Any news yet for your approval? Makes no sense why or how it would take this long for you when so many others that file after you are getting approved before you, and if something is wrong, then why not send you a RFE within 30 days of applying so you can clear up whatever it is USCIS needs to approve you case. hi zgt its going to be my turn to file next week ,but wanted to say yes I will be VT filler and am already prepared to waite at least 5 month ,
had to waite when we where in I 129f then again with AOS ( even tho AOS wasnt to bad but still way slower then CSC )
i think VT just likes tim hortons since theyr pretty close to canada who knows maybe they take a coffee break there , lol

For some reason I keep getting the "500 Internal Server Error" message when i try to log into the USCIS account.
Anybody know how to fix that, or any setting on my broswer I have to change?

Got an 1 year valid stamp on the passport today from INFO pass appointment; they took the 2 yr GC which is goin to expire on Oct.
Then I went to the Bio office to get a early bio done.

yea, try this; call their CS number and hit *1 to speak to rep tell them ur situation, it has to be more than 30 days so they will handle. Then they ll transfer u; I just request to be sent another one, and they did it for me, I have to wait in the mail couple days to see if I get it.

Hopefully it will come for both us.

When you called, did they asked for case number? Since my main reason why I will call is for the NOA, I don't have case number to provide. Can I just use A# for them to check on my case?

Ok, mine was sent to VSC on the 19th, arrived 20th, check cashed on the 24th, and today I received my Biometrics appointment (notice date, 1st September) for the 25th September.

I'm starting to worry a bit too. We sent our forms in and they were received on 8/24/09 (by the return receipt from USPS) and the check was cashed the same day. I haven't gotten an NOA1 yet. I looked at my check and tried to enter the case number I saw in the USCIS site for a status and it's not coming up. I don't know what's up. I was worried my evidences of bonafide marriage were a little light and I might get an RFE, but we'll see. Hope it arrives soon cause I am wearing out the mailbox checking it every day. smile.gif

Send from Mass. to VSC via Priority USPS; it was delivered next day because the distance is so closed.
Check was cashed out last week, still waiting for the NOA.

Just a questions for those who had experience on the I-751, my mailing address is different than the pernament; will the rest of the notification letters go to mailing address or pernament?

Looks like I am very close to you guys on the date of initial filling.
I am still waiting for EAD and AOS approval.

BTW, I called the 800# and asked the rep today, she stated that AOS could take up to 12 months........
But lots of people on this forum got their PR within less than 4 months; not sure what is going on. (my cases are still at National Benefit Center)

The rep also said my EAD is very close, could have another update within next 3 days; and it's already almost 90 days.

Useful trick to all: when you call the 800 number, press 1 - 2 - 4 - 0, you will get to speak to live person, they are very nice and friendly.

What do EAD and AOS stand for? Thanks for the great trick :)


EAD= Employment Authorization Document = I-765
AOS= Adjustment of staus= I-485

EAD allows you to work while waiting for GC; AOS is the process to get GC (green card) :thumbs:

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCSC - How long does it take?
I just recently sent off my I-751 to the CSC and wanted to know how long people are finding it takes for to get the Receipt.
My card expires on October 21st and the CSC received my I-751 on Sept 4. The check hasn't been cashed yet.
Any info anyone has will be great, thanks.

I recently got my NOA1 on Oct 4th. Does anyone know if the Santa Rosa Office is backed up at all for the Biometrics appointment. I am going on vacation soon and wanted to get my biometrics done before I go, I haven't received the letter yet.

I have the same problem, I sent my I-751 form off Sept 4th and haven't had my check cashed either, I sent it to the California Service Center, it looks like there is a delay everywhere. Let me know how you get on.

Yea I hope everything goes well. He cant pick up the packet because the case is not there yet. I talked to someone there and they said we should be calling them often to check if it arrived and then we can schedule for him to go pick it up. Does anyone know how long it takes for the case to arrive to Cuba. i called them and they said about a month but NVC had told me about 2 weeks. I dont know..

send as much evidence as you can. Pictures with dates on them, copies of airplane tickets, hotels..etc..you can even send an affidavit signed by people that have witnessed your relationship.
Sending a lot of evidence will prevent you from a "Request for Evidence" step and it will save you time. because if you dont send enough they'll ask you for more and that will delay you.

I am confused on what affidavit of support i send the I-864 or the I-134
**Can i just write the information by hand or does it have to be done by computer?

Hey, people in cuba dont know a thing and they listen to what people say too much. You should go by what the website tells you. For the k-1 visa you do the I-864 and bring proof of economic solvency examples are, w-2, recent paystubs, last 2 income tax reports. As far as the affidavit you can either write or type it, of course if typed looks nicer. The form ds157 is not provided to them, i dont know why but my fiance didnt get it, you have to do it. Biggest advice print every single form to have extra just in case. I dont know if you're planning to go to the interview, but it is definitely a great idea. I did, and Im glad I did.. if you have any questions call me at 2392453043. I wont mind helping you out at all. I know how frustrating and confusing this is..

The K3 is not faster....our K3 interview is scheduled but I will change it to a immigrant visa interview when the time comes if we don't have one already (for the original I-130) because all of our paperwork is done, fees paid, etc.

I called Senators and wrote letters but nothing helps...not even having an attorney. The only way this would probably be quicker is if there was a death in the family or some other emergency, then you would have to have proof and it could still take days.

If your love is strong you will survive it just fine...but you have to stay strong.

You can go over and see him anytime you want....Believe me, I know its hard...I have a job and kids and its hard for me too...that's why I haven't gone back since March. We are going crazy missing each other.....but we do the best we can with daily webcam and phone chats.

Study up on the process and get it all perfect to speed up your chances for a faster interview and hopefully a faster visa.

That was what I 1st tried as well.. I am due to give birth in 10days and we wanted my husband to be here for the birth of the baby atleast. We applied for a non-immigrant visa just so he can come and than he could go back, but when they found out that he is married to a US citizen they rejected him, no question's asked. Reason being is because they see he has strong ties here in the states and they know if they give him the visa he'd come and stay. I bet everyone has thought of getting their loved ones here the same way but the immigration officers know that what is really happening is we are trying to avoid the long wait times. I am sorry to disappoint you but most likely they will decline his visa just because hes married to you. Sorry.

It i svery specific and simple.

Once you receive the NOA1 for the I-130:

Assembling the I-129F Package: Checklist
Forms and Documents (follow these assembly instructions. All supporting documents must be in English or be translated as noted here.) 1. Payment as required by USCIS (I-129F petitions for K-3 status filed on/after July 30th 2007 have no fee since the I-130 cost was increased). Use a check so you can track the payment.
2. Cover Letter. Should include a description of what your are petitioning for (K-3 Visa), a table of contents (list everything in the packet). If you need additional room to explain your case, attach a separate sheet (list the attachment on the cover sheet). Make sure to sign and date the cover sheet.
3. Copy of I-130 Transfer Notice (indicating where your underlying I-130 petition was routed to after it was filed at the appropriate Chicago Lockbox).
4. Form I-129F: Petition for Alien Fiance(e). This form may be used to obtain a K-3/K-4 visa for your alien spouse and her or his child. Fill out the form as directed, except assume that "fiancé" or "fiancé(e)" means "spouse." answer Questions B.17 and B.18 by stating "N/A." Note that filing this form is only necessary to facilitate the entry of your spouse and her or his child as a nonimmigrant.
5. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the US Citizen signed and dated
6. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the US Citizen. Write the full name of the US citizen on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <US Citizens Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.
7. G-325A (all four pages) filled out by the foreign fiance(e) signed and dated
8. One passport-type photo (see specification) of the foreign Spouse. Write the full name of the foreign Spouse on the back. Place in a plastic bag and label the bag "Photo of <Foreign Spouses Name>". Attach the bag to a sheet of paper and place behind the corresponding G-325a.
9. Copy of the Birth certificate for the US Citizen (front and back) or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship.
10. Copy of the NOA1 from the I-130
11. A copy of your marriage certificate (If not in English then again get a translation)
12. In regards to Section C Question 2, if applicable provide certified copies of all court and police records showing the charges and dispositions for any specified conviction(s) (in accordance with the IMBRA). See section 9 of the I-129f instructions for more information


Any additional document that you want to add such as relationship proofs (phone bills, joint property and assets) that is all up to you but the checklist listed above covers EVERYTHING.

You shouldnt have any problems with that. Many couples are not religious and do not get married in a church but as long as you are legaly married it should cause you no problem.
