K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Mailed today

Hey, I mailed mine today too!
But I used the old I-129F because I read here that it was supposed to be used until Feb 18.
Did I blow it already?

You should be fine... I was planning on using the old one, but yesterday when I was getting ready to fill everything out, I checked and it was available...

It sure feels good to have the packet mailed... I am sure you are happy as well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F Mailed today
Thanks for all the help from Visa Journey...

I express mailed my I-129F packet today (yes, I used the new version) :)

I began gathering data for the I-129 only about 2 weeks ago and joined Visa Journey on January 21.

Without the help from this board, I would have been lost. I am so thankful this resource exists.

Thanks again!!!

I-129F express mailed on 2/2/07 YEAH!!!!!!

USCIS Online Change of Address
Introduction

Customers who have an application and/or petition which has been filed with USCIS but has not yet been decided (also known as a 'pending' case) should notify USCIS of any change of address as soon as possible after moving.

The law requires nearly all non-U.S. Citizens1 to report a change of address within 10 days of moving by completing a Form AR-11. Abiding by these legal requirements and completing the necessary forms does not update an address on any applications or petitions pending with USCIS. Non-citizens with pending cases must do both.

Most customers can now notify USCIS to change their address on a pending case online here on our website. Non-citizens can also now complete the Form AR-11 online here on our website.

If you choose to change your address online using our Online Change of Address Notification tool, you will need to have some information available. Please have the following information available before you begin:

* Your receipt notice or other notice we sent you showing your receipt number (if you have a pending case with USCIS).
* Your new address
* Your old address
* If you have filed a petition for a family member, please have the names and biographical information for that person.
* When you last entered the United States (if you cannot remember this information please fill in an approximate date)
* Where you last entered the United States (through what port of entry you entered - whether by land, sea or air)

Welcome to Change of Address on the Internet for USCIS

You may be able to update your address with USCIS here on this web page. You must read our Terms and Conditions.
Terms and Conditions

This online change of address tool can allow customers to accomplish two different purposes at the same time:

* For almost all non-U.S. citizens present in the U.S. for more than 29 days, to comply with the legal requirement to notify DHS of any change of address (currently using Form AR-11, Alien's Change of Address Card)
* For individual customers who have pending applications and/or petitions with USCIS to change the address where USCIS should notify them of actions on their case

After filling out the information needed to do an online change of address, you will be asked to select a "Signature" button. By selecting the "Signature" button, you will be certifying under penalty of perjury that the information that you have provided is true and correct.

At the end of this process, you will be given the opportunity to download or print your completed Form AR-11 for your own records. Even though you are not required to print it out, we encourage you to print, sign, and date it in permanent ink and keep a paper copy of the electronic submission for your own records.

If you choose to use this online electronic change of address notification, please do not mail in a Form AR-11. On the other hand if you choose not to use this online tool and instead choose to mail in a paper Form AR-11 please understand that doing so will not update your address on any applications or petitions pending with USCIS.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F (Texas vs California)...

Most all I-129F cases get sent from Nebraska and Texas to the California service center for processing, sometimes cases get sent to Vermont to take up some of the load.

This has been the case for quite some time.

Give it a few weeks for NOA1, also if you can get your canceled check or view the markings one the reverse side of the check you ma be able to get your case number, WAC___ and check case status on the USCIS site.

Thanks...

I was able to get the WAC# off the back of the "online copy" of the check...

THanks to all... I am now signed up for the emails...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-129F (Texas vs California)...
So.... North Carolina sends their I-129F petitions to Texas but I have yet to get the NOA1. I checked my online banking and was surprised to see that the check had been cashed .... happy - but surprised because it was deposited by the California USCIS office...

So.... do all the 129F(s) get sent to CA? I figured if they took the time to open it and take the check out... that they would do the email notice thing... anyone else have any similar experiences?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion 18 (how you met your fiance) Sample
I did not want to have any extra attachments for them to lose... so I was able to describe how we met using the 4 "long" lines inside the acrobat form... keep typing and the form will wrap around... I made mine short and sweet... and sent in lots of evidence of meeting in person... visa stamps, Thai Visa, airline ticket stubs, luggage tags, hospital visit in Thailand, rent receipt....and then pictures of course... good luck!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA1 (finally)
Thanks to everyone for your kind words... I have been using the last couple of days to study for my upcoming NC State Real Estate Exam (Wednesday) joy... so I have not been logged in much.... it has almost been as stressful as completing the I-129F and worrying about completeness... :)

At least with the RE exam I do not need a perfect score... I felt like the I-129F was a take home exam that needed 100% and there was no extra credit.... and you get your grades 3-6 months later.... no wonder I feel stressed.... :)

Well... I guess I can go back to my daily checking again... "Here a touch, there a touch, every where a touch touch..." ok... so I am not too funny after studying Real Estate for 12 hours - ..... :P

Thanks again-

Snag #3 for anyone who is counting...

My translator in Thailand says he can only put his "Stamp" on the back of the document.... blah blah blah... I can live with that...

Now I have found this on VJ:

> VisaJourney.com > USCIS Document Translation Policy
USCIS Document Translation Policy

Per the USCIS, documents not in English must be translated. The policy states as follows:

"All documents that are in a language other than English must be submitted with a translation. The person translating the document must certify that the translation is complete and accurate and that he/she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English."

All translations must include a statement similar to the following:

Certification by Translator:

I typed name , certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and
languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the
document attached entitled .

Signature
Date Typed Name
Address

Ok... so, I can probably get him to re-certify the Thai Birth Certificate using this format...

I tried doing due diligence and checking the USCIS website for specific guidelines... (anything to avoid the RFE) and on the USCIS website, I find the following...
