United KingdomCR-1 interview date, keep or re-schedule ?

On the London Embassy website it does say:

Appointments will be changed only for urgent reasons. A request to reschedule an appointment must be stated in writing and forwarded to the address above. Please note that a visa is usually valid for travel to the United States for six months from the date of issuance"

So can i do the online form to re schedule or should i write in ?

United KingdomCR-1 interview date, keep or re-schedule ?

Cool, if that's the case them i will book a flight from US to UK on 26th and then from UK back to US for POE around mid Jan. I was expecting interview date to be anywhere between mid dec to mid jan so i guess i was right in the middle, kinda wishing i did o the medical before i left for the US at the end of Oct, ah well, i have a date so cant complain:)

Just wish i had an idea of when date would be if i re sheduled

+1 on Darnell's ticket calculation suggestion. Maybe save yourself a few quid and make the interview! Nice.

Oops on date. See you were planning that already. Call Knightsbridge first thing Monday and check appointment availability, too? Just in case that's backlogged...

Medical takes 4 working days to arrive (lots of bank holidays around then). If your results aren't there, they can't approve you on the day, but they should do when they arrive assuming no other outstanding issues.

Oh! so i could still attend Embassy and they would go through the interview and motions and hold on to my passport until medical arrives and providing no issues with medical they would just then approve, stamp and mail passport ?

United KingdomCR-1 interview date, keep or re-schedule ?

Ugh, i cant do the medical the 28th unless they do them Saturdays! will have to call Knightsbridge on Monday i guess

30th (monday) would be first weekday for medical, wonder if Embassy would get medical forms by Thursday 2nd, bearing in mind they will be closed Wednesday!

United KingdomCR-1 interview date, keep or re-schedule ?

Yeh i'd looked at that, i wouldn't get any monies back from the current return leg, the main thing would be i would NOT want to fly back to the UK  before Christmas, so if i flew back the 26th Dec i'd arrive home the 27th and would have to do the medical the 28th at the earliest! but with new years day i was wondering if my medical forms would get to the Embassy by the 2nd ? or  what date i would get if i re-sheduled ?

United KingdomCR-1 interview date, keep or re-schedule ?

So i'm in the US at the moment, due back to the UK on the 9th Jan. Just got my interview e mail from NVC to say my interview in London is the 2nd Jan at 8am !

Do i pay the $400 to change fee to change my flight, fly home the 26th Dec, get the medical done the 27 then the interview and fly back with my visa mid Jan or apply to the Embassy to reschedule ?

Im just worried about how far away the interview date will be if i re schedule!

United KingdomBest way to shift my stuff

The company is a shipping consolidator, that's why they can do cheap prices, i shipped two electric guitars in one box, box was massive! and wasn't even £120, its worth pricing them up.

Five x 80cm x 60cm x 35cm suitcases shipped as is with 25kg in each is £385 (£77 each!)

Isnt £120 a bag very expensive when you can ship the same weight  for £46 a box in 2 days?

United KingdomBest way to shift my stuff

I shipped boxes over, 2 day service by UPS through this company, they were fantastic. I shipped 12 cardboard boxes filled with clothes, CD's, DVD's, books, tools etc i just filled the online customs form for each box and put on " house contents, relocating" not one was stopped, inspected or charged for. They pick up from your house abd even called the day after to make sure everything went smoothly. FUll online tracking for each box and boxes were there in 2 days!

£52 a box, goes down the more you send, mine were £46 a box as i sent a few at a time. You can send a 18" x18" x18" box upto 20kg for that price!

United KingdomPost-medical at Knightsbridge... now what?

Hi,

My partner tried calling the DOS this morning as our status changed on Tuesday. However they said they couldn't give us information about it and that we had to call London????

Anyone else had this problem?

You are calling the DOS and not the NVC yes ?

SSN number arrived in the mail yesterday, exactly 2 weeks since i got here:)

I'm fortunate that i have got my car insurance, bank account and a few others things with USAA, amazing service but you have to have  a military family along the line.

Question, do US banks have a similar thing to what we call Direct Debits and Standing Orders ?

It's 15k extra for premium cabins, Economy stays the same i believe.

55k will get you business one way Europe to North America today, you'll need more tomorrow! i think business is only up 2500k, youd still not make it with 55k  though unless you booked tonight!

Excuse me for asking, but how the french connection UK have you got 640,000 miles? I was thinking I was the dog's balls with my 55k lol

lol, i travel a lot! well i did, I used to travel for work but the last few years its been just pleasure, but I've done 13 trips back and forth to DC to see my wife in the last 3 years, that got me 100k! only trouble is you don't get miles for traveling on a mileage flight so they are dwindling a little now!

United KingdomApproved at the Embassy this morning! (and celebrating already)

My husband booked first class with miles to treat himself for the POE flight. Then I had to use miles and catch a plane to the UK with little notice because he broke his collarbone and some ribs and needed my help packing his boxes for pickup and driving him for a follow up at the hospital, and general assistance for the airport. So I booked my return for the same flight he had.

Well......not fun sitting jammed in coach and looking through the opening to him being served snacks, cheeses, steak, ice cream sundaes all the way across the Atlantic with so much leg room he could have roller skated in front of his seat. Really the only thing that bothered me was he would turn down food. He could have stuffed something in his pockets and brought some luxury back to me. Hahaha

lol, i know its a snobish thing to say but  i just cant do coach anymore, lol no way would i ever pay the £5,450.00 ticket price though,  United's Ice cream Sundaes are great but i could buy an ice cream truck for that money! smile.png plus im 6ft 3" tall!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports6 to 12 months for NOA2 from Washington DC office...

Yes! I can attest to that. Mine took 14 months. I filled Feb 10,1012 and got NOA2 April 30,2013. No amount of calling and letter writing help. After a while, i gave up and never even bother to check on them again until one day i open my email and boom, that the approval email. It was like winning a lottery. I know how frustrating this is for you espeacilay that you are from the UK where these things take 1-2 months to get complete. In the US, its a totally different story. So my friend, spend you time doing something productive because no amount of calling will make the process faster.

Im Glad Stevie B gets what im saying!
