K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsThe "No, Nothing Yet" Thread

I wonder if they just started the Security/BAckground Check with my touch and now we wait til the all-clear. Not sure why someone in the UK would have to wait a long time for a background check though.

I'm just rambling...trying to make sense of all of this. This is really putting a strain on everything in my life right now...I just flip out on my guy sometimes which doesn't help things... :(

Your profile says Lebanon for beneficiary's country. ?? Or is the beneficiary (not sure if its you or your fella) a UK citizen living in Lebanon?
Regardless, I think being in Lebanon may be the crux of some of the problem. Unfortunately, they probably scrutinize people living there moreso than people living in the UK.

Is it fair? No - but that sure seems to be how it is.

You sure have been waiting a long time, too. Have you all contacted the USC's congressman or senator for help?

~160+ days and counting!!, I have decided that in order to relieve my stress, I will fly to the Philippines next week and spend some time with my baby.

Jesus!!!!! I didn't realize there was yet another Nov filer left! I sure hope you have called your congressperson - and if so, what were they told? Probably that stupid arsed 'you're within processing times'. Well hey, at least on May 7th, you'll be OUTside their BS processing time - so what, that means they'd actually get off their arses and adjudicate?

That is maddening! I always wonder who's the other Nov filer with a Filipina fiancee (besides Jim&Gemz) waiting for the NOA2... so it's you!

Mae

jlcross is another Nov filer. I think there may be a few others, too, but it could be that they're not on VJ now and haven't updated their timelines.

Poor Jim and jlcross. Now THAT is waiting!

February filers? Not so much - still well within normal, even for VJ standards.

161 days? that seems a little bit unusual. I thought they were getting up to January now and had finished most of the December filers... have you inquired at the CSC to see what your case status is? I would definately be concerned. Good luck though, hope everything is ok!

As for me, nothing yet!

Have you ever called? It's an automated menu system and you don't really talk to anyone. You cannot get customer service on the phone until you're past their "current processing" date, which is still September.

And even IF you get someone on the phone, all they can tell you is what you can see via the online updates (that your case is pending).

Don't assume that people who are still waiting are doing so because they haven't inquired. There really IS no way to inquire, at least not as a layperson.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 for March filers (Vermont only)
I don't think CSC filers are 'bitter' about not going through VSC - it is what it is. You can't help where you live anymore than I can help where I live. Nor can you help that VSC processes a significantly smaller number of applications while CSC processes at least double that number - and yet don't send any of their backlog to VSC to help (guess that is too logical!).

But it IS frustrating to see VSC filers in a panic when they get touched and don't hear anything 2 days later. Or who sent it in two weeks ago and are wondering 'where oh where is my NOA2?' If it wasn't so infuriating to read, it would really be almost laughable when you've been languishing away in the CSC for months.

I agree - we all just want the process to go as fast as possible. I just wish VSCers would count their blessings a bit before they start having a moan after two weeks go by without any news (oh the humanity!). Not just that, but have some compassion for us poor CSC sods as well!

I know I don't speak for ALL CSCers, but I'm sure many others feel the same way.

Edited to say - sorry I inturrupted your thread - I'm out. Feel free to PM me if you'd rather discuss it out of the thread.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 for March filers (Vermont only)

I dread to imagine the stroke that 128 days of waiting would cause VSC filers.

It seems like Vermont filers do get their NOA2's more quickly in general but it is not the visa yet. And it looks like Montreal has a super long waiting list for the interview.

Actually we've already had to wait a year and a half before moving forward in our relationship - of course we hope that our visa process is speedy but it is in God's hands and timing. Just because we filed in Vermont doesn't mean things happened or are happening quicker for us - some of you filers got engaged pretty quick and started the whole process much earlier in your relationships!

That may well be, but please don't lump me in that 'you filers got engaged pretty quick' category. I knew my fiance for over 2 1/2 years before we sent in the I 129f.

I agree that the process levels out somewhat at the consulate phase but even at that - I know MANY CSC filers who would gladly switch places with even those VSC filers who have to wait a month (shock, horror!) for their NOA2. A month versus almost 4 at the service center is a HUGE difference, no matter how fast or slow your consulate may be.

Congratulations to everyone that has made it to NVC and beyond!

Has anyone received a letter from NVC yet?

And, TimsDaisy, shouldn't the NOA2 hard copy be taken to the beneficiary's interview?

You will get a snail mail letter from NVC.

As for the NOA2 at interview, send your fiance a copy of it. You'll also need a copy at AOS time.

That's in the K3 forum - I believe K3s and K1s are processed a bit differently at the NVC. But it may give the K1ers an idea as to how long its taking cases to get to NVC.

That's the part I can't figure out. I called NVC exactly a week after NOA2 and they had already sent it to London the previous day. Now its taking 3 weeks just to get there? Something has definitely changed.

Look at some of the threads in this forum! There have been TONS of US/Canada people have goint through Vermont!

Why this would be taking over a year is beyond me - although I don't understand why the USC would fill out the forms in May of 06 and the lawyer didn't send them in until some 10 months later. ???? Something is certainly not right here.

How did you pay the fee, by check?

If you look at the graph of current processing times for VSC, you don't appear to be too far off the norm. They're definitely slowing down a bit.

If you'll fill in your timeline, you may even get an estimated date of adjudication to see where you are (compared to other VSC filers).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports64 days and nuttin

Thanks for getting back to me. I think that we might have to do that as I think we might be getting one of those RFE (?) things coming our way due to us forgetting to send our statement of intent and, it looks like now, filling in the G325 rather than G325A. Either way, we need to know what to do as we have a wedding to book and plan for.

We're concerend about calling again as the last lady we spoke to was no help at all. But, we do need to get some clarification as to our position. I thought it would have been a walk in the park for us as we have been living together for over two years now, but we seem to be having it a lot harder than other people who have only spent a few weeks here or there with their loved one. I mean, no NOA1! It's crazy.

Nothing with USCIS is a walk in the park, unfortunately. I suspect filling in the G325 instead of the G325A will most definitely garner you an RFE.

Could the cust service center not pull up your case with just your names/dates of birth? It'll be hard to find out anything without your case number.
