IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor
Dont worry about it, as long as your father makes more than the poverty level (see Form I-864P ), he can sponsor your husband.

You will need to fill Form I-864 for yourself, and your father will need to fill out Form I-864A .

It's fine if your unable to provide tax papers for the last three years, since your only required to include a copy of your most recent tax form and pay stub as evidence. Including the last three years is recommended, but dont worry it wont negatively impact you if your unable to include them all.

This is a quote from Form I-864A instructions:

"You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income

tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to

maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns

for the three most recent years."

"You may include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income for the current year if you believe

that submitting this evidence will help you establish ability to maintain sufficient income. You are not

required to submit this evidence, however, unless specifically instructed to do so by a Government

official. For example, you may include a recent letter from your employer, showing your employer's address

and telephone number, and indicating your annual salary. You may also provide pay stub(s) showing your income

for the previous six months. If your claimed income includes alimony, child support, dividend or interest

income, or income from any other source, you may also include evidence of ability to maintain that income."

This is the website where you can find all this information: http://travel.state..../info_3197.html

I hope this helps and good luck on your case.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresImmunisations for UK citizen applying for CR-1

Hey all, I appreciate your time looking through this for me,

I have looked around for an answer to my question but I feel I need some first hand clarification.

I've seen the various immunisations I will need before my medical appointment.

According to my records I have had the following immunisations between 1990 and 2004 (they are chronological):

1st Polio, 1st Triple DIP/PERT/TET, 2nd Polio, 2nd Triple DIP/PERT/TET, 3rd Polio, 3rd Trip DIP/PERT/TET, 1st Measles/Mumps/Rubella (MMR), Single HIB, Measles/Rubella Campaign (MRC), Pre-school Polio Booster, Pre-school DIP/TET Booster, 1st BCG, Meningitis C, School-leavers DIP/TET/Polio

My concern is that I don't seem to have any Hepatitis shots. I understand that some may be age (I am in early-mid 20s) appropriate but can anyone confirm if I am missing any?

Many thanks!!

Just know that he survived before he knew you. There are many without jobs in Morocco and they still survive. Consider the welfare of your child and yourself first. Seek counseling if you can, it will be the best investment. He's probably on to his next victim since he's not getting money from you

MM

Just curious, have you met your fiance in person yet? I see you are moving to Morocco in December and getting married. Perhaps you should live with him first and get to know each other before even filing? Casablanca is one of the toughest consulates. Being that you only know your fiance since March and plan on getting married and filing on the 1st visit could be a red flag to them.

Middle East and North AfricaInfo received today from DOS re: K1 returns

Hi everyone, I wanted to share info I received from the department of state today.

Our K1 was denied on Oct 20. I was informed the case was returned via diplomatic pouch on 10-22. I have not been able to "track" the diplomatic pouch. When I call the number and ask for the where abouts the man there tells me there is no pouch with that number in the system. So today I call dept of state and "sara" there tells me that they do not have our case yet. She had the same diplomatic pouch number I have. I asked her why it cannot be tracked and according to her, it can take 8-12 weeks for the pouch to arrive. It has been 8 weeks for ours. She also told me that immigration WOULD NOT be reviewing our case. She said immigration is NO LONGER reviewing K1 files that are returned. WWWWHHHHHHAAAATTTTT!!!!!!???????So, no more NOID for K1? She said only reviewing marriage visas that are returned. Has any one else been given this info? Would love to hear what you all think.

It took about 3 months for our first k1 to return and was never reviewed (that was 2006). Some cases have been reviewed but it's not common to get a NOID. Recently Alwaysandforever(Monica where are you?) received a NOID and it's on its way back to Casa. Perhaps Monica will chime in here.

Thank you for explaining what happened in your circumstance. I know with the wait times being so long everyone is saying "keep your self busy" others talk about projects they started...but for me, I am reading up on everything and anything that could possibly delay our application or in the very worst case senerio be denied. I wish I could focus on just relaxing and letting this whole process work that way it is suppose to. Our relationship is completely real, we love each other, we cant wait to start our lives together, and the proof is there, and still I worry about everything. Ugh..kind of frustrating for me

By the way Happy 1 year from 2nd interview anniversary!!

Sure, you're welcome :) and thank you.

May I ask why you waited so long to re-apply? Was there a time frame you had to wait and seen if they reviewed the case. I am happy you finally got your approval and things are well for you.

I was told by my Senators, Congressman, Immigration Liaison and other Politicians that our case would definitely be reviewed within 18 months of return, I even spoke to a adjudicator at the Vermont Service Center one day by luck and was told that our case was close to being reviewed(that was already 20 months). Our case was never reviewed, at least that I know of. By the 2nd year my husband(fiance then) had enrolled in a program at a vocational school which would take 1 year to complete so we figured on waiting another year which I then filed the 2nd petition. Within that time I had added in a few more visits to Morocco(8 trips) so there was no way they could deny us again

Today is actually the 1 year anniversary from our 2nd interview :)

My husband and I have a 15 year difference(he is younger)which was one of our red flags at our first k1 interview which got sent back to the states. At the 2nd interview (3 years later) the age issue was still brought up but the consulate could not deny us again on age. The past few months at Casablanca I have seen some couples that were very close in age get denied.

What ever road you take with this young man be sure that there's going to be a road detour.

Whether it be K1 or CR1 there are going to be obstacles.

First it will be at least 6 to 12 months to get a interview once you file. If denied you're looking at another year or two...If approved (highly doubt this)your looking at AP time.

By the time he ever gets here your already in your 40's. Are you emotionally/physically ready to raise him?

Middle East and North Africanewbie in the group

I finally got an answer from the consulate, it wasn't the issue of age. I believe that's because it is against our US laws to discriminate based on age. They will find another reason if they want to. Our reason was my 9 day stay...not long enough for them to think we wanted to get married. But the months before and after talking daily for hours didn't give us a clue, I guess.
I sincerely believe they were going to use that excuse until they were blue in the face. So, we were doomed even before the interview. In my opinion, it's not right to have your decision made before the interview. Or if that is the case, why take someone's hard earned money and waste both the interviewer's and the interviewee's time? That is my biggest problem with it all.

Most likely the age is one of the issues but they will not put that in black and white. Are there other possible issues? Have you been married before, any kids, culture, religion, did you stay with his family, does he have any family in the USA......go over each question that was asked at the interview. You'll need to address the issues at the next interview and next filing.

What bothers me, is that you ladies all (if I'm not mistaken) have your husbands here now, and you sit on this forum throwing out negative after negative, after negative, putting doubt in people's minds. Are you trying to help? In what way? To have all the women reading this thread doubting their husband/fiance? . I already see one woman doubting her fiance this morning just from reading your posts. I can see giving out advice about the process, and how to prepare, what to look for, etc........but constantly talking about the downfalls of marriages and how most of them don't work, and be prepared, and on and on and on.......I'm not sure how this is helping anyone. No one reading this is likely going to leave their relationships, all it's doing is putting doubt or worry in some people's minds.

Middle East and North AfricaAbuse of power in the American Consulate

I am an American, my husband Moroccan. He was refused a visa a couple of weeks ago. The state dept official who interviewed him is the SAME woman on the you tube video under American Consulate Casablanca. It's also posted on this site. I was praying he would get her, she seemed so nice on the video. Well she isn't. She was rude,
abusive and depersonalized him. Horribly unprofessional. She told him "it's not real, you're doing this for papers". Disgusting that some low rent state dept official tries to
exercise power over people's lives. I have complained from Obama on down to everyone imaginable. Wafin.com has also posted our story. I've always loved my country but now I'm wondering.....what the heck are they doing???? I know so far this consulate has 33 or 34 complaints sitting in some senators office. I told my senators I want her job. And I want an apology as well for treating my wonderful husband like a cockroach.

Middle East and North AfricaQuestions about CR-1/IR-1 Visa

Over the last 6 months I have been trying to document as much as I can, for the things I need for this visa. I am finaly to the point I am trying to put this together, and now I have questions.

1. Do I have to have copies of my husbands passport?
2. I have not had my passport with my changed name yet. I have only traveled on the old one. So do I need to get my new one and have it copied too before sending in the petition?
3. I did not have a wedding party after we got married, as i was leaving the same day. The 2nd time going back I did not either, because it was after all the protesting and it was just more difficult with all the fighting between the religions and family just being cautious. So do I just do a written statement to explain this and have it notirized???
4. Do I need to send in birth certificates of my children or only children we have together?
5. Has any one sent in a list of realitives here in the states with address and phone numbers, this was in a RFE I seen. If you have why is it important?

Any help is greatly apperciated. Thanks
Nora

Did his/your family not accept your marriage because of religion? If so you might want to address this with your petition.
