Just try to call them back in 4 days or a week. Don't wait for the mail because it takes too long before you receive it. I have experienced that before but we keep trying calling them and finally we get the interview schedule, maybe for now if you get NVC letter showing the MNL case number tell your fiancee to get ready for medical. She is good to go once you have it..

I have been fortunate to have traveled throughout the world and have seen mostly places that have been torn up by war and ugly things in life. I spent 20 years in the military and was not usually sent on holiday. The first time I was in the Philippines was in 1983. Politically it was different in some ways. But the people there have not changed hardly at all. No people of the Philippines do not have many riches as far as material things. But let me tell you they have a richness that is so rare. They are still very rich in spirit. Very Rich is family values and friendship. Very rich is strong work ethic and loyality to there employers. I hope and pray that some day the United States will find its way back to those kinds of Values and move past the gread and love for money and material things. Success in life in the end is not messured by the things we own but by the people we have helped and the lives we have lived. I am so fortunate to have found my way into the Philippines and to of fallen in love with and loved by a perfect sweet kind woman. I too when am ready to retire will live there. So I have to agree that which was written by some of the other posters. Most do come to the United States to work but always end up going home to the Philippines to retire.




I really love what you have said.. that's very inspiring. People in the Philippines is not rich in money and all of those materials things But we are rich in good values which made me so proud as a filipina...

Of all the steps in this visa process, only that cebu seminar giving me a hard time, i regret so much why I had my seminar there. I don't like cebu cfo.

I understand your wife wanting her family in the philippines live a better life. That's the way we are, helping the family but as what you posted here, she is sending them too much she should let her family aware the situation her in the united states especially this time that everybody got lay off at work you two should save save for the emergency.. You never know if you can keep up your job.. It's very scary this time. so she should let her family know about it so they are going to find a way to help themselves..

Yes, Its possible for you to renew it even though its not going to expire too soon. I just did mine and my passport is expiring in 2013, so its going to be in my married name. Goodluck!!

Wow Congrats.... As soon as your fiance got the NVC letter you can go to medical and after 5 days your cased has been forward to USEM you can set up for an interview. Do not wait for appointment letter anymore... Wish you luck.

Some DFA Office require to have a CFO seminar before she get can a passport especially if she put their as fiance visa as her purpose so maybe it's better if she just can check as tourist as her purpose of getting a passport.. She can attend that seminar after she gets the visa or when she's in manila while she is having her medical, the less cost too, she can do it at the same time. I hope this helps..

You're a K-1 beneficiary; hence, you ain't married yet. A CFO seminar is not required for your passport to be issued. good.gif good.gif good.gif

Agree, my fiance just got her passport last month, and didn't need to attend the CFO seminar. Here's a snip form the Philipppine gov web site (gov.ph)
PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR FIRST TIME APPLICANTS

Personal Appearance is required.

Duly accomplished application form.

Birth Certificate (BC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) or Certified True Copy (CTC) of BC issued by the Local Civil Registrar duly authenticated by NSO.

Three (3) colored photos of the applicant taken against a royal blue background. Applicant should be in decent attire with collar. Photo must be of good quality, and must have been taken within the last six (6) months. Photo size: 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Facial image size: Not less than 3 cm. DFA has the right to reject photos that do not comply with specifications and international standards.

Proof of identity / Supporting documents indicating full name, date and place of birth and citizenship

Hi, I think i am the first one who have problems about pictures. We only have 5 pictures of my fiance and really sad to say that pictures was taken the same day and the same hour cause when he's here we didnt take a lot of pictures cause we didnt go out for his safety too i know that sounds weird but that's the truth so i worry that during my interview i don't have pictures of us to show pictures of me and my family. can it be a problem or a possible thing i will get denied.. i worry about it so much now even i know my interview would be next year cause for now we are just waiting for our NOA2... and i am not really sure if he can come back this year cause hes been busy from work lately.. I worry about it so much now and i can't sleep thinking about this.
