Try applying to department stores, right now there is a great demand for seasonal workers which could at least give you something temporary with a reference. Are you close to any airport? In airports you can find jobs in: food service, maintenance, and baggage handlers. Such jobs most likely will do a background check even if you have not worked in the USA. Would I still have the interview? When my husband arrived here I made sure he got acquainted with his surroundings. He signed up for ESL classes which helped him meet other people who were new immigrants as well. Once he received his EAD he felt confident enough to look for a job on his own and succeeded fast. There were some bumps along the way but we managed. We now look back and laugh! Middle East and North Africa	What airline did you use to fly your husband/fiance/relative to the USA?	We always fly with Royal Air Maroc, not the best but they fly non-stop to JFK. We've never had any issues with them. @Etrangais I usually use RAM myself. Like you said, gets the job done. So perhaps early 2012 you could expect a interview should your petition go smoothly. Whenever I call I get the runaround and am told I can only ask questions via email and when I do that I get very vauge answers :0/ They will never give a "private meeting". Your case already returned and USCIS let it expire? You'll have to address the possible issues with your next petition. I'm going to take a chance and send the certificates in without translation. honestly, I think they have seen enough of them to realize wether they are real and clear or not.... yes,it still says on the websites that all documents need to be translated but they changed that.in fact,i wanted to make sure and call nvc 3 times same evening )) and all three people told me the same.so we sent all documents(original and copies)on hubby's native language...he just finished his interview 2 days ago and got his visa they told me-this is new thing that you don't need to translate.so as i said,when i asked she was like-good thing you asked me because,new thing is you don't need to translate as long as interview is in native country (they understand language)and i beleive in nvc they have people who do too So go ahead and send documents as they are!or call them up and ask yourself That's a great news, Kevin! I sent all my translations to USCIS without making copies........ 2 months ago I was sending my husbands documents to NVC and they told me 3 times,NOT TO TRANSLATE ANYTHING as long as his interview is in his native country...even when I asked her,she said-oh good thing you asked,we recently changed this,so you don't have to do translations!! So we just sent originals(and copies)in his country languages...Now as far as sending marriage/birth cert.to start the proces,they do have to be INTERNATIONAL or translated BUT FOR NVC-NO! Still waiting for NOA2.By the way,my service center is VSC,I guess the slowest one. I found many useful informations in this forum,so first of all i want to thank all of the users. Okay,as i said i'm waiting for my NOA2,while i wait i want to gather all the necessary information that can help me in next steps.I have few questions,please don't feel bored reading them or answering them. 1)I864-125% of the poverty line,which will be around $18000,my current annual income is less than that.it's 16k.but i made above the poverty line last 3 yrs.so,my question is as i'm $2000 short on that.i have to do the ratio 3 to 1(spouse)? for example-$2000 multiplies by 3?is that the money i'm supposed to have in my bank?just to let you know i have about 20k in my saving account.will i be fine? or i have to get joint sponsor? 2)Can i prepare DS 230 form before i get my NOA2 and let my wife sign it and mailed it to me.Then,i hold on to it until NVC ask for it?She just signs part 1 on that,right?
