Philippinesvisa interview and fiancee age

Thats what Darren said..they asked for her Fiances BC?..:wow: Well Dave it goes to show you better to be prepared, You never know what the CO will ask for??? Im assuming Darrens Fiancees friend had her Fiances BC? wht else would they approve her?? Just got to be ready for anything!!!

If your fiancee is taking a copy of the I-129F then the birth cert is there...no worries as long as you have all the docs they require and the docs/proof you have already submitted.

Still kind of odd that they passed her without the tax returns as that is one of the things they want. I doubt they are using that to prove the petitioner is single...but, from what I've read the CFO will.

Philippinesvisa interview and fiancee age

It appears such additional documents are completely arbitrary, although the general consensus appears they may want the Attorney Verified document from anyone 23 and under, although it is not supported by Filipino law.

I've read accounts where attendees of the seminar were asked to provide proof that the petitioner is single. According to the poster, you can use the tax returns used at the embassy - this will show that he filed as a single individual. I've also read that you may need the birth certificate and passport pages showing the ID page, arrival and departure pages.

If you take all of your supporting documents and I-129F, you will have all of that with you. To me, it's like you're gong through another interview just to leave the country...seems a little overboard to me.

Philippinesvisa interview and fiancee age

I attended CFO seminar in Cebu and they are real tough to deal with. I had to call my husband @ 1am US time 'cause I have to get a document from him or else they wouldn't release my CFO certificate.

To the OP, if you go to the Cebu seminar, be sure and take all of the documents you took to the embassy interview, they can ask for any documents...like Mr&MrsCDO said, the Cebu seminar is tougher than the others.

Philippinesvisa interview and fiancee age

Hi! Did the CFO staff asked about the parental advice consent thing before she had her counseling seminar? Or thats right after she was about to get her green certificate and sticker? I had my CFO seminar last week, they never asked me for one and they issued me a certificate of attendance. I am still 22 and I have to go back to get my green certificate and sticker.

Did you attend the seminar in Manila?

It probably depends where you attend the seminar. I read that the seminar in Manila is far easier than the one in Cebu. Do a search for St. Mary's CFO...there are a lot of posts here about the differences.

I would still pay the few 100 pesos for the notarization just in case.

Philippinesvisa interview and fiancee age

Has anyone had a fiancee under 24 or under 21 go through the visa interview recently? If so was the marriage requirements for Philippines mentioned? Or questions regarding parental consent or counseling?

I don't think they ask about the advice/consent at the interview...I have read that the embassy is concerned about matters of the US, not the Philippines regulations. Like gary9891 said, the CFO people will probably want that if your fiancee is 18-22. My fiance is 22 and we will get the letter before she attends...just in case.

PhilippinesShould I allow my wife to eat
If I were you, I would not allow her to eat as you do...it's not healthy. Why are people in the "West" fat? Because they eat food that is essentially garbage. There are no nutrients in the "food." That is why people get fat, they eat the bad food and their body tells them that it needs nutrients so they keep eating...just filling themselves full of posion while slowly killing themselves.

Watch the movie "Super-size Me."

Let her cook for you, you might not like it at first, but if you want to be healthy, happy and live a long time with your wife, let her feed you. Isn't she worth living for?

PhilippinesWhat kind of Car for the under 5' Filipina?

i think any car will do...

im 4'11 in height... i used to drive ford ranger... as long as its AT... no problem... if its MT, i cant reach the clutch... :D

My fiancee is 4'9", so I'm thinking a small car will probably be the ticket. Since she has never driven a car before, I'm going to say a manual transmission is out of the question for her first car. Not that I think she couldn't drive it, but it would be better for her to focus on the basics of driving instead of having to deal with changing gears.

PhilippinesPhilippines Flag

I have U.S. flag made by Annin. It has been outside my house for about 2 years, with no signs of fading or wear.
I'm assuming their Philippine flag is made with the same quality.

I hope you find what you're looking for!

Thanks...I saw this one earlier while searching. No reviews on it, so that's what prompted this thread.

PhilippinesPhilippines Flag

Try this. I purchased US and Philippines flag from these guys in 2007 before my asawa arrived. Very good quality. Holding up well, but needing to be replaced in a year or so.

http://www.flagsunli...l=International

Brace yourself for some interesting comments. My asawa was very touched by my effort to show respect for her homeland, but during most all parties with her new (and many) Filipna friends in the early days, they poked fun at her at often sang the Philippines National Anthem when entering the house...all in fun, of course. But, they also admired how thoughtful her bana was....

Thanks for the link.

One of our local Filipino stores also sells flags. I have looked at them and the fabric is the same as what I have found for US flags in the local Walmart store.

I would suggest trying the Filipino store nearest you.

COP, this isn't mean to sound rude, so please don't take it that way...I know how to use a search engine and have already done so...I found a lot of places that sell.

I was wanting to know if anyone here has bought a quality flag and where they got it from.

People will always say "Google is your friend." Google is not and never will be my friend...as they have sold out people to governments with poor human-rights records. Google SUCKS!!!

PhilippinesAge difference between Filipinas and americans (Poll)
He's 43...
I'm 32...:-)
That's 11 years difference...

By Filipino standard, that would already raise some eyebrows. :-) But then with the new era, that age difference is already accepted. Actually, opinions will differ depending on the age group. Individuals on their 20's would say, "Gosh why? That's old". :-) People on their 30's and above would say, "Hmm, that's a perfect match."

Generally, with my age group, more than 20 years difference is really way too much. I have nothing against couple having that much of age gap. But I would never ever go beyond that border line. My fiance thinks so. I mean, I want to enjoy married life as much as possible and spend wonderful years with my husband as many years as possible... with God's will...:-)

PhilippinesFlight Information For Filipina Fiance
Hello Vann,

Good day! Here's something I can share and hope this will help you.

With Philippine Airlines, yes, the credit card is needed upon ticket confirmation at the airport but that is before boarding. Just two weeks ago my USC fiance visited me here in Cebu. I was the one who purchased our ticket, the round trip ticket from Cebu to Manila using my credit card. At the Cebu airport (on my way to Manila), I asked for our printed Ticket Itinerary (the round trip), using the e-ticket Itinerary which PAL had sent to me through email. If what you have on hand is the e-ticket Itinerary, they will still ask for the credit card being used to purchased that but if you already have the printed Ticket Itinerary from the airlines, there's no need for the credit card. I know coz my fiance was by himself on his trip from Cebu to Manila - Manila - US. He just showed the printed Ticket Itinerary.

For international flight, I believe it is still safe to purchase ticket online. With my fiance's visit early this year, he got his ticket from Northwest Airlines. It was pretty easy coz you can do boarding online and print your boarding pass online too, even choose your seat number, and that's 24 hours before your scheduled flight. It is pretty convenient on my fiance's side, made his flight easy and less hassle. He purchase his ticket online too. But I will ask my fiance if he was asked to present his credit card after already having his boarding pass which he printed online.

I think that even if you'll purchase the ticket online, it would just be okay. If it is from Manila to the US. Choose Northwest or Cathay Pacific. Well, among the two, I would prefer Northwest coz my fiance had a good and easy flight with NWA. They have easy boarding instructions which you can do online and your fiance can just print it out. And it is cheaper also. We actually "monkeyed" the online boarding thing together and it was just easy.

And just for the worst case scenario, you can send your fiance a photocopy of your credit card, back to back, and a letter saying that you are the one who purchase the ticket, plus her ID. Airlines accept that, PAL do.

Hope this will help.
Good luck...:-)

So does this mean that even if you have a Medical Appointment, say, on December 19, 2007 and an Interview Schedule on Jan. 3, 2008, you can have a medical exam earlier than December 19? Say for example Dec. 12?

PhilippinesWhat's the best time to call NVC?
Hello Everyone,

Good day! :-) We are happy to hear some of the good news being shared from fellow VJ members. We also observed that there are some June filers who already have the appointment date for medical and the interview. We have this positive feeling that ours will be soon also.

We just have one quick question, please. :-) Those who had tried calling NVC and were able to talk to one of the NVC staff, what is the best time you can recommend to call NVC? We don't know yet if our case is already received by NVC from CSC.

We would really appreciate your input.

Thanks & regards,

Hmm, this is an interesting post...:-) I have studied in Tacloban City and learn how to speak Waray-waray. I'm very fluent in that dialect. Our native dialect is Bisaya coz I was born in Ormoc. I can also understand Ilonggo. And of course, all Filipinos are fluent in Tagalog. :-) So I can speak Bisaya (Cebuano), Waray-waray, a little Ilonggo, and of course English, and a little Spanish. I also learned some Slovene words, how i learn it, it's a long story...:-)

Philippineshave anyone of you here experienced sputum test?
Hello Vonicks...

I'm sorry to hear about you medical result. Just hang on and try to be positive about it. There's a big possibility that everything's alright.

As to sputum test, I don't have much medical knowledge coz I don't study that field. But when i learned that they are very ####### about the medical exam, I tried to ask our company doctor to refer me for AFB test or the acid fast bacteria test. Mycobacterium tuberculosis are Acid Fast bacteria and they are the bacterium that causes most of tuberculosis. I had a 3-day test and produced sputum sample early in the morning, specifically 4-5am. And as early as 7am, i submitted the sample to the clinic everyday for 3-days. I had a little cough during that time, just the normal cough caused by the rainy season. I could not produced a thick sputum coz i don't really have the "real" cough but I was informed by the nurse that they will just conduct the test and anyway if i really have that bacteria they can detect it in my sample.

The reason why i subjected myself to that test is that I easily get cough specially during rainy days. I am confident that I'm healthy but just want to be sure. I'll get the result tomorrow coz it's going to be released by the company doctor. After that, I'll subject myself to a chest x-ray also. I'm not scheduled for medical yet, but I'm just preparing myself.

So, what I can suggest is you do another test. I mean have the AFB test and another x-ray for second opinion. If you'll find out that you're just ok and very healthy then you don't have to go on "drowning" yourself with worries while you wait for the result from SLEC.

And yes, keep on praying... it's going to be alright... And to those who are scheduled for medical or about to have the medical soon, I think it's best to have a test in advance, especially AFB test coz you know TB is common in our country. It doesn't really mean that you are a carrier, there's a possibility that you are infected.

PhilippinesQuestion About Docs for the Interview
Dear All, Happy New Year!

I'm preparing the documents I need for my Medical Exam and the Interview (Feb. 8, 2008) and I tried to read some of the posts made by those who already had their Medical and Interview appointment. I read some things which have confused me a little bit. Your inputs would be valuable.

Okay here are my concerns:

1. I want to have the early Medical exam instead of my Feb.1 appointment, but I haven't received Packet 4 yet so I only have to rely on the printout of my sched from the Visa Appointment site. I have read in VJ that for those who want to undergo an early Medical Exam but Packet 4 is not received yet during the "planned" early Medical exam, the needed docs are just the printout of the medical and interview sched from Visa Appointment site, and 2x2 picture, NOA2 and a copy of NVC Letter. Now, I'm wondering if they will just accept a scanned copy of the NVC Letter. My fiancé just received the letter last Dec. 17 from NVC and it would take a couple of weeks to have it on hand if I'll ask him to send it. So what I plan is that I'll just ask him to scan it and send it to me by email then I’ll have it printed. Will this be acceptable at SLEC?

2. Since I plan for an early Medical Exam, do I need to call SLEC for Packet 4 pickup or just wait for packet delivery at home, and then have the early medical as what I have planned in #1?

3. And about the Police Clearance, I have never lived outside the country and so I only have to get a police clearance here in the Philippines. But what confuses me is that, do I need to get a police clearance from every province or city I had/have lived in? I had read one post here in VJ wherein she obtained 2 police clearances, one from her province and another one from the city she presently lives in. Do I really need to do that? My province is in Leyte, had lived in Manila for a year, then presently living here in Cebu.

4. Lastly, do I need to secure Baptismal Certificate and school records from elementary and high school? I already have my TOR in college. I don’t have problems with my Birth Certificate and I already have the NSO copy as well as the copy issued from the Civil Registrar. So, am I correct to “assume” I don’t need Baptismal Cert. as well as the school records from elementary and high school?

I would really welcome your inputs and comments.
Thank you very much and good luck to us all!!!

PhilippinesMail Delay in the Philippines
Hello everyone... I'll share something about our postal service that would make Filipino proud. My fiance had been sending me things, presents, and documents a number of times already and he always used the US Postal Service by priority mail. And i never had any problem receiving everything he sent me. I live in Cebu and working in an export processing zone in Lapu-lapu city and we would always use my office address as the delivery address. Everytime I'll have a package, one of the post office personnel will send a notice of receipt in our office and that would then be my claim slip when I'll get my package. Usually, my packages are big boxes which would contain legal documents, greeting cards, and presents. Last December, my package was delayed but because of the Christmas holidays. It took 21 days till I got it. Usually it would only take 13 or 14 days.

Actually, our postal offices are making good progress too. And another thing, based on experience and my officemates' experience, it is safe to send packages addressed to the office. In my case, the company I work with is known in the area, easy for post office personnel to contact.
