K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about evidence of in person meeting
I would definitely include copies of her passport stamps (as well as the inside front cover of her passport).

I sent photocopies of our boarding passes (and passport stamps of course).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNeed Your Opinion, Pls
No, the OP does not have the K1 visa yet. They are awaiting NOA2 from CSC - look at their timeline.

MM_MS - your fiance can surely visit here. Just be sure he can show substantial ties to home (a letter from employer expecting his return, letter from landlord, return ticket, etc) at the POE and when applying for the tourist visa.

I'm not sure of his chances in obtaining the tourist visa, so maybe pose the question in the regional discussion section of the site.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCover Letter & Package Organization Questions
There is a cover letter example posted on the site. Click on the 'Example forms' link above.

I organized my petition in exactly the order described on the guide. However, the service center will pull it apart and organize it the way they see fit, so it doesn't matter THAT much anyway.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAnother question

BTW, using a "K1 visa attorney" won't change anything in terms of how long your approval takes. In fact, it could take longer since attorneys make mistakes.

Simply read the I-129F instructions:

7. What Documents Do You Need toProve That You Can Legally Marry?

C. If either you or your fiancé(e) were married before, give copies of documents showing that each priormarriage was legally terminated
.

Therefore, your marriage must be legally terminated, according to the laws in your state, before you file.

Hate to break it to you, but Kit Kat is right (including the bit about an attorney).

Well Ill be legally divorced in 2 months, but michigan law says I cannot remarry for 6 months after. If I went to vegas and was married would it be legal?

I'm not sure what part of Kit Kat's post was unclear, but I'll bold the part that seems salient to me.

Nothing changed on my timeline just yet, just updated it the other day.

No, I meant fill in your Visa Journey timeline. For example, you can view mine by clicking on 'my timeline' beneath my username and details.

Go to the main page of the forum. Right under 'Forums search', there is a link which says 'VJ timeline: remember to update your timeline' with a hyperlink.

That is where VJ derives its processing time statistics (in the 'processing times' section at the top of the page).

Not really too much to say really... I have been waiting Since mid January with the Papers it is driving me nuts. We filed in Jan and messed up the first time cos we forgot to send something in.
I am really fed up of waiting,I am guessing you guys all feel the same. There is not much I can do to make the time go by faster :( . Just really unhappy really.

You might come into the new K1 subforum where you can watch and wait along with others who have filed around the same time as you.

Also, please update your timeline so we can have your data in the VJ stats.

Welcome to the board!

Personally, I would be hesitant to take advice from people offline. You'll be better served to get to the correct answer by posting it here.

But support and 'hi how are you doing' type conversations would be great for offline!

Heh whoops - sorry, I missed that.

I'd definitely be inclined to call the cust service number again sometime this week and see if they've 'found' it.

BTW 'fast tracking' at CSC is sort of a contradiction in term. So what - 2 months instead of three or four??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport: Lost and Found, problem?
If you can't lay hands on the original passport, then it is lost - whether its lost in your house our out in town square. So if you say 'no' to has your passport been lost or stolen, then you take your new passport -the one with an indication inside that it is a replacement - to the interview -- doesn't match up with your answer on the form.

Passports get lost all the time - it happens. If you're concerned about answering 'yes', then fwaguy's suggestion makes sense.

Or hey, say 'no' and then hope beyond hope that they don't realize it and think you've lied. Whatever - its your visa journey.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPassport: Lost and Found, problem?

Technically, your SO did not lose her passport not was it stolen. Gathering from your post, she probably MISPLACED her passport and had a new one issued. Since she recovered her passport she probably never lost possesion of the passport. That's my opinion.

Well, the question does ask if it was LOST or stolen. What's the difference between 'lost' or 'misplaced' if she never found the original?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresParents dob's?

My girl is filling out her g325 and her parents were killed when she was a baby and she was raised by her aunt. She has her parents names but neither dob or where they were born, will this cause delay in approval?

I would think the day and place of birth of her parents should be on her Birth Certificate. Or am I wrong?

Depends, I guess, on how each country does their birth certificates. My fiance's includes his parent's full names and even his dad's occupation (!) but not their dates of birth.
TracyTNFemaleUnited Kingdom2007-04-04 12:10:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresParents dob's?
It shouldn't cause any delay. My fiance knew when his dad (now deceased) was born, but neither he nor his mom could remember where he was born. He put 'unknown' for that.

Granted, my NOA2 took 128 days  but I sincerely doubt it was because of 'unknown' on the G325 A.

I followed it step by step and had no problems.

You can always get the forms directly from USCIS' site if you'd prefer to make sure you have the most up to date versions (the link to that site is on the guide).

Again, I'm in the same boat as you on that one. I am going to visit my fiance in just over a week. I plan to take him my I 134 and employer letter at that time (plus all the other documents he'll need from me). His interview likely won't be until the first part of June.

I may error on the side of caution and send a more 'updated' one via Fed Ex - depends on how paranoid I'm starting to feel around then.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresExpired Forms
I am in sort of the same dilemma, but plan to use the 4/30/07 dated I 134 simply because its the most up to date version available to me when I am ready to complete the form.

Also I know the USCIS' website lists the versions of the forms which are still acceptable to use. I assume that they will include the 4/30/07 form in the list of acceptable versions once they've uploaded the more current form.

http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD

I suppose if you're still in doubt, you could contact your consulate as the time comes and ask if the 4/30 form is acceptable.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresserive centers

Funny to watch everyone jumping on Timsdaisy.

If any of you were aware of VJ history, you might find that there are reasons that it might actually be good for the board to have someone who is an attorney state that they are not giving legal advice.

Yeah...which is probably why the VJ Terms of Service were enhanced to specifically address attorneys and any so-called "legal" confusion. Point being, there are less egotistical ways of providing whatever legal disclosure one feels the need to mandate to themselves (and I guess others): i.e. "Required Legal Disclaimer: Under law I must disclose I am an attorney, but I am not offering legal advice." Much more soooooooothing don't you think?

So really, the issue for you is just one of semantics?

the discussion seems to drag on a bit now though..

Eh.

We do tend to do that around here.....

You can get the case number from the back of the canceled check - will probably start with three letters (ours were WAC) followed by 10 digits. Then create an account and monitor your case online.

https://egov.immigra...id=aadx8iBkOZg6

I'd say you'd get the physical NOA1 in a week or two (depending how slow snail mail is).

I dunno - my case was transferred from Texas to California and it didn't take 3 weeks for our check to get cashed. In fact, it took 1 week.

I guess I'd wait till the end of the week and then call the cust service number - see what they suggest. You may have to resend it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan it be done?

What about the folks who sign up here before they've officially started their visa process? There are several folks who fit into that category (I was one of them).

They could at least put the foreign beneficiary's country, though (and what is it with the ones who have 'USA' as the country?).

Tracy,

I thought about that too,

The beneficiaries' country wouldn't be a problem.

As far as the Service Center goes, there could be a pop-up page with an alphabetical list of the states and their associated service center .. or maybe even an autofill option for the service center when the member fills in their home state. Either way would be an easy fix.

Like I said before, it is just a thought ..

CB

That's true on the pop up list. It'd have to be something like that because I'm not sure everyone would know their service center right off, either. (I was here about a week before I bothered to download the I 129f again to read the instructions for that purpose.)

We ought to post this in the Site Discussions forum so that Ewok can see (or we can move this thread there if you'd rather).

Nagishkaw, what I meant about the USA is that I see some people who list the country of their fiance/spouse as USA (dunno why, when it clearly says 'non US fiance/spouse') on their profile.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresG-325 change

The best thing to do as to not confuse anybody is to wait for an RFE if they send one.

Hi,

she is in India, and i don't think there would be a RFE from the USC-- but i don't want to complicate the matter, by say, when her interview takes place, to have something incorrect on her application.

i do understand your point, though.

Rgds

They would send the RFE to the US citizen, regardless of whose G325a the error is on. Its the USC's responsibility to get the information corrected from the overseas fiance/e and resend it to USCIS. They may not even notice it.
