Thanks for all the information and also thank you for addressing my concerns. I know that it's a bit too early to worry. it's been 2 months and we didn't get any RFEs yet, *crossing fingers*, so that should be fine.... right? lol.. but anyways, yeah, we're in the process of waiting..... loads of waiting to do. Sigh.. sometimes i wish that i don't think about it but it seems like i do every single day!! gosh!

So we filed for K-1 Visa petition on the 18th June 08, we received the NOA1 on 24th June. Then, our case was touched on 9th July... but there were no news after that!!! I've been checking the USCIS website practically everyday to see if there are any changes or if we get updated... but nothing. Waiting is such an agony. It's been around 2 months.... I know normally it takes around 3-4 months for NOA2. What about you guys? How's your waiting going? How long has it been? Anyone with somewhat the same timeline as we do??

Yayyyyyyyyyy! I just had to make this as a separate post!!! I'm totally ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile.gif I just woke up... it's already Saturday here, I don't normally wake up so early, but I just had this urge of checking the USCIS website!!! (Also, I had to start packing coz I'm moving to another place in my country) Anyways....... I checked it just now, and it was updated 31st October 2008... and I clicked on the receipt number... this is what I got!!!!!!

Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On October 31, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.


Now you can see why I'm totally ecstatic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna go update the June Filers string and also my timeline right now.

heya people smile.gif just wanted to let you all know that VSC didnt' go backwards really. coz previously the processing times was for February, so now it's for March. it's basically to save the USCIS' #######! well, it basically means that the time frame could be for those people who filed in March but still haven't gotten NOA2 (which is very rare) and those who are out of the time frame, would have to call the USCIS. I guess they do this to avoid too many people from calling in!! heh... anyways, i don't think the USCIS can tell you much really. my fiance did try to call them last time, they're very nice but they can't help much (at least those customer service people)... anyways, it's moving along. i hope you guys get your NOA2s soon!!!

Yeah my fiance called the USCIS on Friday regarding our cheque not yet cashed. We're a June filer and no touches since 9th September!! Argh... we received our NOA1 on 24th June... but they still haven't cashed the cheque yet, they did state that they received it and gave us the EAC receipt number. I'm really getting wayyyyy too anxious about what's going on over in VSC!!! Arghhh!! anyone knows any other people that's been approved??? how long else would it take? would it be wise to call them??

Hi-tech, that is good news. She got here visa. Not too long to get to Kharkov, or did she stay in Kiev to pick it up? I will be making my trip in a month plus to Kiev and Kharkov. I am going to have tickets to Raleigh for 2 weeks after the interview. I hope POE goes smooth. Where is Alyona entering at? I am thinking Detroit for us. Such an easy airport over JFK. Iuliia has already moved out of her apartment and is staying with her best friend, Sveta. I told her it was too early for that, but she did not listen. I am trying to work in a boar hunt in Lazova, just south of Kharkov, when I am there. Iuliia is messing up deer season, so I have to do something. I wish that I was in your shoes.

I will be hitting the boat ramp at Farrington Point at Jordan Lake at 3:00 tomorrow. Cooler will be full and beers cold. My ex-wife somehow set up an afternoon with 10 of her friends. I am the only boat going. How does that work. No, actually we have a private beach we go to and hang out at while I take everyone skiing. Unfortunately it is my exes friends. Not much in the way of eye candy. Maybe I will drink more. Life is good. Sunday, there will be 3 of my friends out there with their boats, plus mine. I stay busy all day. I have the Mastercraft skiboat, so everyone wants to ski, tube, and wakeboard behind mine. It will be a fun few hours. Hey, next spring, lets go to the lake. About 20 minutes from your apartment to that boat ramp. We do really have our own redneck yacht club. You have to spend a day with the coolers, grill, and stereos to truly appreciate the trash that we are. I also take a water trampoline out there. The kids love it at first, then the drunk guys get beer muscles and play king of the mountain. The only person that has dethroned me is my ex-wifes new husband. He is a damn ex-jarhead too. I hate Marines.

Language difficulties:
I have been going to Ukraine for years. I have been slowly learning Russian. Bought Rossetta-Stone. It is good. All of the girls that I dated could speak some English. Always had fun trying to decipher and figure things out. There were many funny moments. Way too many. Some are for private converstation. Then I met Julia. She did not speak a word of English. I then learned how limited my Russian really was. Last September I put her in English classes. She is still a long ways away from being even able to get around. She does not have to work and she will be spending her time with me travelling and seeing the US while I make sales calls. I figure being immersed in the culture and the language she will be OK on her own after a while. I do speak some Russian and I am actually taking a Russian class every Saturday morning. I do speak some German (high school), Japanese (Marines), and Tagali(Marines). Spent 28 months in the far east. I can't wait to speak with her in front of other people and they have no clue that we are talking about them. Not that I am an incosiderat or shallow person, just honest.

About marrying a non-American:
My mom is still not happy with it. She knows that I have been traveling for years going to Ukraine. She knows why. She is old school. My sister even went for our marriage ceremony in May. Momma would not go, something about the Iron Curtain and growing up in the Cold War. My father did not go because my mother was too scared to go. My ex-wife is really concerned about my finances. She is worried that I will get cleaned out. Not a problem. I have planning this for years. I have S corporations and my 3 sons college funds in their name. My house is paid off and I bought it with a VA loan. Under the Soldiers and Sailors Act of 1943, only the veteran can have any claims to the property or equity it earns. That has been challenged, but not overturned in NC. 2 of my best friends are family law lawyers and have researched it for me. I only own my house, that can't be touched, 2 boats, 3 4 wheelers. I do not even own a truck. That is under an S corp. I do have a lot of investments, so she could only get a percentage of how much they increase once she is here. I would be even more skeptical if I had married an American woman. My Julia just does not know what she has fallen into. She loves me for me. If it is a GC scam, oh well, she will be sent packing and I will be on the next plane to Kiev. Seriously. I love my wife, AKA fiancee, but I always prepare for the worst. My friends give me ####### about the whole thing. Especially their wives. They want to know what is wrong with American women. Nothing, there are some good ones, but I found what I think is the best women in the world. I also get grief because my Julia looks like she is 18. Just another benefit of my efforts. Those who have been to the FSU know what I am talking about.

I went to Cary High School across from the mall. When I was little the mall was a cornfield. We used to launch model rockets there. Cary was on 3,000 people then. Now 120,000. After the Corps and NC State I moved out by Clayton to get away from the yankees and closer to the rednecks.

Some of you that might read all of my text might not like it. I am just a country boy who has made it in life through hard work. I am far from PC. I own assault weapons, drink beer, hunt, and not arrogant in everything that I do, but confident in my abilities. Just remember, we are all here to get the one that we love by our side. I am so jealous that you are going to Kharkov. I had originally planned on being there this week, but we decided that it would be better to take a few weeks off after she immigrates. Go eat at Stargorod. The waitresses dress like the St. Pauli girl. Great beer and food. That is where we celebrated New Years. It was a combination of Halloween, Mardi Gras, and New Years. I hope to have our interview in Kiev in October. The way things have slowed down it looks like Christmas is in a race with me. I hope to be in Kharkov in October to help Julia make the big journey here. Eat some borsch and shashlik.

What you were saying abrout Ukranian girls is so true. If one has not been there, you would not understand or believe it. Last September I was at an indoor waterpark in Kharkov. Me and Julia were on the 2nd floor drinking Stella and eating shashlik. I looked down at the 5 swimming pools below us. Out of the 150 or so girls in bikinis, I could only find 2 that should not be wearing a bikini. I told Julia in America I would be lucky to find 2 that should be wearing bikinis. It is just a fact of life, they still eat very healthy in Ukraine and get plenty of exercise. I have never been to Lviv, but I have spent months in Kiev and Kharkov. I am sure that it is similar in many aspects.

Hey April filers, get your NOA2's and let the rest of us have some fun. I will say please and that is also an order. Why do I have a feeling I will be back in Ukraine for another New Years? If this was like Ukraine I would slip someone some Hgrivna and it would be done tomorrow.

If the weather stays hot, there will be no cold ones left. We went to Lake Wheeler today. Did you see the exit for it off of the Beltline, southside of Raleigh. Just a couple of miles from dowtown. Small lake, but close. Tomorrow will be Jordan Lake for the whole day, 30 minutes weat of Raleigh. Like I said, there might not be any cold ones left. We will have about 5 or 6 boats at a beach starting our own redneck yacht club. By the way, get used to rednecks, we rule the world. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of us down here. Glad to have you in the future. You Canucks are cool. I go to Sasketchewan every October duck and goose hunting. You have got some good people up there.

Jenni forgot to take the heat and humidity with her to Canada when she left Raleigh. Oh well, time to hook the Mastercraft up, grab a cooler of beer and hit the lake. That usually supresses the heat.

Watch out April, May is going to roll through you like Marines going to tattoo parlors on payday.

Hey, I am killing time at an internet cafe while my K-1 fiance and her friends are having a big good-bye party. This is the business man in me. I pay so much in taxes I look for every deduction I can get. We got married here in Kharkov, Ukraine in May. A spiritual ceremony, or whatever you want to call it. We are on a K-1 fiancee visa. We are just going to get a quick legal ceremony on the beach either at Mrytle or Charleston once we return on the 12th. Get your legal ceremony before Jan. 1st. Taxes are why. It will save you at least $2,500 in taxes, depending on your situation. I just pay an accountant to do mine, but if you earn at least $60,000, you will save a lot. If you earn less, it will still save you. Your SO did not acquire any income in the States, so beat the system. Have a big party afterwards, but money not paid to the leeches in DC is a good thing. Also helps you out in your state if your state has an income tax. Trust your redneck on this one. Have a legal marriage before the end of the year.

I've noticed over half a dozen cases similar to ours on the timelines here on visajourney have had their applications put in up to a month after ours and already have their NOA2 and some even have their interview date set.

We're still waiting for our noa2

I'm curious if and why some cases would take so much longer than others from the same service center and country.

I'm also wondering if anybody knows a better way to get in touch with the USCIS because I haven't gotten anything from them since the NOA1, not even an email notifying a "touch"

anybody willing to share experience on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

So I guess even if you're not receiving touches doesn't mean your case isn't being worked on.

When she came off the plane she was so tired she didn't even see me in the crowd waiting for her, just kept going to the baggage pickup tongue.gif

Your package may already hit to Vancouver (Embassy or consulate). I check DHL's website and found out from Feb 1 to Feb 6, there are 2 packages sent to Canada, 1 to Montreal, other to Vancouver "I think this is your". I spoke to NVC lady 2 days ago about my package. She said, " the package is usually ship to consulate before they send letter out.", How about you send email/call Embassy or Consulate tomorrow. All the best to you.

Received NOA2 Email on January 28th;
Received NVC Letter that information was sent to London Embassy on February 8th;
Still hasn't received Packet 3??!!

Should I call the embassy? OR wait?

Starting to get nervous!

Fiance filled out the forms and checklist and sent them back - without filling out the medical interview date...He's waiting for a call back from the medical facility....Is this a problem? He's going to resend the signature portion of the forms with the medical date once it's scheduled..Does anyone think this a big deal? Or advise any other ways to correct the error?
