In the CR1 step by step guide on here, it says you will receive a "Of 230" is this s typo and it should be a DS-230 ?
Once the DS-230 is filled in is this taken to the embassy at Interview or mailed back to the NVC beforehand ?

Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfused by question 21 on the I 864..
Question again re this topic.
My wife's sister is co sponsoring me, re question 21 again on household size, if she enters 1 in the amount of people she is sponsoring(me) and then 1 (herself) not sponsored in her affidavit then the household size become two even though i wont be living there! again, i know its obvious but im missing it:)is this jecause technically as she is co sponsoring me she is responsible for me and my dwelling ?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresConfused by question 21 on the I 864..
My wife will be my sponsor and her sister (not living in the same household) will be my co sponsor.

For my wife's I864, on question 21 under "household size", she puts 1 (being me) in the box for sub question a, and 1 (being her) in the box on sub question b, however in sub question box c it says to put 1 if you are currently married (which she is, to me), this then adds up to 3 at the bottom where it says household size ! surely it should add up to 2 ? or am i missing something really obvious ?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 25 on I 864..
Just a quick question regarding tax transcripts, which is the correct thing to order on the website ? there's a choice of the two below

Tax Return Transcript
A tax return transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules. It does not reflect any changes you, your representative, or the IRS made after the return was filed. In many cases, a return transcript will meet the requirements of lending institutions such as those offering mortgages and for applying for student loans.

Tax Account Transcript
A tax account transcript shows any payments and any later adjustments either you or the IRS made after the tax return was filed. This transcript shows basic data, including marital status, type of return filed, adjusted gross income and taxable income.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 25 on I 864..

Unfortunately, no, that is NOT correct. After 4/15/2013, the most recent tax year will be 2012. You file your 2012 tax return in 2013. For 2012, you include a copy of the complete tax return or a tax return transcript. For "current income" you include pay stub and/or employer letter. Only if self employed will your current income come from line 22 of the most recent tax return. Tax returns are always filed in arrears.

The answer was incorrect.

Are you saying Nick Nick's answer not correct then ? when i said "That's great, answers everything i need to know:)" in reply to Nick Nick you then said "The answer was incorrect!" From reading nick Nicks posts and replies im pretty sure its correct

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 25 on I 864..
When it says most recent tax year does that mean most recent completed tax year or the current one ?

If its the current one then I'm presuming if we file the I864 after April 15th this year then the answer to question 25 will be entered as below:

2013 (most recent)

2012 (2nd most recent)

2011 (3rd most recent)

We of course will be able to file tax transcripts for 2011 and 2012 and then produce pay slips and letter from employer which will relate to the current tax year which will be 2013?

And if we were to file before April 15th (which i don't think we will be doing) it will be:

2012 (most recent)

2011 (2nd most recent)

2010 (3rd most recent)

With pay slips and letter from employer relating towards 2012 ?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNVC forms question

What if I filled them out again, signed them, and faxed or scanned them to email instead of snail mail? Would NVC accept that, or would it be too obvious that they were "copies"?

They will have to have original hand written signatures on the papers that you send to the NVC.

Strange you should as that as Ive just gone over both my forms this afternoon and changed all the entries to caps!!

I didn't want to risk it as it clearly says it should be caps in the first sentence on the information sheet for theI-864, see link below:

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJust double checking my info before i send in my I-130
I'm about to go home to the UK in 2 days after visiting my wife for a week, i was "let in" without any problems.
I had a copy of my apartment lease, a copy of my NOA1 and a letter from work, i wasnt asked for anything. Im over here a LOT, 14 times in the last two years so was a little worried.
In 2 days time when I've exited i'm guessing it will be slightly easier if there's any problems to explain that i wont be overstaying, as they'll be able to see my entry and exit while the CR1 was ongoing. Im coming back in 3 weeks time for a week so i guess we'll see.

As far as I'm aware the CBP don't have any details on their screens at your point of entry so don't actually know you have an ongoing CR1 so each entry should be like any other normal entry, be honest, truthful and don't worry.

It would be nice to know if anyone does have a link to any CBP site or any legal statement where it says you are still allowed to visit, arguing and telling a CBP guy he's wrong isnt really something i ever want to do!

Because you're using Adobe reader which is exactly that, a reader. You have to have the full Adobe software or a PDF editing program, Foxit is one alternative.

I(as many others have) used paper clips,no need to go and buy ACCO things, just use paperclips, ACCO fasteners are a lot more hassle for the person to disassemble your papers than paperclips!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Application - Not sure which relatives to include

So, why are you asking? List them. The I-130 is a petition, not an application. Listing them only provided information. There's a later question asking if you're filing a petition for anybody else. USCIS will know by the dates of birth that these "children" are not eligible as your step children for immigration purposes.

I wasnt asking, i am not the OP!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Application - Not sure which relatives to include

Concept to remember is that these questions are just questions, so answer them accurately. You list yourself as your alien relative's spouse and then list all their children no matter their age or immigrant intent.

But they are no longer Children which is what it asks for .

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresVSC or CSC or TSC? if i send I-130 from Newyork Residence, which service center does it gets directed to?

It took 2 months for my case to show up online. After that I signed up online for notifications. The original G1145 only applies to the NOA1. If you can never sign up online then you'll be notified by the paper NOA2. :)

Excellent, thanks, im guessing it would show up online if i were able to see it at least a week or so earlier before the paper would arrive yeh ?

Just as a side topic to this. How does one get notified of the NOA2?
I saw on the guides and the USCIS website that once your case number shows up you add the Pet' and Ben's e mail address, obviously if it doesn't show up it cant be added.
We filed a G1145 and got an text and e mail for the NOA1 so they will use those same details for the NOA2?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHaving US Citizen baby can effect processing time ???

I ment processing time of I 130 for alien relative of USC, on that application USC should have to show how relatively close you are with him, so I thought if you together have a kid, it can proves somehow that your marriage is real and without any hesitation they can approve yr case faster not searching deep, omg this waiting is killing me so alot of thoughts in my mind just that option gives me tiny hope inside

Just get on with your life as normal, don't build any hopes up and that way you wont be disappointed! Just forget about it all and carry on with daily life.

Make sure you read the instructions form that go alongside the I-130, it tells you what to do.

Anything that you are unable to print N/A in the box just write it in by hand afterwards.
