IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDo you know about Administrative Processing
Check out : http://www.visajourn..._USCIS_via_221g. Basically, if your case is not fraud you have little to fear. A good lawyer will prep you for the interview anyway.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUSCIS press release
Please don't get too ahead of yourselves like i did. From Priority date on my I130 i am sitting at 248 days and still no RFE or touches. After a service request, i am sitting in background check. From VJ times lines i have been in this stage 3 months. My lawyer told me long ago, "Dora will be here for Christmas". But you can NOT take these "normal" forcasts to be your own. Granted, most VJ's i have seen have gone right along with the "normal processing times". But don't get your hopes up. I am a Navy Vet and had been a US Merchant Marine Officer for 13 years, under federal oversight, and i am stuck in "background check".
I have both Senators and my Congres rep investigating the delay, as well as my immediate family contacting their reps. YOU CAN NOT EVER GUARANTEE YOUR VISA JOURNEY UNTIL IT IS OVER. Please, my friends comfort eachother.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresFiled I-130 for CR-1. Worried about Marriage document.
S AL,
I don't want to suprise you, but your check being cleared has only begun a long process. Read many posts here, READ MEMBER TIMELINES. The quickest i have seen these petitions be totally complete is 4.5 months. Many average 6-7 months. I am an a group that is much longer. My "check" was cashed in early May '07 and I still do not have an approval. (251 days). Even after approval, i still face perhaps 4 months of processing with the National Visa Center, then my wife's interview at the Embassy. All i can offer is to read read read this site. Consult an immigration lawyer to identify certain details of your story that may be a problem later.
In the end, if you try to hide anything, you will make your journey a torture. If you are open and honest, things will go better. Oh, and pray for guidance and strength; you will need more of those than you can imagine.
Peace to you,
-jamie

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresUscis has been the end of us
QUOTE (MsZ @ Feb 20 2008, 01:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sorry, but that's my take. The wait is difficult but based on their timeline, how that alone could break up an otherwise healthy couple is beyond me. So I would put my money on something else and that USCIS is being made the scapegoat. I've seen enough LDRs faulter because of third parties to be skeptical especially when they haven't been married for that long. And if he's giving USCIS as the reason, I would be skeptical. I think the poster should consider alternative explanations for her situation. I think he's full of it.

MsZ,
Forgive me for my take. I know Christine far more than you. Furthermore, her relations with her husband predate my ralations with my wife by 4 years. I dont expect you to know these things, but i hope in the future you might consider that all of these stories of these members are personal and sensitive to all of us. As a member of this sight far longer than i, i would expect more sensitivity to tragedy from you.
I ask you, before you posted, did your read her profile, did you read her posts, did you try to learn about the topic prior to YOUR post?
To this I challenge you. Still, in my opinion your fired off a quick online post to something quite terrible. AGAIN i challenge you to examine yourself as to your post. And I challenge anyone reading, if you feel you must fire off a quick post to anyone who posts difficult news, please do so with kindness and not judgement. There is nothing wrong with inqiry, but there is something wrong with pre judgment. If you have reason to inquire harshly, then do so by PM.
I DO wish you peace, but my heart is still bleeding for Christine, and hence from that comes my dissapointment at your post. Can you not from her simple post see pain???? Every other post but yours sees the pain as clear as the noon day sun,
jamie
P.s. I hope you dont see the world like your post.

Looking at your timeline, I find it hard to believe that he would blame any problems on USCIS. I have to think it is a cop-out.

MsZ,
I dont know you at all, but blast you for sending such an insensitive and judgmental post.

Hi there,
I am a K3 sponsor for my wife, who will interview THIS friday. Your husband will be told everything he needs for NVC to get ready to send your petition to the Embassy but i can encourage you one thing. Get copies of every possible thing to support your union. Emails, chat, phone bills, cards, ANYTHING. In the end, all this paperwork is just part of a machine, your interview is the "end game".
In US immigration, WE are guilty until proven innocent. For my wife's interview on Friday, not only do we already have tax forms, bank statements, email, chat, phone records, etc. But this entire week my extended family has been writing letters to the Ambassador supporting our union, and forwarding them to my wife to bring to the interview.
We have nothing to hide, but we will be damned to blindly trust any official simply becuase we "filled the forms correctly". Please read threads into "interview disasters", etc. Basically if you have something to hide, they will find it. But if you do NOT, then you have should drown them in information supporting your case. DON'T LET THEM CHOSE.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInterview Questions
Liaz,
For my wife's K3 interview she came with a HUGE pile of support. Actually, overwhelming evidence including letters from my extended family in support of our marriage, also from my 3 children. But in the end, he was not interested AT ALL.
Since my wife had a cancelled tourist visa when she was denied at POE, he beat the hell out of her for 3 hours on ONLY that theme. At one point they thought she was going to feint and they escorted her out of the room for water and sugar.
In the end, being that she is remakably strong, she was approved. I am relieved she was approved, but not happy at all at how my fellow citizen (the consol), treated her.
So, I can't see how you could ever bring "too much" to an interview. It is just too important of a moment in our lives to not be as totally prepared as possible. And besides, collecting all that stuff is fun. I got to re-read old emails and was smiling the whole time. smile.gif
May the Lord Bless You,

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresGOT AN INTERVIEW WITH RADIO STATION
Hi VJ'ers,
I finally got my VJ account fixed so i can post (thanks to Suzie). We had a geat time on the show. After the show I spoke w/ the engineer and host Eric and we plan to do future shows, ESPECIALLY when Dora arrives. Hopefully we can show the listeners that even though everyone WANTS legal immigration they have no idea how difficult a choice it is to make. My question to exlplore on future shows is "WHY IS LEGAL IMMIGRATION SUCH A DIFFICULT ROUTE TO CHOSE? SHOULD IT NOT BE AN ATTRACTIVE CHOICE?" Anyway, i wish the Peace of the Lord to all of you. Who knows what can happen?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDiscussion with Congressman's Office regarding USCIS K-1, Processing timelines
While many are inside the times, i am not. 8+ months since I130 reciept date, no touches, no RFE's. I am stuck in "background check" for 3 months, (based on VJ'ers timelines.) Dora and i have NOTHING to worry about our backgrounds so this delay is maddening.
I have a case worker with both Senators and my congressman looking into the issue. I know they can not "rush" the background check", but they can at least verify if someone is actively working on it.
So, the processing times only mean something if your case is normal, whatever that means.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGetting married in the USA before receiving the K1 Visa
I AM NOT A LAWYER, but to come over on a "tourist visa" or from France there may be the visa waiver program. You COULD open up a case of VISA FRAUD. No one can predict how the US gov will react, but so far, if you intend to marry and have applied for the K1, then (from my experience), you are playing by the rules and can be more assured in the end goal you desire.
Again, US visas are VERY specific. Example, to use a tourist visa in hopes to gain illegal work to fund your visit could result in you never being able to visit the US forever. (This is what my immigration lawyer told me.)

Lastly, it sounds like you are doing everything correct. Don't blow it.
