This is so USCIS - transferring files from the fastest service center (Texas) to the slowest one (Vermont). wacko.gif

erm, more like vice versa........ have you looked at our loser list lately?

Well, I don't know about Texas, but Vermont is currently doing March 1, 2007 -
that's 7-8 months processing time for your average I-751 (10 months officially).

Unfortunately, based on realistic timelines of people on this site, the dates on the USCIS website mean nothing... I don't even bother checking the dates - unless you want a quick giggle... whistling.gif laughing.gif wink.gif

Spiderette - The dates that I have on my timeline are the dates that we got email notices, but his gc actually says that it expires on April 28, so we are going by the gc date. Thanks for checking that though!

From what I can tell your window opens on Feb 9th, I would wait until then to send it in.

What does everyone else think?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionCommon filing mistakes?
I filed too early and I sent the wrong form/fee. (this was sometime in August and I think the rates just changed in June/July)

Anyhow, make sure you don't file a day earlier then you supposed to, because it takes about 3 weeks for them to return your application to you (and they will) and then another week to get your entire packet of documents back.

But who would guess that they would require 12 months bank statements?

And, isn't your bank balances confidential information?

Anyway, we are moving on it right away...

I don't think anything is considered off-limits to immigration... they could pretty much ask for anything and we would be required to send it mad.gif sad but true

Good luck to you... and I agree with the above, keep your head up, gather the info and hopefully your app will be approved shortly after they receive everything.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionBiometric app..received! this is so fast!
QUOTE (James @ Feb 1 2008, 11:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
All of that early stuff happens fast. After the biometrics are done, you wait and wait and wait and wait. That's when you realize, hey, this really isn't so fast. And VSC had been meeting the service goal target of six months from NOA1, but now 4 months worth of old TSC petitions were just dumped in their lap. (Not to mention that new TSC petitions filed since December are being transfered to VSC.) That means any VSC filer who hasn't been approved yet (people who have VSC NOA1s from this past August through the present) are looking at a good ten months plus until approval. That is, unless VSC has been working at less than full speed or has hired more people who have now gotten up to speed.

Ya, the same happened with me after being transfered to CSC... everything moved along, I had my biometrics within 45 days of applying.... and here I am, 3 months later... still waiting... unsure.gif

Hi everyone
Just logged on here and Looking for anyone out there that's in the same boat as me!
Filed my I-751 on Sept 07, recived by them on the 15th Oct 07, Done the biometrics on the 14th November and my case is at the CSC.
Does anyone have any idea on how much longer I have to go? I'm hearing that the CSC is supposed to be quick in these things and I have March as hopefully my approval timeline!

Mine is very similar to yours. My NOA is dated 9/18 and biometrics on 11/8 and still waiting.

Yes it is Texas Service Center! They have always been pretty fast to me! There is one thing think people forget to include in their application. When you first receive a greencard, there is this receipt that comes with it that says use it for faster service (something like that) a lot of people do not inclde it in their application

Cheers kicking.gif

That is very interesting!! I did not know that otherwise I would have included mine. Anyhow, congratulations to you!!! Very fast indeed!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionImportant Mailer
Interesting, I hope more people respond... I wonder if this is really the key to a fast approval at CSC?
I didn't send mine in, but we moved between getting my 1st GC and applying for the I-751 so I didn't want to confuse the process with 2 different addresses (old address on card and new address on application).

I mailed mine in with a letter asking if it can be included with my supporting evidence (with a copy of my NOA1 and Biometrics note) will see if this helps or hurts my case in anyway... but since a few people are being approved now who applied months after me, I figured I have to try something reading.gif
Will let you know what happens and if my case is touched when they received it (hopefully sometime today)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionImportant Mailer
So someone mentioned a few days ago that they included the I-797D card with their application. This card is a tear-off on the paper we got when we received our original green-card.
It says " Use this section to speed your application for an extension or replacement card"

I didn't mail this with my application, it doesn't appear to be a requirement though. Did you mail yours in with your application?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion 7 on I-751
I don't know the correct answer to this, but I know they don't require a copy of your passport for this application. (correct me if I'm wrong) I didn't include a copy of my passport.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionQuestion 7 on I-751
If it was not for a traffic offense, you should definitely say yes. The county has records of all arrests, whether you were later charged or not.
Say yes, and add all your supporting documentation to show you were not charged with the crime. In the section where the notes are, explain what happened. Why you were arrested and the date, then the date of your court appearance, or whatever happened next.

The part that confuses you is asking whether you have committed a crime, but you were not arrested for it.

Basically they are asking if you have ever been arrested, and if you've ever committed a crime

What about those of us who don't want to file for citizenship? My son is a dual citizen of the US and South Africa. @winterpassing, interesting...! I have no confidence in their "services". whistling.gif
I see you are also in Chicago. I was just at the Chicago office with an Infopass appointment, to inquire about my case (you and I have about the same timeline). The lady just read off the screen what I have been reading for one year now..." the petition was received on 2/2/07 and we will notify you once a decision has been made...". Well, that was NO news to me. She did not know anything further.
I was also told that Chicago only gives 60 days extension at a time. I will be travelling in April (I'll be gone on the day my ext.expires) and was asked to come back right before my trip so I could get the most out of my 60 days extension stamp. Then I'd have to return every 60 days for more, until the case is decided. Sounds great, doesn't it! cool.gif
Good luck with everything!

And that's what frustrates me the most... people say "what's the big deal about waiting to get approved, you're with your loved one" well, when they don't approve us we have to go through the inconvenience of getting stamps, showing employees extension letters etc.
I'm also traveling in April, and I need a visa to go to France since I'm from South Africa... and I can tell already the SA & French consulate is not going to be excited about me having some letter showing I'm legitimately here.
We paid good money for this petition and we should be approved in a time fashion! ranting33va.gif

My boss asks me at least once a week if I've received my GC and I've told him about the letter and showed it to him, but he is not familiar with it, and I know he too will be more comfortable knowing I have the actual card.

Honestly, what do the dates on their site mean?? We know that those dates are not accurate. i once heard those dates are the date of the absolute last application they are processing, but that's not true either, since people have NOA's predating those.

California says to be processing applications received July 19, 2007, but we all know that date is #######, because people who applied in November and December are being approved.

Anyhow, I've always said they can stop wasting their time on posting those...
