She was sweet but I didn't get what she was trying to say totally ... I was going to actually ask VJ'ers if they had ever had a conversation like this ... I'll paraphrase: Me: Hi, I just wanted to know if my case was completed. Her: Yes it looks like it's complete M: Really? That's great - that was fast! H: Looks like there was an expedite. M: An expedite? There's a notice of an expedite on it? H: Oh, actually, I don't see an expedite request on here. M: Oh, so is it complete? H: I'm looking at it and it's actually not quite complete. It seems the documents have all been reviewed, but they will be reviewing them one more time. M: Oh, ok so it's not done ... H: Looks like it's almost done - please call us back in a couple of days and we should have good news for you. M: Thanks! THEN OF COURSE - I called back at about 6:30pm today ... Explained to the guy I talked to that I was confused by the above conversation and wasn't sure if it was completed or what's going on. He said "Don't worry about it - it's all done." My reaction, "WHAT? It's complete." Him, "Yes, they completed it for you today, June 3rd". Then he told me to just wait for an interview date and asked that I call back in 1-2 weeks as they will schedule further interviews during the second week of June, and possibly I should have an interview for July! Yeah I sent all the originals -- but it only required the beneficiary's Birth Cert so I only sent that (with translation) ... I didn't send my own ... I don't think there's a need. I talked to an NVC operator last night ... My DS-230 has not been entered yet ... I also asked about interview information - and this lady was quite helpful .. but the bad news is that if we don't get approved by June 9th, I don't think we'll get an interview date in July - it'll be AUGUST ... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Sample Cover Letter for DS-230 Packet	I think this could be useful for a lot of people and it was requested of me by some so I figured it's best to put it out there for everyone on VJ! This is the cover letter that I sent essentially - with all personal info removed. The way I wrote it, the letter is from the petitioner, who was also the agent in the case ... So if that doesn't apply to you, you'll have to edit it a bit more Feel free to change things up - anything that you see italicized on the document should be edited and, if not applicable to you, removed. It went to "paid" status yesterday (long weekend slowed it down) and I printed out the barcode and mailed out my DS-230 yesterday (5/28) ... It arrived at the NVC this morning (5/29) ... Neetu told me this morning that she got a letter from the US Consulate in Delhi stating that her interview, originally scheduled for July 9th, had been postponed to July 16th ... No reason is specified as per what she told me ... It just said that she is not to show up on the 9th and has to go on the 16th now ... ONE MORE WEEK ADDED TO WHEN I CAN SEE MY JAAN! She's gonna call the embassy on Monday and see if this is all updated in their system (i.e., the new date) and whether there's a reason ... as to whether we can do anything about it, I doubt it ... I called the NVC but they had the 9th on their info ... I think this is a unilateral change by the US Consulate in Delhi after the date was previously given.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Calling filers/spouses in India who cleared the medical	Just to update everyone - here's the latest with Neetu: She called the VFS office and they weren't particularly helpful. She then called the Embassy helpdesk (where the gentleman has been pretty good) and asked a few questions about what she needed to submit to the VFS and what fees were still pending that she had to pay, etc etc ... She was told that she only had to pay the courier fee at the VFS because she had already submitted all required original documents to the NVC - in fact, the gentleman said that despite the "rule" that you have to wait until 15 days prior, since she had already submitted her original documents and was only paying a fee, that she could even do that early ... He did tell hSo maybe she'll try that out ... He did not tell her anything about another copy of the DS-230 or anything like that ... She also asked about taking her proof of relationship to the VFS and the gentleman recommended that she bring it to the interview ... However, she was told that CD's are not allowed (a lot of our pics and, of course, our wedding video, are on CD/DVD) - she will make due with photos, albums, and all other things that we have (letters, emails, phone records, receipt from Goa/other hotel) ... As for the medical, she went to the Dr's office in the evening and got a physical exam using my scanned letter for her interview date (she hasn't gotten hers yet, but I would assume it'll be there before Saturday) ... The Dr said that she should come back for some labwork, 3-4 shots for vaccinations, and a chest xray on Saturday morning and that a report would be ready for her a couple days after that ... Her last day of work is FRIDAY - so she's free after that ...
