K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresApplication Receipt Number?

I see. Well, I kept the amount of numbers and spaces, etc. the same (i.e., it says ALC(space)#(eight numbers)), I only changed the actual numbers, but it appears to be moot. Hmm, wonder if that's just a rumor then, about being able to register based on the cashed check info.

Michele

Its not a 'rumor'. Many of us found out our case numbers exactly that way. Perhaps they're doing them differently now (or maybe a number or two was inadvertently left off yours).

At any rate, you should have the physical NOA1 soon (there's also no 'norm' for receiving those either). There's not much to see online anyway, unfortunately.

I don't have 'personal experience' with this, but as the consular phase of the process is all about your fiance -- meaning you won't be receiving any correspondance again until AOS phase. By then, you would have already moved so you can just put the new address on the AOS forms.

You may want your fiance to put your new address on the forms he fills out for the consulate - assuming you will know the new address by that time.

We had the same issue. My fiance downloaded the trial version of Adobe professional and found a way to lengthen the fields so we could still type in the info. But I think the easiest workaround is what yassmine suggested.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExactly how honest to be?

I'm pretty sure that blowjobs and handjobs for money are still considered prostitution in the eyes the US Government which would make her technically ineligible for a visa.

Better contact that lawyer.

If it's true that blowjobs and handjobs for money is considered prostitution, then the OP clearly CAN'T list this job.

Jeeez! Buddy, Don't list that ###### on the application and if I were you I would never speak of it again. I would also make sure she knows not to mention it.

Yeah because lying is SUCH a better policy.

Take Yodrak's advice and speak to that attorney.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresANY IDEA

Hello!!!! would like to know how longer we need to wait the petition filed at nebraska and being transfered at california service center but haven't response from CSC,Can someone give an idea how long we need to wait to recieve NOA2....THANKS AND GOD BLESS

You're a November NOA1er (one day before me, in fact!) so I'm guessing it'll be mid February at the earliest before we see an approval.

The bottom of your timeline should give you an 'estimated' date of approval as well.

There are places in the UK that can do US sized passport photos. Snappy Snaps is one of them.

Have him Google it from the UK.

You might as well find some things to occupy your time in the next three months, or the wait will kill you.

I'm not expecting anything until possibly mid February. To sit around and hope for something before that is energy I'm not willing to expend.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresScary Info!

Hey guys,

I've been checking up my case status on the USCIS website for "touch", but as I looked into the Processing Dates for Applications and Petitions, I found out they are working on the cases with receipt notices on July 17th 2006 for I-129F visa. I'm in shock! I mean, from what I heard from many people who got their NOA1 around october 2006, they are getting their NOA2 already, I'm talking about those applications are at CSC, so I really wonder is that info. I saw on the site fake? Or.... I made a mistake???? I thought I would get my NOA2 soon, but now.... I'm a little down coz of that!

https://egov.immigra...nter=California

check the link out guys!!!

Ditto what the others said - and as far as getting your NOA2 'soon'? Well, you will - if you consider about 3 months as 'soon'.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSetting the date!

Nine months is definitely enough time to plan it. We both live in the UK and want to move back to Texas at the same time, so should we start paperwork now for a (tenative) September wedding?

Thanks for the speedy replies! That was great hehe.

Better make that a very tenative September wedding! You *might* get through the entire process in 8 months, but you'll more than likely be cutting it close.

See the 'processing times' link at the top of the page for an estimation on the service center phase. Add another few months to that for processing in London.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSetting the date!
K1/fiance visa route: you have 6 months after he receives the fiance visa before he must use it. Once he arrives, you have 90 days in which to get married. Surely you can plan something in 9 months.

Spousal visa: get married whenever and where ever you wish. Then begin the visa process with him in the UK and you here.

I'm not sure why you'd need a copy of the NOA1. Basically all the form does is tell you what day they received your case and gives your case number (both of which you can get by other means).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 approval question
None of us 'know' for sure when anything is sent (email or snail mail), but I would assume it would be sent shortly after the approval.

That said, some people don't receive an email, or see their case status online change, but find out they are approved when they receive the 'snail mail' approval. Obviously there are still some snags in the system...!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 approval question

You'd think computer systems would do stuff automatically and immediately, as soon as the employee makes the change and swipes the bar code. Oh well never mind. Important thing is it gets done! However I used to check several times during the day then only once at like 5 or 6 PM, then not again - thinking the working day was over. Then I got a touched notice on a Saturday and the RFE notice in my mailbox at 8:16 PM Tuesday. I'm worried about my obsessive-compulsive checking addiction now that I know it could come in at any time at all...

It probably IS done 'automatically and immediately'. What I'm saying is that the actual emailing itself is controlled by a 'job' that runs at night. The only delay is from when it is entered into the system as an approval and when the generated email is actually sent.

The printed NOA2s are probably generated from another batch job, but using the same scanned in data (as what generated the emails).

All of this is a guess on my part anyway, but sort of matches some things we do in my IT dept.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 approval question
I've wondered the same thing. I'm betting its some kind of automated email generation system that sends the emails out at a certain time. Like a 'job' that runs overnight to generate the emails.

Our company does a lot of its financial processing overnight so that system response times aren't slower during business hours.

Just a guess.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 forms sent to embassy
Sounds like a risky venture to me. If it takes them 1-2 months to send the beneficiary packet 3, I don't see how they'd be responsible enough to get one piece of paper down in the mail room, and somehow get it in the same place as your application.

I'd rather have it in my fiance's hands and let him be responsible for it.

My fiance's name is Charles, but everyone calls him 'Chas'. I didn't put Chas as another name used because he never uses it legally - its just a nickname. If your fiance ever used Richard on a legal document, then I'd list it.

I DID list my previously married name, as I had changed it on my SSN, driver's license, etc. before changing back to my maiden name.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Advice Please
If the baby isn't born until September, I'm not sure why you want him here in June. But at any rate, it sounds like you'd be outside the 90 days for VWP, so he would have to apply for a tourist visa.

I'm not sure what kind of luck he'll have with that, though, esp. if they know that the purpose for the visit is to see his pregnant fiance - that will suggest to them that he would have strong immigrant intent and they may deny him. I'm not sure what they would think if you had a pending K1 in the system, either.

I guess all you can do is try!

If I have child support which equals $2898 per year. I also have about $4000 in the bank. When I file the affidavit of support can my child support I owe be subtracted from the money in the bank? Or must the amount be subtracted from my gross income for the year?

Have you ever thought of possibly shelving your immigration ambitions for a while - until you get your life and your finances in better shape to support an immigrant?
