Just found on http://travel.state..../info_3183.html

"If family members have separate visa petitions, each family member must submit a signed I-864 from the petitioner/sponsor, the joint sponsor (if required) and I-864As as required. Each family member must also submit a complete set of any required supporting documents."

As I understand should be two separate I-184. Please let me know if I am wrong.

Thanks.

My wife's I-130 and child's I-130 has been approved and forwarded to NVC. I am little bit confused.
Should I complete two separate I-184 for wife and child or just only one for both?

My wife and son will emigrate at the same time. For my wife i do I-864. I am not sure what form i need to fill out for my son. I spoke with NVC operator and he said that i need I-864W for my child.

Finally, the monster turned. On the 31st. NOA1 received. Beautiful surprise. Now on to NOA2. The journey continues. Good luck to all who are still waiting for NOA1 and thank you for sticking together and making this at times the most popular post on the site. I'll see you all around fighting the monster.

You should contact the CIS Ombudsman if you have an ongoing or immediate issue with USCIS.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresInmigrant Relative of US Citizen (Stepson)
Hi
I am US Resident married to US Citizen. My son is 16 years old, lives in Peru, and we want to bring him to USA. My US husband would act as the Petitioner.
I know that my husband have to fill out a I-130 form. For the specific case of my son, I think I can submit together the I-130 plus the I-485 plus the work and travel authorization.
I have these questions:
1) How long it would take from the day we send the I-130 form to USCIS up to the approval of it?
2) What is the type / name of Visa he would receive?
3) After the US Embassy in Peru issue the correspondent visa, what is the period of time that he would have to enter to USA?
4) Is it true that I can summit the I-130 plus I-485 together? And he needs to ask for work authorization and travel parole? (He wants to work in US).
Thank you in advance for your kind reply.
regards,
Ivette

Girl you are going about this all wrong, fly him into Mexico or Canada and sneak him across the Border, then not only are you not hassled with all the paper work but he is entitled to a lot more in Govt free-bees.
Soon Obama and McCain will get this whole Illegals mess smooth over and your guy might just qualify (if not this time, surely next).

*When coming across the border... I would not be advertising the : Muslim thing.... if you get caught, it might get complicated.

Middle East and North Africaopinion .Do you think it helps or hurts Mena girls when we post our drama on here about our relationships with our men?
I voted yes. There is nowhere else I can go and read anything close to what I'm experiencing especially when my family is not really that supportive. It's not about letting everything influence you but about 'taking what you like and leave the rest' I find that the outside world constantly wants me to doubt my husband's motives and when I come here our love is reaffirmed (yes I understand that's some hoky ####) and makes me feel good and helps me get through those long lonely nights without my Riyad. good.gif

Middle East and North AfricaPacking List for MENA Men coming to the USA
Oh man, I may tell him to bring spices but I know he doesn't want to bring many clothes because he wants to get new ones in the states and he said clothes were too expensive in Jordan.

About smoking told my hubby that was a NO NO. I have allergies and was an asthmatic growing up. I can't have it around me. For the person who said they slipped up and let it slide early on, My hubby tried me early too. First I caught him on the Cam smoking, I pointed out that he said he quit and he was like the holidays make it hard for me I miss my family .... ok as long as you know you can not smoke around me. Then when I was in Jordan with him the night before I was too leave a friend gave him a cigarette to calm his nerves because I was leaving. He thought he was going to charm me into saying it is ok to smoke. I smiled and told him to please smoke the cigarette but do it knowing that I would NEVER kiss him afterwards. He went into the but I'll brush, yadda yadda yadda and I was like no deal but that it's his life and his choice to smoke and my choice what I do after he smokes. He didn't smoke it ..... while I was there.... He probably lit up as soon as I left. laughing.gif

Although my process has been somewhat expedited I completely understand what you are feeling. I'm lucky in that my husband is willing to go to a internet cafe everyday so we can talk, some days see each other via cam but we talk on the phone a lot too despite the language difficulties. Even with that I've been known to shed a tear or two at missing him... usually at night when I'm laying in my bed alone. sad.gif

Wait didn't it come out in the 2nd program after the girl came home that the guy was hitting her and she was basically scared to say anything in front of him? I remember watching the show and it was before I met my husband and I frankly didn't think it was making the ME look bad. It made that guy look bad and that girl look like a young fool. Also, let's be honest there are laws and cultural issues in the ME that most Americans would have problems with, there have been instances when that has bitten an American in the @ss before. I just say this to say I didn't see the program as an attack on Arab culture or the ME, just this messed up couple but that's just my opinion on it.

Middle East and North AfricaDogs and Islam
all I can say is I'm glad I don't have to worry about what's permitted or not permitted. I told my husband how many cats I had and that we had a dog that live in the house. Now my cat is 16 years old and I've known my husband for a year. I have no respect for people who give up their animals for a man. I'm sorry, I can't trust you if you can do that to the most helpless of living things... but that's just me I know not everyone thinks like I do. smile.gif

BTW, I'm not saying that is anyone in this thread or that is a muslim specific problem. smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaBickering in MENA
QUOTE (Mags @ Jul 1 2008, 01:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
This thread is just a request for ALL who frequent MENA to have a bit more respect for one another. No one is being singled out, it applies to everyone.

This thread wasn't started so people could continue on with the bickering started in another thread. It is a polite request for members to have a bit more respect and if they don't like someone steer clear of them and their topics.

So, move on and don't use this thread to continue the previous subject.

oh really is it a request for all? I question that based on previous experience? Were you the one who changed the title of my forum was that a polite, nice way of saying move on to the people who were trolling the thread? Do you think that helped keep the peace in MENA or only appeased those who were doing the derailing. It's one thing to ask for peace but another when your not willing to apply rules equally and fairly to establish this peace. And this is a new subject a subject about the fairness of moderation on this site and ways to end the bickering?

I think people who cant take the heat should keep outta the kitchen. meaning, if you dont like a thread that is not violating TOS keep yuh raas way! Why go into the thread and stir the pot and cause all the confusion and bickering? I've seen worse threads on VJ, than the ones stating how hot your man is and those run just fine on VJ. This is childish.

It's what is leading to the bickering. Someone only need give their opinion once on a subject after that it's TROLLING. Apparently name calling is wrong but trolling hey that's all good as long as you say it's just your opinion and you are using your free speech. whistling.gif

Well I think allowing certain posters to derail threads should be a violation of TOS once someone posts their opinions then that should be it but apparently some get to post them over and over and over like their word is the truth and law. Seems to me if you stopped allowing the trolling certain groups would be allowed to bicker? I know I would never go into a thread I didn't agree with and spend the majority of my time but hey that's just me. smile.gif

Middle East and North AfricaHow Muslims Are Treated In USA
wow, this thread is on a very bad tangent. I don't mean to speak for Donna but I think part of what she is saying is that yes there are ignorant idiots in the US but there are ignorant idiots everywhere......then the convo starting spiraling. lol

I saw this story when it was aired on TV and yes it is very touching and give you hope. I've heard some seriously stupid comments from my family and I would've never thought I would hear them from my family. So it's been an enlightening, sad time for me. I'm not Muslim but my husband is but guys don't have it as tough as women.

I know when I was in Jordan, a cab driver said something very untoward to my husband about me and he was very very very angry so it does happen everywhere and it's wrong wherever it happens.

I got a call today from the local agency that handles refugees. They have gotten the request to sponsor my husband after he gets here. They called me to verify that I wanted him to come to my city (lol, of course I do). They are sending back their acceptance today. They also said all we are waiting now on is booking his flight. This means he is approved!!! Hopefully he will get the call from the IOM soon. I am so excited. Not long now.
