Just_friend-
Thanks for your congrats. Keep your eyes on the updates. Mine still showed ERROR(s) the night before, but I had this belief that everyday is a brand new day and can be the day that the approval comes. And it did. The next day morning, I woke up thinking: "here we come (error message) again..." and it appeared that it was APPROVED!!! No touches, nothing at all prior to the notice. Be encouraged!!!

Do you mean the 1-800 number? For the USCIS Customer Service, you can call (800) 375 – 5283 or 1-800-767-1833 (TTY). I hope that helps.

Good that the race is still on, because I want to win!!! I start to think that maybe we missed a RFE and we do not know about it because we cannot check our status online. That will certainly screw up the whole thing....Come, NOA2 please come soon.... Seriously, how's everybody that is still waiting coping at the moment?

Hey girl Congratulations..
now one more step n you will be with ur love..well best wishes.

Just wnted to ask those who have been calling NVC , my fiance has been calling them for the last 3 days n first noone was answering it n then it is continuously busy ...have you guys faced this problem as well? if you email them do they send a reply ..please help me in this...and also only the petitioner can call and get info from NVC or i can also call being the beneficiary?

Congrats to all those who r getting approved..

My fiance, the petitioner, called a couple of times and got nothing. So he made an appointment with the local office in New York and ended up speaking to a real person face to face. The representative lady was kind enough to check up our case status on her computer. It says "PENDING," which has not been the cast until this morning. It always says "ERROR" whenever we try to check it online ourselves. Then the lady suggested my finace write a letter to the USCIS inquiring the approval of our NOA2. So he did and we are here just waiting...again.

I am not 100% (only 95%) sure, but from what I have been reading, the police record is one of the items on the list for package 4. Although they MAY or may NOT ask you for it during the interview, I know I cannot be too prepared if I have it. And since I have studied and worked in the States for 7 years, I will need a clearence from FBI and that takes a while. That's why.

As for the birth certificate, I think that is also one of the things required for any foreign fiance. Somebody, please correct me if I am misinformed.

Hello, everyone~

I hope you all are doing very well during the waiting. For some reason, I have a really good feeling that many of us will SOON be hearing from VSC for the second time-the NOA2!!! That is why I am getting an early start in preparing the package 3 and 4. I just submitted a request to FBI for the police record, which will take up to 6 weeks. Other documents, e.g. birth certificate, the original and the translated one, my fiance putting together his part, like his w-2 records for the past 3 years, other financial statements, letter of employment. He works for the Board of Education so it can take him forever to get what he asks for from the "system." Anyway, I am just wondering: is anyone else doing the same thing, or it's just me?

By the way, I went to the hospital where I was born this afternoon and applied for a copy of my birth certificate. I was told anything before 1980 was no longer tracable (I was born in 1976), which means they do not have any information regarding my birth and thus will not be able to issue the certificate. What should I do? ....

Only the USC has to add the birth certificate right?
I was thinking about starting already too with getting stuff together because it looks like vermont is going faster!
Also about the police record i thought that if the embassy wanted it they request it themselves by the police? maybe im wrong...thought we didnt have to care about the police record as long as they didnt ask for it.

I haven't been too worried about it since we've already received our NOA1 however I've noticed that December k1 filers are able to check theirs?? unsure.gif

Yes, we are still getting the error message too! I check everyday 2 -3 times a day and have called and get the same error message. I have not even gotten a hard copy of the NOA1. Understanding that since I am working overseas at the moment there is the slight possibility it has not been
forwarded to me yet. I called and talked to a customer service representative and they were of NO help at all. Told me I would have to wait at least 6 months before I could request them to check on the status. We are very frustrated with this whole system and it is just getting started.

Looking through so many threads I figured that something is missing in your paperwork we sent in this month!!!! I think it´s Number 18 on the Form I-129F, it says did you meet within the past 2 years - so we just made our cross for yes cause we´ve seen each other already three times this year, so we added boarding passes, pictures, flight iteneraries!! But like it seems we totally didn´t see the part of describe under what circumstances you met! So what should we do...just wait or write a short letter of circumstances and just send it to VSC????? Please help cause I don´t want our paperwork to be delayed when they finally start working on it!!!!

I do not have the answer for you, but I wish and pray that they will somehow overlook that part and no RFE will ever come to you : ) .

Hey Greg,

Sitting in the airport in Bogota as we speak, heading back to L.A. We sent in the paperwork to the embassy in Colombia on Friday, so they should have on Monday (16th) and then we will probably get an appointment in May- what's the latest with you?

Joe

P.S. Continued luck to all........

Hi Joe,

Thanks!

Now on the the next step.

I received a letter from NVC notifying me that they have received the approved I-129F.

How did you find out the date NVC sent your package to the embassy and when the embassy received it? I checked out the DHL tracking method described on this site, but not sure how I know if my petition is actually in the DHL package sent to the embassy.

Hope you had a great trip to see your fiancee. Are you back home now?

Greg

Hey Greg,

This is how i did it:

1. Once your I-129F is approved (NOA2), your case will be forwarded to the National Visa Center.
2. Start calling NVC everyday about 2 days after your I-129F has been approved at: 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5. You will need to reach a live person to get information on your case since the NVC’s automated system does not handle K1 visas.
Give this person your NOA1 receipt #, they will let you know if your package has been received. Once NVC receives your case, they will assign a new case # Make sure you get the new case # and write it down.

A. If it has not been received.
Keep calling every few days until they receive it. Don’t pay attention
to their script. They will tell you it may take 4 weeks for them to receive your case. It does not usually take that long. Sometimes it only takes a few days.

B. If your case has been received.
Ask them if it has been forwarded to the embassy. If your case has not been forwarded, wait a day and then call again. NVC does not usually hold the cases more than a few days.

3. After NVC sends your package to the embassy it should arrive in approximately 3 business days via DHL. Your package will also be sent electronically to the embassy but it needs to physically arrive before the embassy takes action.

4. When you estimate that your package has arrived at the embassy call DOS at 202-663-1225 x1, x0 to confirm. You will need your new case number.

That is how i tracked it- give that a try! I am back home in So Cal now...

Joe

(messed up on my last post)
Hi Joe,
Thank you for the useful information. I will be doing exactly what you said tomorrow just to track our case. My question is: even if I have not yet got the HARD COPY of the NOA2, can I still call NVC to find out? Our case was approved last Friday.

Joe

P.S. Continued luck to all........

Hi Joe,

Thanks!

Now on the the next step.

I received a letter from NVC notifying me that they have received the approved I-129F.

Hi Joe,
Thank you fot the useful information. I will be doing exactly what you said tomorrow just to track our case. My question is: even if I have not yet got the HARD COPY of the NOA2, can I still call NVC to find out? Our case was approved last Friday.

Joe

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresK1 supporting documents: How to print Skype call log?
QUOTE (Stinky Monkey @ Oct 31 2008, 07:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I would not stress to much about it
When you apply for the K1 the only thing you have to prove is having met in the last 2 years
We just sent in a few pics, copies of our passports and flight e-tickets
All the call logs e-mails etc we are saving for the interview for proving the on going relationship

Good Luck with your Journey

First of all, thank you for your advice. I have another question about the passport. I know that we need to make copies of ALL PAGES of the passport. Does that include the blank pages? Also, the front and back covers? It sounds that we are losing our mind in this process >_<.... Just want to make sure.

My fiance and I are finalizing our application package, and want to include the Skype call log (free downloading; we use daily taking via the webcam) as something that proves the on-going relationship. I can see all our previous conversations when I click on the "History" section from the Skype window, but find no way to print out the record. Does anyone know how to??? Thanks.

It would be better if you printscreen your chat. If you are using cam in skype, it can be capture too. I forgot in desktop, but if you are using laptop, press button "PrtSc", then open ms word, paste it. Thats it. It's more real time.

good.gif I got it, and was amazed how much my laptop can do happy.gif. Thank you!

I did a screen shot at my skype history and it works. But during my interview the consul never look at my printed chats, emails, handwritten letters and my skype call history. She just peek some of my pictures and that's it. But I do advise you to print them out, it's better to have many evidences than lacking. Good luck and God bless.

How did you take the shot? Did you use a didtal camera, or one of the functions the Skype has that I do not know of? Thanks so much!

We know that we are to check "Naturalization", not "born in US" and not "parents" either. But about the question that comes after (right under the choice "Parents") "Have you obtained a certificate of certificate in your name?" we are not sure.... So, we'd like to ask you: for someone who got his/her citizenship through natiralization, the answer to this question should be "YES" or "NO"? Thanks.

The answer should be "yes" and then you give your Naturalization Certificat number. If lost or unknown, so state.

That was fast!!! We thought so too, but someone asked the same question before, and someone gave the "NO" as the answer. That's why we want to make sure before we mail out the package tomorrow.

Answers must always be truthful. Why would you consider answering no when you know the truthful answer is yes?

You truely are a wise man happy.gif.

Actually you should make the check payable to U S Department of Homeland Security - as always the devil is in the detail. smile.gif

Good luck with your journey.

I'm sure it will be fine either way but from the I-129F instructions...

Pay by check or money order in the exact amount. Makethe check or money order payable to the Department of Homeland Security.

So, bite me.

Oh, Noooo.... The last thing we did last night before we mailed out our package is go to the USCIS website and make sure that the fee for filing K1 is $455. Then we made the check payable to "U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services," because it says on the website that "Fees should be made payable to Department of Homeland Security or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services." We should have referred to the I-129F instruction again.... I hope that we are going to be okay....

how about a house phone?

Too expensive, and also bad quality.

I do not know which state you live in, but when I was in New York, lots of communities where immigrants gather, e.g. Chinatown, you would find tons of places selling calling cards. Store owners will tell you which card works the best (lower rate, good quality) as long as you can tell them which country/which province of China you want to make calls to. From my 7 years staying in the States with the constant need to call my family on the other end of the world, I tried a few and settled on a card called "Korea No. 1." This card gives me 1000 minutes, almost 10 something hours for 8 dollars. And the connection quality has always been great! Unless you call during holidays, like Chinese New Year, when you know everyone will be calling home, then you will have a longer waiting time to get through. Other than that, I think it's the best way to call. I have yet to tried the paid internet direct dial.... My fiance is also using those cards to call me now.

By the way, Kevin and Leilei, we both are November filers! I know you are from the thread you created *_^.

Also give me some ideas as what should i do after i getout from the airport and see her again.. i dont know what will i do when i see her.. :-) kicking.gif

Bring flowers..., which might not be possible. I do not remember I've seen any airport with florists. That would be just as nice if you spend some time to pick up a gift for her before you travel.

I show my fiance the new moves I learn from my weekly salsa class every Saturday. Then we'd dance to each other via Skype. It's a lot of fun! Some of you should try it sometime. He once danced with a teddy bear pretending it was me : ). It was hilarious rofl.gif to watch.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures...denied

I've been thinking about this as I was driving this afternoon.

This situation should be a good lesson to all of us.

I see everyday on this board people saying 'you don't need an attorney'. I've been guilty of saying the same myself but I got smart a while back and quit dispensing that advice.

I mentioned earlier that Summer just recently posted about hardship letters. When I had seen that post I was alarmed - even though she's not a frequent poster I knew they had filed some time back and that the process must be nearing fruition. I then noted in her timeline that his interview was imminent. My immediate reaction was 'are they prepared to go to interview as fully as they probably need to be?"

We never know what the personal stories of people are. It's flip and irresponsible to say "you don't need an attorney". Maybe if Summer had been here more often she might have read some things that would have triggered more research on her part. She and her husband might have sought legal help.

Or she might have listened to those who carelessly said "you don't need an attorney". Personally, it's a phrase I don't use anymore.

The thing is: she needs to tell us why he was banned and the reasons that the embassy provided to her husband for the ban. something must have gone wrong seriously bad, or god forbid, her husband wasn't able to fulfil the visa requirements mentioned in a travel.gov site i saw last night but can't remember exactly right now. Of course it would be great if she reveals a thing or two about it to us and not to mention doing so will help me a newbie a lot too.

Again, I seriously don't want an incident similar to this to happen to even my arch enemy, if there is any.
