K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	NO NOA2	Congressman, congressman, congressman. On 23 Nov 11 I called the hotline and I was told 15 days. On 7 Dec 11 I called the hotline and they put me through to a very rude Immigration Officer who spoke over me and then hung up. I live close to my congressman so I went to his office and filed a complaint. On 8 Dec 11 At 12:30 pm I received an email from USCIS re: my 23 Nov 11 Complaint stating I should have a response in 60 Days. On 9 Dec 11, the next day, I got notice that the NOA2 was approved. Given the date and time of the 8 Dec 11 email I assume my congressman had everything to do with it. I can truly attest to that congressman inquiry! worked for me and so did for others...i saw ppl that got their noa2 the same day as the congressman inquired about their case! do it make the trip and I hope its worth it for you ....if nothing becomes of it they try back in 5 days!!! Same they told us when we tried to call they said call back at the 5th month but still nothing... i don't discourage you but hopefully you'll get your NOA2. Me and my Fiance just hoping here to get our 2nd notice soon before January its so frustrating!! Hang in there and try you local congressman's office as you can see from my timelines and otherss advice ^^^ it was a good shot for us....can be for u too June filer here. I have been in touch with my local congressman since mid November...they told me that my case is with an adjudicating officer, on their desk for them to process. This was last week, Wednesday. Had an appointment to meet with a local immigration officer this morning in Irving, Texas. Appointment was scheduled at 9:30 AM, arrived 5 mins before, checked in, they gave me a slip of paper with a number on it and said to wait til my number was called. 30 mins go by, 45 mins go by, 1 hour goes by, still, nothing! The people who came in with me at 9:30 AM had already met with an immigration officer and left! ####### finally I got up and asked someone when I could speak to an officer about my case and they said wait, someone will be with you. I told the it's been over an hour now...they said to get BACK IN LINE to see if my number was in the system. I was thinking to myself you gotta be f-ing kidding me. So I get back in line and then someone calls my number. Finally sat down with an immigration officer and right when she opened her mouth she was very rude and had an attitude. She told me the same thing I already knew, that my case was with an officer at VSC. That's it. Then she told me to email VSC, I told them I already have. She said email them again, I said I already have, no response to any of them. She said that is all she can tell me. I had to bite my tongue from saying some harsh words to her. Man o man was I pissed off. So hopefully tomorrow I can call up my congressman and they can do something cuz I'm leaving Saturday for a month to visit my fiance for the Holidays and would love LOVE to give her some type of news! This process is just a nightmare. So terrible. Hate it. vinaysedey! i was going to msg u today, got a bit caught up n it slipped my mind....did you do the congressman inquiry!!!??? What to do guys? we tried calling and says wait a month wuaaahhhh!!! I can attest to the congressional office inquiry. IT WORKS just look up ur local congressional office and go in and sign the affidavit to allow them to get info on ur case n they call the center tht your petition is at.the person that did mines did it one month over the 5 month mark and she said the lady located the file n we should get something in 5 days...the next day we were approved. I LITERALLY JUST RECEIVED A TEXT NOTIFICATION FROM USCIS, WENT AND CHECKED AND TUH DAHHHH MY NOA2 HAS BEEN SENT AND WE ARE APPROVED AND MOVING TO THE NEXT STEP IN THIS SUPER FUN PROCESS!!! THERE REALLY IS A SANTA LMAO! hhahaa "there really is a santa" and he came all the way from the uscis north pole for uuuuuuu congrats! all the best in ur journey! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	AWAITING K-1 NOA2	Got my NOA1 ON August 15, 2011 and now await the NOA2. 2 Months 3 weeks 5 days and counting. I saw from reading the forums that if you filed in the summer like July then you could get an NOA2 in like a month. I guess the holiday times are gonna be slow. Gonna be a long winter I guess. Oh my you're in good processing time...and case is "DIFFERENT" arghhh wich it was first come first serve thou....but such is life hey a long cold winter VERYYY COLDDD well hopefully dotn have to spend it all cold....get some warmin up to the end of it or some *cross fingers* It's not 5 months atm...They changed it.They're currently processing March 15 filers.And we are waiting past 5 months already.Well to be exact, 170 days.Ten more days and we are gonna hit our 6th month.But yeh nothing to do but to wait. Oh gheee we're 1 day apart in applying.... what are they doing with our stuff?! grr its like some asswhip worker that took up our pile had a horrible divorce and wants to spite us lol *far off theory* nvm Me just a bit upset and anxious as you are. buttt we're in it togetherrrrr GOOD LUCK!! Everyone's case is different and so are the adjudicators who approve these cases. As of October, VSC has been trending towards 7 months for NOA2 approvals now. Prior to that VSC was approving much more quickly, (less than 5 months) but again, each case is different. Have patience and spend the time gathering everything for your next steps. Best of luck to you both! Agreeed....they are said to be at a 5.6 months processing time.... thats about what? 5 months 18 days. lets all just tie a knot when we feel like we're at tha end of the rope!! We are nearly at our 6 month mark (Nov 18) and are still waiting for our NOA2 from VSC. Be prepared to wait a long time, but hopefully you will be approved soon. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Congressman	I tried my congressman office when I was 6 months and 3 weeks into waiting. congressman aid was able to expedite my case at vsc and I was approved the next day after expedite. Trueeeeee! There isn't anything they can do. They can make an inquiry, the same as you can. There is no way to push them harder. All you can do is wait. how do you know your approval was down to contacting your congressman and not just because USCIS would of approved it on that day anyway?? cdneh and Dan & Jenni there were numerous of VJers that saw their case approved the same or very next day after the congressman's office inquired about it.....i was given the advice that if i didnt hear back within 5 days they would try back....i think getting approved is more than a coincidence. I am not directly dealing with him, mainly with his main lady that works in the local Plano office. I hand wrote and faxed in a letter to them November 17. I always contact the office via phone. She is usually very polite and always calls them (VSC) to get updates for me. I called this morning at 8:45 AM and she told me to call back this afternoon. Just called, she was unavailable. Gonna call her back in a few hours before their office closes. okay, yea didnt think you were talking to him directly ....okay...it soon come Wish u nothing but the best! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Congressman	I've been reading that contacting your local congressman to help process your case or move it along quicker is a sure thing, but how come in my situation it hasn't helped at all? I have been in contact with my local congressman since November 17 and it has almost been a full month, and still I am sitting in the same position. How can I push them harder? What can I do differently? Is my local congressman really doing their job? Just really frustrated and down right now... HEy Vinaysedey, it looks like you're over a month with 4 days more to spare. The friend i had at the congressman's office said if you do not hear back anything after 5 days exactly after your 5 month mark you can try again.looks like tomorrow is your 5 day mark give it another shot on Friday if you dont hear back....I hope u do! I was so anxious to open this topic, just saw "congressman" and thought you got approved!...but hang in there....you kno i truly know your pain and kno what its like to sit and watch others get approved ahead of me (though i genuinely am happy for them ) All the best and just try (& im sure u are) to be really polite to the person at the congressman's office!.... Oh and just of out curiosity, who is your congressman? and secondly did you write the congressman online or actually contacted the local office and went in to give permission to look into the hold up? For some of us it was done over SKYPE. Others I'm sure were just alone. BUT... We are starting a new year and it is up to make it what we want. Sure this process puts a severe damper on things but hey.. let's make it awesome. We are at day 253. We have no idea when that illusive NOA2 will be granted to us. Jan 25th is the date.... I just emailed the consulate and they replied: "This confirms that the forms were received and an appointment has been scheduled for January 25, 2012. The appointment letter is attached." Im sweating in all places lol Going to book my flight tonight!!!! unfortunately im not sure I can come back with him.....still havent found an apt yet but now i'll look vigorously WOahhhh that was super fast! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Finally got NOA2 - 9 months!	It wasn't going well with the 9 month wait, so I did as someone else suggested and contacted the office of my congresswoman today. I was forwarded to a very nice lady who understood everything and knew what to do. She emailed me a privacy form PDF to fill out, scan and email back to her, which I did right away. Late this afternoon, the online status updated to "approved". (See, there really wasn't anything "time consuming" that needed to be done... it is just a matter of someone at VSC actually bothering to process it. Probably took them 5 minutes.) So, now what? In the extra months of waiting, I've lost track of all the details of what needs to be done. I can handle the affidavit of support stuff just fine. There's something about getting a number from NVC or something? This is "someone" replying; Now me going thru that long wait, like i told my fiance im happy we did because i was able to help so many others.... IM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUUUUU!!!! i really dont understand how they could just pull the file out when they get the congressman's inquiries but in many cases it does happen. Like I said to you in your 8.5 months wait post my community liaison from the congressman's office said that lady literally pulled the file as she was on the phone with them. I wouldnt change the time period that i got my NOA 2 for anything and helping you makes it all worth while the wait. ALL THE BEST TO YOU AND I SINCERELY MEAN THAT!!!! As you can see looks like my process is at an overall "regular" time from NOA1 to interview date.....weird how everything sped up from my approval....
