Congratulations Tanya and Wisdom!! I called DOS today and they have approved my visa after sending the required extra document after our interview, however, they haven't approved my daughter yet for the K2??!! Fingers crossed they will approve her tomorrow??

Ha, the nurse messed up or vaccination history too, she ticked age inappropriate for a few vaccinations that i have had! I have the original records and serology reports so I have left it, I can't be bothered going back to them. I got my x-ray back today too....and although you were blasted twice, mine was over exsposed, so looks like we both got a good dose!!

My interview didn't go quite as well, they are requesting a notorized affadavit for child custody, even though I have all the UK docs and a lawyers letter, but they weren't enough! Hopefully by the end of next week i will have our passports back with out visas inside!

Luckily I checked the address before I left, although called Knightsbridge Dr's, the office i went to wasn't in Knightsbridge...it was round the back of my favourite store in the world, Selfridges!! Fantastic, we had a lovely afternoon once the medical was over, and although it was an expensive day all-in-all, I did have some gift vouchers to spend from my colleagues as a leaving present, so I spent those too laughing.gif

She's 11, so a big girl now! I got the letter from a solicitor all done and all we need are our american sized passport photos which i can get done at the weekend. Tomorrows medical day, then after we're shopping, got to make the most of being in Knightsbridge haha!

Thanks, i'm just waiting for the inventory clerk to come and check the flat before I head up to my parents for the next two months! After the carpet cleaner left at 10am, I found the time to pop to the solicitor and get the letter I need! Wow, although it cost alot, I'm so happy I managed to get it done. As a bonus, my police check for work (not the visa one, got that) has been delayed so I can't start my new temporary job probably until next week, which is great, I seriously need a break haha!

Hang in there Tanya, theres only so long they can keep you hanging.....its just disgraceful though, you have to wonder what that officer is doing and what his motives are for leaving an RFE case for so long? It should be first come first served, and RFE's should be looked at shortly after they are received back but it seems they are not interested in looking at cases fairly. I'm keeping everything crossed for you that this is your week xx

NVC sent the file on the 26th Feb, it arrived on the 2nd of March according to the DHL info. The DOS says they received the electronic copy on the 27th, but so far nobody has logged the hardcopy onto the system. All I get is 'London get so many thousands of files, it can take 6 months or more'!!!!! wacko.gif

Yep, I have the case number, I got that as soon as it reached NVC and London have the electronic copy of the case but they do nothing until they log the hardcopy, thats when they send packet 3. The embassy told me to wait until I receive packet 3 or at least know they have logged it onto their system before sending the forms. I have completed them all and they are ready to go. I have no choice but to sit and wait....I guess I should be used to it by now huh?!

It seems to me at no point in the process can they be efficient and delays can occur for no apparent reason...at least, no reason they will let on about. Its no consolation to you Tanya, but I am now stuck at the embassy, they have had my case since the 27th of february and so far have not updated the system or sent anything to me. I have phoned DOS and the rip off embassy line every day, emailed them last week (never got a reply) and my application seems to have come to a stand-still again. I understand your frustration at seeing all the September filers having got their NOA2, now I feel the same frustration as I see all the London embassy filers getting their packet 3, even those who arrived in London after mine.....honestly, how much longer can they drag this out for crying.gif

Its really not on, especially as you know they have your file, they have worked on it, all they have to do is go over the evidence you sent back, how long can that take??!! And the worst thing is, no matter who you call, or ask to speak to, they all palm you off with the same cr*p so you never feel like you are being taken seriously. It seems the officers are a law unto themselves.

You know, I nearly worte to P Novak, the big boss at VSC. A letter probably wouldn't get anywhere near him but that was going to be my next step!

I just hate the way they hide behind the offical 'May' date.

Its amazing how they take nearly 6 months to approve september filers, then overnight fly through October and November making them typical 4 months for approval?? Its ridiculous, I honestly think there are some of us on here that unfortunately got allocated to some super slow officers who need a kick up the backside....I don't care about all the checks they have to do, it does not take 6 months+ clearly from the number of people they managed to approve in the past couple of weeks.

Tanya/Amber, did you ever contact your congressman?? I know we got a letter a few days after our NOA2 saying we should expect to wait another 5 months (cough, splutter!), but i'm sure the fact that his office called/wrote to them made them fish out our case from wherever it had been dumped.

I'm still here!! Don't be lonely!! You're NOA2 must be around the corner, they can only ignore it for so long...I honestly think VSC employ some of the laziest bumholes in history!!! And they are incapable of thinking for themselves, they are like robots!! Except they don't work efficiently!

It must be soon...but I can sympathise, I really got to the point where I just thought it wasn't going to happen for months, like some of the July/August people. Its such a disheartening experience, but i'm thinking positive thougts for you!! heart.gif

Well, we got a letter in response to my email to the congressman today, it would seem that he had nothing to do with us getting our NOA2 as he wrote in his letter that we should expect to wait another 5-6 months!! So it must have just been a coincidence.

Any news for anyone else today?? Its been a bit quiet from VSC today?

It works so well for most!
I tell you, if I was a manager at Vermont I would kick so many ####'s for their inability to get through cases in a timely manner. I am passed caring that some take longer than others as they may be more complicated....none can be so complicated that they need to be usurped by Nov/Dec filers huh.gif I'm sure its just a personal race to get good stats and simply leave the more time consuming files until they absolutley have to be done. How long do extra checks take? Probably minutes, an hour or so at most on their databases? Come on Vermont, stop treating people so badly!
