ThailandSole custody of child

Sole custody of child

Looking for information on fiancé obtaining sole custody of her son.

The father of child is on the birth certificate.

They were never married.

Would like to find out how to do this.

Checked into a lawyer in Thailand they want $100,000 Baht ($3,257 US) to do this.

Has anybody done this? If so any help would be appreciated.

Thank You
Bob33065

Unfortunately, you can expect the father to ask for money to do this.

There are companies in Thailand that performs assassinations for cheap :)

IMBRA Special Topicsfbi name check
I wouldn't worry about that. So apparently you were arrested for it but not prosecuted. Definitely not convicted of anything. This is really nothing.

Whe you go to an ordinary FBI name check and nothing raises their concern, it stops there with no further checks. If something like a felony comes up, the they keep digging in other databases.

And how do you know your mj arrest was even an arrest? Did they tell you that you were under arrest? And if your were arrested, what's the disposition? Decline prosecution? And how do you know anything was entered in any other databases?

IMBRA Special Topicsfbi name check
When they actually get around to picking up your file and doing your name check, it takes only seconds to return pages upon pages of your most personal information. Your name is ran through several databases.

Now when you say possession of marijuana...several facts will affect you. the primary concern is the weight.

1. How much marijuana? MJ possession can vary between a minor administrative code violation, to higher felony charge.

2. Who busted/ adjudicated you? The Military? Civil Law enforcement? UCMJ conviction is different than a civil conviction. Usually UCMJ records will not come up in a routine FBI name check, they'd have to be looking for it to find it.

In the end, if you had a small bag of weed...welcome to America lol. It's nothing to worry about.

USCIS Service CentersMSC Reciept Number
I had a MSC receipt #

My wife's I-130 was processed there, it was because she filed concurrent I-485. Our case moved lightening quick as a result. Good Luck !

I love the Superbowl; it kicks azz. For the last 2 years, I've gone down to London for NFL UK's official bash (which was ace) but I'm staying in Brum for this one. Picked up some tickets today for the bash at the Sports Cafe (only £4 - bargain) and let's face it, where else is gonna be open at 4am on a Sunday!!! kicking.gif

United KingdomCourt Records
To get a simple court record, you can use civilrecords.org. But this will cost $.

To get an official record, go to the originating court for each particular case.

Hi! I'm Jay and my fiancee is Thi, we are new visa journey members! kicking.gif I have been lurking and reading for awhile now and just want to say thank you for this great site! We are also at Packet 3 stage with some of the others on here and have a question about the DS-230 form.

It says, In what occupation do you intend to work in the United States. blink.gif Thi doesn't officially work, although she takes care of animals on her families ranch - on the G-325 we put occupation: Rancher - because we didn't know what else to say. We have no idea what job (if any) she will work in the U.S. I don't know if intending to work as a "rancher" in the U.S. is going to fly! wacko.gif

How did you guys handle this question? star_smile.gif
Thanks!!

Welcome to VJ and goodluck in your journey. I'm fairly new here myself and I'm quite nosy......

If she plans on being your housewife for now, then the term "domestic engineer, domestic admistrator/coordinator" comes to mind. In fact, that pretty much sums up what she does in Vietname also. Goodluck.

Asia: East and PacificChinese New Year's Eve
On this Chinese New Years Eve. I wish a joyous "reunion dinner" to all my extended family here of this heritage. Some of you (Like my wife Tiffany) find yourselves far away from home in your new setting. And we make the best of our new footings here. Your home is in your heart. And I'm sure you can summon to your mind the heartwarming yesteryears that you've spent at home with your loved ones. I'm certain that we'll all find our own way to rejoice. Have a wonderful New Year. And........

Asia: East and PacificMalaysia birth certificate translation

There are two types of Malaysian birth certs, the old one and new one. The old one is not bilingual the new one is. If I have the new one, do I still need to get it translated?

Does that mean that anyone who is fluent in both languages can do the translation provided that they are fluent in both Malay and English?

I'm interested to know this well.. :)

In my wife's case, during the entire process, i130 to n400, the affidavit from someone fluent in both languages was good enough. Her BC was in Malay only.

In the case where there is English on the BC, no translation is necessary.

I hope I'm of help.

Good luck to you.

Asia: East and PacificMalaysia birth certificate translation

Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can get a certified English translation of my Malaysian birth certificate in the Petaling Jaya/Kuala Lumpur area? Any help is much appreciated!

In my wife's case. I just found a friend who knows both languages. She wrote a letter (Identifying herself) attached it to the document stating that she is fluent in both the Malay and English languages. Then she translated a copy of the birth cert. with lines pointing to the captions to the best of her abilities. And it was accepted as supporting documents. Good Luck.

Asia: East and PacificThe Malaysian VJ Thread

Well, after a surprise that they wanted 2011 W-2's along with 2011 tax return receipts, my wife's visa was approved, and in time for her to return to the US with me. Guess I'll be reporting back on time after all

You know, I tried contacting the Ambassador once before. No response. I emailed him, sent him a message to his Twitter account, and to his Facebook page. Nothing. Guess he was to busy handing out checks to the save the Malaysian Tiger foundation...

As for the Embassy. I NEVER recieved the appointment package they supposedly mailed to us at our home, IN MALAYSIA... :bonk: One of the few times that the Consular responded to any of my emails was to send us a scanned copy of the letter they supposedly mailed so that we could get the medical exam done, and for entry for the actual appointment. I wonder what other documents were included in that IV 4 package... oh well.

They certainly need training for proper grammer and email etiquette in responses. It looked like a student emailing a friend.

Glad it's finally over though. I hope I never have to go inside the KL Embassy again for any visa issues...

Hey-hey congratulations !! I'm happy for you guys.

I understand that the postal service in Malaysia suck eggs. So the package might have gotten lost (May be even out of spite).

But in the end, you guys are on your way. Have a safe trip back to the states.

as for the ambassador, who knows what this person is busy doing....you think with all the slave labor he has over there, he could at least stroke you with a return email....
