office, but i only got the notice for future interview date on the mail yesterday, i wander if it takes long to receive the interview letter after that???? :bonk:

Does transfer to local office has any dependency on actual FP dates? In other words, Does USCIS wait for FP results be cleared before transferring the case to local office or is it all based on priority dates.

Appreciate all your thoughts / experiences on the same.


yes the biometrics must be taken. Finger Prints/Name Checks etc would be cleared prior to transferring the case to the local office.

yeah notice date was exactly 1 week after my FP and i received it exactly 2 weeks after FP.. i think they are starting to move forward with January filers in regards to interview schedules. I was just wondering, will we ever get affected with the said Government shutdown just in case?


Mine Too... My FP was on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 and my Interview notice was on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 (well 8 days). Govt. shut down you say..? i was not aware of this... what's going on... hope someone else will have some info.

I just got off the phone with uscis (again) asked when is my interview date. I was advised information can't be given due to security concerns but will be in march and the receipt notice or notice to appear was generated today and should be received WITHIN 2 weeks.

Who and what number did you call to check if FP were cleared ? I like your idea of being on top of the game. Oh and by the way a small correction - One can certainly check the namecheck/background check status (I have done that myself in the past). You call the FBI - 304 625 5590. Options 2, 5 and then 3. I will call them in a month from now if I don't get a interview letter. But so far everything is normal.

yep uscis, phoenix, Arizona Field office seems to have there act togethere with the N-400s applicants.
There proberly approx 4/6 wks faster than texas.:whistle: maybe because Texas have got more states to deal with than Arizona.

Good Question Basab....Im not really sure myself if they have got something in place for what you ask....i do know that they have got to reply back witin 120 days in each step of the process..

I called an hour ago and was told that my fingerprints were cleared and uscis has the information. There's no way to check the name/background checks.

yep that seems to be the way its going....anything from 2/6 wks after F.P, then applicants get there interveiw letter, then the norm is around 4/6 wks for interveiw day, after (approved)there interveiw the oath which ranges from same day oath (not many) to same month/next month.. onwards..

Average time from start to finish unless there is "no problems" with an application will take approx 16/20 wks...give or take


that's correct about 2-3 week after the FP the appointment letter would arrive. i took the time last night and looked at the August2010 thru December 2010 filers and noticed that the trend was "about 3 weeks." I especially wanted to know because I looked on the processing times for the Memphis office and they are saying that as of 2/14/2010 they are processing cases files prior to July 16, 2010.. But looking over the previous posts i saw many applicants who went thru the memphis office completed teh process in just at 4 months .. so i'm hopeful.

I know others say mid-week but I dont really stand by what others say. Matter fact Nigel I went fully prepared with my case that would allow them to allow ME to get the appointment done today. Thing is if I can ask them on wednesday then- I can ask any other day.

I got there at 12:55p and was out of there by 1:03p at work by 1:15pm. I sat for 30 Seconds when I got thru filling out the form after which my number was called... There was no waiting time. The person taking my biometrics said "You came at a good time ... Usually were are busy right before lunch at about 1130 all the wsy thru lunch." Said "well I guess I am lucky." After my process was completed I signed an eletronic pad asked if It will appear on something she said she didnt know she said the same about my photo.

Someone please update my status i'm not on a pc.
