Hey guys,
I just got the NOA1 for the I-130 and I'm preparing the I-129F for my husband. I already read the instructions on what documentation I need to attach with the I-129F but just wanted to comfirm with someone that has gone thru this process before.. Please let me know what else besides the I-129F and the copy of the reciept # I'm sending out. All help is appreciated.

I have been following this forum for quite some time now but I still cant figure out what a "touch" means and what does it actually do for our petitions? I recently filed the I-130 for my husband in Europe, recieved the hard copy and heck was cashed. they let me know that my case has been transfered to VSC and than I sent out the I-129F. I havent heard anythng since, but I'd like to know what a "touch" is just in case if it somes my way wink.gif. BTW Cris and Michael congratulations, I wish you best of luck..

I know this answer will be to a big dissapointment to both you and your husband, but NO. You can go ahead and call to expedite your case but thats not a reason good enaugh for them. I am due with our first baby in 13days and they didnt do anything about it. I even called the embassy in the country my husband is from so they an consider giving himm a visitor visa so he can atleast be here when I am in labor but nothing. I wish you all the luck to you
your husband and your newborn and hopefully it wont take much longer.

Most likely your NOA1 was issued already it's just that USCIS are idiots and even find difficulty in mailing a 8X11 peice of paper... Sooooo with that in mind. Call them and follow the prompts and answer yes to "if its been more than 30days and you still havent recieved your receipt notice". When you finally get a officer on the phone tell her that you sent it 5 weeks ago and havent recieved it. She will pull it up and give you the receipt number. Trust me... i did it.. .and i NEVER recieved my NOA1 for my I129F... to this day still havent recieved it.

Wow it looks like if we complain we get some pity on. I just recieved the NOA1 for the I-129F and just yesterday I complained aout it.

Hey guys,

I sent out my I-130 on 07/16/2008 and I got the I-130 NOA1 on 07/22/2008. I sent out the I-129F with all the supporting documents on 07/30/2008 and nothing yet. Its been more that 2 weeks now and I am worried something was not correct on the paperwork. Any advice? I guess I am just being too inpatient but arent we all unsure.gif BTW my petition is in the VSC..

We sent out our I-130 in mid July and the I-129F at the end of July. Just today I recieved the I-129F NOA1. Be patient, yours is on its way as well.

Send out a copy of the NOA1 from the I-130 and also a copy of the check that you paid the fee with.

That would be my answer too.. After the trip you need to return to Canada I am not sure if they will grant you an entry back to the states with the already existing visa. But still I would recomend you calling USCIS directly with this question.

This is an option for K-3, however you may have to instruct USCIS that you want counselor processing.

Does not matter so much which petition gets approved first, what matters is what visa is ultimately issued.

If the arrive on an immigrant visa no AOS

If they arrive on a K visa then AOS

Hi I just got married here in Naples, FL w/my US citizen wife. HAPPY!!

I am currently on valid F-1 student visa w/Taiwan passport.

My passport is expired in 2006, but the F-1 visa is good until 2009 w/valid I-20.

I was wondering if USICS will care if my Taiwan passport is expired, or they only care my visa?

Because of the mandatory military service requirement in Taiwan, I can't renew my TW passport; I haven been studied here in US 8 years ago in US high school and colleges, all under F-1

My wife and I would like to understand the whole process of adjusting my status.

I read the part in "Guide" page, but still not sure the "flow" of the process.

Hope anyone had similar experience can help me get the big picture.

We are preparing the I-130 & I-485 form, but not sure which one(s) should send out 1st.

Also, my wife had a new business opened only for 6 month; and is self-employeed, we also like to know how to file the I-864 since we both young and never work for big company so not much tax record to show; but we both have very strong financial background in the bank.

We will greatly appreciated if anyone can help/guide us to start the process.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and help me out. It sure helps a lot.
I did not get an email but I called NVC and they said it was sent to Cuba,they also gave me the HAV case # which I need to schedule the interview.They said I should allow some time for the case to arrive to Cuba and then I would be able to schedule the interview.
BUt, this is all so confusing. Someone said I could call and make an appointment for him to pick the packet..
What should I do?

Our case was already transferred to Cuba as of last Tuesday 9/11/12. I already know our case # since I spoke to NVC. But, Im not sure when exactly I can schedule the interview, I have heard and read something about him having to receive the packet with documents checklist. but do I have to wait for him to receive in order to schedule the interview or can I schedule it before? any feedback will be greatly appreciated! I am not an expert but from what I've read, effective January 14, 2013 the "carta blanca" process will become obsolete. After that day any cuban citizen that has a valid visa to enter another country just needs an actualized cuban passport. The Gaceta Oficial #44 published on 10/16/12 (ISSN 0864-0793) provides all the details. I found it (in spanish) when I googled.

Although the Carta Blanca process or Carta de Invitacion process will no longer exist. Here is the "catch", they are limitations on whom can "actualize" their passport. You should note Article 25 that gives the specific reasons A through I why a citizen might not be able to "actualize" his or her passport. This can be found on page 3 of 31 of this official annoucement. Based on this information, there are no easy answers since it all DEPENDS on these qualifiers. I encourage you to read the fine print and obtain your answers for your specific situation.
