I sent an email to Igor last night to let him know the site wasn't updating. He was able to fix it and it's now updating and current.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNovember 2009 K1 CSC Filers
There is a great post that Gary and Alla posted with an interview of the director of the USCIS for Vermont. He explains exactly what happens with the file. Very informative...From what I remember, there are background checks done but a majority of the time waiting is for someone to actually pick up the file and review it.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I have said about 1,000 times "We don't know when it will be but we are hoping...this date or that date. Even as close as we are now, I just have to keep saying...we don't know...yet. I think planning once you have an interview date is a better idea. I would not book tickets or anything but have a reasonable date in mind. The one thing that is helpful in this process is that it is not a "normal" situation so friends and family tend to be a bit more flexible and the expectations are not as high because your plans are not in your hands and those who are close to us know that...I finally started telling people when they asked me when the wedding date is.."when the federal government tells me"

The K-1's are being approved a lot faster than they were earlier this year but that can always change. We waiting 4 months to get an approval and are on our second month waiting on an interview. My advise, don't have any expectations because in this process, there can always be delays. We are close to the end and we still have not made any plans and are not going to until that visa is in his hand. If you make plans and have expectations for certain dates...you will put extra stress on an already stressful process. I know that you want to, I know how you feel but I never thought that it would take this long just to get an interview date and we still do not have one...I know this is easier said than done but you are going to have to be patient. Believe me I have had my moments but unfortunately, this is just how this process works...

I know that this is not a fun time however that time frame is not very long at all compared to when my husband and I went through this. We filed in May of 2009 and didn't get an approval until September of 2009 and waited until November for the interview. It has been 3 months and you are half way there. Just be patient. I know that is easier said than done but it will all work out...

I got the joke...

By the way Diana...I'm getting a kind of SpongeBobby feeling today.... it feels like a 'certain couple' is going to get some good news.... (John just needs to call a certain place.... that's the feeling...- ok, it's more of a hope, but it feels right today..)

We already called today.

Right on Jack. Unfortunately, you learned the lessons with the 800 number the hard way...! They're basically there to reinforce the BS timelines published on USCIS' website, and to tell you what you already know (that your case is pending).

Beyond that - they're about as much use as a fart in a windtunnel.

Ditto what Otto said. I'm afraid its a bit too early to contact your representative.

This is why the VJ timelines should only be taken as a ROUGH guesstimate. Too many fall between the cracks to call it anything but that. And we all know by now that 'first come first serve' stuff is major BS.

Remember what Huskerkiev said though. Adjudicators leave RFE cases on their desks so that when the evidence gets returned, they clear them as soon as they can. Looks like you mailed the RFE back Saturday so conceivably (depending where your fiance lives), they just got it Weds. By the time it made its way to the adjudicator, it could be Thursday. That's only been two work days ago. Maybe this week is your week!

Hi there! You need not to worry as long as you're in your time frame. It's been pretty slow lately at CSC for VJers and the last approval I saw got NOA1 date of 12/23... Hopefully next week will be the week that everybody's been waiting for... SHOWER OF NOA2SSSSSSSSSSS!

Hang in there and good luck to you!

Mae

Mae:

Thank you for your kind response. It is just another test for me and my girlfriend. As the one went through K1 process, you are the person who will truly understand the feeling of the people like me who is patiently waiting for the NOA2. Thank you again.

Jack

Keep in mind, too, that not EVERYone falls within the Visa Journey timeframe. I made the big mistake by thinking that our case would, and went through a lot of torment when it didn't.

VJ is just a small sample of the entire population going through CSC - who process more than just I 129f's, too.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting for a NOA2 from VSC for your I-129F?

Tis true :D but still not a very good excuse for my 'senior moment'. And yes - I can TOTALLY understand how you feel to get that albatross from around your neck!

I know that I've read of at least two people who that has happened to - I believe LisaD is one of them.

No idea - but I have noticed its gradual slowdown over the past month or so -- even before they took on some Texas and Nebraska filers. They used to be lightning fast, and while I expected some slowdown with the new filers, I didn't expect it to hit this soon (or even before the fee increase).

Perhaps its something as simple as staff being on summer vacations?

I know LisaD and StillthePrettiest both were transferred to CSC but that was before the new processing centers went 'officially' into effect. I haven't seen that happen to anyone that filed at VSC after July 30.

I know I read in a thread *somewhere* that VSC were prioritzing other types of petitions for awhile, but that they'd be back up to speed mid-July. Obviously that hasn't happened. Oh I wish I could remember where I read that! So, there's MY senior moment!!!

Oh, ok - that's exactly what I was after -- that no VSCers had the LisaD/StillthePrettiest experience after July 30th.

I still wonder why they bothered to 'allow' you to file at the other location pre July 30th if they were just going to transfer them anyway? USCIS at work...!

 We're both allowed I guess! That would make more sense, really, except they're obviously off pace if they've not switched gears again by now.

*edited cos I can't type, and I am craving a Hostess ding dong...! *

I'm not really that stressed out! When/if I get to the point that Clarky & Tarah are at now, THEN I'll be stressed! Otherwise, just passing the time with my buds on VJ!

Girlfriend, where have I been??? I just now saw that you'd filed!!! (A big DUH for me on that one)

 :D

Also, question for you VSCers! I saw where a few folks who used to be Texas filers (before the fee hike) filed at VSC, but were then transferred to CSC. Just wondering if any former Texas post-fee hike filers were having the same experience?

Did that make any sense?

I'm sure you can appreciate the complete and utter relief I am experiencing over FINALLY filing!!! :D As for not noticing, well I figured you're very busy basking in the glow of being a newlywed! :P Lucky girl!!!

Regarding former TSCers now VSCers having files forwarded to CSC...haven't seen it, but I think its a tad early IF that is going to happen.

What is the deal at VSC????

QUOTE (RSA @ Jan 11 2008, 03:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
How can that be possible? I thought all applications have to be routed through NVC!

They do. The USCIS approving it is the last step in which your petition resides with the Dept. Of Homeland Security. The NVC is in the Dept. of State - as are the consulates. Thus, the NVC assigns the approved petition a new (Dept. of State) case number.

I didn't hear the option about being outside their service times. It just took me to a recording that said my case was pending and that customer service did not have any more up-to-date information. Won't they just say they are still working cases from April 29th, which is what the CSC processing chart is listing?

That must be it - VSC says if its outside of 6 months, CSC if it is earlier than Apr 29th.

It does appear that the two service centers list this differently. CSC's says they have just completed I 129fs that were received before April 29th which we all know is a bit of BS. Unfortunately, it gives them the ability to give you the brick wall answer of 'you're within processing times'. wacko.gif

Once you're outside of the CSC's published wait times (meaning the date changes to a date after your received date), I would definitely contact either your congressman or senator's office and ask them to put in an inquiry on your behalf.

Anyone who isn't outside the published wait time - but seeing those who filed after you getting approved... I completely feel your pain. Same thing happened to us at the petition phase, and it flat out sucks. But I never could find anything that could be done other than contacting your representative after you'd passed their published processing time.

I think what was the worse for me was that meaningless answer ('your case is pending'), when I would have just been happy to know that my case wasn't being used as someone's coaster.

But given the factors of late (missing cases!!? how'd I miss that), I'd be inclined to try what amrssnowangel is suggesting. What could it hurt?

This is pretty common. 'First come, first serve' seems to be a term they like to toss around, but it really doesn't mean anything.
TracyTNFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-11-29 08:58:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsWaiting is the worst.

I am sorry, I haven't posted in a few days....I just read the threads....

But you know what makes me wonder??? Why do always the Vermont people complain about the waiting and start new threads because of that???

You guys go through it within a heartbeat and we (CSC, TSC & NSC filers) have to wait MONTHS before we even get a touch...not talking about the NOA2.

Maybe I am just soooo frustrated, but it's kinda annoying to me!!!

I would love, if Vermont filers would have their own forum, so we others wouldn't have to read about the NOA2's that came by snail mail faster than the NOA1.

It's just not fair, that people who pay the same fee as we others, get such a better treatment!

What did they do, to be with their loved ones quicker than the rest of us?

The system sucks here BIG TIME!!!!!

Diana

Don't mind me...having a bad time lately and just needed to get that off of my chest!

I think you've voiced what many of us feel, Diana, so don't apologize for that.

The only thing I will say is that VSC filers can't help where they live anymore than we can, nor can they help that the VSC is so damn fast.

That said, it is incredibly tough to watch them wonder where the NOA2 is after 2 weeks have gone by. I almost wonder if sub forums for the K1 forum (VSC and CSC) would be a good idea. Although I do remember a time where VJ wasn't as focused on timelines, and who filed what when and where. I suspect the amount of anxiety and ulcers among members was much lower then as well.

I think having the timelines is good for raw data, but as we've found out (first hand myself!), there are ALWAYS exceptions to the rule and those exceptions then start to feel incredibly anxious and stressed out - unnecessarily so, in my opinion. VJ is a small percentage of the overall case load at CSC - but it sure doesn't feel that way when you watch everyone whiz past you - and it certainly doesn't help your frustration when VSCers complain after 2 weeks of no touches.

I've never felt so much that VJ is a blessing and a curse as I felt in the last few weeks. And I think that is unfortunate.
TracyTNFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-03-26 07:33:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsthis is unfair
Our NOA2 took 128 days from CSC.

Remember that the processing times here are, at best, a guesstimate. There are ALWAYS cases that fall outside that norm. I should know.

And yes, I would also consider you a January filer. Its not quite your 'turn' yet anyway.

TracyTNFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-04-07 12:34:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsFebruary Filers CSC, NSC, TSC

I'm not obsessively checking if any January filer has gotten NOA2's but I did notice something that may offer a little ray of hope. Per FWA-guy's page, in Nov there were 83 petitions, in December 77, while in January only 65 filed at CSC(this includes the forwarded ones from NSC and CSC). That means that when the January NOA2's start rolling there will be less of them that CSC has to issue, so we February filers may get our turn quicker than expected?!? Less petitions to process, the quicker they can finish all of them for that month.
Dunno if that helps any of the obsessives out there, but its a little food for thought.
-P

Where did that data come from? Very interesting!

fwaguy normally does a sheet every week showing who filed when and whose gotten NOA2.

And yes, there may be less VJ filers for January, but lets not forget that this site is only a small sample of everyone actually going through CSC.
