So I got a little anxious (even though it's been just a couple of weeks since my interview) and called USCIS to find out if my oath date had been set. I reached an immigration officer who told me another immigration office just put in a request for my oath date this morning! Woohoo!

He said he did not have the exact date yet, because they are waiting for the scheduler to respond to the request. I believe he said that I would receive a letter in the next 30 days. I suspect it will be much sooner than that, any day now, and that he was overestimating to be safe.

The officer was pretty helpful and nice.

Here's what I did to find out my detailed case status:

1. Call USCIS: 1-800-375-5283
2. Press Options 1-2-3 in the phone tree
3. Tell the first operator you reached that you applied for citizenship more than 30 days ago and have not received a notice yet. Don't tell them anything else about your case process
4. The operator will then transfer you to an immigration officer who can look up your case and tell you if an oath date has been set yet or not.

Hi Stella08, I gave all four answers for question 2, I am not sure if I needed to or not, I was a little nervous so I blurted out the whole thing!

I keep on telling myself that its out of my hands and I should be patient but no matter how much I say it, I check this thing ALL the time!!!
You would think going through 4 years of the residency process that I can wait for 6 months! (I hope thats the longest it will be!!!)

Well I had my fingerprinting done today, I had to drive about 1 1/2 hours to the location but it was a beautiful day so it wasn't so much of a problem. I arrived about 1 hour early for the appointment and they took me straight away, I was in and out with 10 minutes. Now its checking the mail every day again for the interview letter.

Hi Everyone,

So I still haven't received anything by mail but I called the USCIS and they told me that I am being processed for a name check and things like that. The rep told me that I should receive a biometrics appointment within 90 days (it looks like I am way behind you all). I am assuming its the office that mine has been sent to, either Miami or Tampa, I am not sure which one I am closer to.
I am not sure why I haven't received my letter but the Rep gave me my case number so now I can check for any updates online.

Has anyone else gone through Tampa or Miami? How long has it taken for you guys?

Well its been 19 days now and not a word on where our application is. No check cashed, no NOA, and track and confirm is the same forward message that has been there since Dec 10.

It is so hard when you have no idea what is happening. I sent my application off on Dec 10th with express mail and it should have gone to the TSC but it got forwarded to Louisville, TX and it got there on Tuesday 16th apparently. I had to call the USPS and speak to a number of different people to find this information out though. the USPS tracking website hasn't been updated since Dec 11th. The lady I spoke to at the USPS center said that as its going through the government the website may take 10 days or so to show the progress. It seems as though all the applications are being forwarded to the National centers now instead of the Services Centers.

Maybe call USPS and see if they can track exactly where it is, if you feel like going through hoops!

Our case was already transferred to Cuba as of last Tuesday 9/11/12. I already know our case # since I spoke to NVC. But, Im not sure when exactly I can schedule the interview, I have heard and read something about him having to receive the packet with documents checklist. but do I have to wait for him to receive in order to schedule the interview or can I schedule it before? any feedback will be greatly appreciated! What I did is called the consulate directly and I asked to speak to an american, all those macedonian jerks wouldent answer anything for me.Just told them the stuation and i asled if they have recieved the case. they asked for my and my husbands name and dob and they gave me info. hope this helps

well its kindda late so im not gonna read everything just wanted to say congrats to everyone that got their approvals / visas while i was gone, and for the rest of us - hang tight we are almost there...

we are now 5 days away from our interview date and im gettng more nervous by the day :\ if everything goes the way we planned me and hubby will be together in exacly 2 weeks. so pray for me guys blush.gif

Talking about taxes, I called IRS yesterday and they confirmed that the best way to file my taxes this year is to mail in a W7 form for my hubby along with a certified copy of his passport biographical pages. So looks like I will be filing MFJ.

NVC update: I finally got through right before going to sleep at 11:55 and my call was answered shortly after midnight by a very nice rep (was surprised since it was so late). She informed me that my AOS and IV bill will be generated together and sent to the lawyer. I was glad to hear they won't be part of a separate process. I am hoping the bill gets sent by tomorrow or end of the week so we can hopefully wrap everything up @ NVC first week of April and get a May interview. And I know I am pushing it but still room for hope wink.gif

I cant count how many times we went thru the application together, he took lots of proof, Chris' birth ceritficate and over 2 albums of photos, joint bank accounts, proof of property. I guess its just natural to be nervous. I mean i dont see a reson to be denied this time but you never know with immigration.

quick question.. I already mailed the petition for the I-130 just wondering do they deduct the $$ from my acount when they recieve the paperwork or when they start working on my application? Reason being is because when I sent out the N-400 for myself 2 years ago the money was deduscted 3 days later not even, and for the I-130 that I sent out over than 2 weeks ago the check has not been voided yet. Just wondering if maype there was a mistake or something missing on the application or do they deduct the money when they start working on my case? Let me know. Thanks

I just got the NOA1 for the I-130 and I'm preparing the I-129F for my husband. I already read the instructions on what documentation I need to attach with the I-129F but just wanted to comfirm with someone that has gone thru this process before..
