K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHerpes--waiver?
Found this about health related waivers: "an alien who is determined (in accordance with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of Health and Human Services) to have a communicable disease of public health significance, which shall include infection with the etiologic agent for acquired immune deficiency syndrome."

http://travel.state....ities_1364.html

I don't think that Herpes classifies as a "communicable disease of public health significance". TB, yes, but not Herpes. Or as you said, unless your fiance was planning to colonize the US singlehandedly. ;)

What Lizzy is saying is true - if he's not having an outbreak during the medical, that's fine.

But I think what you're asking, onequestion, is what happens if the blood work reveals it? I don't *think* it would cause any problems but I'd prefer someone to come along here and be able to say for sure.

Oh and, to the title of your thread - your life is not over. As has been mentioned, this is a VERY common STD and most often, people who have it get one outbreak and then never another in their lives (esp. with the meds that are available now). I have a friend who has it and she only ever had the initial outbreak - and she does not take valtrex or anything to keep them at bay. I know it has a 'stimga' associated with it, but when you look at how common it is now, I think that stigma is waning.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ10 on the I-129F

Don't forget to copy the front and back of the long form - even if the back is blank. Just make sure and write what it is (e.g. USC Birth Certificate - back of page, or something to that effect.)

Believe me, I will!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQ10 on the I-129F

I thought that was for naturalization certificate number and if you were a US citizen from birth in the US you didn't have to put anything at all there.

That is correct.

I didn't know that the US had 'long form' and 'short form' certificates, but I bet that depends on the state you were born in. Mine is a certified copy from Iowa and is only one sided. It got me a passport, so that is what I intend to use for the I 129f -- a COPY, of course.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresA question for all of the British / English
I guess you have a point, Wenchie, except that Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom while Ireland is just Ireland. I'm sure those from N. Ireland (becca!) put N. Ireland on their I 129Fs instead of United Kingdom.

I just thought UK because when I pull up the site for the London consulate, it says London, UK.

Doesn't make it 'right', technically, but there you go.

I wasn't sure if it was OK to abbreviate - I figured they would send an RFE for it (wouldn't be beyond the pale) -- I can almost read it now -- 'Please clarify the citizenship of your fiance/e'........!

I'm planning to use 'United Kingdom' (even though it doesn't bloody fit in all the spaces on the fillable forms, LOL).

I suppose if it was soccer related then they might realise that there is no way he could get involved in any activity like that in the USA!.

I dunno for sure how police reports work, but would it show an arrest and then say 'soccer related'? I wouldn't think so.

Good finding, Bailey.

This is the one from that page which gave me concern in this instance:

"Multiple criminal convictions.-Any alien convicted of 2 or more offenses (other than purely political offenses), regardless of whether the conviction was in a single trial or whether the offenses arose from a single scheme of misconduct and regardless of whether the offenses involved moral turpitude, for which the aggregate sentences to confinement 2/ were 5 years or more is inadmissible."

And, btw, not all Englishmen fight at football matches. My fiance doesn't even like football.

For your sake, I hope his drunken fighting days are behind him.

The fiance/e visa can only be petitioned by a US citizen. I believe that is also the case for a K3 (spousal visa).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow should I submit pictures??

I assume xeroxing the foreign fiancee's passport would work just as well as far as passport stamp evidence?

I did that for one of my fiance's visits here (along with two photos). But I documented 3 other visits as well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDoes anyone know whether its possible to supplement b/f RFE
I agree w/ fwaguy - wait until they send you an RFE before you send anything else. There's practically no way to guarantee that what you send in now will ever 'find' your original submission.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiance's birth certificate & I-129F

Hmm... I sent my I-129F about 2 months ago and I did not include my beneficiary's BC. Do you think I will get a RFE because of this? I was never informed of the beneficiary's BC as either an optional or must-have... I just didn't know. I hope I'm still okay. :(

I didn't send my fiance's, either. But I did copy the inside front cover of his passport - sort of to CYA me on this issue ;) but also because I used passport stamps from his trips here as evidence.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDeclaration of how you met in person in the last two years.
Yes, you have had to meet your fiance/e in person within the past 2 years. If the only time you've met was more than 2 years ago, you do not meet the criteria for a K1.

I don't know why that requirement is 'scary'. I'd find it scarier to marry someone I'd not laid eyes on for over two years.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAPPROVED NOA2!

Would someone please clarify this process for me.
I sent my I129F on Oct 20 to TSC. I recieved NOA1 on Oct 24th. Then is was sent to CSC, which I guess is standard procedure.
So why would it take less time for Vermont to process this app then for Texas to process. If it all gets funeled thru the CSC why is there a difference.

Vermont is notoriously FAST. I saw one NOA2 from Vermont a mere two weeks after the petition was even received.

Poor sods like you and me are stuck in Texas/California, so expect a 3 month wait (at least).

Several late September filers received there NOA2's already this week. Hopefully that is a good sign that things are picking up. Hopefully you only have a month to go and Tracy and I only have 2 months....

Right on! :D

Yes, but I generally don't trust the USPS very much - although in this case, it went just fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswas denied entry on my last visit due to sec212(a)(7)(A)(:)(I) shall my fiance include the paperwork on our attachments for the K1visa????

=Thanks for responding, I double checked the I129F form there was no question in particular regarding if ever u've been denied entry into the US.If there was I will definitely answered yes coz' I don't want to commit the same mistake again. But there is none that's why I'm concern if were gonna include the paperwork already or shall I just wait if ever I get interviewed.

Sorry about that - Detty is right, its on the DS 156 form. I knew I had seen it somewhere!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedureswas denied entry on my last visit due to sec212(a)(7)(A)(:)(I) shall my fiance include the paperwork on our attachments for the K1visa????
If I remember correctly, the I 129f asks if you've ever been denied entry into the US. You will have to answer 'yes'. Lying is not something I would recommend, esp. as they'll know anyway.

Denial of entry does not necessarily mean you'll be denied the K1, but lying about denial of entry could.

I would not include the paperwork on the denial of entry unless they ask you for it (I'm sure they already have what they need in the computer anyway), but maybe someone else here will have a different opinion.

Agreed - lots of approved petitions went untouched (or only touched once).

Mine was touched once on 11/27 and nothing since. It'll be just fine with me if I hear nothing else until our approval (probably mid February).
