IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI have a Question Please ??
Our k1 was returned to USCIS back in 2008 as well. The application later expired before it was reviewed. We got married in mths later & filed CR1. 9 mths later CR1 visa was granted, my hubby joined me here.
Remember to take loads of pictures with urself & ur wife also with you & her with friends & family while she is there. It may be a good idea to submit letters of supports fr friends & fam when you are submitting the I130 application.

Best of luck!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDenials, etc.
QUOTE (littleasianman7 @ Mar 5 2008, 08:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hey everyone,

Just out of curiosity, are denials of a K-1 Visa common? What are some of the reasons, or rather most common reasons for denials? I'm wth my fiancee in Thailand right now, have been here two months, and are going back home soon and it's about that time where she starts to get really sad/worries about the visa/misses me so I just want to be able to post this and get some feedback so she can read it and feel a little better. Also, does anyone know how difficult the interview part is with the US embassy in BKK? I know theres a thread for Thailand but EVERY TIME I try to use it it says Im not a user and when I try to register (EVEN THOUGH I AM A MEMBER( it says registration is closed.
I know we won't have problems about proof of relationship because I've spent 9 out of the last 12 months here in Thailand with her haha.
Thanks a lot guys

She certainly should not worry about denial until that happens. Many people are successful with their K1 petitions. Remind her to think positive & such will happen. My heart goes out to her though. Best of luck to both of you!

Show her the many success stories posted here each day. Remind her to be positive & such shall happen! Best of luck to both of you!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDo I need to hire a lawyer for the K-1 process
QUOTE (Mr Bill @ Mar 12 2008, 12:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I am pretty far along with the preparation of my I-129 form. I WAS previously trying to find a lawyer, but now I am pretty confident that I will be ready to file soon without a lawyer's help.

Am I being foolish by not hiring a lawyer? Will I need a lawyer anyway to complete the other phases of the process?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPregnant and Filing K1
Michelle,

Welcome to VJ!
To get your fiance` here, you must file ASAP!
You might want to get your congress ppl involve, due to your pregancy,
they may be able to push for a faster interview date for your man.
But of course the necessary paperwork must be filed by you!

Good luck & congratulations,
Maleena

Thank you all for the responses. I guess I assumed hiring someone else to put everything together for me would save me time but didn't consider the fact that I would be providing everything to them which is going to take time from me, it just makes sense to do it myself.

Its just the thought of gathering all the information and paperwork .. wacko.gif
I guess its because I have to deal with forms and tons of paperwork for my clients and then having to go home and then having to go home and doing it for myself was getting to me and then being pregnant, I'm tired all the time! all I want to do is sleep when I get home but I will pull myself together and do this for my SO and my baby on the way. I probably will be on here al ot asking for helpsmilie.gif

Good decision to do this yourself and save some money. Welcome to VJ.

I agree! I also feel that learning the visa process and submitting the forms yourself can give you a least a tiny bit of control over it all. It may seem as though it would be comforting to think "the lawyer is handling it all", but in truth, it can cause even more stress. Doing it yourself you KNOW what you did, when you did it.

Now take that money you would have given to a lawyer and spend or invest it for the baby!! smile.gif

QUOTE (mommy2B @ Feb 15 2008, 10:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum. I just have a few questions.

1) I know timelines are not always predictable but can anyone give me an estimate: I'm pregnant and would like to apply for my fiancee so that he may be here when I give birth, due date is in October. What are the chances he'll be here by then or soon after if I file ASAP? PS: He is in Jamaica and I am in NY.

2) I am an attorney and I'm capable of filling out the forms myself but simply do not have the time right now.. I'm swamped but I know the forms need to go out soon. How reliable are some of these sites that offer services to take care of the process, especifically I was considering http://www.fianceevisas.net/
anybody use them?

Thanks in advance!

Michelle
