There was nothing really unusual about his interview.. It was pretty short. He was asked where my parents lived and if I had any siblings where they lived and what they did for a living. 1 Question did trip him up though. When asked about m parents he told the person my father dies when I was 9 years old but a few minuets later he was asked about my fathers work. He was nervous and answered with what he remembered us talking about m father....

Yes I am also muslim.... We had the tradional Moroccan party and had pictures to prove. We submmited all eveidence requested. Phone records chats emails tax records bank statement cards sent through mail..... Divorce decree.......... airline tickets..... I am here in Morocco now and visited once before for 3 weeks She did not even look at my divorce papers or any of my income info not even my airline ticketsshe just took our pics and emails and chats then asked him to come back on the 3rd and that was when he was given the refusal letter

The only notation along with other was only that the petion and application will be sent back to Homeland Security that was it......... no reason........ no explination...... nothing.......

I think it may be best to just Marry legally while I am here and submit another petition


It sounds like they've put you on AP, which is pretty common. I don't think marrying and starting over is the solution. Your fiance will still have to get through their security checks whether or not you are married to him or merely engaged.

I'm going to move this thread from the K1 process forum to the regional, MENA forum - I know there are a lot of folks there with experience in exactly this circumstance.

My good friend lives in DuPage County - she is so mad about this!!! I wish she'd get called to be on the jury! Drunk driving makes me so angry. I had a falling out back in January with a friend of 20 years when he thought he was ok to drive a few hours after a drink fest. He is no longer a friend, but seeing as he discounted everything I was saying about him being too impaired to drive, I don't consider the loss of his friendship as much of a loss.

It is a bit of a stretch to suggest that someone feels 'abused' by reading posts from others on this board. Depending on the content of course - but I wouldn't think that reading about an abused wife going back to an abusive husband would make a reader feel abused in turn.

Just happened by the thread and had some thoughts about how we could maybe help.

The idea of a pinned topic is a good one - maybe containing some 'real life' stories from those willing to tell it, lists of domestic abuse helplines/help centers and maybe a link to a list of VJers willing to help those in crisis, both broken down by geographical location in the US. Of course you may want to do this in a way to protect the confidential information of all involved, but I'm sure that could be done. I also like Harpa's suggestion of it maybe being in the General forum or something, since as we know, abuse really has no boundaries :( and then maybe localizing it to the regional forums for a bit more detail from 'cultural' perspectives.

It's a tricky situation really, and could be difficult to handle on a busy board like this. Difficult, but not impossible - and certainly worthy of the effort, though.

Hi i'm hopeing someone can help me with a couple of questions :help:

Hubby and I are about to file the I-130 paperwork for myself and my two children, but the question concerns is it worth doing yet, as he is still a LPR. He has had his citizenship interview, which was in October 2005, but is still waiting for his oath.
Do we file now, or would it be best to wait until he has his citizenship paperwork ?
If we do file now, is it possible to upgrade it once his citizenship oath has been taken ?
We do intent to file for the K-3 too, as and when he has his citizenship.

Hope someone can help us out here, many thanks.

My understanding is that he must be a citizen when you file the papers, but then again maybe I am getting the CR1 and K3 confused. (Someone smart come in here and tell us!!).

I hope he can take the oath soon!

I'm not even allowing the negative comments to steal my joy. I got more information on my case than either myself or my lawyer would've obtained by calling. Do you think it's just a coincidence that peoples cases are either approved or receive an RFE after a call from a congressman's office. It means something. I'm not a person to sit back and just wait when they are behind on their estimated time to process a petition, because while you're waiting and hoping, I'm being proactive.

well good news....my congressman representative called me back today and it only took a day and a half :). The supervisor said that the officer working on my case was reassigned cases and that's the cause for delay. They also said that they will turn my case around within the next week or two and that there's nothing to be done on my case and its just waiting final review. Yeahh!!

Hello everyone,
My husband got his two year (conditional) green card about two months ago. Before we got married he borrowed money from me saying that his brother needed an emergency eye surgery and they did not have the money and they will pay me back as soon as he or his brothers can afford to, that dragged into more borrowing. It has been a year now, and no one has made the initiative to give me back at least a sign of good intention to return the money. Since he got here, every-time I did something he did not like, he starts yelling and screaming and telling me what he did to his mom when she behaved the way I did, and that he put his fist through windshield while driving when his dad gave a comment about my husband's driving, and what he did to his former B**** fiancee. he said a man has the right to be depressed and upset and to express his feelings. When I ask him to talk in a nicer way and stop yelling and making threats he says he is not yelling, he is just telling me what he did and that's his tone of voice. Now, he asked my cat "if I kick you slamming against the wall, what would you do?" Are those things considered threats? Thank you for reading all this. There is a lot more, but those are the highlights, what do I need to do? Should i give him the chance to get a visa to the country where brother resides, rather than him getting deported back where he doesn't want to be? There is a lot more to this, he even said he'll work under the table so he won't pay taxes. Dishonesty and exaggeration about who he is and who he knows has been his trait. he said that he can with "his foot he can make calls to frame people" and that "he has a way of making people trust him so they'll tell him personal things that he will use against them to ruin their lives, but he won't do it because he is a good man". what am I dealing with?

Sucks that some people are like this... Hey .. Dont settle for LESS... Husband..? Did he recall the Vows that he made promised to..? Are they being up held? Verbal Abuse is the start of things to come. You can go get council sessions but will that change him for good or would it be a temporaty patch/fix. ONLY you can answer that question as you have been around him. But if that were me... I'd leave and go else where. IT isnt even about someone loosing the ability to "get out of their conditional status" BUT think about your self. IS he worth Saving... think on it and then make the decision ..but always put your self first ALL the time and even worst when the other party doesnt even care about how thir actions will impact you and those around you for example.. you,, child/ren your family/friends and even an innocent CAT.. he has lost it..!
