K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPolice certificate
Here's the link to the form online for the UK police certificate (form 3019B). She'll have to fill it out and mail it in with the fee and proof of identity.

http://www.met.polic...ction/forms.htm

Here's what's on the UK embassy's website about Police certificate requirements. Perhaps it will help.

http://www.usembassy...iv/docs169.html

Police certificates are required for each visa application aged 16 years or older. A separate certificate is required from the police of each country in which the applicant has lived for twelve months or more after the age of 16; the period is six months if country of birth or current nationality. This certificate must state cover the entire period of the applicant's residence in that area or country and state what the appropriate police authorities records show concerning each applicant including all arrests, the reason for the arrest(s), and the disposition of each case of which there is a record. Important Notice: If you are 16 years of age or over and were born in the United Kingdom or the UK is your current nationality you will require a police certificate to cover your period of residence of six months or more since reaching the age of sixteen. The period is twelve months for all other nationalities.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWrong zip code on NOA1
Was the zip code wrong on the envelope that they mailed it in?

I don't see how having them fix a zip code could slow the process down. I'd be inclined to call them.

The good news is that you are dealing with Vermont, so you should get the noa2 like when... three days? (just kidding)

That's about right.

Yeah - I'm not sure if this is relevant to Vermont, but I know that Texas only picks up their mail once a day - quite early in the a.m. (like 5 am). Maybe Vermont is similar?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSignature confirmation...bad idea?
They only pickup their mail once per day (around 5 am). They'll try again tomorrow.

I only did 'delivery confirmation' for mine, but I don't think it matters.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures46% of November cases have NOA2

Excuse me but your being a tad rude, did you not just join? Again we are all waiting for the same thing, some of us closer than others and it is a little nerve racking and tense times, calm down or your not going to make it, all this ranting proves nothing. Differences of opinions and ways of calculating and seeing things will differ, in the end same results.

Umm, there is no difference of opinion. Please learn to discriminate.

And this has nothing to do with me waiting or 'making it'.

When I joined is also irrelevant. What an arrogant comment to make.

None of this changes the information originally posted. And THAT is the point of the thread. At least two of you require excessive hand-holding, and I will leave you to your own devices.

Don't mean to intrude into a K-1 thread but I saw this thread title in the main window and clicked on it. I'm a December (18th) K-3 filer going through CSC and we got our NOA2 Email notice today. Hopefully they'll start kicking out more Nov/Dec filers soon. :)

FWIW, you really shouldn't argue like that in this forum. That's what the Off Topic forum is for. :P ;)

I'm happy for you, man! :D

A few more approvals trickling in today - just means my time has to be coming (sooner rather than later)!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport Photo Specifications

I made the same mistake, how would I send in the new passport photo(i have the negatives, and hopefully a reprint wont be hard to do)? I'de like to send more of the chats on my computer as well.

There's no way to guarantee that the new passport photo or computer chats you sent in would ever 'meet up' with your I 129f file.

Just wait for them to send you an RFE. Or, you may not get one at all and be just fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport Photo Specifications
THIS LINK is from the state dept. about passport photos, but it does mention visas.

Despite garya's rude remark, I have read folks here who have said their fiance's petitions got approved without using the two x two size, but I don't recall the exact circumstances around that (possibly their fiance/e's country did not have places available that did that size?). Perhaps they will happen by this thread and comment.

At any rate, if you could redo them, I personally would. Better safe than sorry - I mean, who knows what will cause an RFE. I'm still sweating an RFE for my fiance's photo because he had a slight shadow under his nose on his picture. Could sail right through, could cost us 3 weeks. Who the hell knows with them?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresbeneficiary birth certificate required for I-129F / K1?
To my knowledge, the beneficiary has to present their birth certificate at interview (which may be consulate specific, though I sort of doubt it).

Most folks have had luck ordering theirs online.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresbeneficiary birth certificate required for I-129F / K1?
http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

Bullet point two at the bottom of that page: "Applicants and Petitioners: Applicants and petitioners must sign their respective applications and petitions. The signature must be an original signature."

A photocopy of a signed form wouldn't be an original signature.

Photocopies can be used for supporting documents, not the documents (I 129f or G325a) themselves.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresIS THERE ANY WAY???
From the bottom of your timeline:

"Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as January 23, 2007*.

If this date has passed by more than 10 days or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline. "

Use the phone number on your NOA1, not the service center.

PUHLEASE TRACY.... Monday night is not a historically busy day for NOA2 notices, they seem to wait until the tail end of the week... How long have you been on this site?

A long time, but I've never really paid attention to when they doled out NOA2s until they started with November filers (last week).

Sorry I offended.

We're all waiting, dude.

The ones that have been approved so far have NOA1 dates in the early part of November.

They'll get to us in turn.

Tracy, We know they will get to us in turn. We are just a happy bunch that see an excuse for having a nice week end safe in the knowlege that after such a busy week at CSC, they are now a lot closer to us.

In other words, "Any excuse to party"

Yeah, I just thought Dustin Nila was saying he expected his imminently (when his NOA1 date is a few weeks past those who have already been approved).

You'll need a passport photo from him as well.

Also, if he was married before, a certified copy of his divorce decree.

Beyond that, the guides are the best. They basically take you step by step through everything.

Damn it, fwaguy, where is your NOA2? And Tracy's, for that matter - I keep sneaking a look at the timelines just in case I've missed something. Not that it helps, but I have my fingers (and everything else) crossed that you both get approved ASAP. Like, NOW!

I need to do something because this wait for my NOA2 is killing me. So I decided to try to make the update process to the data files easier. I think I did it so here it is as of about 7PM CST on 2/15/07

K-1 Timelines

Very good question! And thanks for the fingers crossed, feather! Obviously we need all the luck we can get!

I noticed someone with a 11/8 NOA1 date whose not been approved either, so I guess I can't grouse about too much.

I couldn't open the file either. :(

Next week may be slow for them, but who knows. I remember one week in January that they were really kicking them out (at least as far as VJ posters were concerned). It was either the week of MLK day or the week after. Its as if they want them gone by the end of the month.

seattlegirl, it'd be great if you'd fill in your timeline so we could keep track.

And thanks for the kind words, julezabelle. :) I hope you don't end up being a 'straggler' like us once you've filed. It sucks!!!

Maybe next week will be our week, folks.

Poor Jim - at least my case should pick up speed at the consulate (IF I ever get out of CSC, that is...!).

Look at fwaguy's spreadsheet - talk about randomness! One person on there got their NOA2 in 7 days, while we all still sit here, some at over 100 days. Explain that rationally! (I don't think its possible!)

OOOOOOOOHHHHHHH I can explain that one... I think the member meant VSC but put the wrong service center .... I meant to rip that one off the list....

I will post a new update tomorrow or Sunday... hoping we get some singers tonight or in the morning I just know it wont be me because I havent been touched since 11.27.06 and somehow I got in that same dang box as TracyTN.

Ah, that explains it about the 7 days!

But still - look at the range of dates. No rhyme/reason.

And dude, you know you love being in the same box as me. :D

Try not to let it get to you too much, me_4_musa. Its totally out of our control, not to mention totally random. Its literally down to what 'box' you're in and when it gets pulled.

Aww my buddy Jon. I didn't see this post of devotion until now. I am humbled, my friend. I truly appreciate that, but I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. I hope your touch Tuesday becomes your NOA2.

I, on the other hand, would love to be touched. Is that asking too much? (Apparently!)

Though methinks I should leave TRUE touching to my fiance. ;P (L)

You're right - there have been others who had no touch or email but then got the snail mail (heishe comes to mind) . I thought you had gotten a touch, then a week or two went by and no approval - and then you got the snail mail.

I suppose that could be the case for me, but I think me and my poor friend fwaguy are stuck in the same 'slow' box. :(
