Nope. Not unless you wait and honeymoon until after the foreign spouse receives travel approval (aka advanced parole).

Well, I'd start by checking on what your particular embassy requires.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAre we missing anything?

My fiance lay in bed worrying about his form last night, wondering if he made any mistakes. He has 3 questions he wanted me to ask on here:

1. For the police report, do they send it to your house, or straight to the Embassy? He sent away for one several weeks ago and there's no sign of it.

2. My fiance got a medical report from his doctor and it was basically just handwritten on letterheaded paper on what injections he had had. Does that sound official enough?

3. My parents are sponsoring my fiance, and filled out an affadavit of support on his behalf and had it notarized -- so my fiance didn't know if he had to include his bank statements as well. Did he???

Hopefully anyone can help. Any answers would greatly put our minds at ease!

1.) The police reports can take 40 days to receive (I assume that is business days). I'm not sure based on your post if his is taking longer than normal (is 'several weeks' two weeks, or more like ten?). I believe they do send the police reports to your home, but I'm sure someone will be along to clarify that one for me.

2.) I'm not sure if you're asking if the vaccination report from his doctor is 'official' enough to spare him getting the shots later, or if you wonder if the medical he received from his doctor will suffice for that part of the visa process.

3.) The beneficiary does not have to provide any information about his/her finances unless they are self sponsoring.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan someone help me with this I-134 confusion

OK, everyone calm down here. Relax. Take a breather.

There is good information here and I thank you all. I'm still confused on a lot of things. How am I to convince my parents to provide my fiance with their ORIGINAL birth certificates, which for all we know can be taken by the HCMC Consulate and never returned or lost?!

What the hell do they need the originals for?

MY original is LONG AGO LOST! I have none. Just a copy. So now what? Will they accept a new one (I can go to the town hall and get one).

I'm ready to have a heart attack. :(

You can order US birth certificates for a nominal fee, usually online (depends on the state, I'm sure). I would venture to say that most people at some point misplaced their 'original' birth certificate, or the 'original' one they have is one issued by the hospital(which often isn't acceptable). Hence the ability to order another one!

This way, your cosponsor could keep their 'original' copy and still send one issued by the state for the interview.

The birth certificates are not a huge issue. Certainly not one to fall to pieces over.

I always thought that the 'number, date and place of issue' part of that form was referring to the naturalization certificate (if citizenship was acquired through naturalization).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFinal decided and application is being filed!:-)

My question is this! Has anyone been in the states (Non US citizen), filed for a K-1, returned home after VWP. then tried to re-enter say 2 weeks later?

It is so 50/50 with the immigration officials. My previous trip before I got interrogated for the 5th time, I walked through customs as if I was taking a stroll on a sunday morning! The guy let me through with no questions at all despite having my record right in front of him.

I firmly believe that you can tell what is going to happen based on what the official looks like. I know some of you will think i am being stupid, but I have predicted my interrogations, all five of them over the past two years without a failure.

If the guy looks like an a*Hole then chances are he is going to be, I wish i could have manouvered myself in the queue so I could target the official i would want to approach.

I am unsure why you'd want to potentially give yourself more grief by leaving and then re-entering 2 weeks later, esp. seeing as you will have a K1 filed soon. I certainly wouldn't want to risk everything based on how an immigration officer 'looks'.

But if someone is IN Georgia, reading about their embassy & the procedure, it would have to be notorized there. Where else could you find a US notory?

I think that's what merc is saying - you don't HAVE to use the notary at the embassy in Georgia. You can use a US notary in your area.

Cam, if your Russian lady friend comes to the US on a work visa with the intent to get married and stay in the US, she is committing visa fraud. I'd venture to say that if this was to occur, and you were an involved party, you'd have one heck of a tough time bringing any more lady friends over from Russia.

And wouldn't that be a shame.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYep It's Me Again

My girl in Russia tells me she is with an agency that can get her a work visa to come to the US. She says she has the money for the ticket and a visa. Is a work visa possible? Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cam

You need to run away from this, as fast as you can... typical scam.. I suggest you do some reading over at www.rwguide.com

She's not asking for money yet.. but she will..

It's virtually impossible for any single woman from russia to get a visa to the USA (unless it's a K1 or k3 fiancee or family based visa). Section 214 sub section b of the INA of 1952 assumes all visa applications are trying to immigrate to america. To get a visa to the USA she'd have to prove why she'd return to Russia. Trust me when I say consulars make this very difficult.

Don't even bother, bly. Cam has been well warned by most everyone here. He apparently wants a Russian sweetie more than anything else.

Depends on what your state requires. For example, in some states, you cannot marry without a SSN or put someone on your bank account without one.
